Remnant's Mightiest Heroes!

What if Remnant's Faunus had its X-Men?

[~][~]

"So long as there is life, there will always be fear of that which is different. But I have watched those who turn adversity into purpose. On Earth, they have mutants and their X-Men. For Remnant and their Faunus, what if there were such people who fought for a world that both hated and feared their kind? Fought for a dream of peaceful coexistence between two species."

Forever Fall Forest

Deep inside the forest of red-leafed trees is a small White Fang encampment. An organization dedicated to fighting against the social inequality inflicted upon their people. The once peaceful protest group now turned anti-human terrorist organization. Ever since they changed leadership, they've performed various acts of violence to make their voice heard such as theft, criminal damage, violence, and bombings against humanity. They got their equality, but the fear they invoked did not help in making Humans accept the Faunus.

Their victims aren't just limited to humanity. Not even the Faunus are spared from their retribution if they choose to help humans. Especially the ones who chose to leave the White Fang when the organization took a dark turn. Deserters would be hunted down and killed. Aside from the Huntsmen and Huntresses, there is no group big enough to oppose them.

That is until today when another group makes itself known.

"Hey, anyone seen Ashe?" A muscular White Fang lieutenant asked as he stepped out of a tent that served as their hub of operations. A custom Grimm mask covered his face like the rest of his brothers and sisters of the White Fang. If humanity sees them as monsters, then why not wear the face of one?

"Shouldn't he be on lookout duty?" One of the White Fang underlings, a man with a lizard's tail, asked. The Lieutenant looked at him.

"He hasn't been reporting in," the Lieutenant declares. The silence hung over them for only a minute before the lizard Faunus shrugged.

"Well, he couldn't have gone far. Our camp is in the middle of nowhere. Miles away from Vale. Where could he have possibly gone?"

At that moment, they heard a sound. Nobody could make it out what it was. But for anyone with an extra set of ears, they heard screaming. Then, a fast-moving object fell onto the tent the Lieutenant walked out of. The impact made the tent collapse as it cushioned the object. After the dust settled, it took the White Fang several seconds to move. They converged upon the fallen object. To their horror and confusion, it wasn't an object but a comrade of theirs with wolf ears. He lay sprawled on the ground, still breathing due to his aura breaking his fall, unmoving.

"Is that Ashe?"

"Why did he fall from the sky?"

Nobody got their answer. Because more objects fell from the sky. The moment they contact the ground, a quiet hissing sound is emitted. To most people, they wouldn't be able to hear it. But to anyone with sensitive ears, namely Faunus with such traits, not only would they hear it, but they would be inflicted with intense pain. These Faunus screamed pain, clamping their hands over their ears in a feeble attempt to block out the noise.

It was during the chaos that two more presences made themselves known. Swooping in from the sky is a masked man with white feathered wings, dressed in a black and yellow uniform. His belt buckle proudly displayed an 'X' symbol. He is grasping the arms of a big and muscular man with blue-furred monkey feet. He wore a similar uniform and mask. The winged Faunus released his cargo. The monkey-Faunus' feet clamped over the faces of two White Fang goons as he used the momentum to slam their heads into the ground.

"I think can call my noisemakers a success," the latter comments as he looks over the noise-emitting devices. The bird Faunus landed next to him.

"Shouldn't we worry about the others, Beast?" his winged companion asked as he drew a sword from its scabbard. "Excluding Iceman, they have sensitive ears too."

"No need to worry Angel," Beast assured, pointing to a set of earplugs in his ears. "I made sure to give them a special set of earplugs before this mission started. They should be unaffected by the sound the noisemakers are emitting. Now are we going to stand here all day or are we going to…in more crude terms, kick some ass?"

"Gladly," Angel growls out as he performs an overhead swing on a nearby White Fang goon. He spun on his heel to slam the pommel of his sword against another goon's temple. Some of the White Fang being affected by the noisemakers, through sheer effort, managed to pull out weapons and attempt to fight him off. Angel expertly dodged their attacks while countering them with swings of his sword. After knocking back a goon with a thrust of his sword, he grabbed another by the throat. With a beat of his wings, he took to the air, intending to drop his enemy from a higher altitude just like Ashe.

