Kassie Carrasco arrived at her niece's house. Kristina let her in and hugged each other.
"Hi, sweetheart," she said with a smile
"Hi, Auntie," she said
They pulled back, and Kassie ask "And how are you doing?"
Krissy smiles and answers, " Me, I am good, auntie."
"Good, and little Stephen and Kayla?" she said as they walked toward the kitchen."
"Both little Stephen and Kayla are good, Auntie," she said, entering the kitchen, and Kassie saw her mom sitting at the table.
"Hi, mama," she said, with a smile walking over to her.
"Hi, sweetie," she said, kissing her.
"Um, auntie, I opened the manila envelope."
"And?" She asked
Krissy said, "Auntie, I am not Catherine Rose Correa's biological daughter."
Kassie looked at her niece said, "What, Krissy?"
"Kassie, your godchild, is not the biological daughter of your sister-in-law Catherine."
Krissy hands auntie Kassie the paper saying that Catherine is not her biological mother. Kassie was stunned by what she was reading and saw Linda Marie McMahon as her godchild biological mother.
"This Linda Marie Mcmahon is your biological mother, Krissy?" She asked, sitting down at the table
"Yes, auntie," she replied
"She wasn't the surrogate either?" She asked
"Yes, auntie. My mom Linda and dad had an affair thirty-five years ago. Dad hid it from mom, you, uncle, Carlos, grandma, and grandpa."
"Well, it explains why I couldn't find undercover some deep dark secret."
"Yes, Auntie."
"Catherine mama left Krissy this letter," Kayla said, handing Kassie, who read the letter.
Dear Krissy,
I loved to spend today with you, it was an extraordinary Mother's Day for me, and I love you very much. I will always be my daughter no matters what you choose to do, sweetheart, and what do I mean by that, honey? Well, I am not your biological mother. I am your stepmother, and I know this is a big shock for you; you are not the only one who is shocked; honey, I am too. But this is the god hones actual baby. I was lied to by my husband when he told me that you were our daughter.
I had several miscarriages before you were born. I nearly died, so dad did not want to risk losing me, so we decided on a surrogate to carry you, so I thought, but instead, my husband had an affair with your biological mother, and she deserves to know you too, baby. So do this for yourself, baby. I want you to have a mother/ daughter relationship with your biological mother.
I will always love you, and in my heart, you will always be my daughter. Inside the manila envelope, there is information on your biological mother. I had my attorney gather as much information she can for you, where you can find her. You even have three older siblings and a stepfather too. Krissy, do not be too hard on your biological mother when you meet her for the first time, be respectful. She gets the respect you have to earn her and her family. Please do not be rude. I did not raise you to act that way. Inside the manila envelope, there is a letter addressed to your biological mother; please see that she got it, and do not read it, either, Krissy.
Kassie puts the letter down, looks at her mama and niece, and says, "did you see your biological mother, Linda."
"Yes, auntie, I have met my mother. I was telling grandma that my mom Linda is a wonderful, loving woman who regrets signing away her parental rights."
"Wait, Krissy, she regrets signing away her parental rights.."
"Yes, auntie. Thirty-five years ago, my mother's husband cheated on her; she found out and cheated with dad, which produced me. My mother, Linda, hid pregnancy by asking her husband for a trial separation. Nine months later, on her birthday, Oct 4, I was born."
"Wow."
"Wow is the right word, Kassie. I am still stunned."
"Anyway, after I was born, and signing away her parental rights to me, my father had my mother's parental rights terminated so she could not fight for custody of me."
"Krissy, you and I both know the law, but it takes forty-five days for one parent's parental rights to be terminated."
'I know Auntie, My mother had a change of heart and wanted shared custody, but her lawyer told her she was too late; her parental rights were terminated; after I was born."
'I cannot believe how low my brother stoop to keep your biological mother out of your life, sweetheart."
"Me either, auntie. He made sure that she couldn't even fight for shared custody."
"I did not raise him to be vindictive."
"Yes, mama, but the moment Krissy was born, he changed and not in a good way either. He turned into a dictator when Krissy became a teenager."
"Well, like I told Krissy, he is lucky that he dead because I would have no problem kicking his ass for this."
Kassie chuckled and said, "I have no doubt, mama."
Kayla chuckle
"Tomorrow Auntie, after Alex Jr., First Holy Communion, my mother Linda, Stepfather Vince, sister Stephanie with her family, and brother Vincent with his family are coming to the house."
"Great."
