As they neared the end of the breach, the tunnel abruptly closed, leaving them with no choice but to crash-land on the Didact's ship. The Broadswords impacted with controlled force, skidding across the surface before coming to a halt. Both Spartans emerged from their damaged vehicles, ready to face the next challenges that awaited them on the Didact's vessel.

"Well, Chief, it seems like your flying skills are rubbing off on Palmer. Two crashes in one day. What a way to make an impression!" The AI's rampancy coming in the form of playful banter served as a brief moment of levity amid the intense mission.

"What's our next move?" Cortana inquired.

Palmer, having disembarked from her Broadsword, stood alongside the Master Chief. Giving a quick nod to his partner, the Chief turned his attention back to the fighter, extracting the nuclear warhead from its housing and affixing it to the magnetic holster on his lower back. "Time for plan B."

As the Spartans moved forward through the passageways of the Didact's ship Cortana's rampancy was being put on full display. "Chief, I know I'm suppose to know what to do, But.." A clearly confused Cortana stated.

"We'll have to deploy the warhead manually. How and Where?" The Chief questioned trying to get Cortana back on mission.

"I always know what to do. I always know what to do! Just give me a second…" Cortana stated trying to pull herself together.

"Just keep scanning for the Composer. We'll figure it out on the way there." Ordered the Chief

The Didact took that moment to make his thoughts once again known. "Where reason dose not stop you, perhaps force can at least delay you."

As Palmer took the lead and moved through the corridors of the Didact's ship, a blast door suddenly closed behind her, separating her from the Master Chief. Cortana was swiftly inserted into the ship's interface to override the lockdown and reopen the door. Meanwhile, on the other side, Palmer found herself confronted by three imposing Brutes, one of whom was a Chieftain. The sudden encounter triggered her PTDS, and the Chief, realizing her distress, spoke through their neural link to bring her back to reality.

"Sarah, I'm here with you. You're not alone," the Chief reassured her, emphasizing their bond. This connection snapped Palmer out of her momentary nightmare. With determination, she swiftly dispatched the first Brute using her Helljumper's toothpick, grabbed the fallen Brute shot, and executed a precise shot to the chest of the second Brute.

The Chieftain roared, swinging his massive gravity hammer at Palmer with brutal force. She deftly dodged the initial strike, showcasing her agility. Closing the distance, Palmer delivered a series of rapid punches and kicks, exploiting her speed against the Chieftain's slower movements.

The Chieftain retaliated with a powerful backhand, but Palmer ducked under the blow and executed a swift uppercut. Unfazed, the Chieftain attempted a ground-pound attack, but Palmer rolled away just in time, narrowly avoiding the shockwave.

Seizing the opportunity, Palmer closed in again, delivering a relentless barrage of powerful blows to the Chieftain's midsection. Each strike resonated like a jackhammer on concrete, shattering armor and bone alike.

In the echoing corridors of his mind, the Chieftain grappled with the urgency of the situation. He acknowledged the overwhelming menace of the Spartan before him, a force that transcended the natural order. The survival instincts that had guided him through countless battles screamed for him to gain distance, to break free from the imminent threat. In a blind frenzy of desperation, the Chieftain lashed out with a backhand, a wild swing fueled by rage that connected with Palmer. The impact sent her hurtling backward, the sheer force propelling her until she came to an abrupt rest, one knee down and the other raised.

Capitalizing on the opening, the massive Chieftain hoisted his gravity hammer high, poised to unleash a devastating blow aimed at Palmer's head. The weapon descended with thunderous force. However, just before it could connect with its intended target, a lone hand, defiant and resolute, surged upward. Palmer's hand intercepted the hammer's head with unyielding strength, creating a shockwave that reverberated outward upon , still on her knees, stared at the ground, but her grip on the gravity hammer head remained resolute.

Caught off guard by the unexpected resistance, the Chieftain found himself straining against Palmer's unyielding hold. Internally, his frustration simmered, his thoughts a growling discontent. "How can this human match me? I've crushed hundreds of its kind with little to no effort." The underlying tone carried a tinge of disbelief at being outdone by a mere human, and a female at that.

Slowly, she began to rise, lifting the gravity hammer with her. In a display of incredible strength, Palmer stood tall, still holding the gravity hammer with one hand she raised her helmet until her visor glowed red and locked with the Chieftain's eyes. The Chieftain, now facing an opponent who matched his strength, roared in frustration. Palmer, smirking behind her helmet undeterred questioned "Oh, sweetheart, is that all you've got?"

She then disarmed him with a quick twist, sending the gravity hammer clattering to the ground. The Chieftain, now weaponless, attempted a wild charge, but Palmer sidestepped with ease and countered with a devastating roundhouse kick.

The Chieftain staggered, and Palmer capitalized on his momentary vulnerability. She performed a precise series of strikes, targeting pressure points and joints, exploiting her knowledge of his anatomy. The Chieftain was overwhelmed by Palmer's agility and combat finesse, felt this life slipping away with each strike.

With a final, powerful kick to the head, Palmer sent the Chieftain's massive body soaring over the edge and into the abyss below. The once formidable opponent defeated, and Palmer stood victorious, Loosing a roar of a battle cry, showcasing not only her physical strength but also her exceptional combat skills.