Meanwhile, Beast dealt with the goons on the ground with a ferocity befitting his name. With a roar, he leaped into a crowd of goons and made short work of them. Using both hands and feet, he pummeled the goons left and right. Grabbing a goon, he threw him like a ragdoll into more goons, knocking them down like bowling pins. He flipped over a goon who rushed him, grabbing him by the shoulders and slamming him into another. The White Fang goons tried to retaliate, but they had difficulty landing a blow as the agile combatant dodged their attacks with ease. Even though he had the protection of aura, he's determined to ensure that they don't hit him.

Other goons weren't participating in the fight as they were suffering from sensory overlord or just watching in astonishment. The Lieutenant recovered first by marching over to stomp his foot on the noisemakers. "We're under attack! Everyone—AGH!"

He is cut off as a ruby-red energy blast strikes him in the chest, sending him flying backward through the air. Everyone stared on in shock before another one was blasted by the same attack. Several meters away kneeled a man with a set of white dog ears at the top of his head. He is dressed in the same uniform as the others, the difference being the ruby-red visor that he is pressing two fingers against. Another blast shot out from his eyes, striking another goon at a long distance.

Their incapacitated leader had thrown the rest of the White Fang into chaos. More chaos is added to the mix as a large flaming red shuriken flies. Spinning like a buzzsaw, it sliced through multiple White Fang goons. Some had their aura broken. Any unfortunate camping supplies in its path, such as tents, are not only shredded into scraps but set aflame by the burn dust-infused metal.

The shuriken hovered next to a red-haired woman and another dog Faunus. She wore a uniform like the others. Strolling through the camp, she sent her weapon flying again, she lifted one hand. A White Fang goon is suddenly thrown into the air by an invisible force. Then another. And another. Soon the air is filled with flying screaming goons.

None of her teammates missed this opportunity. Angel swooped in among the falling goons, slashing at their aura to ensure that they broke when they fell. The man with the visor blasted target after target as they fell. It was like a shooting skeet. Meanwhile, the other non-fliers are sweeping up the remaining White Fang.

After what seemed to be less than several minutes, the White Fang's screaming ceased. What was once a camp set up for war is now in ruins. White Fang goons littered the ground, unconscious and unmoving. The three strangers converged on each other, with the bird Faunus flying in.

"Cyclops. Marvel Girl," Angel greets as he lands. "Where's Iceman?"

"He should be catching up," Cyclops answered before turning to the only female of their group. "Marvel Girl. Any sign of Adam Taurus?"

"He's not here," Marvel Girl answered, her fingers pressed against her temples. Nothing else is said as suddenly, a roar echoed through the ruined camp. The four Faunus faced the Lieutenant, covered in ash, glaring at them. In his hands, he held a massive chainsaw that he revved up.

"Traitors," the Lieutenant snarled when he spotted their Faunus traits. The similarly dressed strangers took combat positions.

"I don't recall ever being one of your monsters," Cyclops coldly retorts. Behind his visor, his eyes widened as if something occurred to him. Then he adjusted a dial on his visor that turned it sapphire blue. When he fired another optic blast, it became blue instead of red. That wasn't the only change. The Lieutenant was ready for it this time as he held his weapon in front to brace himself. Only he is met with a blast of high-pressured water rather than energy.

The Lieutenant sputtered as he shielded himself from the water. Yet his feet remain planted in the ground. Slowly, he took a step. Then another. And another. He is inching his way closer to the interloper's position. His strength and durability surprised the masked men and women.

But he didn't get far as the air became frigid. Then the water and even his soaked clothes became frozen in ice. The ice expanded until he was nearly encased in ice. Only his head remained free. The ice traveled along the path of Cyclops' optic beam before he ceased his attack. The source of the freezing revealed himself. Skating in is a young man with short, broad, and closely spaced feathers for hair. Like his mysterious compatriot, he wore a distinct uniform but almost completely white. What is unusual is that he's entirely snow-white. As if he's made of ice. Wherever he skates, a sheet of ice is frozen over.

