Chapter 33, Rebuilding…
It was dark..
Cold..
Very cold..
Her one eye looked out the window of her stolen warship.
She could see the cabal warship responsible for disabling her ship closing in.
One cruiser..
It'll finish her off..
Damnit!
She turned around, a few of her fellow Psions were severely injured just like her. While other's were dead…
Just.. floating silently through the ship.
There was no hope, she wasn't capable of fighting and neither were her followers.
She looked back at the window of the bridge..
The cabal warship loomed over them and prepared to board so they could take out any survivors and capture her if she's still alive.
She was glad that she was important but not to them!
Ugh..
She cursed herself for serving under that fat pig once again. She thought there was opportunity in doing so, a chance to rebuild the greatness her people once had. Oh how wrong she was..
"?"
Suddenly one of the monitors in the bridge activated and was beeping.
Another ship was arriving?
Yeah…
There definitely was no point in trying to fight then.
She looked out the window and hoped she'd die before her attackers could capture her.
The beeping of the monitor got louder and faster and stopped once a massive vessel appeared..
Her one eye widened in disbelief.
What….
What kind of..
Ship is that?!
It's massive!
Never in her long life as she ever seen such a monstrosity nor has she ever envisioned it!
She stared at it in amazement and watched as an orange projectile was shot out from one of its many large cannons.
It struck the cabal warship looming over her ship, completely annihilating it!
With just that, it was obvious that this wasn't part of that fat pig's fleet!
The massive vessel loomed over her ship and stopped there.
Suddenly an explosion in her ship was heard, as if something just crashed through it.
The Psion turned around once more, looking back at the entrance to the bridge.
The doors were disabled so there's no way anyone could get i-
The doors were forcefully opened, surprising the Psion.
She silently watched as a lone figure entered the bridge.
It was… smaller than her, as It got closer she quickly recognized it.
A human! In all white armor.
He stared at her, eyes slightly widening in amazement.
"A Psion?"
He spoke but she did not respond, with a brief silence ongoing between them, he spoke again.
"I refuse to allow you to die." He declared, to her surprise.
The human held out his left hand, within seconds. The Psion felt all her wounds heal along with her strength returning.
How was a human capable of giving life..
They are so fragile!
However she would not waste this opportunity.
"Psions…" she spoke, she wasn't good at speaking the human tongue but she did so anyways.
She pointed behind the human and he turned around. Looking at her injured and dead followers.
"Very well."
He snapped his fingers and life returned to all her dead followers along with those on the brink of death.
Such… power!
"Come now. This ship isn't stable." The human told her, she quickly stood up and gave a nod in agreement.
The Psion rallied her followers and the human snapped his fingers once more, Sending them all to his ship.
He sat on his throne elegantly and she focused her eye on him while her followers stared at the other… human standing next to his throne. A female, with horns and a nasty glare..
They stared back.
There was silence but then..
The minds of Otzot and the human sitting on his throne connected and she was amazed by what she felt and saw..
Oh..
Wonderful!
Beautiful!
His mind was so beautiful and full of wonders!
Ha…
Such a bliss to experience this.
"I ask for your name great one." She spoke through his mind.
"Sivert Light."
Oh..
That'll be a little hard to pronounce for her but she could do it.
"I am Otzot.. Psion Flayer. I thank you for giving me life."
Otzot?
Sivert swore he recognized that name but he couldn't remember from where.
"You.. serve Witness?" she hesitantly asked.
"No. Why do you ask that?"
Otzot pointed at the two beasts standing idly next to his throne with the female human.
These were tormentors, wicked creations of darkness that Otzot despises. For Sivert, he had just encountered them on his ship when he explored it..
They were not hostile and obeyed everything he said. There was thousands of them on this ship, some patrolling the halls while other's stood idly guarding random rooms.
Aside from their unholy origins, Sivert can see great use in them. Oh yeah, Sivert has also given a name to his new ship that was left to him by the Witness. It was meant for him if he were to become a Disciple but the Witness left for him regardless.
The Supremacy!
A fitting name for a warship like this.
"Calus has the same creatures."
"Slaves?" he asked to make sure.
"Servants. They obey his every command. Calus has become Disciple."
Hmm…
So he's more than just a pawn to the Witness it seems.
"Well the Witness is dead. I killed it along with the other Disciples. They are no more."
That revelation shocked Otzot and her followers.
If he killed the Witness then he is more powerful then she could ever imagine.
Oh..
Such fortune she has managed to come upon.
Again…
She will not waste this opportunity.
He sat on his throne like a god..
And Otzot for the first time has believed there is a God.
Him.
This human was a god in her eyes!
She must become his loyal servant at any costs!
"Sivert.. I beg of you to take me in as your most humble servant. I offer my genius and skills to you oh great one!"
Otzot's followers also joined in, getting down on their knees to beg and worship for he was worth it all.
That was sudden..
But Sivert could feel her emotions since they were currently connected.
Admiration..
Happiness..
Curiosity..
He crossed his arms and made a quick decision to take them in, "I'll consider it but tell me more about Calus. Where is he and what is he doing?"
"As you desire.."
Otzot showed Sivert images in his mind.
Images of a large planet within a small star system near Sol with a massive cabal fleet looming over it. On the planet's surface was a large city with many more all around the planet's surface.
Calus's new capital..
Sivert's eyes widened in absolute anger as Otzot showed him images of slaves.
Awoken and Human along with Eliksni. Forced to work while those who pledged loyalty were given the opportunity to serve in his new 'Shadow Legion.'
But that wasn't what angered him the most.
Guardians!
Guardians were serving him! Offered a choice to join him..
And they took it.
Sivert quickly calmed himself, not wanting to scare his new servants to death.
More images were shown, such as Calus's large military force, combined with Awoken and Eliksni.
Sivert thought the Awoken were wiped out.. the Witness showed him an image of the Dreaming city being destroyed in the past.
Unless Calus managed to capture survivors.
There was also Eliksni ketches along with city and awoken ships mixed in the large fleet..
Then Otzot showed an image of the fat bastard himself, sitting on his throne with a chalice in his right hand.
Standing next to him was a few of his most trusted warriors.
This wasn't even his whole empire, Otzot begun showing him visions of several conquered worlds and moons spread throughout the stars..
