LITO: Infinity Rising

A Prophecy Revealed (Part 2)

"Well well, look who's come back from the dead." Dark spoke in his naturally dark and edgy

tone, as he was cooking hot dogs over a campfire grill similar to that which you would find at a

National Park or a similar campsite. Sonic turned to notice some things at the picnic table he

didn't notice before because he was overly focused on finding Dark Foxen. He saw chili mixed

with cheese inside a pot that continued to steam, indicating that it was all done and fresh. "The

little blue 'savior of Mobius.'" Dark Foxen continued as he turned the 8 delicious hot dogs over to

grill again. "It's amazing how such a big deal can be made over a little dog, couldn't it? David

beating Goliath and soon becoming a legendary warrior and king? A farm boy from a desert

planet destroying an entire space station and that propels him into becoming one of the galaxy's

greatest heroes?" Sonic knew his ways around the multiverse quite well, so he decided not to let

these stories phase him. "A guy who becomes wounded receives regeneration serum and red

pajamas to become a superhero," He was however, getting tired of the Zororark's rambling

examples. "How 6 horses got magical stones and saved the world, how a backup quarterback

won the Super Bowl? I GET IT WEIRDO!" Sonic shouted in a combination of arrogance,

annoyance and anger. But just like the time Sonic fought him physically for the fate of Mobius,

the same feeling was inside Dark as an effect from the mental hit. Unphased. "Yes yes,

everyone loves an underdog." Dark said, in a pleasant and agreeing tone; being insensitive to

Sonic's annoyance. "But I think we both know those stories are getting old. What about the

stories that focus more on the reality of things?" Dark suggested errily. Sonic sighed to let all the

anger energy vent out while he pondered the words his adversary was saying. "The ones who

were once strong, but now fallen" he spoke as he took his now perfectly ready hot-dogs off the

campfire grill. "The ones who, after they started from nothing, had it all." he continued on as he

was getting the 8 hot dogs ready for serving as chili dogs. "And then actually conjured up the

ultimate illusion in their minds." "What illusion?" Sonic asked, rather confused at where the

zoroark was leading to while he got the rest of the hot-dogs set up. "The illusion that anyone

cares about them" Dark continued. "That anyone even thinks of them and their success and

their utterly wild crusades in life. That they would even want to serve their purposes. But in the

end; you would recognize reality for what it actually is. A survival in which everyone

only seeks for their own purposes. And they can use whatever they have access to for their

advantage." "Such as what?!" Sonic asked. "Oh, lots of things." Dark replied. "Anything they

create for what they claim can benefit the world," as he said that, images of a sword, medicine,

iPhone and money all materialized as he continued "but in the end is to satisfy their own hungry

gain." As he finished that sentence, all of the items quickly disappeared. "Crafting makes gifts

that help people but for the purpose of vanity, profit, recognition, power, fame; or perhaps even

all of them." he said. Sonic just shook his head in disbelief, "No no, it's not always true like that,

there's not always an ulterior motive, not with everybody. Is there?" Sonic asked, in a tone that

projected confidence; but betrayed the feelings of fear and uncertainty he felt in this situation as

he was anticipating what this infinitely powerful would offer next. Dark simply smirked and

asked, "What do you think?" Deep down, Sonic knew the answer. Everyone had different

motives, and eventually; it would lead back to their own desire. A few more minutes went by as

Sonic and Dark sat down on the bench eating their chili dogs. Dark already ate all four of his

when Sonic ate one, but then stopped halfway with the next. "Not that hungry today, hero?" Dark

asked, in a rather mocking way; knowing full well what mental damage he inflicted in Sonic.

Sonic looked down at the ground depressed. "I guess not. You can have the rest if you want."

Dark smiled, in a way to at least act compassionate. "That's ok hedgehog. You're going to need

your strength for the adventure ahead." Sonic then turned to Dark, confused. "Adventure? What

adventure?" he asked. Dark chuckled, then replied; "This is all an illusion Sonic. One to keep

your mind alive while your body is resting." Sonic still looked confused. "You've been

unconscious for 24 hours since our last battle, and I transformed my body into energy so I can

help heal your mind. For our next battle will fulfill a prophecy you will find in the Planet Earth that

you must piece together to understand my purpose. As for my origin, you must ask your 'friend'

Blaze the Cat. But before I will leave your mind forever, there is one more prophecy I must make

Myself." Dark finished. Sonic, wanting this terrible nightmare to end, replied, "Ok, let's hear it."

Dark chuckled. "Either which way, for some reason or another during the quest that will follow

within the next week; everyone. Everyone who you think has cared for or about you so much

and even have rooted for you for a time, will eventually fall away. And succumb to their own

interests. Remember that." Dark finished, as reality finally started to come at him like a shocking

jolt. The next thing Sonic did after immediately opening up his eyes was touch his body. He was

real, and he was awake. The question that was on his mind, as it probably is on all of yours is,

what will happen next?