The penguin Faunus looked around at the ruined camp and groaned. "Aw, come on! I missed the whole thing?"

"At least you got Adam's lieutenant, Iceman," Marvel Girl pointed out. "I let Cyclops know so that he'll leave it to you. He would've been tough to take down without you."

"Really? Thanks, Marvel Girl," Iceman said bashfully rubbing the back of his head. Cyclops ignored the two as he approached the frozen lieutenant. Despite his predicament, the Lieutenant continued to glare at him with hate.

"Now that we've gotten your head cool," Cyclops spoke in a deceptively calm voice. "Where's your boss? We came all the way to show how much we appreciate his efforts in making it worse for the Faunus."

"I will never tell you anything you traitor," the Lieutenant spat. Cyclops didn't seem to be fazed. Especially when Marvel Girl spoke up.

"He's on a mission to assault a cargo train carrying Schnee Dust Company supplies," Phoenix said, drawing an expression of shock from the Lieutenant. "The train should be passing by right about now. He and Blake Belladonna left just an hour before we came."

"W-What? How did you…" the White Fang Lieutenant stammered. The red-haired Faunus gave him a smile in satisfaction.

"I can do more than just lift objects," Phoenix says icily. "If it's any consolation, we'll be sure to let Adam know how you gladly sold him up the river. Now go to sleep!"

A wave of power washed over the Lieutenant's mind. He became drowsy and his eyelids closed. The Lieutenant is fast asleep as commanded. Beast glanced at Marvel Girl and initiated a conversation not with his voice, but his mind.

"Couldn't you have done that earlier?"

"I didn't want Iceman to feel left out."

"So, we came just as he's attacking one of Jacque Schnee's trains?" Angel asked in derision. "I don't know whether to feel happy to know that Schnee is about to lose another money pipeline or the fact that people are going to get killed by that psycho."

"Wait a second. Blake Belladonna?" Iceman asked. "Isn't she Ghira Belladonna's kid?"

"Unless Ghira had any other children, then I believe you answered your question," Beast declared, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "My Stars and Garters. I didn't think she'd be mixed up with this madness."

"We can worry about her morality later. Let's get these bastards restrained and be gone before the huntsmen arrive," Cyclops ordered. His teammates gave a nod of their heads and proceeded to carry out his orders. They bound the White Fang goons with zip-tie handcuffs. Cyclops watched them for a moment before turning his head.

"Professor, we've neutralized the White Fang encampment, but Adam Taurus isn't here. He's assaulting a passing cargo train."

To anyone else, it would look as if he was talking to no one. But a voice spoke in his head.

"Not to worry Scott. I've located Adam Taurus and Blake Belladonna. As well as the train they are targeting. I've sent Wolverine and Storm to intercept."

[~]

Blake severed the neck of the last Atlesian Knight-AK-130. As expected from an Atlesian train, it came with their robotic security. She and Adam moved up to the next freight car. Adam moved to the nearest box and opened it to examine its contents.

"Perfect," Adam said as he closed the trunk. "Move up to the next car. I'll set the charges."

"What about the crew members?" Blake asked in concern. Adam coldly regarded her and spoke with a voice that sent chills down her spine.

"What about them?"

At that moment, they heard screeching metal. Looking up they see a Spider Droid, which they haven't noticed, fall from the ceiling. Its legs were severed clean off. What drew their attention was the hole in the ceiling. Dropping down from the hole is a man dressed in a black and yellow uniform. His face is covered in a mask that resembles the snarling face and wild eyes of a northern animal. The only thing not covered are two small ears on top of his head. In his hands, he held a bright red katana in contrast to Adam's blood-red Wilt.

"Whoops didn't see you there," the man apologized sarcastically as he reversed his grip and drove his katana into the Spider Droid's belly. The Spider Droid gave off a few sparks before it ceased functioning altogether. The man stared at the robot for a moment before turning his attention to the two Faunus.

"As for the crew, they're going to be alright because there's not going to be any bombing," he growled as he stepped off the Spider Droid. "We've already taken care of your friends at your camp. You two are the only ones left of the White Fang operating in Vale."

