Gajeel led the 1st generation Dragon Slayers to Domus Flau's underground room that he ended up in before. It's quite deep and not that many people have entered this place. Ben didn't even come here because he had no reason to.
Lucy, Gray and the Exceeds joined them because they were curious. The other guild members weren't that interested in this, so they stay behind. Ben's kids wanted to go with them, but Mira stopped them because it was time for them to sleep.
Sometime later, they finally arrive and to their surprise, there were many dragon bones here. Natsu wondered if their dragon parents were here too. Gajeel on the other hand thought it was impossible because these dragons died a long time ago.
Ben didn't join their conversation as he chose to walk around with Bella. Unlike the others, he never met his dragon, so he didn't have any attachment and he never had a reason to look for Escanor. Also, he knew from Quorra that Escanor died long ago, and nothing remains of the Sun Dragon.
He checked the dragon bones and touched them one by one. The others will think he was just curious, but Ben was actually trying to feel the dragons' leftover magic. They died hundreds of years ago, but dragons are strong magical creatures, so there should be magic residue left in their bones.
His assumption was correct as he could feel magic power in the bones. Their magic power is very weak, but he can at least tell what types of magic they had. It doesn't seem like much, but by feeling the dragons magic power, he can further understand Dragon Slayer Magic.
As he went around, he suddenly felt the surrounding area's magic power increase. He looks for the source and spots Wendy using a spell to call a dragon's soul. It's a spell known as Milky Way that was taught by Grandeeney through Porlyusica, her Edolas counterpart.
The dragon soul that Wendy called was a dragon with a greenish color. Ben saw the dragon soul try to intimidate the others, but he doesn't do anything. He just stayed in the dark and watched as he knew everything would be fine.
This dragon soul can't do anything to them because it doesn't have any power, unlike Atlas Flame. This dragon is also called by Wendy using a spell to simply have a conversation so Ben stayed behind to observe this dragon soul.
The dragon introduced himself as Zirconis, the Emerald Dragon. He has a rather irritating personality, especially towards humans. Zirconis was a dragon who went to war with humans during the era of dragons, so he hates humans.
He also looks down on humans and even tried to eat Wendy who called him. Natsu, Gajeel, Sting and Rogue were startled by it and tried to attack him. Zirconis also tries to attack them, but none of them can touch each other.
Ben just sighed because he knew this would happen. The dragon was just playing with those who don't know that his spirit can't make physical contact with living beings. Even if they can't touch each other, Ben can still feel the power inside Zirconis's soul, which can give him valuable data.
Ben just watched Zirconis tease the others before giving them a history lesson. It's basically the same thing Ben learned from Smog the Heat Dragon. Zirconis told them about the war between humans and dragons, then how some dragons support humans, making the dragons split apart.
Then he also told them about Acnologia, a man who became a dragon after killing numerous dragons in the past. All dragons that were buried in this place were killed by Acnologia. Acnologia became the Dragon King and then the Dragon King Festival was started, which now turned into the Grand Magic Games.
Not long after telling the story, Zirconis's soul vanished and returned to the afterlife. The Dragon Slayers mull over the information they just received. They wonder if they'll become dragons too. Ben never told them this because they will be too worried about it.
Then as they talk about it and Ben continued to inspect the dragon bones, someone suddenly appeared and told them that they don't need to worry about it. It was Arcadios, the chief of the kingdom's Holy Knight Squad. He was accompanied by a familiar face, Yukino.
Ben remained hidden to find out what Arcadios wants because he might change the topic if Ben came out of hiding. He stayed in the dark while observing their conversation. He overheard Arcadios told them of the plan to kill Zeref.
Ben was confused about why they wanted to kill Zeref. Arcadios then said that killing Zeref is the first step to stop Acnologia. The kingdom believed that killing Zeref will weaken Acnologia or something.
Arcadios then explained that his group was the one that tried to kidnap Lucy a few times. They initially mistook Wendy for Lucy, that's why she was also a target. All their attempts failed though because someone intervened.
Ben was the one who stopped them, so naturally they didn't succeed. Now he finally understood why he couldn't find the culprit. It's because they're knights, and he never suspected them because they were all over the city.
Arcadios then led them to the castle as they talk about it and Ben stealthily followed them. Fortunately, the Fairy Tail mages weren't searching for him, so Arcadios was none the wiser. They continue to talk and Arcadios explained that the Grand Magic Games was established to collect a lot of magic power for the plan they're about to carry out.
He then told them that the plan is to open the massive, ancient door that they see now after walking deep into the castle. It needs the 12 Zodiac keys and a massive amount of magic power to be activated.
This door is connected to the past, 400 years to be specific. The plan is to change the past by killing Zeref before he gained immortality. If Zeref didn't become a immortal, then Acnologia wouldn't become a dragon. That's what the kingdom believed.
"Ha ha ha, that's ridiculous." Kenshin burst out laughing at their plan. "Changing the past by killing Zeref before he became a immortal won't stop Acnologia's transformation. This is because Acnologia changed into a dragon after undergoing dragonization."
"What?" Arcadios was in disbelief.
He was about to ask for Lucy's assistance as she held the other Zodiac keys. But then, a large group of guards appear and surround the group. The guards were led by Darton, the Kingdom's minister of defense, who is just a hunched old man.
Darton was displeased that Arcadios told outsiders about the plan. Then he went on to say that it was too dangerous to change history. Therefore he could not allow Arcadios to carry out this plan involving traveling to the past through the Eclipse Gate.
Darton then ordered the guards to apprehend Arcadios and Yukino for treason. Then they also capture Lucy because she is an important part of the plan. Natsu tried to save her, but his magic power was sucked up by the Eclipse Gate, causing him to lose consciousness.
Then, the guards kick the other Fairy Tail members out of the castle. Darton said that the king had taken a liking to them, so he wants to see their battle on the last day. If they can show exciting battles on the last day, they will receive a chance to speak to the king and ask for Lucy's freedom.
The Fairies are angry, but they can't do anything right now. Their opponent was the kingdom, and they're just a guild in this kingdom. Makarov also thought it was unwise to go against the kingdom after they returned and told him what happened.
"We can't take the fight to them because we're not just up against the kingdom. Other guilds will face us as well after the kingdom declares us traitors. However, we can't take the kingdom's word at face value, we need to come up with a way to save Lucy on our own." Makarov said.
Everyone nods and agrees.
"Where are Ben and Bella?" Mira asked.
Everyone remembered that they went with the Dragon Slayers before. Even the Dragon Slayers also remembered because they disappeared after they arrived in the dragon graveyard. They didn't realize the two were gone because they were too focused on the dragons and Arcadios's story.
Inside the castle, Darton returned to the throne room after kicking the Fairies out. He wanted to meet the king and report his task. He then stopped in his tracks and his eyes widened as he saw the king in the throne room.
"MY KING?!" Darton yelled as he tried to run.
"Whoa. Stop right there, little geezer. I'm sure you don't want your king's head to roll on the floor, right?"
The one who asked this question was Ben who is being searched by the guards. He is sitting on the throne with Bella on his lap while holding Pendragon that was stabbed into the floor. And right beside that sword is the king's neck. The king is lying on the floor, facing downwards as Ben stepped on his back.
Ben then angrily said. "I don't know what made you so bold to do all these things to my friends. But you should know that I can destroy this city faster than you can call for help. Now, let's have a serious talk, old bastards."
