Duke Leto, Marcus, and Paul exit Leto's ornithopter and start to walk in the direction of the Residency. Leto orders his two sons in a firm voice.
Leto: You two cannot take such risks. You both have responsibilities.
Marcus: Sorry father. It was my fault.
Paul: Sorry, sir. It won't happen again.
Leto: Go!
Both Atreides brothers leave, shaken. Beside the ornithopter, Kynes stands watching. Leto strides towards her.
Leto: With your own eyes, it's plain to see. Everything they left is in shambles. We've been set up to fail.
Kynes: That carryall was not sabotaged, just old. The desert isn't kind to equipment.
Leto: You know what'll happen if I fail to get spice production back on track.
Kynes: I'm not here to take your part. Arrakis has seen men like you come and go.

SALUSA SECUNDUS
Imperial Army Planet
A military base on a harsh planet is home to a massive military base with gunships and troop carriers. Ornithopters buzz overhead, and the Emperor's crest is displayed on giant Imperial flags. Thousands of warriors, known as Sardaukar, are pale-skinned and bearded, with long hair. These savages have aggression and bloodlust and lack compassion. A priest sings a menacing litany in a foreign tongue, while vicars walk among the soldiers with bowls of blood, daubing each Sardaukar's forehead and tongue. The blood flows from the sliced throats of prisoners crucified upside down at the edge of the field.
An officer leads Piter de Vries on troop inspection, facing challenges and facing challenges.
Officer: Why does the Baron need us? Harkonnens outnumber the Atreides.
Piter: The Atreides legions are the finest in the Imperium. Trained by Gurney Halleck and Duncan Idaho. We've also been led to believe that there is a force user among them.
Officer: Yes, I've heard. They have been the subject of much speculation and rumour. Some say they possess extraordinary abilities, while others dismiss it as mere myth. Regardless, we are the Sardaukar. The Emperor's blades. Those who stand against us fall.
Piter: Just so. Three battalions. As agreed. As a precaution, send in your soldiers to deal with force-sensitivity subjects, in the case of the force user in House Atreides.
Officer: The Emperor commands it. It is done.TIME SKIP
Paul is examined by Doctor Yueh, Jessica and Marcus stand near him, and both are concerned.
Dr. Yueh: Spice is a psychoactive chemical. You and your brother both seem to be sensitive. You'll both be fine.
Jessica: Thank you, Dr. Yueh
Dr Yueh nods and exits
Paul: It wasn't an allergic reaction. But I had a vision. My eyes were wide open.
Jessica: What did you see?
Chani, a young woman with blue eyes, smiles at Paul, a saviour. She leans close as if to kiss him. Chani darkens, and Paul sees a crysknife sticking out of his chest. Paul falls on his knees, like he did in the desert.
Paul: It's confusing. I thought I saw my death, only it wasn't. I know a knife is important somehow. Someone will hand me a blade. But I don't know who, or when, or where. Some things tho, are crystal clear, I can feel it.
Jessica holds a baby in Fremen clothes, her face is covered in ancient Fremen words and a crysknife is by her side.
Paul: I know you're pregnant
Jessica grips her stomach as she stares at Paul in fear. Marcus doesn't appear surprised because he is already aware that his mother is pregnant.
Marcus: As do I
Jessica then looks at her other son with the same expression.
Jessica: You can't know that. I barely know that. It's only been a few weeks.
Marcus then makes his way over to his mother. He bends down to her level. He reaches out to her stomach with his right hand. He puts his hand over her belly, he then closes his eyes and reaches out with the force.
Marcus: It's healthy and strong, I know that much
Jessica: Anything else?
Marcus: Nothing yet. I guess you would like to keep this between ourselves for now.
Jessica: Please
Marcus: Of course, mother.
Paul nods at his mother
Jessica is about to leave her two sons before...
Jessica: What happened to you Marcus? When you were out there in the spice field.
Marcus: I'm not entirely sure, but whatever it was it seems to have made my connection to the force even more stronger and clearer than before. I feel very different but stronger in a way.
Jessica: Just remember what the Reverend Mother said. You must learn to control it.
Marcus: I will mother, I promise.
Jessica nods and leaves the room. She is now aware that Paul is "The One". And Marcus has abilities beyond anyone's thoughts and capacities. She then enters her bedroom to see Leto with his back to her.
Jessica: There is something you need to know about our sons.