"How long has it been since Calus became a Disciple?"
"Three hundred years.."
That..
That explains a lot. He's been in the Cardinal World for a good 17 years but it's been so long here.
Who knows how old that transmission Sivert's demon found is and when it came out and by now. Calus's forces have definitely gotten larger.
The images stopped and Sivert pondered on all he'd seen.
So much has happened..
"Was that warship I destroyed part of his fleet?"
Otzot gave a light nod before explaining more. "I have refused to serve Calus after he has threatened to make Psions a slave race to the Cabal once more if I hadn't built him weapons of mass destruction to help him conquer the universe."
Of course..
Sounds like the fat bastard to. Though he really doesn't need weapons of mass destruction.
With what he has now and no one to oppose him, he can definitely conquer the universe. It would just take a ton of time.
Well, it sure ain't happening now that Sivert is here.
"All is not lost though. The Empress lives!"
"Caital?"
"Yes, though at a disadvantage in power.. the Empress is alive and leading her Imperial Cabal against the Shadow Legion."
Ha..
Hahaha!
Sivert cheered mentally and his good mood returned! Finally some good news!
"I have attempted to contact her but to no avail. I do know where the Empress resides though. One of my spies has told me."
Good!
More good news!
"Great! Tell me where then."
Otzot gave a light nod and proceeded to tell Sivert the coordinates.
It was pretty far.. but it shouldn't take that long. It was in Sol actually, in the outer giants.
Neptune's Orbit.
Once the Supremacy entered Lightspeed Otzot explained more about herself, telling Sivert her story.
A genius among the Psions, however she had a large self-interest problem that caused a great deal of pain to her people. Something she regrets every day and hopes to be forgiven by the Psions who have forsaken her, she hopes that by freeing those under Calus's reign. She will earn their forgiveness.
Hearing that, Sivert of course was cautious of her. Especially after being told of her creations..
But he hopes to trust her as they get to know each other more. A mind like hers was rare to stumble upon.
Sivert stared at the Cabal fleet stationed outside Neptune, he stood in the main hangar bay with at least a few hundred human jumpships inside it. With many more in the other hangars.
Standing with him on his right was Otzot, she contacted the fleet to let them know they meant no harm.
In response, Caital declared she was coming herself to see the Psion.
So they stood here, waiting.
Eventually a Cabal Harvester was spotted heading towards the hangar.
It was colored blue.
The Harvester slowly entered the hangar and carefully landed on the hangar floor.
Ah..
Memories.
He missed stuff like this. A simple cabal harvester brought him lots of nostalgia. It'd probably bring more if it shot at him like the good ol days!
The side doors opened and stepping out from the harvester was the large Cabal Empress herself..
Oh..
How Sivert missed the presence of a leader she emitted.
Such delight!
Caital wore the same garments as before, just very bruised and damaged. It's sure seen its fair share of battles.
She was accompanied by two Psions who followed her.
The Mighty Empress walked towards Sivert and Otzot before stopping just a few feet away from them.
"Otzot."
"Empress. I know I have not been an ally after the coup but I assure you. Now I hope to crush Calus once and for all."
There was determination in her voice but that wasn't enough for Caital who hasn't seen Otzot for centuries.
"We will see if your words hold truth with your actions.."
Otzot would have to prove that determination.
Caital turned her eyes to Sivert.
"Empress Caital. It's good to see you again."
He bowed and greeted her.
"And who might you be?"
Ouch..
Sivert was hurt to not be recognized but it made sense. It's been so long since they last saw each other, and he looks completely different.
"I am.. Sivert Light or what you and everyone called me The Guardian and Saladin's Young Wolf."
Caital's eyes widened and the anger erupting from her could be felt by everyone.
"You. Where have you gone? When you're people needed you most you were not there!" she yelled viciously.
Her voice was loud and full of iron and Sivert could feel her intent to pick him up and tear him in half.
He's really glad it'd be physically impossible for her to do so with how much stronger he is then her.
Sivert did not avert his eyes from hers though and truthfully responded.
"I know.. I was sent to another Universe by the Light. Every day I regret it.. regret not being there but I had no choice.. I am sorry.."
Caital's gaze was piercing but still, Sivert did not look away. He stood his ground.
The Cabal Empress growled and clenched her fists.
However she knew he was no liar.. she has fought alongside him to know that it was not in his character, even with such a… unbelievable reason.
She looked up and carefully examined the hangar bay. Even though there was a lot of human tech in it.. it gave off the Pyramid ship feeling she disliked greatly.
"You command a vessel belonging to the Pyramid's. Have you conquered them?"
"Yes. I killed the Witness and I have come back to fix my mistakes. I want to end Calus as much as you do."
Hearing that, Caital's immense anger was replaced with shock and she asked the most obvious question.
"You killed the Witness?"
Sivert responded with a simple nod.
There was a brief moment of silence between them.
Caital looked up and at the ship that could wipe out Calus's fleet with ease.
"Then perhaps there is hope."
"There is." Sivert assured.
Caital looked back down at him, her eyes focusing on his golden eyes.
"I will assist you in any way possible. But once Calus is finished and you are recognized as the only leader of the Cabal. I will have to leave."
Sivert held out his right hand and Caital stared at it.
"Anyway possible?" she asked to which he confirmed another nod.
Sadly..
Sivert would regret those words.
For Caital was going to twist them.
"Then you will serve under me as Bracus Light."
Ah…
Goddamnit.
Sivert didn't show that reaction obviously. He cursed himself for not seeing that coming.
And he could not decline or it'd go against his words. Which is something he's highly against.
"Understood.." He accepted and shook hands with Caital, though difficult since his hand was smaller than hers.
While Sivert accepted it, Otzot wasn't a fan of the rank he was given.
Bracus?! The lowest rank in the Cabal Hierarchy!?
How dare Caital commit such a sin!
Sivert should be Dominus!
But it was Sivert's call and Otzot would not dare to intervene with her personal feelings!
"You will keep your ship and your rights but I hope to see you rise the ranks as Valus Forge once did.."
The mention of Saladin changed the mood..
"He's not with you?"
Caital shook his head but did not show her disappointment.