The White Fang Faunus felt a ball of ice in their stomachs at that last sentence. From behind his mask, Adam's eyes trailed over the 'X' symbol on the man's belt. With an animalistic growl, Adam unsheathes Wilt as he charges at the man. The latter did the same. Their weapons clashed.

"I've gotten reports of our operations being dismantled by an unknown group with that symbol," Adam growled. "I thought it was the work of humans. But to think it would be our fellow Faunus!"

"I'm not your fellow, bub," the man growled. "I'm the Wolverine! RAGH!"

With the ferocity befitting his namesake, he pushed back against Adam. The bull Faunus responded in kind as their blades clashed against each other. Adam's attempt to slice his enemy is met with masterful counters. The force of the blows is making Adam backstep. Blake's eyes are wide as for the first time, she's watching Adam being forced back. But she knew that every blow he takes is powering his semblance. He's storing the energy in his weapon and sends it back when he's ready.

"Fall back!" Adam ordered as he parried another strike. Together they fled to the next car, which was a flat one. They are exposed to the elements as the train speeds. Above them, the sky is covered in dark clouds that rumbled ominously.

"A storm is coming," Blake warned. Although she could've sworn that the weather report said that it would be clear skies today. Then, they heard a new voice.

"I am the storm."

The two Faunus whipped around to see another newcomer. Another Faunus but dressed in a dominantly silver uniform with gold outlines. A cat's tail twitched behind her. Unlike the man calling himself the Wolverine, she did not wear a mask to hide her face. In her hands, she held an ornate staff with a revolving cylinder in the shaft.

The crystal tip of the staff glowed green as a fierce wind kicked up. The woman's hair whipped through the air as she swung her staff. The wind blew against them. The force is strong enough to send Blake flying off the flat car.

"Blake!" Adam called out, reaching a handout. He managed to prevent himself from being blown off by embedding Wilt into the flat car. From the previous car came Wolverine. He looks at the woman and jerks his head to the side. Getting the message, she waved her staff, and the wind carried her away. This left the two swordsmen alone to face each other.

"I wouldn't worry about her at the moment," Wolverine warns. "There's just one difference between you."

"I'm the best there is at what I do, and what I do isn't very nice," Wolverine declares as she sheathes his weapon and clenches his fists. From between the knuckles of each clenched fist ejected three silvery gray aura claws. Wolverine roared as he charged toward the bull Faunus.

Adam grunted as he gripped the hilt of Wilt. From their earlier duel, he is sure he stored enough energy to slay him. This traitor to the Faunus. No matter how much aura he may have, they won't be able to stop his moonslice. His features lit up red as he drew Wilt from Blush and in a quickdraw unleashed his semblance.

But that attack is repelled. No, not repelled. The better term would have to be slashed apart. By those claws. Adam watched in shock as Wolverine tore his faithful weapon into shards like it was nothing. Wolverine didn't stop his momentum as he got close to Adam and slashed his arm off. The arm that was holding his sword. As Adam howled in pain, he could only scream one question.

"What…the hell are you?!"

[~]

Blake tumbled through the air. In an act of desperation, she swung Gambol Shroud. The blade sunk into a nearby tree. She felt Gambol Shrouds ribbon grow taught and she held tight. The black-haired Faunus swung around the tree until she landed on her feet. Breathing heavily, she stood up and took stock of her situation.

So far the mission, or her last mission for that matter, failed. That was good because the passengers of that train would not die of Adam's bloodlust. She can ease her consciousness with the knowledge that they are safe. And that Adam is too far away to stop her from leaving. Lately, he has been less tolerant of deserters.

The bad news is that unknown group. She was there in those meetings when he raged about how a group bearing an 'X' has been dismantling their operations in Vale. A group that is already earning the fear and hatred of the rest of the White Fang. What is scary is that no matter how much effort they put into hiding their safehouses and operatives, this group managed to find them. In just a week, White Fang activity has gone down as the Vale branch is in shambles. Now that group is coming for her.

But unlike the White Fang, they didn't kill anyone. Rather, they left them for the police or huntsmen to find. She even heard reports that this group saved would-be victims from attacks from the White Fang. That's partly why she didn't help Adam fight against Wolverine. It left her a little bit of hope. Maybe she could convince them that she's deserting the White Fang for good.

