Chapter 6: Bruce Wayne is Batman
(Later in the Library…)
Carrie opened the doors to the library and stepped inside. Looking around she saw there were a lot of people reading books, doing something on the computers, or printing out stuff. There were people also working in the library either putting books on the shelves, doing something in their offices, or just finishing some paperwork. Carrie looked up at the book on the shelves. She held Batman in the books & found it by looking through the book cover: The Story of Batman from 1989 & 1992.
Carrie looked at the computers and saw one of the computers weren't being used. Carrie walked over to the seat and sat down. Carrie was about to type what she wanted to search when she heard some fast typing next to her. As Carrie turned to her right and saw a boy she would see most of the time here in the library when she came. She head his name before, Tommy's friend: Freddy Holt. He was typing something fast. He stopped and turned to look at her when she was staring at him.
Carrie turned back to look at the computer and began typing what she wanted to search. She typed on the search bar The Bat. After searching and trying to find a description that matches what she did in the girls bathroom, Carrie found out what was the Bat...
Carrie sitting by herself looks at the screen at the computer. Doing a little more digging, she found a link to a YouTube video and saw the chair in the library while Carrie watched The Waynes on a desktop computer. It was titled "Jack Napier kills Thomas and Martha Wayne." and had 194,807 views.
Bruce Wayne was young with his parents: Thomas and Martha Wayne were happily, the Waynes walked, paused & turned around to them… We saw two young hoodlums… As Thomas turned to them. Martha turned to the one young hoodlum: Joe Chill.
As Chill grabs the string of pearls on Martha's necklace. Thomas tries to grab the young hood's arm. The one young hoodlum pointing a gun… We hear the sound of a shot…
*BANG!*
The hood shooting at Thomas was shot in the body & fell to the ground. The hood shooting at Martha screamed in horror & was shot in the body & fell to the ground. As Carrie was horrified & thought when the Hood killed Thomas and Martha Wayne, Young Bruce gasps and looks and Chill turns to Hoodlum and points the gun…
"Tell me, kid…You ever dance with the devil by the pale moonlight?" Hood replied.
The Hood points a gun, Young Bruce is horrified, he steps into the moonlight. It is clearly a Young Jack Napier with an evil smile…
"Man, let's go!" Chill replied, as he ran away.
Young Jack laughs and the gun…
"Let's go, Jack!" Chill called.
Young Jack turns his head to Chill and turns his head to Young Bruce.
"See you around, kid." Young Jack replied, as he began to move slowly away.
Young Bruce was horrified… As Carrie thought & watched Jack Napier kill Thomas and Martha Wayne on the computer.
"You ever dance with the devil by the pale moonlight? I don't get it. Pool Waynes. Pool kid." Carrie replied.
Carrie banner headline reads "THOMAS WAYNE MURDERED Prominent Doctor & Wife slain in robbery Unidentified gunman leave only child unharmed!"
"Thomas Wayne Murdered. Only Child Survives." Carrie replied.
Carrie read beneath it a photo "Cops kneeling over corpses. Medics with stretchers. And off to one side, a young boy: Bruce Wayne-his arms wrapped around the waist of a beat cop: Jim Gordon." The boy stares at the camera-a mask of unforgettable agony.
"Oh my God... his parents were murdered in that alley. That's why he went there. It was the anniversary of their death." Carrie replied.
While watching the video the same Freddy from before came up to Carrie and told her. "Uh, you know…"
Carrie immediately looks behind her and sees Freddy. Carrie was about to think it was a trick when…
"Sorry. I was just going to say, you can make it full screen." Freddy replied.
Carrie relaxed hearing that. She looked down and saw Freddy fingers moving on the computer and moving the arrow to the full screen button.
"Watch." Freddy replied.
Freddy pressed the full screen button and the screen of the video covered the whole computer. Carrie was glad this wasn't a trick and was thankful for Freddy's help.
Freddy turned around and walked out of the library.