"Valus Forge has died a glorious death in assuring our escape and survival. I wanted to die by his side, but I knew had I gone back to join him against the Witness. That his sacrifice would mean nothing. But you have avenged him! It is only right you follow in his footsteps as his pupil."
Her words were powerful.
Sivert is an Iron Lord and now the last…
"Now come. We will discuss more about Calus on my ship."
Caital ordered as she turned around and walked towards her Harvester. Sivert silently nodded and followed along with Otzot all while informing Misora of the news through Thought Communication.
He also gave her new orders.
"Begin cleaning him up for me eh?"
With Misora having access to Sivert's Taken and Vex, she'll be able to harass Calus's forces that are spread out through the stars.
Along with her powers that almost rival a True Demon Lord, she'll be an unstoppable force.
"It will be done."
Sivert stared silently at the war table, looking at the hologram it projected.
"Calus occupies the inner regions of your system. More importantly on Mars, It's where one of his main source of resources are from. However, we do not have the resources to attack and destroy his fleet there." Caital admitted though she hated to..
Sivert crossed his arms and looked up at Caital who stood on the other side of the war table that was surrounded by her advisors and members of her war council.
"I'm surprised he just left Sol.."
"Yes.. well he declared it a graveyard with no potential other than its resources.." Otzot explained..
The hunter rolled his eyes. How wrong he is, but he will admit. That choice saved himself from facing Sivert's wrath early on.
"Then allow me to take Mars for you Empress. I will deliver it to you swiftly so you may acquire the resources you need." Sivert told her.
"I do not doubt that. With your ship you are capable of-"
"I won't use the Supremacy. It is our Trump Card and I will only reveal it once we attack Calus directly. All I need is one ship." Sivert declared.
The other's on the War Council looked at him like he was some fool and Sivert didn't blame them.
But he wanted to keep the Supremacy's existence a secret for now because if Calus were to learn that such a ship existed and was used by his enemies.
He would retreat into the black gulphs of space. Making Sivert's job harder and longer..
Best to just make it look like that Caital is alone and is only gaining the upper hand through luck.
"I will bring you victory Empress. On my light I swear this." Sivert added on.
His golden eyes were full of promise.
Caital let out a low grunt as she couldn't believe she was about to allow this. But there was no other options.
Without enough resources, the Imperial Cabal wouldn't last in a direct confrontation with the Shadow Legion. It was amazing they lasted this long already!
"Very well. You will be given a carrier to assist you."
Sivert was hoping for a warship but a carrier was fine. Especially one.
"Thank you Empress."
Thankfully that all went well and smooth. Sivert can see he's not favorited among the war council by the other's but he'll change the way they look at him soon enough.
Before Sivert left with his carrier, he had to change garments since he is now serving under Caital.
It took some time but soon a set of cabal armor was made for him.
It was bulky, dark-grey armor with gold markings and Caital's sigil emblazoned onto the chest piece. It had a black cape with a large, white symbol on it, with blue areas near the end.
Similar armor that an Imperial Optus wears.
It's pretty comfortable to Sivert's surprise, he was definitely going to keep it when all of this was over.
Once the armor was situated, Sivert flown to the carrier he'd be taking. A Red Legion carrier..
Full of Red Legion Cabal that don't seem to like him. Even more after learning that he was the one who killed Ghaul and humiliated their forces throughout Sol..
It probably wouldn't be so bad if Otzot accompanied Sivert but sadly Caital wanted to have a word with her.
So.. Sivert was alone on this carrier..
Full of Red Legion.
Well, maybe once they see what he's capable of. They will look at him with some respect.
The bridge was quiet, Sivert could feel all eyes on him. No one spoke to him, not even the Psions who were known to socialize a lot attempted to communicate with him.
But he couldn't blame them. They're confused and are probably expecting to die a pointless death soon.
It's been half an hour since the carrier jumped into warp speed.
They were heading straight for Mars which was heavily fortified by a large Shadow Legion fleet.
Sivert wasn't concerned though, everything will go according to plan. Nothing could oppose him in this universe.
He could wipe everything out if he wanted to but he wasn't going to use that much power cause there'd be no fun in any of that.
That and because there's really no need..
The console on Sivert's right started beeping, meaning they were about to arrive.
He turned around and left the bridge without a word. Leaving the crew confused..
With some already believing he left like a coward.
In reality Sivert just left to the nearest hatch that led out into space and waited once the carrier arrived in Mars's orbit.
As soon as it did, he opened the hatch and climbed out, closing the hatch behind him.
He begun a quick spacewalk over the top of the carrier and stopped once he was standing on the bridge's glass.
Where the crew could see him, casually standing on top of the ship.. with no helmet of any sort..
Yet.. he was still alive…
Even the dumbest crew members knew a human can't survive without oxygen. So how the hell was Sivert managing this?!
"Proceed forward." Sivert ordered through the comms.
The crew hesitated, especially with the Shadow Legion Fleet straight ahead. With several warships and carriers awaiting them.
But seeing that they were already going straight anyways and that there was no turning back the crew increased the carrier's speed.
Sivert drew his beloved Ace of Spades and waited until they were in range.
The shadow legion fleet begun firing upon the lone carrier but the shields were holding…
For now..
Calling forth his Light, Sivert's Ace turned into a flaming golden gun.
The transformation was insanely bright, blinding the entire bridge crew. It almost looked like a mini star just formed on top of their ship.
Sivert aimed at the nearest Shadow Legion warship and fired.
With one shot, one entire Cabal Warship exploded. Sivert shot another one, that one meeting the same fate.
And another..
And another…
And another..
The bridge crew of his carrier couldn't believe they're very eyes and swore this was some dream.
One.. small puny human was annihilating this powerful fleet effortlessly.
The heavenly flames of his weapon were bright and inspirational along with the courage and bravery Sivert showed in the face of a larger force.
The crew became ready and inspired, they will follow their new Bracus into battle and claim Mars for their Empress!
Within minutes, the large Shadow Legion fleet stationed on Mars was destroyed and the carrier begun descending towards the surface.
To the largest Shadow Legion Firebase here on Mars.
As soon as the carrier entered Mars atmosphere Sivert leaped off the bridge windows.