Before she could think of a plan revolving around that idea, she felt her hair stand on end. She left a shadow to take her place as a lightning bolt struck it. Her amber eyes are wide as the woman from before landed a few feet in front of her. Her staff's glowing tip changed from green to yellow. Blake's mind is spinning as she wonders how she found her this fast. But she didn't run from the walking tempest before her.

"W-Wait!" Blake cried out, holding up a hand. "I didn't want to bomb the train! I never wanted anyone to get hurt!"

"Then why were you with him to blow up that train?" the woman asked as she approached, lightning cackling through her staff. "Adam has killed thousands of innocent lives in the name of the Faunus. Even when they haven't done anything wrong."

"I'll admit it's because the cargo belonged to the Schnee Dust Company. But I thought I was fighting for the right cause!" Blake explained, her voice breaking. "I wanted equality! I wanted peace!"

Her body is tense, waiting for the woman to strike her down with lightning again. She is certain she could use her semblance again to flee if it came to another fight. Her combat skills are nothing to scoff at, but after seeing Wolverine fight against Adam, she wasn't sure if she could win. But to her relief, the woman's features softened. Lightning stopped sparking along her staff as she rested the other end on the ground. That was a good sign.

"You want that?"

"Ever since I was young, I've been supporting the White Fang. Even when it took a more hands-on approach. But It wasn't until Adam kept 'accidentally' killing innocent civilians during missions that I had my doubts. But those doubts faded the moment Adam all but admitted that he intended to kill the passengers. That those 'accidents' were intentional. I can no longer support the White Fang. I've had enough of their aggression and disdain for human life."

Her ears drooped as she stopped talking as she felt herself on the verge of crying. By the brothers, she wanted to cry. There are many things that she has regretted doing. Especially when she angrily parted with her parents when they made their decision to leave the White Fang. The organization that they created. Only now was she ashamed of the things she said then, taking her this long to realize that they were right. She heard footsteps approach her, but she didn't move. It wasn't until she felt a hand on her shoulder that she looked up. She is greeted by the woman who is giving her a compassionate smile.

"Once I was a slave to a crime lord," the woman explained. "He wasn't human but a fellow Faunus. Tell me, have you ever heard of the Shadow King of Vacuo?"

Blake paled. "I've heard of him. But I thought he was a myth. He was a Faunus?"

"Many thought he was, but he was very real. He exploited kids who were lost for his gain. Something that I found to be like the White Fang as he exploited their darkest emotions such as hate and fear. I was a thief in his employ. I would steal for him. It would've been my whole life if it weren't for the Professor. Not only did he defeat him and give me freedom, but he also offered me a place to call home. People who I can call a family. And even a dream to work towards—peace between humans and Faunus."

Silence hung in the air as the woman withdrew her hand. Blake asked, "Why are you telling me this?"

"Because I see a bit of myself in you," she explains. "If you are turning against the White Fang, then it's not too late to choose a new path. Just because someone stumbles and loses their way does not mean they're lost forever. Perhaps you can find a new path to accomplish the dream. One where humans and Faunus come together not with fear and hate but love and compassion."

"Storm."

The ladies turned to see Wolverine making his way towards them.

"Wolverine," Storm greeted. "What happened to Adam?"

"The coward got away right after I sliced his arm off," Wolverine gruffly explains. "I doubt he'll ever swallow his pride and ask Atlas to build him another. He won't be able to use his semblance again. But the Professor's got a lock on him. He won't be getting away."

"Then I believe we can call this mission a success," Storm declares with a smile. Then they heard jet engines. The three Faunus looked up to see a black jet descending towards their position. When it landed, a ramp extended from its belly.

"Cyc finished up on his end," Wolverine comments as he walks up the ramp. Storm made to follow him before she looked back at Blake.

"Why not come with us?" Storm asked. "The Professor would love to meet you. He's an old friend of your father. We can even help you get in touch with a Huntsmen Academy if you wish."

