Authors Note: Paul and Jared, are the same age as Sam in my story at 20 years of age. Bella is still 17 when she moves to Forks, Washington, and the rest of the characters are the same age as they are in the books. It's just Jared, Paul's and Sam's age that's different :)

Disclaimer: Stephenie Meyers owns this lot! I don't own a single thing connected to her world of the Twilight books or films.

Renee had great pleasure in telling her smugly I told you so, when a text came through from her father Chief Charlie Swan, before she went through Airpot security, that something had come up, and he could no longer pick her up. A guy from the La Push res, who worked with her godfather Billy Black would pick her up instead. Her mother tried persuading her to stay and travel with them instead, and so she had a plus one to the parties she attended when Phil couldn't make it, only she was stubborn and determined to put down some roots down, in her last few years of high school, and even maybe make some friends to her own, if she stays in a school long enough. She's tired of being the new girl. Even if her Dad wasn't around, Renee shouldn't be so smug, because she was hardly home either at times. At least she has a ride to Forks at least.

She didn't hang around much longer after that and went through the Airport stuff, and found a McDonald's, not knowing when she'd be able to have her favourite double cheeseburger again, so she got two, large fries, mozzarella bites and chicken nuggets, with a large coke! Hey, she was starving and hadn't eaten all day, only a coffee when she first woke up this morning and it's now one in the afternoon. Her flight is due to leave at two and it's a three hours and fifteen minutes flight to Port Angeles then it's an hour-plus drive to Forks. Yup, she'd done her research on Google, when she got the ok, from Charlie.

It didn't really hit her until they started descending through the thick gloomy layer of clouds down to, the Port Angeles runway. She's actually fucking here! She had dreamed of this moment, since her MOTHER had stopped her visits to Forks, Washington for her own selfish reasons, and after a phone argument with Charlie, they hadn't spoken directly since that day at some point, the year she was eight. She had always loved going to Forks and spending what little time she could with Charlie, and spent most of it down in La Push, playing in rock pools, and running through the forest tree line, and back onto the rugged landscape of First Beach with Billy's girls, Jacob and their friends.

Thankfully everything went smoothly as you go through the usual stuff at an airport, before you get to arrivals. She did have a fear of her suitcase going missing, she only had one and a carry-on. So basically everything she owned could almost fit into one suitcase. When she got there, she had to stop herself from dropping her jaw, when she saw the guy holding a sign with her name on it. He's shirtless, only wearing shorts and trainers, dark-skinned, and broad shoulders, he's basically all muscle and at least six feet tall, if not taller! And he's holding a sign with her name on it. When she approached him, his eyes met hers and gravity seemed to shift, as everything around her faded into nothingness and it was only them, in a busy airport. He seemed to recover first, and slowly approached her, holding out his hand, which she automatically took. She jumped as he spoke, after feeling his hot skin and the warm tingly feeling that shot up her arm, which seemed to brighten his eyes even more.

"Isabella? Bella Swan?" She simply nodded, too stunned to speak for what she had just experienced, and wondered if she imagined it. He chuckled, a deep manly chuckle.

"Yup, you did. I'll explain more but not here," she blinked and snapped out of it, and looked around the airport for a Starbucks or coffee place, she needed something, anything.

"Coffee?" She asked him, nodding to Starbucks. "I need something with caffeine!" He nodded and took hold of her suitcase and carry-on with protests from her, but he wasn't having any of it. With her carry-on over his shoulder and suitcase in one hand, he grabbed hers, and she felt like they'd been doing that for years, it felt so comforting.

They ordered the same black coffee, and she offered to buy food, which seemed to surprise him for a split second before he covered it.

"You get the drinks, I'll get the food if you want to, I'll eat more than you anyway." She felt her eyebrow rise at this, loving the warmth of his skin, which reminded her of Uncle Billy's warm skin his was hotter though, hold on...

"Um, okay. Hold on a sec, you know my name but you haven't said what yours is yet or have you?" She frowned as she tried to remember. His lips are suddenly at her ear.

"Sam, Sam Uley, and yes to the skin question and Billy's. But as I said, not here babe." His voice is so low, that she wouldn't have heard him if she hadn't already been listening. She nodded in understanding, and he squeezed her hand gently in his oversized one, which seemed to fit her tiny hand comfortably.

When it was their turn, Sam took herself and the girl behind the till by surprise and ordered one of everything hot food wise and he asked her to choose dessert things, as they'd be stopping on the way back to Forks. She was surprised but wasn't complaining if she got to spend more time with him... he also chose three drinks, including the black coffee. She found herself not liking the way the girls behind the Starbucks counter kept on eyeing his pure muscular chest, so she did an immature thing and slipped in front of him, and his arms automatically went around her, which made her feel a little better as she placed her arms around his neck. She came to his nipple, in height, so she wasn't too, too small next to him. She also felt him bury his face in her hair.

"Mmm, jealous baby?" He whispered so low, that only she could hear him. She heard something drop behind them.

"Why am I feeling this way? We've only just met." She whispered. "I don't usually get jealous but them eyeing you with me stood right here, was really pissing me off."

"It's all part of the thing babe. I'll tell you more when we stop at a place not far from Forks."

"Mmmhm," she said, loving the heat coming from his skin. She felt him kiss the spot between her neck and shoulder, and it sent a nice tingle through her, and then he lifted his head up, as one of the ladies spoke.

"Your food is ready sir," the lady said, in not such a nice tone, as she turned to see it had now been bagged up and drinks on a take-out tray. She paid for the drinks, after asking for a couple of water bottles as well, and Sam paid for the food, which she carried out and he now had his arm around her shoulders, as he pulled her suitcase out with the other. Her carry-on is still over his shoulder.

