Beginning AN: here it is the next chapter. read and review but flame reviews will be ignored. in regards to Draco's female name and appearance don't get confused on it being the same one as the name used in Tiny Kong Potter. Lyra will remain human in this story. and in regards to the all girl's school Lyra gets sent to I can picture it being Mahora from the Negima franchise. if anyone wants to do a spin-off of this story to tell readers how that goes I give my permission. my main focus is the stories that open the door for the possible spin-offs. now on with the story.
Chapter 30: Harry Potter Year 1 part 3
The next morning Tooty and Hermione received their schedules with breakfast and headed to their first class transfiguration where McGonagall began the lesson before turning into a cat and sitting on the demand watching. About halfway through the class Ron Weasley finally showed up as Tooty helped Hermione, Gruntilda having already given her the lessons for the first year of classes before they found out about Hogwarts, so she was more of a teachers assistant this year.
Ron looked around and not seeing Mcgonagall cheered. "Yes! Despite getting lost the teacher isn't here so I am not late!"
"Yes you are." McGonagall said turning back to normal. "Perhaps I should change you into a map so you don't get lost again?"
Ron just gulped and headed to his seat where the lesson continued, though Ron was the only one that refused to let Tooty help believing that she couldn't help.
The next class was Charms where Flitwick had them learning Lumos and Nox. Unfortunately for Ron he once again refused to listen to Tooty, and did the exact opposite of what she said, making him the only one who failed to get the magic to work.
"Stupid bear, what would a bear know about magic." Ron muttered as they headed to potions.
Inside the potions class they met Gruntilda.
"Hello everyone, As you heard during the sorting feast, I won't be teaching the N.E.W.T classes of potions. Please listen carefully as we go over potion safety. Except for Tooty, you can go into the room next door, and finish the potion in there."
"Why would a bear be allowed to work on a potion before us." Ron complained as Tooty left.
"That will be 10 points from Gryffindor Mr. Weasley." Gruntilda said. "For your insult And that bear is my apprentice. I had already taught her everything from the first year magic courses before we found out about Hogwarts, plus a few things not taught at Hogwarts at all. Now that we know about Hogwarts I am teaching her things Hogwarts does not teach while she learns the Hogwarts lessons here. It is why for this year she is acting as a teaching assistant. She already knows the lessons. As for the potion that is a potion she was working on and is one of the lessons I am giving her as my apprentice, that specific potion is used to awaken any latent gifts the one who drinks it has. "
At that mostly everyone decided to leave her alone, with the exception of Ron and Draco who were both jealous that a bear had gotten an apprenticeship. Though Draco would plan while Ron would insult her often.
A couple weeks later it was time for the first flying lesson which started off okay, but quickly collapsed when Neville took off early and fell off and broke his wrist. While the teacher was taking him to the hospital wing, Tooty noticed Malfoy reaching down to grab Neville's Remembrall, and quickly grabbing it first.
"I don't think this belongs to you." Tooty said to Draco, who looked back at some of the death eater children who had spent the past couple months changing him back to how he would be if he was raised by his parents instead of his aunt.
Draco then looked forward with a sneer. "I think I should teach you a lesson in not interfering with your betters. Midnight tonight in the trophy room. I challenge you to a wizards duel."
Tooty was about to refuse when Ron spoke up and said "I'll take you on instead. After all as a bear she can't possible be intelligent enough to survive."
"Hey!" Tooty yelled.
"It's true." Ron waved her off. "Let those smarter talk."
Draco laughed before nodding. "Fine see you then."
Ron was smug and ignored Tooty and Hermione yelling at him.
That night Tooty, Hermione, and Gruntilda arrived in the trophy room at Midnight with Tooty having told Gruntilda as her mistress, and Hermione coming along as second if needed since they did not know if the duel was magically enforced and would bind to Tooty or Ron if it was. When they got there they found the room empty, causing Gruntilda to turn to a nearby portrait.
"Excuse me has anyone been here tonight." She asked getting a nod.
"Indeed a red head boy was here about ten minutes ago but when Filch came around he left saying that some cad set him up." The portrait said causing the three to realize it was a trap and Ron left to avoid it. It was at this point they heard a terrifying scream and rushed to find out who it was before paling when they found the third floor out of bounds corridor had a neglected and starving Cerberus shaking the screaming Ron around before it ripped Ron in three, one head had the head, one the body and one the legs that it then swallowed. Unfortunately for the dog Ron wasn't the most hygienic, and the dogs neglected and starved state rendered its immune system weaker, weak enough for Ron to make it sick and die.
At this point the other teachers arrived along with Filch, having been further away.
"What happened here." Dumbledore said getting an explanation of why Tooty, Hermione and Gruntilda were here. Them using some of Snape's Veritesrum to prove they were telling the truth about it and that they got there to late to save Ron, only arriving just in time to see his death.
Because of why Ron was there in the first place Draco was the one blamed for setting them up, and he was suspended and his aunt was informed who kept her word about Draco's punishment and turned him into a girl named Lyra. She returned shortly after Halloween whose biggest event was Banjo and Kazooie being late to the Halloween feast and encountering a troll they stopped with Wonderwing.
Unfortunately for Lyra she was soon leaving Hogwarts again when Daphne Greengrass had to save her from the ones whom turned her back to the way she would have been if she had been raised by the Malfoys. They said that as a girl she was no longer useful as a potential leader of them, but could still make up for undoing their work by having some 'fun' with them. None of the teachers were happy about that, and Andromeda Tonks was infuriated at what they had done and how they changed the good Draco into who he became before Lyra. After the teachers(and her cousin Nymphadora 'don't say my first name' Tonks) punished them Andromeda transferred Lyra to an all girls school where that would never be a threat again and there were no death eater children to change Lyra for the worst.
Ending AN: That's the chapter. with that I've opened the door for a spin-off with the Negima franchise involved where Lyra gets first hand experience in the shenanigans of Mahora which in the universe of Tooty Potter would be an elevator school and the events of that spin-off would start during Year 5 for this story.
Next Time: the events of Year 1 come to an end and the Summer between Year 1 and Year 2 happens with Banjo, Kazooie, Tooty and Gruntilda inviting Hermione to the Isle of Hags where at the end of the Summer Kazooie gives Hermione one of her feathers which she uses as a hairclip and after the Year 2 supplies shopping they board the Hogwarts Express.