Where he fell quickly and soon softly landed on a Red Legion Harvester that was deployed from his carrier along with many more to deploy the ground forces.
Sivert looked ahead where the Shadow Legion base was stationed. It was large and had heavy defenses.
But with a simple golden gun shot that created a devastating explosion, he destroyed a large portion of the base with ease.
Weakening the Shadow Legion forces on Mars greatly.
Now, he'll just let the Cabal under his command have fun.
The Harvester's stopped once they were close enough to the ground. Several Cabal Legionaries and Phalanx's were deployed along with a few centurions.
Sivert jumped off the Harvester he hitched a ride on and landed in front of his forces.
They marched behind their Bracus, and followed him into battle. With red legion drop pods crashing down near them.
The battle was won before it even begun.. there was still many Shadow Legion soldiers but they weren't enough for Sivert's forces.
He led his Cabal into battle, slaughtering the confused Shadow Legion forces with ease.
The battle lasted minutes and the base was secured with no casualties.
Soon the Carrier landed near the destroyed base and begun deploying the army Sivert was given.
Hundreds of Legionaries marched out, led by Colossi. Accompanying them were several Goliath Tanks as well.
Red Legion Interceptors filled the skies and begun making their way to the mining facilities the Shadow Legion built.
Bombing them straight to hell.
Within half an hour, Mars's was secured and the Shadow Legion lost their main source of resources in Sol.
Sivert watched from the sidelines as his troops begun constructing a firebase along with a fleet base along with mining facilities.
"The cabal sure do build stuff quick."
Unfortunately their quick building allows for a lot of back doors. Sivert knows this because he's used so many of them in the past against them.
His forces started to cheer his name.
Bracus Light..
Hearing Cabal cheer him really hyped Sivert up! He couldn't wait to lead them into battle again.
Within an hour, Caital's fleet arrived and covered the skies of Mars.
A Harvester belonging to Caital flew down from a Command Carrier and landed in front of Sivert.
The Empress exited the ship and walked towards the Hunter who awaited her.
He stood tall once Caital stopped in front of him.
"You have proved your worth Bracus Light. I have underestimated you, like many other's. I hope to see more victories like this."
Sivert bowed respectfully, "You will have nothing but victories. Empress." He stated confidently.
"Good, but remember. With this one victory alone. Your glory will be challenged and it is your duty to defend it."
Challenged…?
The crowd roared as the Cabal Valus that challenged Sivert entered the arena, pounding his chest with both his fist as he let out a mighty roar.
Sivert rolled his eyes at the dramatic entrance. This was worse than the dramatic entrances Shaxx's titans make in the crucible.
He was on Caital's ship and in a small arena built for challenges like this. It's only been a day and Sivert was already challenged to a Rite of Proving..
Apparently this Valus leads the Red Legion under Caital and is challenging Sivert in a Rite of Proving.
A large Centurion and he wielded a pair of large cleavers.
Sivert wielded no weapons and wasn't allowed to use his Light or Darkness. Not that he needed to either way.
Caital raised her right hand and brought it down, commencing the challenge.
The centurion ran towards Sivert immediately, leaping up into the air to bring his cleavers down upon Sivert to cut him in half.
Sivert simply side stepped, evading the Valus with ease before delivering a deadly palm strike with his right hand to the Valus's stomach.
That one strike alone left a big dent in his armor and inflicted a ton of pain onto the Valus.
Sivert delivered a swift and sharp kick to the Valus's right leg, destroying a part of his armor and breaking the Valus's leg.
The Hunter finished off with a sharp jab with the fingers of his right hand, piercing through the Valus's helmet and into his head.
Giving him a quick death..
Sivert pulled his hand out, the body dropped to the floor and he placed his right foot on the dead Valus's head, he rubbed the blood on his fingers onto his armor. Cleaning it off..
There was silence..
Sivert effortlessly killed a Valus within seconds using his raw strength alone and no one could.. say anything.
It wasn't even a fight..
Caital let out a small grunt of satisfaction.
"As per Cabal Custom! You are no longer Bracus Light. You are Valus Light."
Sivert's only been in Caital's Empire for two and he's already become a Valus. He'll rise through the ranks in no time!
"As your reward for securing Mars. You will lead the Red Legion and ensure that it marches again." Caital ordered.
Sivert bowed in response, "As you wish."
Sivert will rebuild the Red Legion in his name and It will be more powerful than it ever was..
The Hunter hummed quietly as he sat on a large seat meant for a Cabal Legionary..
But it was good enough for him.
He was in a Red Legion Harvester, alone. Other than the two Psions that were piloting it.
It was a silent ride, but silence allowed for Sivert to dwell in his thoughts..
He's still trying to take this all in. A few days ago he was in his throne world, then suddenly he found a big ship made for him by the Witness and then he was recruited into Caital's War council as a Bracus and then he became a Valus after killing the one who challenged him.
A lot to occur in only a couple of days..
Not only that, A Valus in the Red Legion too..
The very Legion responsible for the death of many Guardians, but! Even if he didn't plan for this, he's just going to go along with it.
Sivert looked down at his armor.
The same armor he wore that was given to him by Caital just..
It was remodeled into Red Legion Armor..
If Aria or any other guardian saw this, they'd be fuming with anger for sure!
Thankfully.. he will be able to leave this all behind once he deals with Calus.
The Harvester descended towards the moon of Phobos and flew over the recently constructed large Red Legion Fleet Base, it flew towards a personal landing pad for Sivert.
Once it landed, the side doors opened and Sivert walked out, he looked straight ahead and at a large tower that served as the base's Command Center and Control Tower.
Sivert looked down and at the pathway that led there, walking on the pathway and towards him was Otzot, accompanied by three Psions.
All four wearing Red Legion armor.
"Valus Light. Welcome to the new Fleetbase." Otzot greeted as she lowered her head. The other Psions followed in suit.
Sivert only nodded a little, he looked up and at the several Red Legion Carrier's descending towards the base.
The fleet was already big but it needed to be bigger for that was the task Caital gave him. Increase the size of the Red Legion fleet and to destroy the remaining Shadow Legion fleets in the system.
Sivert looked back down at Otzot.
"Come now my Valus, there is much to do." The Psion said as she turned around.