Amber eyes widened at that revelation. She nodded her head in consent and followed Storm up the ramp. The ex-White Fang wasn't sure what awaited her, but she will face it. Maybe she can make up for her past by helping to bring a bright future.

"Just one question," Blake spoke up. "Who are you people?"

The answer to her question came from a voice that didn't sound like any of them.

"We are the X-Men, Ms. Belladonna."

[~]

Xavier Manor, Vale

Charles Xavier withdrew his mind from Blake Belladonnas. He powered down his helmet, Cerebro, and took it off. The visor is in the shape of the symbol of the team he created. The turtle Faunus set it down on his desk. He reached over to grab a photograph in a glass frame.

"I'm sure you will be happy to hear that your faith is rewarded old friend," Charles spoke fondly. Inside the picture are three men dressed in the uniform of the old White Fang. One of them is Ghira Belladonna, who would be glad to see his daughter turn away from a dark path. Charles himself is in the photo, back when he could still walk despite the shell on his back. The other is a man who took the same path that Adam Taurus took.

He is no stranger to the cruelty humanity inflicted upon him and his fellow Faunus. It was thanks to his semblance that he was able to avoid most of it. It was how he was able to get a career back in the Atlesian Military. But they need to see to it that they do not become just like them. Otherwise, the cycle of hatred will never end. The White Fang who was meant to accomplish this is already perpetuating the cycle. If only Sienna listened to him and Ghira.

He founded the X-Men. To not only fight for equality but to protect humanity and Faunus from those who would harm or exploit them. Defeating the Shadow King strengthened his resolve to form a team. He selected Faunus students because they are the most vulnerable to falling into the White Fang. He hopes that by seeing Faunus defending humanity and Faunus, he will paint his people in a better light.

Charles puts the photo back on his desk. That was enough reminiscing. Today he had a lesson to teach in his 'Search and Rescue' class back at Beacon Academy. He must uphold his duty as a teacher for the next Huntsmen and Huntresses. One of the reasons he instructed his students to hide their identities was so that they'd have a life outside of being X-Men. He operated his wheelchair controls to take him out of his office.

The eradication of the White Fang in Vale is just the beginning. Soon, they'll move on to its other branches until the organization is completely dismantled. The organization that failed everyone. Not just the White Fang, but the human supremacists played a part in enslaving Faunus. His friend Logan had been one such victim of an organization. He and his X-Men will carve out the cancer known as bigotry from Remnant.

They will fight until the dream comes true.

A Schnee Dust Company Mine, Solitas

Deep inside the mines, dozens of Faunus miners are hard at work. Miners wielded tools as they harvested dust veins of various colors. They were all haggard and weary, but they couldn't stop. The company policy only allowed them the minimum amount of breaks. The same as the meager paychecks that the company CEO is giving them. Sometimes some of them died in a mining accident and no one batted an eye. Anyone who suffered from these conditions would know the right thing to do would be to quit.

But what else could they do? They could barely find employment that would accept Faunus. Many of them had families of their own to look after. So, they swallowed their pride and bore the suffering and degradation that the SDC inflicted upon them.

Two Faunus are pushing a minecart along the tracks. One with ram horns had a coughing fit and collapsed. His partner knelt over him as two more miners came over to check.

"HEY! Get back to work!"

A security guard dressed in a white uniform marched over to them, armed with an assault rifle. On his left is a patch boldly displaying the SDC snowflake symbol. The miners looked at him with dread and fear.

"He needs medical attention!" A Faunus with red feathers for hair yelled as his fellow miner continued to cough.

"I don't care if one of you freaks catches the cold," the guard said derisively. "You're not getting paid to slack off. Get back to work!"

The Faunus growled in frustration. The guard noticed this and leveled an assault rifle at the miner. The air suddenly stood still. The other miners, who stopped working as well to watch, held their breath. They knew that most of the 'accidents' were caused by the guards who would fire their guns into the mine to make an example of unruly workers.

At that moment, they heard the creaking of metal. The sound came from the elevator leading in and out of the mine. The guard looked back at the elevator controls in surprise. There wasn't an inspection due today, was there?

