Chapter XII: Day 4 Part II of II

Josh: That's right, HJ! 624,000 ticks is eight hours and twenty minutes! That's right!

HJ: We gonna wait until this evening to meet Juan at the Steamferno Clan's wall of their occupied territory that they've taken over of this summer camp.

Narrator/EPF: One hour later...

1:00 PM

*at the Wool Creative Commons*

Juan: Okay, everyone! We're gonna do the same thing as yesterday. Let your creativity run wild!

(many pairs of shears being used)

(many sheep bleating)

(many wool blocks being placed)

Narrator/EPF: 72,000 ticks later...

2:00 PM

*at the Lucky Block Mining Center*

HJ: Can't believe that a couple of minutes before the last activity ended, Juan gave us the photos to our builds so we can have something to remember them by.

Josh: Well, HJ. This is an interesting time of day. And right now, we're mining the normal lucky block.

Drew: Hey, guys! I got a lucky set of chainmail armor and they're all enchanted!

HJ: Good for you, Drew.

Counselor 1: Keep mining those lucky blocks, everyone!

(tons of lucky blocks breaking)

Narrator/EPF: One hour later...

3:00 PM

*at the pool*

HJ: We have five hours and 40 minutes until show time! Or better yet, 408,000 ticks!

Tess: That is awesome, HJ! I'm really great with sketching, drawing, and face paint!

Kate: Tess, you had me at "face paint" despite the fact that I'm a robot.

Duke: Oi. I'm great at swimming!

Drew: Yeah, my family is, like, big. I have three brothers and four sisters. I'm, like, the second oldest in my family. Oh, ma gosh. Why do I even bother saying that anymore?

George: Wow, this is quite a fascinating afternoon.

Narrator/EPF: 3 hours later...

6:00 PM

*at the dining hall*

HJ: We have two hours and 40 minutes until show time! Or 192,000 ticks.

Tom: Don't you guys believe it? This is the last dinner we're gonna have at this summer camp!

Narrator/EPF: 90 minutes later...

8:30 PM

(HJ's phone rings)

*HJ answers his phone*

HJ: Hello? Juan? What is it?

Juan (on HJ's phone): Meet me at the Steamferno Clan wall in t-minus 10 minutes.

HJ: Okay, Juan.

Juan (on HJ's phone): Good. I'll be waiting.

*HJ hangs up his phone*

HJ: We just out of the pool, you guys. Let's walk to the Steamferno Clan wall. *checks his clothes* And we're in our normal attire.

*the gang walks to the Steamferno Clan wall*

*after walking for a few minutes, the gang reaches the wall*

HJ: Here we are. The Steamferno Clan wall. *to EPF* EPF, what time is it?

EPF: 8:33 PM.

HJ: Okay, thanks, EPF.

EPF: You're welcome, Hugh Jacob.

(general conversation)

Narrator/EPF: Seven minutes later...

8:40 PM

(approaching footsteps)

HJ: Guys, here comes Juan!

Juan: Hola, Cork Men and rookies. I've been expecting you all.

HJ: It's a pleasure to have you help us with this mission, Juan.

Juan: Gracias.

HJ: De nada.

Juan: Now, everyone. We can't go in there willy-nilly. If we do, the Steamferno Clan will see us and kick us out and put us back to this spot. We have to go in without them noticing us.

HJ: I got this covered, Juan. Everyone, gather 'round! You too, Juan.

Juan: Okay.

HJ: Stealth mode! Blend in!

*all 19 people go into stealth mode*

HJ: Camouflage made, activate!

*all 19 people go into camouflage mode so nobody can see them or hear them, especially the Steamferno Clan*

Juan: Nice work, HJ!

HJ: Don't mention it, Juan.

Juan: I'm gonna open this secret hidden door with the press of a button that's blended in into the wall. And the button acts like a lever. *pushes button*

(button clicks)

(sticky piston doors opening)

*all 19 people enter the occupied territory*

Juan: I'm gonna shut the door, too. *pushes button*

(button clicks)

(sticky piston doors closing)

HJ: How far away is the south side of the Lake Sacrificio Profundo, Juan?

Juan: Not very far, HJ. It's an eight-minute walk.

(walking footsteps)

Narrator/EPF: Eight minutes later...

8:48 PM

Juan: We're here, amigos. The south side of Lake Sacrificio Profundo.

HJ: Juan, are you gonna give me instructions to where the evil plans are?

Juan: Sí.

HJ: Where's that water breathing potion you have that lasts for eight minutes?

Juan: I'm holding it right now. *gives the potion to HJ* Get in the lake, then drink it, then swim to the evil plans. This lake only has a shore on the south side right here.