Sivert walked up next to the Psion and the two begun walking towards the Command Center with the four Psions accompanying them.
"The construction of the fleet is performing smoothly. Within a few months, you shall have a powerful force under your command my Valus."
"Good. Is the fleet combat ready though?" Sivert asked, meeting the Psion's one eye.
"Yes it is. I have also located the remaining Shadow Legion Fleet's in this system. They are stationed over Venus, Europa and many moons."
For calling Sol a graveyard, Calus sure left a bunch of firepower here. Even if it's just to harvest resources.
The hunter's eyes slightly widened in amazement. "You're a fast worker.."
"Thank you my Valus."
The two were accompanied by the three Psions and made their way into the Command Center where Sivert once again had to go through a long debriefing.
Fleet statistics, resource locations.. battle plans..
Etcetera.
After that, Otzot showed him a schematic she created for a ship.
"Your Command Ship my Valus.. a Mighty, Unrivaled Cabal Ship."
Sivert was once again amazed by this Psion. She was doing way too much for him in his opinion.. but he'd feel bad if he told her to calm down so he didn't say anything about it and just looked at the schematic.
Otzot's words were true, it was a large Cabal Ship.
It has a small resemblance to Ghaul's old Command ship the Immortal. Only it was more larger and held more firepower.
It's larger than a Cabal Command Carrier!
"I am aware of the Supremacy's position as your flagship but I believe it will approve the moral to see a mighty Cabal ship under your command lead the fleet."
It probably would and at the moment the Supremacy won't be leading any fleets. Misora is using the ship to strike Shadow Legion bases outside of Sol to help lighten up the resistance they will face once Caital and her empire leave to attack Calus.
"Will the Empress approve of this?"
"She already has and the ship is currently in construction."
"You work fast…."
"I must do my part to please you of course." The Psion replied with a gentle tone. "All it requires is a name Valus."
The Hunter crossed his arms and looked to his left, away from the war table in his war room.
He looked outside through the large glass window that allowed him to look at Mars.
Sivert stared at mars for a long.. silent moment.
He wasn't sure what to name it but when he spotted a familiar large volcano on mars. He decided the name.
"Olympus Mons."
Otzot lowered her head slightly as she praised Sivert. "A Mighty name. Then it is done. I will immediately inform you when the Olympus Mons is ready."
Sivert looked back at the Psion. "Alright, thank you. I want you to keep an eye on things here while I go lead the fleet to attack the Shadow Legion."
Otzot shivered in excitement when she heard that. After seeing the carrier recordings of him destroying the Shadow Legion fleet on mars with ease.
The Psion Flayer became obsessed with seeing Sivert use his power. It was a drug to her…
She loved it so much.
No.. she just loved him so much!
She could not wait to watch the upcoming recordings of him in battle once he returns.
"As you wish."
With that over with, Otzot left with her Psions. Walking past Four Cabal Bracus's and one Val that entered the war room, they were accompanied by several Centurions.
Sivert's Commanders. It was time to begin planning for the upcoming battles.
"Gather around boys."
They did just that, directing their full attention onto Sivert as they gathered around the round war table.
"So. We're looking at three big fleets carrying lots of firepower. No problem. We'll hit them hard and fast."
The hunter pulled up their first target. The fleet above Venus.
"Seventeen Warships and Thirteen Carriers. Lotta fuckin milk."
Even for Sivert's liking..
Red Legion fleets during the red war weren't even this big. The Legions entire fleet was large itself but they were never placed together like this.
Shows just how much power Calus can spare on a mere mining operation.
"No matter, We'll charge head first into their blockade with eight warships and four carriers. Val Ramus, I'm giving you five warships, you'll come in from here and hit them from behind once I give you the signal. If these guys are as dumb as Otzot says they are. We can break their formation and let them chase us after we make a fake tactical retreat so Ramus can slip in from behind with his warships and fuck them in their asses."
Such a strange plan for the commanders. It was definitely against their customs but Sivert has proven himself already, so they were willing to follow.
"Now, we ready to rumble?"
"Yes Valus!"
"I said we ready to rumble?!" Sivert yelled with excitement.
"YES VALUS!"
The commanders cheered loudly with enough power that even the Cabal outside could hear.
"Alright! Let's go hit them!"
None of this was necessary.. it really wasn't.
It'd take Sivert hours to wipe out all three fleets in Sol with his power alone, but there was no fun in it..
Being all powerful made things easier sure but it took a lot of fun out of fighting. That's why unless he needs too.
Sivert will not use his god like powers, he'll be leading a squadron of interceptors in his new jumpship he found on the Supremacy.
An upgraded and refined Arcadia Class jumpship that was carrying a lot of firepower!
"This works, we'll do it to the other fleets and clear em out in no time!"
Sivert yelled with a smirk, "YES VALUS!"
His commanders were loud in their response and they swiftly departed the war room.
Sivert chuckled and crossed his arms, "I might fall in love with these guys…"
Give the Cabal a good leader, and they'll be an unstoppable force.
Sivert will be that leader.
Lot of tension in his forces…
Sivert could feel it all, even for the ones who witnessed him destroy the fleet on Mars.
He walked through the hangar in his Command Carrier that will serve as his flagship until the Olympus Mons is done.
Interceptor pilots stood by, waiting as the Psions prepared their ships.
The hunter approached his jumpship that was the closest to the closed hangar doors, as it should be.
He was going to be leading therefor he'll be the first one out of this carrier.
He's never lead a squadron of interceptors, hell he hasn't even led a squadron of city jumpships..
"Meh.."
The hunter wasn't worried though, his leadership skills may be a little iffy but they should be fine. This war will allow him to build his leadership skills.
Sivert stopped right next to his jumpship, examining it.
The ship was white and golden….
Little to fancy for his liking but it was nice.
"Hm?"
The alarms on the hangar and throughout the ship started to go off. A signal for all personal to get to their battle stations.
"Arrived quick…"
Sivert was hoping to make some tweaks on his ship but it seems it will have to wait.
He lifted the helmet he carried in his right hand and put it on his head. A custom made helmet bearing red legion colors and possessing a T shaped visor.
The hunter transmatted into his jumpships cockpit and immediately took in what he was working with.
"Been a while….."
One hell of a while...
"Comm check."