The car ride was comfortable, as they sipped their coffees. She's in the middle of the front of the bench-style seat, Sam's hand is always darting back to her thigh whenever he doesn't need to use it for driving, and it feels weird but comforting at the same time. Like she said earlier, like they'd been doing this for years.

The rest of the drinks are on the floor in between her feet and the food bag is next to them on the floor too, so Sam's seats don't get greased. Her phone rang, but she ignored it when a view started to form, as they turned down a dirt track through a mixture of tall evergreen and pine trees, and he didn't stop until they got to a clearing that had a breathtaking view of the ocean and its own sandy beach.

"WOW! This is beautiful, I missed coming to La Push," she said, getting out of the car, as Sam came around, wrapping his arms around her from behind, and kissed the side of her head.

"It's not a very well-known spot, and that's why I like it here. My friends and I put the benches down. It's still got natural beauty and is pretty much untouched other than the few picnic tables we put here. There won't be much privacy once we reach Forks and La Push, babe. But let's get the food out before we start talking." She nodded, so they got all the food out and she found herself between Sam's legs and his long leg over her left one, his arm wrapped tight around her waist, and again it never felt uncomfortable or awkward, she actually found herself melting into him this time, instead of hesitating a little bit. She felt shocked by just how much food they had.

"How are you going to eat all of that? Because you know, I'll be full after maybe three or four things..." The sun is starting to set across the ocean waves, leaving a pretty reflection of pinks and purples, as it settles for the day.

"Mhm, this is just one of me, imagine feeding three of us, babe." Her eyes widened. He was already on toasty number two, she had just finished her first one and started the second. Her phone rang and she answered it this time.

"Hey, Ch-Dad," she said, after glancing at who was calling her, and she felt a little bad she didn't answer it earlier.

"Bella, how is everything going?" He asked.

"Fine, Sam and I got food at Starbucks and have just stopped on the way."

"Oh good. Tell Uley he better take you to Billy's. I'm sorry kiddo but I've been given an undercover job, something I've done a few times, and it's in Chicago. The house is yours if anything should happen to me. I'm glad you are finally free from that bitches clutches."

"Dad, don't say shit like that, and you know I've always wanted to come back, she just gave me the perfect out without realising what she was doing. To wrapped up in her own selfish world," she said feeling a bit panicky.

"It's the truth though kiddo. I've always been on call for undercover stuff. Doesn't happen very often, but this might be my last opportunity before I retire, and I've worked with these people before. Stay safe Bella and always keep a pepper spray on you."

"Okay," She said, not sure what else to say.

"You never know kid. If I don't make it out of this undercover job, at least I know you are protected in some way and have a roof over your head. The underworld is moving again." He sounded annoyed and excited by this revelation at the same time.

"Stay safe, Dad, and I know we don't say it very often but I do love you," silence.

"Love you too kid, and one last thing Bella... don't believe every word you hear from Billy and the tribe unless you have solid evidence of what they say. I value my friendship with Billy, Harry and old Quil. They've been good friends of mine for years, but I just can't understand their hatred for a certain family in Forks. The family have done nothing from what I can see, and Billy's come close to spilling the tea a few times, but never actually given me a good solid reason as to why the entire tribe stopped coming to Forks Hospital, a few years back and Forks in general."

"Weird..." she said, not sure what else to say. She felt the need to defend her godfather.

"Uncle Billy's always very open and talkative over the phone, and when I was younger, so I can't understand why he would just randomly start disliking this family for no reason Dad..." she had felt Sam tense through Charlie's warning of the tribe.

"Me neither, we've had a few fallingouts over it," he said. She could imagine him scratching his head as he said this. He's done it before over the few random Skype calls they'd had throughout the year, and previous ones.

"Anyway Bells, my ride is here, I'm not sure when I'll be able to check in after this."

"Just a text every now and then would be nice so I know you're safe, at least," She whispers.

"Always am, kiddo, always am. Don't let the bitch control you ever again, Bella. You're old enough to tell her to fuck off." He hung up the phone before she could respond and she stared at it in shock and surprise. Sam chuckled and took her phone from her hand and placed it on the table.

"Your mother really must be something!"

"You heard all of that?" She said surprised, getting up to turn around, so she could see him, in the moonlight, he looked hot as hell.

"Yup, every word from Charlie as well. I can hear the forest animals, and the water creatures, from the smallest to the largest. I have a strong sense of smell, and even stronger for both when I shift. I also don't need to turn a light on to see in the dark." He'd pulled her closer to him, so her legs went over him, and she could feel ALL of him.

"WOW! Shift? As in Shapeshifter?" She asks. His eyes twinkled in the moonlight.

"Yes, I'm glad I have a smart mate," he said resting his forehead against hers.

"Mate? Feels and sounds like a supernatural romance story of some kind." He took her by surprise next and kissed her, closing all spaces between them, and she melted into him, drawn to him like moths are too light, and they didn't stop until she needed to breathe, which she felt wasn't fair. She could kiss, snog, whatever him for ages.

"That's because it is one," he whispered, against her swollen lips, capturing them again, and leaning over her, so her back was now against the wood of the bench seat, her fingers tangled deep in his long, soft black hair.

I love a Sam and Bella story, so decided to write one of my own, been a guest on here and browsing on and off, since the Harry Potter fanfics started to grow.

Updates will be every Wednesday.

See you next week.

P.S. I have up to chapter 4 written so far.

I'm also thinking of doing a series with the title starting with: The Alpha's and having Jared and Paul be Alpha's as well.