The air hung thick with the lingering essence of combat as Sarah Palmer stood frozen in a fighting pose, grappling with the surreal reality of what had just transpired. The mere sight of the Brutes had initially transported her back to the traumatic memories of her capture by a Brute squad during her time with the ODST fireteam. It threatened to paralyze her, pushing her towards the abyss of past horrors.

Yet, in that vulnerable moment, it was the reassuring presence of The Master Chief. No, that wasn't entirely correct; it had been John who pulled her back from the brink. His words, reaching out to her, served as the anchor she desperately needed to confront the haunting memories she had tightly locked away for so long. The subsequent battle had not only shocked her but brought forth a profound self-realization. The enhancements bestowed upon her by the Librarian had transformed her into something beyond her wildest dreams. The newfound strength and resilience were revelations she hadn't fully grasped until now.

Palmer was jolted back to the present as the blast door slid open, and through it emerged the Master Chief, weapon drawn and ready to engage any enemy that presented itself. As he drew alongside her, he placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, a silent question conveyed by his helmeted face (Are you okay?). In that moment, her restraint on her emotions crumbled, and she embraced him, needing the release his strong, safe embrace allowed.

After a moment, the two Spartans separated, the bond between them strengthened, their devotion to each other and the mission reaffirmed. The Chief handed Palmer a Magnum pistol as he brought their helmets together in a gentle head-butt, drawing a smirk and a laugh from his fellow Spartan. They were ready to face the coming battle, whatever form it may take.

Cortana's digital voice chimed in, "You two make quite the dynamic duo. It's heartening to witness the strength of your connection. Just remember, I've got your virtual backs too. Together, there's nothing we can't handle."

The Spartan's continued on fighting through wave after wave of Promethean's/Covenant. As they reach a gravity lift Cortana once again had a rampancy episode. "I won't leave you. I promise. I'll take care of you."

As the Spartan duo reached the bottom, Cortana pulled herself together once again. "Still good for something, I guess. I have detected an energy source ahead. I think it's a transit system like on Requiem. Find a way to access it"

The Chief strode towards the control podium. "I'll try to route us to the Composer. Put me in the system." Cortana instructed.

The Didact never one to miss the opportunity to make his opinions known took that moment to voice his thoughts. "Is this the secret you have kept from me? This.. evolved ancilla?"

"The Didact knowns I'm in the system. Hurry!Go!" Cortana instructed as she formed a portal for her Spartan's.

As the Spartan pair battled through foes to the second portal Cortana created for them. The Didact's voice pipped up again. "I can sense your malfunctioning companion, Humans. Yet she eludes me."

Upon reaching the destination of the second portal, Cortana's strained voice echoed in the Spartans' helmets. "Can't fight… Didact… and…. Myself… simultaneously." The struggle in Cortana's digital voice conveyed the herculean effort she was exerting to protect her Spartans. "Opening another portal."The struggle in Cortana's digital voice conveyed the herculean effort she was putting herself through to protect her Spartan's.

"I'm sorry, I can't control what my processes are doing. The stronger threads keep reprioritizing themselves over me." Cortana explained

"What about the Didact?" Questioned the Master Chief.

"I can't hide much longer. I'll try to move you to the Composer again." Cortana struggled. "I've got it. I've locked him out of the system, but I don't know for how long. I need one of you to get me. I can't go on my own."

Spartan Palmer being the closest to the Podium retrieved Cortana before the group made their way to the location of the Composer.

"How do we get over there?" Palmer questioned Cortana

"Conveyor lift, end of the ramp. If we time it right our momentum should carry us through the low gravity." Cortana instructed as they approached. Once they where in the air hurtling towards the Composer Cortana chimed in. "Once that warhead is primed, the window for getting out of here is going to be pretty slim."

"We know." Both Spartans affirmed, their acknowledgment carrying the weight of the grim future ahead. Yet, this daunting prospect failed to waver their commitment to each other and the entire human race, their duty standing resolute in the face of impending peril.

Mid flight the roof above the Composer retracts giving a striking view of Earth, Before the Didact speak's once again. "And So… you have come at last."

"Activity, Significant slipspace event building under the Composer!" Cortana informed the Spartan's what her sensor's where reading.

"He's Power it up." The Chief and Palmer said as one. Upon landing our hero's made their way to the Composers core where they could see the Didact floating before it.

"The Didact's shielded himself inside the Composer. The nuke won't do us any good if we don't disable that barrier. Find me a terminal." Cortana instructed Palmer.

Once she had reached the terminal Palmer swiftly inserted her data chip. Cortana's Holographic image appeared above the terminal and she turned to face her Spartan's. "I've got to do something that you're not going to like." Cortana stated before she yelled and began splitting apart.

"What did you just do?" The Chief questioned with concern for his friend.

"I ejected my rampant personality spikes into the system. If I do that at each of those beams, the copy's can overwhelm the Composers shielding." Cortana relayed to her friends. They repeated the process at one of the other beam locations and where moving to the last location when Cortana spoke up again. "Now! Before the Didact sends reinforcements."

Cortana, mirroring her actions at other critical junctures, expelled her rampant personality spikes into the system. In a pivotal moment, the shield surrounding the Didact disintegrated. "And yet you still fail," mocked the Didact as the Composer unleashed its destructive force upon Earth.