"Good Valus." His Bracus commanding the fleet responded.
"Alright…"
Sivert begun activating his jumpship and leaned back in his very comfortable seat!
It didn't take long for the engines of the ship to start humming.
He took a quick look at the status of the systems, finding no issues. This jumpship, despite sitting in a dark hangar for centuries was running good!
Once he finished his check, the Carrier's hangar doors started to open.
"Wow…"
The fleet was already being shot at.
"They don't wait…"
Sivert's red legion warships returned fire to cover it's interceptors so they could depart from the carriers.
"Let's head out there!"
The hunter's jumpship hovered off the ground and the landing gear was brought in.
Taking the lead, Sivert flew out the hangar with multiple interceptors following behind.
"Hm.."
They were being shot at pretty good…
"Keep it steady."
A good formation was vital to the success of delivering effective damage to this blockade.
"Focus your fire on the closest carrier."
They get rid of those, the warships will have no cover and will quickly fall to the bombing interceptors.
Sivert led his squadrons through hell fire but even with so many projectiles shot at them, no one was struck..
The hunter will make sure no one dies under his command.
"Approaching our first carrier, here come their fighters."
Even in the face of a greater force, Sivert was speaking casually…
Shadow Legion interceptors flooded out of their carriers.
It was here Sivert and his squadron begun their attack.
"You all focus on the carriers. I'll deal with the fighters."
"Valus?"
A lone ship dealing with all those shadow legion interceptors. It was hard to believe even Sivert could take them all out!
"Just do it."
"Yes, Valus."
Sivert quickly broke off formation while the rest remained. They begun their attack on the carrier.
"Come on.."
The hunter increased the speed of his jumpship, reaching unbelievable speeds! This ship was fast!
He started firing upon a few interceptors, catching them by surprise and swiftly destroying them.
"Wrecked those guys…" he whispered in amusement.
After not flying a jumpship for so long. This was going to be fun.
His jumpship moved fast and combined with his quick reaction speed, Sivert was tearing through the interceptors before they could even reach his.
He moved to fast for any Shadow Legion interceptor to hit or even keep up with!
"Boom…"
He fired a missile that destroyed three interceptors together and shot down several more after.
Tearing through their forces was quite enjoyable.
The hunter took a quick peek at his interceptor squadrons. They bombed the hell out of the first Shadow Legion carrier, ruining it's shields and hull until it shut down.
"Good, keep it up. Let the warships finish that one up and let's move on to the next."
Still not a single casualty, while the shadow legion have already suffered major. With Sivert tearing through their fighters, the other carriers were vulnerable, allowing for his interceptors to make quick work of them!
"Yeah! Haha!"
Seeing those carriers explode made Sivert's day!
"You guys know I love that shit! Keep it up!" he yelled with excitement through the comms!
With their Valus cheering them on and providing flawless protection, the interceptor pilots kept up the good work taking down several more carriers within minutes!
"Oh?"
The fun soon ended though as Sivert noticed several warships breaking formation and advancing quickly on his fleet.
"All ships, pull back!"
Sivert ordered, there was no opposition and they quickly obeyed. The hunter covered their retreat, shooting down several more interceptors.
He kept an eye on the advancing warships. Good thing he had his fleet remain in their original position once arriving in orbit or else his ships would've gotten torn up in close range.
"Come on…. Further…"
The seven pursuing warships increased their speed, even as they took harder hits the closer they got.
"There it is."
They left one fat opening on their asses!
"Come on in Ramus." Sivert gave the signal.
Within seconds five red legion warships appeared in the opening the shadow legion left for them. Immediately firing on shadow legion warships advancing, tearing through their hulls with ease.
"Let's head back!"
Sivert and his squadrons turned back around and assisted in taking down the warships.
Caught off guard and with no idea how to respond to this surprise attack, the warships were torn through within seconds.
Leaving the remaining blockade alone with their ten warships and two remaining carriers.
Sivert's fleet swiftly advanced on them, with him and his squadrons making quick work of the remaining two carriers. The warships were now without fighter support.
Easy pickings..
One by one they fell and Sivert himself even took two down.
Within minutes, the fleet was destroyed and no more!
And the Red Legion didn't suffer a single casualty.
"Nice work out there. Let's get rid of their firebase and move on to the next."
Their work was not over though.
Within days, Sivert gained the full respect and admiration of his Commanders.. His mind was sharp when it came to battle and the strategy's he came up with were like no other.
He had the mind of a Primus and that would soon be witnessed by Caital herself.
She watched from her ship, a live recording transmitted to her.
The Empress and her War Council watched Sivert lead a small fleet with 7 warships and 4 carriers take out a larger Shadow Legion Fleet with ease in Europa's orbit. He didn't even use his god like powers either.
A beautiful pincer maneuver that caught them off guard and completely annihlated them.
Never has she ever witnessed such a beautiful commanding.
It even got more exciting when she watched him lead squadrons of Interceptor's in his own jumpship.
Weakening the Cabal warships and carrier's over Europa to allow his fleet to finish the job.
He was an excellent pilot and leader. After that he made way for the other Shadow Legion Fleets..
Wiping them off of existence..
Within a month.. the Shadow Legion's influence in Sol was wiped out and Sivert was becoming very popular not only among the Red Legion but the rest of the Cabal.
Due to his quick victories and his powerful, strategic mind.
Sivert was promoted to Primus of the Red Legion by Caital with the full support of her war council.
After so long, the Cabal Empire had a new Primus.
Primus Light…
But there was still much to do.
Nimerah was dead silent..
Staring at Aria who just finished with her report. She served as Sivert's messenger as he is capable of contacting her still. Only she can't reply and only listen.
"He…. Became a Primus?"
There was no words to describe how confused Nimerah was.
Just what the hell was Sivert up too?!
This is why she hates him as much as she admires him! He's unpredictable! Always coming up with ways to surprise everyone!
"Mhm."
Aria didn't mind, already used to it.
"And he's building a big Cabal Fleet on Phobos?"
"Yup."
Nimerah just let go..
Her head fell face first on her desk.
Being Commander of the Vanguard was hard enough. Having to rebuild it and ensure it stays strong.
But dealing with Sivert's shenanigans..