The elevator touched the ground and the doors opened. Stepping out is a man dressed in a red cloak and matching battle armor. His head is covered in a similar-colored helmet with purple outlines. Sticking out at the top of his ears are a pair of horse ears. He is another Faunus. But unlike the others in the mine, he carried himself with an air of confidence and promise of vengeance.

"Hey! This is SDC property! You are trespassing," the guard yelled as he aimed his rifle at the man. The trespasser didn't respond. Rather, he held out his hand and made a gesture. Suddenly, the rifle is yanked out of the guard's hands and floated in midair. It turned until the barrel of the rifle was aimed at the guard himself. Sweat protruded on the guard's forehead as he stepped back in fear. He raised his hands in surrender. From his peripheral vision, he noticed two other guards in the elevator. Both had bullet holes in their heads.

"I'm aware. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here," the man coldly responded as he mimicked pulling a trigger with his finger. The gun went off with a bang. The guard's body slumped to its knees before falling flat on the ground. A bullet hole in his head like his fellow guards. The miners watched the scene with horror. Some of them threw up at the act. The man noticed this and addressed them.

"My Faunus brothers and sisters," the man began with a voice that drew the attention of everyone away from the dead guard. "I know you are frightened at what you have witnessed. Who wouldn't be? But that is nothing compared to the injustices and oppression inflicted upon our kind. Why? Because they're afraid of us. Because we are different. Humans have always been afraid of that which is different. And I'm here to tell you, to tell the world, that they are right to fear us! We are the future! We are the ones who will inherit Remnant. And anyone who stands in our way will suffer the same fate as these men you see before you."

He gestured to the dead guards, the ones who brutally oppressed the Faunus and enforced the SDC's corrupt policies.

"The SDC, under the leadership of the human Jacques Schnee, has been profiting from our blood, sweat, and tears. But he isn't the only one. Many humans like him have exploited our labor while denying us the rights and freedoms we deserve. But we will not be silenced any longer. No more hiding. No more suffering. We have lived in the shadows of shame and fear for too long. Come and join me. Fight together in a Brotherhood of our Kind. One that will not fail you like the White Fang. A new tomorrow…that can start today."

By the time he finished his speech, a crowd had gathered before him. They were fully enraptured by his speech. The Faunus with the ram horns stopped coughing. He looked up at the man. His eyes widened in recognition.

"Is…is that you…Erik?"

The man named Erik regarded him with a familiar glance.

"I prefer…Magneto."

Greetings and Bienvenu readers.

I figured that we might take a break from Fimbulwinter for a bit with a simple 'What If' chapter. I considered doing a 'What If' where Salem found the All-Black and used it to kill the Brothers and go on a genocidal killing spree against other Gods. But I pushed that aside in Favor of Remnant Variants of the X-Men. If anyone remembers the previous 'What If' being a part 1, then I can assure you that Part 2 will come later. Honestly, I couldn't wait to work on the X-Men arc of RMH. I hoped to satiate my desire with this What If.

Now I know some of you are asking for an update on Remnant under Kang's occupation. I assure you that there is a chapter on the way that will show just that. It won't happen until after the Ragnarök arc. This I promise. Feel free to throw this in my face so that I will remember.

And I have another announcement. I've put my second Fanfic up for adoption. It was a thing of evil that sapped away months of my life just to update one single chapter. It only took a couple of weeks to put together the previous RMH chapter. So it was with deep regret that I put it up for adoption, hoping someone will continue its potential. I remember how well it went when I unexpectedly deleted my stories to reduce the strain on my brain power. As per the Rule of Two, I've set up a poll for you to decide which fanfic I should work on. This includes previous fanfics that I've scrapped. Whatever choice wins this vote I will dedicate to seeing it through until the end. Without putting it up for adoption. Below are the following choices:

1) From Mob to Pirate Part 1(Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough For Mobs x One Piece)- For anyone who has read light novels, manga, or anime. I know many are still upset that I deleted the 'New Era of Remnant' Fanfic so I'm offering this not only as a chance to start over but a fresher perspective. Especially when we have reached the final saga. In this fanfic, the main character Leon's country is destroyed by the World Government.