Leto: No. Don't think I wanna know. Ever since you brought them before your Reverend Mother, they haven't been the same. Marcus and Paul are distracted. Jessica, you gave me two sons and from the moment both of them were born I never questioned you, I trusted you completely. Even when you walked in shadows. Now I am asking you this one thing.
Leto steps closer to her
Leto: If anything happens will you protect our sons?
Jessica: With my life
Leto: I'm not asking their mother, I'm asking the Bene Gesserit.
Jessica is taken back by the comment made by him
Leto: Will you protect Marcus and Paul?
Jessica steps forward, her hands on his shoulder
Jessica: Why are you having these thoughts? Leto this is not you.
Leto: I thought we'd have more time.
Marcus is in his room working on a helmet with the material that Duncan provided him—some kind of combat helmet—and making some personal altercations with the stillsuit. He is determined to make the perfect gear for any upcoming desert expedition. Marcus carefully measures and cuts the materials, ensuring that every detail is precise. As he works, he imagines himself trekking through the harsh desert terrain, feeling confident in his custom-made equipment. As he is working, he feels a presence enter the room. He halts on working on the helmet, turning around to see Dr. Yueh enter.
Marcus: Dr. Yueh
Dr. Yueh: Master Marcus
Dr. Yueh walks over to the desk beside Marcus' bed and puts down a tray with a small pill and a glass of water
Dr. Yueh: Sleep well, Master Marcus
Marcus: Good night Dr. Yueh.
Marcus sees Dr. Yueh leave his room, then continues working on his combat helmet, having already completed his personalised stillsuit.

Leto wakes up with anxiety, the room is dark, and the city is silent. He looks at Jessica, who sleeps beside him. A flickering light on the Shield Wall cliffs draws his attention, barely visible at the edge of the window.
Leto walks down a hallway to a wide window with a clear view of the Shield Wall. A flashing light appears, and he frowns. A strange mewling noise turns his head, and he switches on his shield and draws a knife. He reaches for his transceiver as he moves after the sound.
Leto: Hawat, Security. Security.
No answer.
A figure moves in the shadows, dragging itself along the floor with a knife jutting from its back. A trail of blood follows, and it's the Shadout Mapes. Dying by inches, Leto kneels beside her, and she mumbles inaudible words before dying.
A dart pistol fires, causing a dart to fly towards Leto's shield. The dart opens its wings, slows, and folds into Leto's back. Leto stiffens, spinning but his legs buckle. He staggers and slides down the wall, clattering with a knife. Leto has become paralysed. Doctor Yueh enters.
Gurney Halley sleeps beside the regiment in steel bunks, but a Lieutenant wakes him up.
Lieutenant: Sir. Sir! The shield has come down.
Wearing belts and jackets, Gurney and his men make their entrance into the darkness. They can make out the operating lights of the Guild Heighliner and a vast Harkonnen war fleet emerging from it. Gurney feels helpless when he sees frigates, gunships, and troop carriers fighting in the sky.
Gurney: God in Heaven. Get everything with guns off the ground! Go!
A major and impressive explosion burns up the spaceport control tower.
Gurney and his soldiers must deal with an Atreides frigate explosion that is pounding the spaceport. As they charge the Harkonnen warriors, they lead their men over the runway. Gurney takes an enemy sword as the final one falls after killing three of them. While being shelled, Gurney roars like a lion.
Gurney: WITH ME! WITH ME!
As the man charges into hell, swords are seen, and Harkonnen troopships are seen landing nearby. As the dead pile up at their feet, the Atreides house guards resist the Harkonnens. Sardaukar flies down and joins the conflict. Guards for Atreides are overpowered, and an invasion army enters the Residency after breaking through.
Duke Leto leans against the wall with his shield off. Yueh leans over the man. Leto tries to stand up but is paralysed.
Dr. Yueh: I'm sorry, my Lord. But I've made a bargain with the Baron.
Leto: Why...?
Dr. Yueh: I had no choice. The Harkonnens have my wife. Wanna. They take her apart like a doll. I will buy her freedom. And you are the price
He pulls the Ducal signet ring off Leto's hand. Holds it up.
Dr. Yueh: For Paul and Marcus. I will do what I can. And you will kill a man for me. I'm going to replace your peg tooth.
He holds up a false tooth
Dr. Yueh: If you bite down hard, this tooth will crush. Breathe out, and you will fill the air with poison. It will be your last breath. But if you choose your moment well... it will also be the Baron's
While sleeping, Paul stirs. moving eyes under closed eyelids. His door is opened by a Harkonnen soldier.
