The Carrera family settles in to watch WWE Monday Night RAW. "Then. Now. Forever." Flash on the Flat screen TV. A video leads into the show.
The RAW intros happen, and a live shot inside the Amelia arena, as the pyros go off. The music of Seth Rollins is playing, as he Rollins makes his way to the ring, they advertise his WWE Battleground match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the Champion Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.
Rollins took the mic and said, "In four weeks at WWE Battleground everyone will get the match they've wanted all three former members of the Shield in a triple threat match."
Rollins pauses for a moment, and says, "It's time to talk about Roman Reigns, even though he's not supposed to." People boo the mention of his name.
Rollins says, "The Reigns scandal embarrassed him. As the architect of the Shield, he brought Reigns into the fold; Reigns' embarrassment is a stain on Rollins' reputation." Rollins then reads Reigns' tweet out loud: "I apologize to my family, friends, and fans for my mistake in violating the WWE's wellness policy. No excuses. I own it."
Rollins criticizes the tweet. Back when they were in The Shield, Reigns didn't care what the fans thought and didn't have any friends who could own it all he wanted, but the bottom line is he owns Reigns. He owned Reigns last year at WrestleMania, and he owned him at Money in the Bank when he beat him for the WWE Championship. Rollins says, "Reigns doesn't deserve to be in the main event of Battleground. The right thing to do is take Reigns out of the match, and give him the one-on-one match against Dean Ambrose for the WWE Title that he rightfully deserves." The crowd is mostly receptive to the idea.
Dean Ambrose's music hits, and the WWE Champion makes his way to the ring. Ambrose gets a nice reception as he gets into the ring. Ambrose stalls for a bit, and taunts Rollins.
Ambrose says, "Rollins looks worked in, and jerky. Is this really about Reigns or is it about him having the title?"
Ambrose says, "Reigns made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes."
Ambrose used to be friends with Rollins, so he made a huge mistake. Rollins wears skinny jeans, which is a huge mistake.
Ambrose says, "Reigns made a mistake, and owned it. Unless he has a New Day time machine, there's nothing that can be done about it. In his mind, the triple threat match is still on."
AJ Styles' music hits and he comes out to a nice reception. The crowd chants "AJ Styles"
Styles says, "Rollins should listen to Ambrose because Battleground should have a triple threat match… only with him in the match."
The crowd does a "YES" chant.
Styles says, "He's the guy who should be involved. Take out Reigns, and put him in the match and all will be right with the world."
Ambrose asked him who did you beat. You lose to John Cena at Money in the Bank.
Ambrose says, "He doesn't make the decisions around here, but Reigns is still in the match. Styles requests to be put in the match because you think that you deserve it."
Rollins says, "This needs to be a one-on-one match."
John Cena music hits, and the face that runs the place makes his way to the ring to a huge reception.
Cena got a mic, and said, "Dean Ambrose is a fighting champion. Ambrose will fight a friend, a foe, and a fraud. Will he fight the franchise? Maybe there's a mixed opinion, but he's held the title fifteen times. Fourteen years ago today he had his first WWE match, so this is his WWE birthday. If you're really checking your facts, for the last twelve years he's lived in Tampa."
WWE Universe pops and Cena says, "The most important thing is the last time he faced Dean Ambrose with a championship on the line, Cena won."
The look on Ambrose's face says times are changing so he can prove it at Battleground, it should be a Fatal Five-way!
Stephanie McMahon's music hits, and she comes out to huge pops from the WWE Universe. Stephanie smiled at the fans, and said, "She has a solution to their problem, but before she does, she wants to commiserate with Rollins. What happened with Reigns is an embarrassment, but even worse is the fact that standing in the ring, you criticize Reigns for his mistake."
She says, "How can we reconcile this? She mentions that her older Shane McMahon is not there tonight, and the WWE Universe cheers, and Stephanie chuckles.
She goes on to say, "She will take matters into her own hands. She likes the idea of John Cena joining the match, but that has to be earned."
She announced Cena vs. Rollins for tonight, if Cena wins, he will add to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at Battleground. She wishes Cena good luck. Stephanie's music hits, as they show graph Shane, Vince Sr., and Kristina will meet to discuss Shane's qualification to run RAW. Back from the break, the Carrera family sees Lana in the ring and she introduces WWE United States Champion Rusev for this non-title match. Titus O'Neil is out next, and immediately attacks before the bell, and sends Rusev to the corner after unloading. They separate and start the match. The match starts with back-and-forth action, The match ends up on the floor, and Titus and Rusev collide at ringside with clotheslines. The referee begins counts, and Titus sends Rusev through the barricade and makes it back into the ring before the count 10. Rusev is counted out for this non-title loss. After the match, Rusev clutches the title, as Titus is all smiles in the ring.

He wants just one minute to talk. Kane heard Shane wouldn't be here, and all he wants is one chance to run SmackDown live, but Shane cannot get over their past.
Stephanie said, "Kane no disrespect here but Vincent told Laurinaitis last week, that his name was not on the list that my sister Kristina has. And I am telling you the same thing; your name is not on that list."
Maryse and WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz, appear. They have been off-shooting The Marine: 5 Battleground, and aren't happy with the welcome back.
Kane plugs his "Countdown" WWE Studios movie too. This led to Stephanie putting Miz in the title match tonight.
Stephanie says, "His opponent will be a surprise, what his acting coach would call a cliffhanger." Still to come, is Shane's qualification review with Kristina and Vince Sr., and coming up next is John Cena, vs. Seth Rollins. RAW goes back to commercials.
When RAW returned from the break, the announcers plugged John Cena hosting the ESPY Awards. Right to the ring and outcome Seth Rollins, then John Cena comes out next, Michael Cole talks about the stipulation if Cena wins this one, and he gets put into the WWE World Heavyweight Title match at Battleground. Cathy was happy when she saw her favorite male superstar John Cena.
Rollins and Cena start off slow, and go at it, as the crowd gets involved with dueling chants. Rollins ended up hitting a dropkick, then covered Cena for two counts early on in the match. Cena came right back with a dropkick of his own. Cena tries to keep control but runs into the elbow. Rollins covers him again for two counts. Rollins keeps Cena's ground now. Cena fights back up and nails a shoulder block, then a big slam, but Rollins sends him to the floor and then mocks him. Cena is on the floor as RAW goes back to commercials. When RAW returned from the break, Rollins was blocking an STF, but Cena made the usual comeback, but Rollins blocked the five-knuckles shuffle. Cena then drops him and hits the Shuffle. Rollins blocks Attitude Adjustment, and nails two kicks for two counts, Rollins runs into an elbow then Cena hits a DDT and covers him for close two counts.
Rollins ends up hitting Enziguri, but Cena kicks out at two. They get up, and begin trading shots in the middle of the ring, as the WWE Universe eggs them on; and then Rollins drops Cena with a kick, and goes to the top. Cena hits a right hand and the crotch him on the top rope.
Cena climbs up but Rollins counters and hits a powerbomb for a two-count. Cena blocks a Pedigree, and Rollins comes back with a crossbody out of the corner. Cena catches him and rolls through with Attitude Adjustment, but Rollins kicks out at two. There is more back-and-forth action including countering, Cena goes for the STF, but it's broken. AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows, come walking down the ramp, attacks the Cena, and the referee calls for the bell, disqualifying Rollins for outside interference.
Security runs out and stops the assault on Cena, and then Stephanie and Vincent appear on the stage. Vincent said, "Due to Styles, Anderson, and Gallows interfering in this match, John Cena is added to the WWE World Heavyweight title match, and Rollins can take out his frustration on the club in a match at Battleground. Rollins is screaming no!