Oh Nimerah could not take it..
"Are you alright?" Aria asked.
"No…."
"If it makes you feel any better. Sivert has no plans on bringing them back here. He's just helping Caital defeat Calus.."
Those words did make Nimerah feel quite good actually.
"I hope your right.."
Then again, Sivert changes plans a lot!
The door to Nimerah's office opened and the warlock Aurora entered.
"Nimerah, it's time."
"I know…"
"Time? Time for what?"
Aria was very curious now.
"I'm going to Tempest to sign some papers with Demon Lord Rimuru."
"Papers?"
"Non-Aggression pacts. That type of stuff."
"Oh. That's good!"
Nimerah wanted to establish a strong, stable relationship with Tempest and she didn't need Sivert's permission for that.
The warlock stood up from her chair and sighed.
"Time to go. See you soon Aria."
"You as well."
Aria prays it all goes well.
Rimuru looked down at the several papers on the table presented before him. He looked back up at the beautiful Elf Goddess before him..
To think Sivert was hiding this beauty!
Oh Rimuru could stare at her until the end of time!
But making any moves? Well that was something he was not going to attempt. This Elf was powerful..
The meeting room was quiet, Rimuru stood in front of the top of the long wooden table while Nimerah stood on the opposite side of him.
Shion and Benimaru were in the room.
"Thank you."
Nimerah lowered her head a little after taking a cup of tea from Shuna who offered it to her.
"Of course!"
That charming smile..
Oh she was an angel, now Nimerah knows why that fan club of her exists and might just allow them to remain in the Tower..
She took a sip of the tea and placed it on the table.
Standing behind the warlock on both her rears is the Warlock Aurora and the mighty Lord Shaxx.
Everything was going well.
Nimerah signed a treaty between Tempest and the Vanguard, if Tempest were to be in danger, the Vanguard would support.
Same goes for the Vanguard, Tempest would support.
Then…
There was a difficult paper Rimuru presented.
Sharing tech, science, history.
That was all up to Sivert but Nimerah didn't want to be here forever. So she went with what she believes Sivert would go with.
"We can share but.. not all of it at once. Once you show that you can maintain this Nation, It's people and hold good intentions. We will begin sharing what we have and know."
Rimuru was completely fine with that, he has Sivert's trust but not the Vanguard's. Or at least their full trust.
He is a Demon Lord after all.
"Now, Sivert has said he'll allow sparrow racing in Tempest but he hasn't really given the green light for the Crucible. I'm curious if you'd like to hold Crucible matches here in Tempest.. um.. Lord Shaxx."
Despite being a Demon Lord, Rimuru cowered in Shaxx's presence.. he was…
Mighty.
Nimerah turned to look at Shaxx as it was up to him to answer that.
"I have no problem but I shall leave it up to Sivert to decide."
Damn!
Rimuru had so many plans for the Crucible. The money Tempest could make from it..
Oh it truly made him drool!
"Very well.. now here's what I wanted to show you."
Rimuru slid a pile of papers across the table and towards Nimerah.
The warlock picked up the first one.
Her eyes slightly widened in amazement.
"Any harm done against a Lightbearer or their ghost is against the law here?"
There was many other laws about Lightbearer's and Ghost's as well..
Mostly protection laws..
Like if you tried to steal a ghost then you'd be sentenced to five years in prison if the Ghost wishes to press charges.
"Yup! Hopefully.. if possible and I succeed. I'd like to present the same laws to the Western Council."
He'd go that far for them.. to help them secure a place in this world and to keep them safe.
Nimerah smiled a little, now she sees why Sivert favors this slime so much. "That will be most welcomed Demon Lord Rimuru."
It was done..
The ties were strengthened and strong..
And will continue to grow stronger..
The Vanguard has a powerful ally now, a Demon Lord among the newly formed Octagram who resides in the Jura Forest with the Storm Dragon Veldora.
Oh Nimerah's day continued to get better, of course.
She was cautious on what Sivert had in store for her in the future but for now, she was going to celebrate this win by relaxing and taking the next few weeks off to have a small little vacation in Tempest!
"Agh! Aghhhhh!"
His cries rang throughout the battlefield, even as explosions and gunshots occurred. The pain was too much!
Without wasting anymore time, the goblin who shot him finished the awoken male off with a shot to the head.
"Goddamnit! Who the fuck, pissed off the goddamn Vex?!"
A titan yelled with absolute rage, he loaded his machine gun for the fifth time and peeked out from behind cover, completely mowing down the endless waves of goblins that marched on them.
It started off as small, minor vex incursions on their conquered moons. Then they got worse.
They started hitting their fleetbases!
Currently the fleetbase this Titan was tasked with protecting was under siege by the Vex! The entire base was surrounded and every hour they gained ground.
"Do not lose this base you pigs!" The titan yelled at the cabal under his command. Some of them were just mindless clones but most were normal.
Still dumb as shit though..
The titan and his forces were doing fine until they lost their air superiority thanks to the endless amounts of Hydra's that took to the air and shot his warships to hell.
Now it was just him, a hunter and two warlocks and the base garrison. Which amounted up to a few hundred troops.
Mixed troops, most of them were cabal but there were a few awoken, human and Eliksni warriors.
They sucked just as much as the cabal troops did!
"Really wish we had a tormentor here…"
They were hard to command but they were monsters. Even one would tear through the attacking Vex.
"Umph!"
An awoken warrior who fired upon the Vex close by was struck in the face, their now lifeless body laid on the floor.
"Shit…"
This day was not going to end well. They had no ships so they couldn't evacuate and he doesn't even know if the distress signal he sent out actually sent out because of the Vex interfering with their network!
"We got another big one!"
One of the warlocks shouted at him. The Titan searched through the endless wave of approaching Vex, where he could see a large bulky minotaur.
The titan had already destroyed four of those big minotaur's, now there was another one!
"East side is reporting more Hydra's!"
"West side has more Wyverns!"
A complete shit show…
"They have us surrounded!"
"We won't last!"
To add to the shit show, the poorly trained garrison here were shitting their pants! They've never seen combat before and if ever it was definitely only against poor fallen pirates.
Not destructive war machines!
*BOOOOM!*
The entire base shook and the titan spotted smoke emitting from the south side of the base.