The sound of crashing metal and distant cries broke the silence of the night. The distinct sound of war startled Marcus awake, quickly sharpening his senses. He jumped out of bed with a rush of adrenaline flowing through him, his only thought being how to keep his family safe.
Marcus made a quick motion to grab his lightsaber, the feel of the hilt in his hand comfortable and familiar. Felt the cool metal rub against his skin. He put on his still suit in one last motion, its strengthened cloth encasing him in defence against the harsh desert climate.
Marcus entered the darkly lit hallways of his house, his heart racing with a mix of anxiety and determination. He proceeded with stealth and purpose, the buzz of swords clanging against each other echoing down the quiet passageways while the flickering glow of emergency lights threw unsettling shadows.
Marcus noticed two Sardaukar-armored figures as he moved deeper into the home; their threatening presence cast an unsettling shadow over the formerly quiet passageways. He became increasingly angry and determined as he became aware of the danger they posed.
Marcus lit up his blue lightsaber without thinking, its sharp blade piercing the night and putting a blue glare across his resolute face. With his training and Force connection guiding him at all times, he confronted the Sardaukar soldiers head-on.The troops pushed forward without saying a word, their swords blazing in the low light. As the combat began, the sound of steel and energy clashed down the hallway.
The attacks of the trained Sardaukar warriors were calculated and exact. Marcus dodged their assaults roughly, his lightsaber twirling through the air. Combat unfolded in a complex ballet of might and strategy, with each movement.
Marcus had to adjust his motions to the cramped conditions of the passageway due to the small area. He was forced to be on the defence as the soldiers continued to press their advantage. Sparks flew as specialised metal weapons collided with lightsabers, and the noise of their conflict echoed throughout the building.Marcus could feel the stress of the conflict, which was written on his brow. He was tested to the breaking point by the ability of the Sardaukar troops, who proved to be tough foes. He channelled the Force, using its power to quicken his reflexes and increase his accuracy.
Marcus reached out with his hand and pushing them both back a few feet with the force, causing the troops to back off, momentarily. His training and connection to the Force guided every move made by his lightsaber, which moved in a whirl of motion. However, the soldiers regrouped and renewed their assault.
Marcus' resolve remained unbroken while the conflict waged on. As he just about, dodged their blows, he sensed the rhythm and ebb and flow of the battle. He disarmed one of the troops with a well-timed blow, leaving him temporarily defenceless. Marcus uses the force to lift the disarmed Sardaukar soldier and force push him into one of the walls, cracking the wall and killing the unarmed Sardaukar soldier.
Marcus began to strike as soon as he realised his advantage. With a series of deliberate blows, he closed in on the last trooper with his lightsaber blade as it swirled through the air. The soldier put up a heroic fight, but Marcus now had the upper hand.
Marcus disarmed the second soldier with a final, strong strike, his lightsaber blade poised at their throat. At a very slow pace, Marcus slowly breaks the shield of the Sardaukar soldier and kills the last one he sees.
Marcus lowered and turned off his lightsaber as it started to lose its hum. The weight of the conflict was beginning to rest upon his shoulders as he assessed the situation. A reminder of the perils they faced on Arrakis was provided by the Sardaukar soldiers, who were defeated. He then makes the decision to put on his newly constructed helmet. He turns a few corners to head to his parents and Paul's rooms, but as he does so, he notices Duncan engaged in combat with a few Sardukar troops.
In the hallway, Duncan Idaho comes across a Sardaukar, who uses his shield to strike him. Duncan uses a slow-draw pistol to kill three Sardaukars in total. Duncan parries a blow from the Sardaukar, slices out one dart with his sword, and eliminates the second dart before it can strike Duncan. Unknown to him, another Sardaukar soldier goes to attack him from behind, Marcus sees this, and reaches out with the force. He makes the Sardaukar soldier freeze on the spot, before throwing him up against a wall. Duncan turns around and sees a masked figure lifting the Sardaukar soldier in the air and pushing him towards Duncan.
After that, he lunges and knocks the last soldier Sardaukar out. Duncan focuses his attention on the masked figure.
Duncan: Halt right there!
Marcus doesn't move at all
Duncan: Who are you, masked one? State your purpose!
Marcus hesitates for a second before he sees Duncan rushing towards him. Marcus gets prepared for Duncan's attacks. Not wanting to hurt him, he keeps his lightsaber clipped to his belt. Marcus dodges all of Duncan's swings, sometimes even using the force to help him.
