John was lying there thinking about everything that had come up in his and Kate's conversation. His thoughts were interrupted by a text, seeing it was from Kate, he smiled as he read that Kyle wanted to call him Dad. There was a knock on the door,

"Come in."

Kyle opened the door, John watched him come in and close the door. He could tell Kyle was nervous, as he stood in the corner looking at the ground. Obviously getting up the courage to say what he wanted so John said,

"You know I think of you like a son right?"

Kyle looked up, shocked.

"Well, now I do. Why didn't you ever say anything before?"

"I didn't know you felt that way about me. I didn't want to put myself out there and get shot down."

"You are the closest thing to a father and Kate is the closest thing to a mum I have ever had. My biological parents didn't give two shits about me, and haven't spoken to me since I joined the Army. I called and told them I was joining SAS and they didn't congratulate me or anything." Kyle said.

"I'm proud of you. When we met in Piccadilly I felt connected to you for some reason, and I finally realized it when I woke up and saw you and Kate asleep, well I realized what I had found. I had gained back a wife who wasn't my wife and a child who wasn't mine but I would gladly be husband and father if you both would have me."

"Does she know that?"

"I hope she does."

"Hope she knows what?" Kate said, from the doorway.

Both John and Kyle jumped, not realizing she was there.

"That dad wants to be dad." Kyle smiled at him.

Kate came over, sitting on the edge of John's bed. He wrapped an arm around her pulling her closer. Kate looked over to Kyle, reaching out a hand he took it and squeezed it.

"Told you." Kate said.

"You did." Kyle laughed.

Kyle saw how exhausted they both were, they needed to get some sleep. Especially as Norris was waiting for some critical intel to come through. Norris wouldn't say what it was until the full report came in. He hoped it wasn't Markarov-related, he wanted them to have some alone time together with no stress.

"I'll let you two get some rest."

"What time are we leaving?" Kate asked.

"Nik said about 9 at the latest."

"Where are we going?" John asked.

"Home until January 11th."

John nodded.

"I'm headed out." Kyle left, going down the hallway and stopping a few doors down. Getting a text from Ghost he read it and then texted Kate.

Kate came out not long after that.

"They have a location on Makarov." Kyle whispered.

"Where?"

"Somewhere in Verdansk, Ghost wants to speak with us. Said it was about Dad."

"What about him?"

"I don't know, he wouldn't say."

"I'll be there soon, he wanted to go back to his regular room and they said he could." Kate turned back to the room but Kyle stopped her by grabbing her hand.

"You need help?"

"No, I've got him."

"Okay, come get me if anything happens." He squeezed her hand.

Kyle went to the briefing room, telling them to wait on Kate. Kate got John back to his room and got him settled. She was heading for the door when he asked,

"I thought you would stay?"

"I have got a brief to get to."

"Makarov?"

"I don't know, I'll tell you when I get back okay?"

John looked disappointed,

"I'm sorry, I love you." Kate kissed him.

"Love you too." John whispered, kissing her.

Kate left the room, meeting up with Norris and the rest of 141.

"What's going on?"

"We found Makarov in a gulag in Verdansk, but he has a small army with him." Norris said.

Kate saw the looks on everyone's faces including Kyle and Nik's.

"What are you not telling me?"

"Intel from an inside source says there's a woman and a teenage girl there also." Norris said.

"Okay, so we will get them out too or is there something I'm missing?"

"Intel is convinced it's Price's wife and daughter. They did an age regression on the woman and the result, well unless she has a twin it's her. They didn't have a picture of his daughter to use but the assumption is the teen is his daughter, she would be almost 20 now right?"

"That can't be right, they both were murdered by Makarov. He told me. And how did you know about them?"

" I did some digging on everyone in this room, is he sure of that?" Norris asked.

"He buried them."

"But did he actually see the bodies?" Farah asked.

"I don't know."

Everyone looked at each other.

"Where're the pictures? I'll show them to him and see what he says."

Kyle looked at Norris, after Norris nodded his head Kyle handed them to Kate. Everyone dismissed and they stood off to the edge of the room.

"You want me to come with you?" Kyle whispered.

"Yeah, would you?"

"Of course."

They started walking toward the door but Ghost, Soap, Alex, and Farah stopped them.

"Can we go too?" Farah asked.

Kyle and Kate looked at each other worriedly, unsure what to say.

"What do you think?" Kyle asked.

"That he's going to kill me for sure when the whole task force is in there with this news." Kate said, leading them to John's room.

When they made it to John's room, Kyle knocked.

"Kate?"

"It's Kyle."

"Come in."

Kyle, Kate, and the rest walked in.

"Okay, I'm officially worried now. What's going on?"

"Update on Makarov." Ghost said.

Kate came to sit next to him, John knew something was up because she sat close to him and that only happened if they were alone or just with Kyle.

"You located him?" John said, instantly more animated.

"Yes in a gulag in Verdansk." Farah said.

"So what's the big deal? I can't go because of my injury so what's the big plot twist?" John asked, knowing it had to be something huge for everyone to act this concerned.

"The intel we have gathered includes photos of the outside and inside of the prison. These are the photos." Kate said, handing them to him, hoping this wouldn't be too much of a shock in his injured state.

John sat up, taking the pictures and looking through them. He didn't see anything out of the ordinary until he came to the image of the woman and kid. He looked at Kate, then at the picture again.

"This can't be real, it just can't be."

"Satellite imagery doesn't lie captain." Kyle said.

"I buried them."

"Did you ever see the bodies?" Farah asked.

"No…. the cop who worked the scene told me their bodies were already burned. All I got was their 'ashes'. At least I thought it was their ashes, but now not so much. What's the plan? And how can I help from here? As much as I need to go with you, I understand I would be a liability."

"You can help with deciding the best way to use the intel, though D…" Kyle stopped as he nearly called him Dad.

Hoping to cover Kyle's near slip-up Price quickly said,

"Yes, that's right, I can help with the planning. We're all here now, let's start planning. Makarov is not going to get away this time, not after this."