Carrie kept watching the video, fascinated by seeing what you could do with Batman.
Doing a little more digging, she found a link to a YouTube video and saw the chair in the library while Carrie watched Batman on a desktop computer. It was titled "I'm Batman." and had 194,807 views.
At the edge of the roof, the Bat in moonlight, is a black apparition. The Bat is down on the ground. Eddie looked around and hear sound. Nick read the money is more. Eddie freezes, a choked gurgle in his throat. The Bat advances and spreads its arms, slowly, majes-tically. great shadowy wings flap in the wind. On its chest is the Bat, in an oval yellow field, glowing like a target in the darkness…
"I'm getting out of here, man." Eddie replied.
"Hey, shut up, man. Listen to me." Nick replied.
The Bat stood & his cape down.
"There ain't no Bat." Nick replied.
"Yeah? Well, you shouldn't have turned the gun on that kid, man. You shouldn't have turned the gun on that-" Eddie replied.
"HEY!" Nick called, as he turned his head to Eddie. "You want your cut of this money or not? Now shut up. Shut...up."
Eddie looked down and Nick was smoking…
Suddenly, there was a rustling sound. Nick and Eddie freezes, look, sound up, to the rooftop. They look up… The human bat confronts the men. Nick and Eddie were shocked, stood up, & ran…
"No way." Carrie replied.
The Bat jumped on the ground. They turned around to the Bat. Nick grabs the gun & begins…
*BANG!*
Nick shooting the Bat fell on the ground. Nick and Eddie turned and ran to the door stop… They paused and turned around until the Bat got up, Eddie turned his head to Nick's eye-side and looked at the Bat's no blood to his suit. The Bat walked.
Eddie gulping… The Bat treads calmly past. A leg snakes out. A black boot catches Eddie high on his chest and kicks Eddie slams into a door that is broken and he falls. Nick turned his head to the Bat and ran away... His Batarang, the Bat threw Batarang to capture Nick and fell on the ground. The Bat pulled back Nick.
"AAH!" Nick yelled.
Nick turned his head to the Bat.
"Oh, God." Nick cried out.
The Bat his head back. Nick was pulled back and turned to the Bat. The Bat grabbed Nick by the shirt. The Bat holds Nick to the rooftop. Hoists him into the air.
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me, man! Don't kill me! Don't kill me, man! I'm not going to kill you." Nick called.
"I'm not going to kill you. I want you to do me a favor. I want you to tell all your friends about me." The Bat replied.
"What are you?" Nick asked in concern.
The Bat took and pulled back Nick.
"I'm Batman." The Bat, as he called Batman, replied.
Batman heaves him roughly back onto the tar and gravel surface of the roof.
"AAH!" Nick yelled, as he looked at him.
And then casually, without a moment's hesitation steps off the ledge, into midair. Nick was shocked, crawled to the ledge and looked over, finding absolutely no trace of Batman… There's a distant, metallic clang. Nick hears it and tenses up to siren, he is still screaming as we pan down to Gotham's rooftop…
"Wow, I don't believe you. Batman." Carrie replied, with a smile.
As Carrie found a link to a YouTube video & watched Batman on a desktop computer. It was titled "Batman vs. Joker." and had 428,902 views.
"Excuse me." Batman replied.
Batman villain: Jack Napier aka The Joker from 1989, he looks off to his right. Batman stands there, nonchalant. Batman watches Joker's face from Batman's parents' killer.
"Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?" Batman asked in concern.
Beat. Batman swings out a fist and it connects with the Joker's jaw, sending him flying into, then bouncing off the bell, right back into Batman, who punches him in the head, then grabs him by the lapels and pulls him in close.
"I'm going to kill you." Batman replied.
"You idiot! You made me, remember? You dropped me into that vat of chemicals. That wasn't easy to get over and don't think that I didn't try." Joker replied with a smile.
"I know you did." Batman nods with a smile.