Finally, Duncan is able to get locked in with Marcus as he trips him and swings down at him on the ground. Marcus reaches out with the force and pushes Duncan a few feet away from him. Marcus gets up real quick before Duncan can start another attack.
Marcus: Duncan, it's me
Duncan stops in his tracks and looks at the masked figure with confusion.
Marcus then takes off his helmet, revealing to Duncan it's him.
Duncan: Marcus?
Marcus: Yes
Duncan: My boy
The two rush forward and embrace one another.
Duncan: You have unique abilities!
Marcus: The force, yes.
Duncan: Where are your father, mother and brother?
Marcus is silent for a few seconds
Marcus: My father is dead or will be. I'm not sure of the fate of my mother and brother.
Duncan is in shock, he kneels down to Marcus. He takes his hand and puts it on his forehead
Duncan: I'm so sorry, my lord
Marcus: On your feet, soldier!
Duncan immediately rises.
Marcus: We must find them. Take an ornithopter and look for them in the desert. If you find them, send a signal.
Duncan: What about you?
Marcus: I'm going to get help... from the desert. If you find my mother and brother, tell them I am alive and well, and that I am seeking help.
Duncan nods, as he knows exactly who Marcus is referring to. The two are about to go their own separate ways
Marcus: Duncan!
Duncan stops and turns around to face Marcus
Marcus: Thank you, for everything
Duncan: You're welcome, my boy
With a final nod, Marcus and Duncan parted ways, their footsteps swallowed by the desert sands as they embarked on their separate paths.
Marcus's blue lightsaber ignited fiercely, and the Force directed each step he took. He engaged the enemy forces in close-quarters combat while dodging incoming attacks. He sliced through the chaos with precision blows and strict defences.Marcus's attention was fixed on one objective despite the intensity of the battle: to go to the safety of the desert and enlist the help of the Fremen. Though the path was difficult and filled with opposition, each step got him closer to his goal.
Soldiers of the Harkonnen House charged towards him out of allegiance to the vile goals of their House. Warriors from the Sardaukar tribe engaged him in bloody combat. Marcus's lightsaber spun in a deadly swing, deflecting blade attacks and taking down opponents.
Marcus's head was a tornado of feelings as he battled. His ambition to preserve his family's tradition coexisted with his grief at the death of his father. His internal rush of the Force fuelled each of his blows and sharpened his senses.
Marcus's route took him to the perimeter of the property through the chaos of combat. He was aware that the desert provided the comfort he needed, a time for him to reorganise and locate the Fremen for assistance. His resolve became greater as he defeated each foe.
Finally, he arrived at the edge of the desert, where the sands spread out in front of him like an uncontrolled sea. An ornithopter in the distance beckoned, its engines buzzing with promise. As he ran towards it with the desert wind tearing through his hair, Marcus's pulse raced.
But the rival remained persistent. A final wave of Harkonnen soldiers and Sardaukar warriors advanced as he got closer to the ornithopter, determined to prevent his escape. Marcus' lightsaber whirled in a never-ending series of blows, the Force and his talent serving as his best allies.
His lightsaber's incredible accuracy allowed him to intercept any unwanted attacks that were streaking through the night air. His unpredictable behaviour was in opposition to his game of survival. His foes fell before him one by one, each demise a testament to his unshakable will.
Marcus eventually found a clear path to the ornithopter's side. With a rush of adrenaline, he jumped into the cockpit without hesitation. His touch activated the controls, and the ornithopter blasted off, leaving the destruction of the Atreides compound in its path.
Marcus looked down at the sands below as he flew over the desert landscape. The desert spread out like a huge canvas, hiding mysteries and difficulties that were just waiting to be discovered. He was travelling into the unknown, led by the Fremen, a beacon of hope.
Duncan kills four soldiers while attacking one. As the soldiers run away, Duncan launches rockets at the Harkonnen Troop Transports from the ornithopter. Duncan is being fired upon by an enemy ship, but he manages to dodge the missile by sheltering in an area occupied by Harkonnen soldiers. The tragedy serves as a reminder of the risks of military conflict and the demand for a coordinated effort to safeguard the lives of everyone involved.
As a frigate bombs the area, Duncan fires at the soldiers and flees down an avenue. His ornithopter comes to a stop and does a vertical manoeuvre to resurface. He launches his ornithopter against the city's defence wall while being pursued by the frigate, narrowly dodging missiles and dissolving into thick smoke. He eventually makes it out.
A deaf trooper with a scarred face and two other troopers roughly load Jessica and Paul into an ornithopter.
