Kyandi: And I'm back as promised. Please greet my OC, Rory.

Rory: I finally get my story, huh? Took you long enough.

Kyandi: Hey, I had to figure out how I wanted to write this.

Rory: Again...took you long enough.

Kyandi: You're just impatient.

Rory: If you say so.

Kyandi: Anyway, let's get on with the chapter. This one is a little short, sorry! Please enjoy and review.

Rory: Kyandi-sama does not own Tokyo Revengers.

Chapter 2 Heaven's Door

Not this again.

In fifteen years, there had been several days in which Rory Kincaid, American immigrant, had the strong urge to just bang her head against the counter of the small bakery she worked at.

Drop.

Smack.

Repeat.

Today was one of those days.

The day had started all too early with Rory in the kitchen of the bakery. The thing about bakeries that most people didn't know was that, for those who worked there, the day began at four in the morning, if not earlier. It was an early enough day when she got off shift at her second job at midnight without having been awoken an hour later by rowdy boys too hard up to sleep like normal people.

So, feeling grouchier than normal and with aching in her shoulder from flipping a boy, Rory had woken up at her normal time and gotten to work. As one of her favorite songs put it...there's no rest for the wicked.

It was now closing in on ten in the morning, the busiest time in her day, and the bakery was full to bursting.

Heaven's Door Bakery.

Rory had laughed the first time she had seen the name of the bakery, but then she had tasted their baked goods and had found herself in heaven. Not to mention how incredibly good the owners had been to her. She wasn't even the only one who fell in love with the baked goods. From the moment the business opened until the moment it closed, it was packed with people. That wasn't even counting the number of pre-orders they got every day.

Rory was tired, and already so over what was to come.

Still, she kept a smile on her face as she served her customers. She got caught up in the swing of things, rushing back and forth. When the bell over the door range again, she turned to greet the customers as she always did.

"Welcome to Heaven's Door Bakery..." She paused, blinked, her eyes landing on the grinning boy before her. "...where every taste will have you knocking on heaven's door."

Grinning back at her was Mikey and few of his guys.

Mikey's grin almost faltered when a pause and a blink was all he got at his sudden appearance. The smirk only grew when his eyes scanned the blue apron baring golden angel wings she wore tied over her clothes, a dusting of flour covering one cheek.

"I'll be right with you," she told him before she turned back to her work as if they weren't even there. Mikey was content to sit back and wait, watching her as she quickly cleared out the others in the store. The customers all left with fleeting looks cast in Mikey's direction. They obviously knew who he and his boys were, and gave them a wide birth. When the last one was gone, leaving only Mikey and his guys, she turned to face them, wiping hands on her apron.

"May I help you?" Polite, to the point, her expression never changing from its neutral smile, and her accent carefully subdued. It made Mikey chuckle as he stepped forward to lean against the display case between him and her. "Please bare in mind, you already used your one get-out-of-the-shit-hole-free card. It's thanks to you and yours that I only got one hour of sleep last night."

Mikey's grin grew. "So you remember me."

"I might have been half asleep and I might be blonde, but I'm not blind or dumb."

"Half asleep?" Mikey laughed. "I've never met someone who can do that kind of damage while half asleep before."

A humming noise left her and when she spoke, her accent showed through. "Liar. All it take is one at 'em hands," Her eyes fell to his hands. "to tell me that you can do that and more. That said, if I can do that half asleep," Rory leaned forward a bit to look him in the eyes. "imagine what I can do fully awake." The warning was very clear, Rory straightening her back. "Now, is there somethin' I can help you with? If not, Imma have to ask ya to leave."

Mikey didn't let it bother him. "Do you know who we are?"

"Hmm...no, can't say that I do. Though, if I'm bein' honest...don't know, don't care."

Spunky.

Mikey liked her blatant honesty and her lack of fear in telling it how she saw it. So few had that lack of fear in the face of his possible wrath. "If I told you we're members of the Tokyo Manji Gang?"

Rory paused to make a show of considering the information before she ultimately shrugged her shoulders. "No, still don't care. My metaphorical basket of fucks is empty." She gave him a brief smile before returning to her work, fearlessly turning her back on him.

"Are you stupid?" Mitsuya asked bluntly.

Rory glanced back at him. "I believe I already answered that. Blonde, not stupid. If the accent don't give it away, I'm American. I don't really care what Japanese gangs get up to in their territorial disputes. Well, as long as you don't wake me up, that is. I have to be in this bakery at four every mornin' and your little fight shaved off time of my precious sleep."

"What's an American doing here?" Angry asked.

"Tryin' to make a livin'. What are a couple of gang hotshots doin' in a bakery?" Rory raised an eyebrow when Angry didn't know how to answer that. "If you ain't willin' to answer questions, don't ask 'em." Rory turned back to her work, restocking the display cases while there was a lull in business. "Anything else you want?"

"Yeah...your name."

Rory turned to look at Mikey as he grinned back at her. "You're cute, but I already told you...figure it out on your own."

Mikey watched her intently as she turned back to what she was doing. "Do you make everyone play this guessing game?"

"Nope." Rory pulled a tray out of a case that was empty, turning to slide it through a window that looked into the kitchen. "Consider this punishment for wakin' me up last night."

"I thought you said that everyone got one free card." Draken remarked.

"Hmm..." Rory shrugged her shoulder. "This is just a punishment for him."

Mikey raised an eyebrow when she jerked a thumb at him. "Why me?"

Rory paused long enough to look at him over the counter. "Like I said, your cute. I like messin' with cute things. It's a great pass time. So, get to guessin'."

She moved past him, Mikey watching her. She didn't seem to care that he was burning holes into the back of her head like he might lose his temper. Her utter indifference made him smile. "What do I get if I figure it out?"

"A pat on the back?" Her shoulders lifted in a shrug. "I suppose that can be up for discussion if you ever find it out."

"Deal." Mikey leaned further forward, smirking at her when he caught her gaze. "Until then, I'll call you Angel."

The girl scoff. "The hell ya will."

"Then give me a name."

Rory rolled her eyes. "Not gonna be that easy."

Her response only made his grin grow. "Then Angel it is."

Rory heaved a sigh, dismissing him with a wave as she turned away from him. She had a feeling that arguing with him on this wouldn't change the fact that he would insist on calling her that. "Fine, whatever. Just go on and get. My customers won't come near this place with ya here."

Mikey was pleased with himself as they left the bakery and his mystery girl behind. When the doors closed behind them, Draken looked down at Mikey. "We're going to be seeing a lot of her, aren't we?"

"Yeah," Mikey smiled widely, jamming his hands into his pockets. "Have the guys ask around about her. I want her name."

Thus begun the hung for the name of Mikey's Angel.

Kyandi: ….

Rory: You can stop laughing now.

Kyandi: I'm sorry, but it's funny!

Rory: You're the one that decided to go with this angel and demon theme.

Kyandi: And I'm still laughing. I would be so annoyed with a guy insisted on calling me Angel.

Rory: And yet, you enjoy putting me through it.

Kyandi: Well, of course. All writers like to torment their characters to some degree.

Rory: I hate you.

Kyandi: No you don't. Anyways, everyone, please enjoy and review!

Rory: We'll be back as soon as possible.

Kyandi: Bye-bye!
