Kayla Correa arrived home from Puerto Rico and went straight to her granddaughter Kristina's house. When she arrived at the house, Kristina let her in and hugged each other.

"Hi, baby," she said with a smile

"Hi, Abuela," she said

They pulled back, and Kayla ask "And how are little Stephen and my namesake Kayla doing?"

Krissy smiles and answers, "little Stephen and your namesake Kayla are fine, Abuela."

"Bueno, and you baby," she said as they walked toward the kitchen."

"I am good, Abuela, but there is something you need to know, though," she said, entering the kitchen.

"Okay, what do I need to know baby," she said, pouring herself some coffee.

Krissy sighed and said, "Well, grandma, I finally opened the manila envelope you gave me a few years ago."

"Okay, so what was inside that envelope?" She asked, sipping her coffee.

"Grandma sits down, please," she said as Kayla looked at her granddaughter

Kayla sat down, and Krissy said, "Grandma, I am not Catherine Rose Correa's biological daughter."

'What?"

"Let me show you what I find inside the envelope," she said, walking out of the kitchen and going to retrieve the manila envelope.

Kayla sat there thinking about what her granddaughter had just told her. Then, Kristina came walking back into the kitchen with the manila envelope. She sat down at the table and pulled out the papers inside the manila envelope. Krissy hands her grandma the paper saying that Catherine is not her biological mother. Kayla could not believe what she was reading. She read the paper and saw that Linda Marie McMahon is her granddaughter's biological mother.

"Who is Linda Marie McMahon, baby?" She asked

"My biological mother, grandma," she replied

"She was the surrogate then?" She asked

"No, grandma, she was not the surrogate. She and dad had an affair thirty – five years ago. Dad hid it from mom, auntie Kassie, uncle, Carlos, you, and grandpa."

"No wonder why he was overbearing toward you."

"Yes, grandma, mama left me this letter," she said, handing her the letter.

Dear Krissy,

I loved to spend today with you, it was an extraordinary Mother's Day for me, and I love you very much. You will always be my daughter no matters what you choose to do, sweetheart, and what do I mean by that, honey? Well, I am not your biological mother. I am your stepmother, and I know this is a big shock for you; you are not the only one who is shocked; honey, I am too. But this is the god truth, baby. I was lied to by my husband when he told me that you were our daughter.

I had several miscarriages before you were born. I nearly died, so dad did not want to risk losing me, so we decided on a surrogate to carry you, so I thought, but instead, my husband had an affair with your biological mother, and she deserves to know you too, baby. So do this for yourself, baby. I want you to have a mother/ daughter relationship with your biological mother.

I will always love you, and in my heart, you will always be my daughter. Inside the manila envelope, there is information on your biological mother. I had my attorney gather as much information she can for you, where you can find her. You even have three older siblings and a stepfather too. Krissy, do not be too hard on your biological mother when you meet her for the first time, be respectful. She gets the respect you have to earn her and her family. Please do not be rude. I did not raise you to act that way. Inside the manila envelope, there is a letter addressed to your biological mother; please see that she got it, and do not read it, either, Krissy.

Kayla puts the letter down, looks at her granddaughter, and says, "Have you met your biological mother-baby."

"Yes, grandma, I met my mother. Linda is a wonderful, loving woman."

Kayla smiled and said, "Did she give you answers."

"Yes, grandma, she explains what happened and how dad gets full sole custody."

"Full sole custody of you?"

"Yes, grandma, it seems that thirty-five years ago, my mother's husband cheated on her, and she found out and did her cheat with dad, and it produced me. My mother, Linda, hid pregnancy by asking him for a trial separation. Nine months later, on her birthday, Oct 4, I was born."

"Wait, you and your biological mother Linda share a birthday."

"Yes."

'Wow"

"Anyway, after I was born, she signed away her parental rights to dad, who had her parental right terminated so she could not fight for custody."

"Krissy, I am not a lawyer here, and I know that you know the law, but it takes at least forty-five days for one parent's right to be terminated."

'I know grandma, my mother had a change of heart and wanted shared custody, but her lawyer told her she was too late; Linda's parental rights were terminated after I was born."

'That son of a bitch. Your dad, my son, made sure your mother could never see you."

"Yes, grandma, that way he was the way he was with me."

"Well, he is lucky that he died because I would have no problem kicking his ass for this."

Krissy smiled and said, "My grandma love to kick ass."

Kayla chuckled and said, "Yes, especially when it comes to you, baby. If I had known honey, I would have made sure that you met your mother."

"I know grandma, but it's not your fault; dad went to great length to make sure no one knew what he did."

"True"

"So, on Saturday after Alex Jr. Holy Communion, my mother Linda, Stepfather Vince, Sister Stephanie with her family, and brother Vincent and his family are coming to the house."

"Great, I cannot wait to meet the woman who gave me my granddaughter."