They are forced into chairs by soldiers, who then fasten them.
The Second Trooper pilots. The copilot and navigator seats are occupied by the First Trooper and Deaf Trooper, respectively.
Jessica and Paul are paralysed, bound ankles. Behind them, their hands were tied. Jessica was still gaged. They stare in despair at Arrakeen's destruction, the infinite number of Harkonnen soldiers and battleships.
The Troopers don't have much to do while the ornithopter maintains its course. They rotate. They focus on Jessica.
Trooper #1: I never had a highborn. You?
Trooper #2: Finne Gesserit ain't all highborn.
Trooper #1: She's highborn enough for me.
Deaf Trooper: Let's feed the kid to the worms and give her a long goodbye.
Paul: Don't you dare touch my mother
Trooper #1 backhands Paul in the face. Paul grunts in pain.
Deaf Trooper: Don't talk
Low over the sand dunes, the ornithopter moves towards the actual desert.
Paul breathes more slowly. controls his body. Takes a breath. Jessica freezes as she notices what he's about to do. He isn't prepared. She uses specific hand signals in an attempt to get his attention but to no success.
Jessica: (Hand signalling to Paul) Don't! You are not ready.
Paul: (attempting the voice) REMOVE HER GAG.
No impact. Trooper #1 stands up and strikes Paul in his stomach. Paul groans in agony, unable to breathe.
Trooper #1: Shut up
Jessica: (Hand signalling to Paul) Find the right pitch
Trooper #2: We're far enough. Let's throw the boy out.
Trooper #1 nods and opens the side door. Paul turns to face his mum.
Paul is released from his seat's restraints by Trooper #1, who bends over. Paul retries as soon as his buckles are free.
Paul: REMOVE HER GAG
Perfect tone. He speaks with an odd amount of authority.
The First Trooper turns to Jessica as if it were his own idea, takes out his knife, and cuts her gag-free.
The Deaf Trooper discovers what he is doing too late. He drags the First Trooper off of him. They struggle as they stutter back.
Jessica: KILL HIM
The First Trooper quickly stabs the Deaf Trooper in the throat with his dagger.
The knife sticks out from the Deaf Trooper's throat as he remains still Paralysed.
Jessica: SET US FREE
Jessica's seat belt is unlatched by the First Trooper. He pulls the Deaf Trooper's throat clean of his knife. The neck of the deaf guy gouts blood. He wobbles, but he doesn't trip.
When the Second Trooper gives up the controls, rushes back, and shoves the First Trooper aside, the First Trooper kneels and cuts Paul's ankles free.
He attempts to gag Jessica once more desperately. She is prevented from speaking by his clumsy efforts.
The ornithopter's autopilot kicks in SAFE LANDING PROTOCOL.
Paul jumps up from his chair while his hands are still restrained. His foot digs deep and causes injury as he strikes the First Trooper's solar plexus with a powerful kick. Paul ejects the First Trooper from the moving ornithopter when he collapses over.
Paul hears a knife whistling at his neck as the Second Trooper rejoins the battle. Paul dodges the strike by throwing himself backwards, but he then hits the deck.
He is pursued by the Second Trooper.
Jessica: STOP. CUT THE ROPE
Trooper #2 freezes and then proceeds to cut Jessica's bonds on her ankles and then on her wrists.
Jessica: GIVE ME THE KNIFE
He hands the knife to her. Jessica quickly drives the blade into the trooper's brain from beneath his chin and then pulls it back out. He dies instantly.
The First Trooper collapses next to him after bleeding out on his feet. Jessica goes over to Trooper #1 on the floor and slits his throat, killing him instantly. Paul's hands are released when Jessica kneels over him with the knife.
Jessica: Your pitch was too forced.
Unmanned, the ornithopter drops to the ground in the desert.
Jessica and Paul get back up. They are able to see the Shield Wall that protects Arrakeen in the far horizon. Above the wall, explosions flare.
She reaches beneath Yueh's diamond mark. Brings out a little, well-made backpack from the package under the seat.
Jessica unpacks the box. Inside, a small light shines. Paul looks over his findings.
Paul: It's a fremkit.
The ornithopter's communicator suddenly crackles with a harsh voice, a harsh flow of odd phrases.
Paul: They've crippled the ship
They scale the ornithopter and exit.
After ejecting from the ornithopter, Paul and Jessica arrive on a hill, where they are met with a sea of sand and the blazing city of Arrakeen. In the dunes, they are vulnerable and barefoot. They look at the burning city as the wind rises up.