Batman punches him in the abdomen, then sends him careening through a wall. Batman pulls him back out, then punches him in the face again, sending Joker through another wall. As Batman approaches, Joker struggles to his feet, holding his nose and moaning in pain. He 'spits out' a pair of gag teeth then, Carrie in horror & thought, Bruce's girlfriend: Vicki Vale in horror, taking advantage of the momentary distraction, punches Batman's abs... before he's quickly clutching his hand, obviously in pain. Batman stalks towards him.
"Oh! Ooh!" Joker replied, as his hand's left was hurt and turned around to Batman.
"You killed my parents." Batman replied, as he pointed at Joker.
"What? Uh…" Joker replied, as he backs away, briefly spitting out blood, before cackling again. "What are you talking about? Huh?"
"I made you, you made me first." Batman replied, as he walked at Joker.
They continue out onto the building's balcony… During the confrontation, Batman revealed how Napier had murdered his parents, though the criminal had either forgotten the encounter or remained blissfully ignorant of his identity…
"Wait a minute. Batman's parents. That's impossible." Carrie replied.
As Carrie found a link to a YouTube video & watched Batman on a desktop computer. It was titled "Batman vs. Penguin." and had 261,782 views.
Batman's two villains: Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin was able to elude him by crawling under the Batskiboat and shortly after jumped off the top of it to initiate a surprise physical confrontation when he turned his back. Batskiboat after tearing through Penguin's duck vehicle.
"The Batskiboat." Carrie replied, with a smile.
The Batskiboat opened, Batman stood up and down on the ground, he walked & watched no Penguin, he turned around… Penguin then quickly scuttled out and hid under the Batskiboat. Batman emerged and surveyed the wreckage, but Penguin managed to elude the Dark Knight briefly and attacked him from behind. After he choked Batman with his umbrella.
"You're just jealous because I'm a genuine freak and you have to wear a mask!" Penguin replied.
"You might be right." Batman replied.
Batman's back pulls Penguin fell and rolls to the ground and they stand up.
"But what it all comes down to is who's holding the umbrella?" Penguin asked in concern, as he unsheathed a blade from the tip & with an evil smile.
Batman then took out a remote control from his Utility Belt, he pressed the button buzzing from red, Penguin saw Batman's remote control, Batman's eyes, Penguin is thinking? Batman turns his head, Penguin turns his head & is shocked…the penguin army.
Batman reveals that the penguin army had now regathered at the zoo grounds. Batman turns to Penguin.
"AH. MY BABIES!" Penguin replied, yelled.
Furious and horrified at the same time, this was the final straw for Penguin and he viciously swiped his umbrella at Batman. Penguin fell for Batman's simple tactics after he became enraged, breaking his blade against his duck wreckage after side stepping and guiding Penguin toward it. After Penguin gawked at his broken weapon, he knocked the remote from Batman's hand, not noticing that he was now holding completely still, allowing him to do so. Batman followed up by quickly taking the umbrella from Penguin, knocking him toward the remote with it.
Penguin's evil smile & picked up the remote with triumphant glee, pressing the blinking red button which caused the Penguin Commandos' missiles to fire…
Bats screeching arrive at the Batskiboat. Batman looked up at the bats. Then, the Batskiboat released a flock of bats which surrounded Penguin. Penguin screaming at the bats. While he tried to avoid them, Penguin fell backwards through the large window of his lair and into the poisoned water below. As Batman was unable to save him, much like the Ice Princess. The Penguin Commandos continued to fire their missiles, which destroyed most of the zoo surface. Batman was unable to save him due to the distance…
"Oh my God." Carrie replied.
Carrie read the two villains deaths of Jack Napier/Joker and Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin were years ago in Batman & Batman Returns. The one of villains: Selina Kyle/Catwoman is still alive.
One of the things Carrie has learned recently, for example, is that Bruce Wayne and Batman are one and the same…
"Bruce Wayne is Batman." Carrie gasped...
