LITO: Infinity Rising
Chapter 4: A Prophecy Revealed (Part 1)
"Sonic, what happened?!" everyone asked. The question was actually first asked by Tails, but it
was actually one that was murmuring in everyone's minds, despite it not being on their lips. As
for every Mobian, their expression was one of shock, fear and panic. Panic at the obvious fact,
that their greatest warrior, their "hero" had been so easily defeated by a newcoming threat. But
as for the Zootopians; they had more of a confused look on their faces. Confusion either at the
result of what happened and the wounds that marked Sonic like a wall graffitied with scars; or
confusion as to why the Mobians seemed more fearful than anything. "Isn't it clear what
happened already?" the nearest Mobian next to Tails yelled in a loud, scoffing manner. "Look at
the scars, look at the scars! Our hedgehog has been defeated, our world was destroyed by
who-knows-what, and now; it's coming for Zootopia!" he shouted in a rage mixed with fear and
alertness. This particular Mobian; a red wolf wearing reading glasses, lime-green gloves, a
military vest, a pair of running shoes and armed with an MK-47; matched the emotion that all
Mobians were displaying within the crowd. Arousing fear, and the tsunami know as anxiety. The
world seemed crowded to Sonic. Crowded with fear, anxiety and emotion which were sparked
by reckless debate and hasty assumption. That was all broken by a mysterious voice. "Sonic." a
dark, calm and eerie voice whispered among the noise. Sonic turned behind him, then to his
right, then to his left. He even spun and did a 360 in an attempt to catch whoever spoke to him
in that voice which made him feel the fear which now almost paralyzed him. Fear of letting his
planet down, fear of the ones he cared about most suffering, fear that no one (not a single one)
would trust him as a hero, friend or hedgehog ever again. Because he would have let… them…
down. "Here hedgie hedgie hedgie…" the voice taunted again. For some reason now, Sonic's
world faded from white, to black, to rainbow, with the various figures now distorting themselves
in various ways. Some were spiraling, others in cube shape, physical features changed
dramatically, space seemed to scrunch him down to a pulp then raise him again. It was as if
everything; time, reality, physics, space, logic; everything that was once very much dependable,
was never meant to be. Everything was flying faster than even Sonic's brain can process.
Everytime he thought that it would stop, it would just all resume; faster and faster. Until he called
out, "Where are you?!" three times. The first time in fear; the second, in stress; the third, a
combination of the previous two mixed with anger due to a lack of response. The world then
faded to black, as if Sonic's eyes were vacuum-sealed shut tight. "Right here." a familiar dark
voice whispered, which immediately snapped everything back to the present day at a pace
beyond the speed of light and refocused with a brain shattering BOOM!
"Oh So-nic?" the dark figure spoke in a sing-song voice. Sonic now felt feeling in his entire body
again. Something he thought he lost access to when he went through these weird illusions. This
time, he was sitting at Mobius Park at a picnic table. He looked out at the set-up. There was no
one there on this nice sunny day at the campground. No one near the water fountains. No one
near the Zero-Gravity X-Gear Track either. No one at Mount Mobian Rockwall, or the Ranger
Station or anywhere along the desert landscape of the park's nature trails. The only one who
was there, was the one who caused all this trouble in the first place. The dark Zororark, only
known, as Dark Foxen.
Just a little treat for you now; enjoy an appetizer in Part 2 when it comes out. ;-)