"The southern walls have fallen!"
"We're doomed!"
"Shut the fuck up and let me think!"
He couldn't think of shit with all this crying! No.. that was just a poor excuse for the shitty situation.
He can't think of shit with all that's going on! He missed just relaxing in his office doing nothing and letting everyone else do the work.
He worked hard to reach the position of fleetbase commander. The amount of tournaments he had to win to impress his Emperor, just for this?!
It was unfair!
It was bullshit!
"Looks like you're in deep shit Cam!"
The titan's internal cursing was silenced by a female voice heard throughout his comms.
"You guys actually got the signal."
"You're lucky my fleet was close by to even receive it."
It was a friend of his, well a love interest in truth. Her seductive voice combined with her awoken beauty..
Cam loved her! But she can such an annoying shit!
"Guess I am. Now get down here Riis!"
She was named after the Eliksni homeworld by her ghost and while that throws most men off it doesn't throw him off!
"Sending harvesters to pick you up." She replied.
Cam nodded silently in approval as he looked up at the sky where he could spot three shadow legion warships and one carrier.
They were positioned far from the base.
Smart…
The vex haven't spotted them yet so they won't go after them.
Soon enough, Cabal harvesters flew down from the carrier, with two landing near Cam and his defensive position.
"We're overrun!"
"Shit!"
*BOOM!*
The walls of his position exploded and the vex swiftly advanced upon his forces. "Get to the ships!"
Cam ordered.
He was rough with his forces but he wasn't cruel enough to leave them behind! But he was cruel enough to not even bother covering them!
Which resulted in several more deaths for the poor bastards.
No matter!
As long as he lives it's a win!
The titan ran as fast as he could, dodging projectiles left and right as they hit his troops.
"Ngh!"
The titan dove into the harvester as did a few others.
"Go, Go, go!"
The piloting Psion obeyed and shut the doors to the harvester, leaving a few men outside to die gruesome deaths at the hands of a minotaur.
The harvesters took off from the ground in no time, breaking orbit within seconds and soon reaching the carrier hangars.
Cam exited the harvester, turning his eyes outside and down below at his base. There were a few minor explosions but then the entire base soon exploded all while the rescue fleet retreated.
"Damnit!"
He hopes they give him a new fleetbase to command, who knows. It might be better than that cursed moon he was just on!
"The report is going to be a bitch to file…"
He already knows…..
Whatever, he made it out alive.
That's all that matters to Cam.
He stormed down the hallway, past the fresh warriors who hadn't just been where he was at now. Must've been nice to relax on a comfy warship!
Cam made a right down another hallway, he reached the end which was a large door that automatically opened for him.
The titan entered the bridge that was in full war mode.
"Report Cammy boy."
"I don't take orders from you Riis." Cam replied with slight anger, looking at the hunter that sat elegantly on her chair.
"Somebody bring me a drink."
An awoken bridge officer ran up to Cam with a large canteen of water. Cam took it from his hand and popped the cap open, chugging the water.
"Tch."
He spit the water out and all over the bridge floor. "Fuck the water, bring me alcohol."
He needs it after the shit he just went through..
The awoken bridge officer handed him a canteen of rum. Not the best alcohol they have to offer but it was what they have now.
So Cam opened it and chugged it.
"You've been demoted Cam."
"Hmmm?"
He almost choked on his drink when hearing those words, the titan finished chugging and shoved the canteen back into the awoken officer's arms before turning around to look at Riis.
"Fuck you say?"
"Just came in from command. You are now back down to squadron leader."
"On who's orders?!"
"Cody's orders."
"Fuck Cody! That prideful little shit!"
Cam has always wanted to tear that warlock up! Who gives a shit if he has a sharp mind. He shouldn't have such a high rank of Fleet Admiral!
"Goddamnit!"
This was not a good day for Cam.
"You two used be such good friends though!" Riis teased.
"Until he became an asshole!"
The huntress laughed his anger off and looked back at the tablet in her hand.
"I'm in charge now. You're under my command."
"Whatever…."
It shouldn't take long to convince the Emperor to promote Cam back to his original rank.
"So answer my previous request and report!"
"Isn't it obvious? Somebody pissed off the Vex and they've been hitting my bases hard as shit! I've lost three fleets and ten bases."
"Did you piss off the Vex?"
"Hell no!"
Cam may be hotheaded but he hates getting involved with the Vex and did everything he could to make sure his forces avoided contact with them.
"They just came out of nowhere. Starting off as small assaults, then full on invasions of my forces!"
"Hm.."
This was clearly troubling.
The Shadow Legion hasn't had much contact with the Vex, not after leaving Sol, but if they did then they were usually dealt with without trouble. They were technically the only threat that face the Legion faced.
"Hm?"
Riis's tablet started blinking and she received a message.
"What is it?"
"Cody sent new orders. We're to meet his fleet at fleetbase Oros. He's rallying up our forces in this sector to plan a huge assault on the Vex."
"Can't wait till that bites him in the ass.."
If Cam can prove himself during the battle then he might secure a big promotion. Even if Cody fails, the Emperor might turn his gaze towards the titan and promote him to Fleet Admiral!
"Set course for Oros."
"Yes Captain!"
"I don't like this Riis." Cam told the hunter.
"Like what?"
"The vex wouldn't hit my forces like that without purpose. I think they created a new mind with the sole purpose of destroying us."
"Hmm.. if so then it's clear we have to destroy that mind. Till then, get some rest Cam. Will wake you once we arrive."
"Will do…."
The Titan wasted no time walking out of the bridge and heading to his new quarters.
He isn't sure what's going on but his gut his telling him that they are not ready for what's to come..
With the mysterious Vex attacks…
Who knows what will happen next?
The End.
Not the type to use that type of affect. The explosion one. *BOOM*
But I figured I might as well give it a try to add more life to the fic.
And plus, it's better then typing "?" before something crazy happens. So expect to see that and many more like it in future chapters. Now, I'm going to be honest. I have no clue how Destiny space battles work.
I know Cabal warships are deadly up close, I just don't know how deadly they are to other warships.
Primus Light... ha. Bet you guys didn't expect that.
Neither did I...
Anyways hoped you enjoyed. See you next chapter!
