Here and Never Found

"It hasn't been easy, has it?" Elita spoke aloud, breaking the silence between her and Arcee.

Arcee could only vent out a long, tired sigh. "No, it hasn't," she replied, as her optics looked forward, just outside of Cybertron.

"I imagine every bot feels the same, in one way or another." Elita said, sitting down next to the scout. "We mustn't lose hope, and you and I both know we can't change the past, no matter how much we dislike it."

"Much as I hate to admit it, that is true," Arcee responded, her vocoder weary. "They're with the AllSpark now, so there is some comfort."

Elita nodded, and she turned herself to face Arcee. "Yes, it is. Whether it be stellar cycles, solar cycles, or even nanoclicks, we must move forward."

Before she spoke again, Arcee took a moment to vent in the air around them. She had the right to say how she felt, and so did Elita, but it was best to let any feelings she had sit for now.

"Yes," Arcee said simply. "And you as well."

Elita gave an affirming nod to the scout, and Arcee repeated the gesture.

The aching, foreboding sense of dread hung over them, even as they went their separate ways, heading back to Cybertron.

They did their best to put it to one side.