HJ: *gets in the lake* Okay. Time to drink this potion. *drinks the potion*

(Minecraft sipping noises)

HJ: *starts to swim underwater*

Juan (on HJ's earpiece): And now you have water breathing. Swim down diagonally to the evil plans. It's gonna take four minutes to get to the bottom of the lake. The evil plans are in a normal chest. Placed in the center square in the center row.

HJ (speaking into his earpiece while underwater): You got it, Juan! At least I'm still in stealth mode and camouflage mode. *starts to swim down diagonally*

(swimming noises)

Narrator/EPF: Four minutes later...

8:52 PM

HJ (speaking into his earpiece while underwater): Okay, I reached the chest.

Juan (on HJ's earpiece): Good. Now get the evil plans out of the chest and take them with you and swim back. Your potion effect time is halfway up.

HJ (speaking into his earpiece while underwater): Okay.

(chest opens)

*HJ takes the evil plans out of the chest*

(chest closes)

*HJ turns around and swims up diagonally*

Juan (on HJ's earpiece): HJ, hurry up! Before your water breathing effect wears off!

HJ (speaking into his earpiece while underwater): I'm hurrying!

Narrator/EPF: Four more minutes later...

8:56 PM

Josh (to Juan): Juan, how long until HJ's water breathing potion effect wears off?

Juan (to Josh): In t-minus three seconds. Three, two, one, zero.

Jamie: Aw, man! HJ's in trouble!

Juan: Jamie, no. HJ's almost here.

*underwater*

HJ (underwater): Aw, man. My water breathing effect wore off. I can't even breathe! Gotta swim faster!

*HJ swims faster to reach shore and eight of his underwater breath bubbles disappear, causing him to have two bubbles left*

Juan: HJ's got two bubbles left! He's only down to a few ticks of air!

*just before HJ's ninth water breath bubble disappears, he finally gets out of the water and walking to shore*

HJ: (gasps for air) Gee, I almost drowned! Guys, I got the evil plans! I got the- (coughs to get the water out of his lungs)

Tom: You okay, HJ?

Josh (to Tom): Give him a minute, Tom! He has to cough out the water he has in his body.

HJ: (stops coughing) -evil plans.

Juan: Me corrijo.

Tom: What does that mean?

EPF: It means, "I stand corrected" in Spanish, Tom.

HJ: Phew, that was a close one for me. I almost died from drowning. If I did, I would've respawned in the cabin.

Juan: Thank goodness you got the evil plans, HJ. Thank goodness. What time is it? It's, uh-

HJ: 8:56 PM, Juan.

Juan: Oh, shoot! The campfire starts in four minutes! I'm never gonna make it there on time!

HJ: We'll teleport you there. One of our many known superpowers is teleporting.

Juan: Really? You mean it?

HJ: Yes. *to EPF* EPF, teleport us to the campfire on time!

EPF: You got it, Hugh Jacob!

(teleporting noises)

*all 19 people teleport to the campfire at the amphitheater*

*at the amphitheater*

(teleporting noises)

HJ: Well, Juan. We're here.

Juan: Gracias, HJ! You got me here four minutes early! And you need to hide those evil plans in your inventory.

HJ: Okay. *hides the evil plans in his inventory*

Narrator/EPF: Four minutes later after that...

9:00 PM

Juan: Okay, looks like everyone is here. So this is our last campfire for this camping trip. So as we get packed up and head home, we're all gonna think of what great memories we had here. And the Steamferno Clan has taken over a part of this camp. But with HJ stealing the evil plans from them without them noticing, we'll get to have the lake back when you all return next year! And we'll get Lake Sacrificio Profundo back once the Cork Men defeat the Steamferno Clan here. So as we...

(voice fades away)

Narrator/EPF: Two hours later...

11:00 PM

HJ: Well, good night, guys! We finally got the evil plans from the Steamferno Clan!

Josh: Yeah, we sure did. And I secretly decoded those evil plans in HJ's inventory and from what I can tell, the Steamferno Clan are trying to build an evil plan so great that they want to take over the world and then, the universe. They were right about their plan this whole time. They were right all along.

HJ (to EPF, quietly): EPF, give these plans to Juan so he can hack into them and observe them for twelve hours.

EPF (quietly): You got it, Hugh Jacob!

*EPF teleports away and gives the plans to Juan*

*EPF teleports back*

EPF: And I'm back. That only took a second.

HJ: Okay, lights out, you guys!

*Tom turns off the lights with the light switch next to him*

(lights flick off)
