"S-Stop it, Kacchan! L-Leave h-him alone!"

"Stupid, shitty Deku! What makes a Quirkless loser like you can tell me what to do?!"

Two five-year-old boys stared each other down as they stood in a park within Shizuoka City. The first one, a small child with fluffy green hair, large green eyes, and freckles was currently standing in front of another child that was on the ground, defending them. The other five-year-old, who was flanked by two flunkies, had spikey blond hair and red eyes that glared at the green child as if said child committed a heinous crime.

"B-But you sh-shouldn't be b-bullying others!" exclaimed the one known as Deku, trying to negotiate. "Th-That's not what heroes do!"

An explosion went off, sending Deku to the ground. Looking up, he saw red eyes that promised even more pain.

"Don't you dare tell me what heroes do, shitty Deku!" yelled out the one known as Kacchan, as he glared hatefully at the green child. "Being a hero is all about how strong you are, but you'll never understand that because you're nothing more than a Quirkless little shit! A useless weakling! People like you and those with weak Quirks need to know their place and that's under my shoes!"

A few more explosions went off as Deku cried out in pain, all the while Kacchan's flunkies were laughing at the "free show". Kacchan soon grew bored with putting Deku in his place, so he decided to leave with his flunkies to find something else to do.

The greenie let out a few groans as he lay on the ground in pain. The other boy who had been a target of the angry blond's bullying stood up and shuffled off to get out of the park, but not before he sent Deku a glare of his own.

"Thanks for nothing, you Quirkless loser," spat the boy as he left, causing the greenie to let out a whimper.

Unbeknownst to anyone, there was a spectator to what had just happened. Hiding behind a nearby tree stood a small, purple-haired girl with what looked like aux jacks hanging from her earlobes. She had watched the entire assault, in both worry and fear. She wanted to go and help the green-haired boy, but was afraid that she would just make things worse. Especially when the mean blond boy mentioned "weak Quirks".

She never liked her Quirk, even though her Kaasan had the same Quirk. The other kids at school always made fun of her, saying she looked weird and questioning what her Quirk could even do. It always made her feel inferior to everyone else.

And yet this green-haired boy didn't even have a Quirk, if what the mean blond boy said was the truth, and still tried to defend the other boy that was being bullied. As far as she knew, he was more of a hero than anyone else she knew.

Gathering up her courage, the purple-haired girl left her hiding spot and made her way over to check on the greenie's condition.

"A-Are you o-okay?" she asked once she reached the boy. She had started to tap her earphone jacks in a shy manner, her insecurities creeping up on her.

The boy let out another whimper as he looked up with sad eyes, although there was a small hint of surprise in them as well. Who was this girl and why was she talking to him when everyone else would rather ignore him?

"I'm…I'm f-fine," stuttered out the boy.

"Y-You don't look f-fine," replied the girl, continuing to look at the boy in worry.

She watched as the boy started to move and pick himself off the ground, only to bristle in panic and rush to catch him when he whimpered once more and almost fell.

"I'm f-fine! R-Really!" exclaimed the greenie, blushing. He still couldn't understand why this girl was being so nice to him.

This only caused the little girl to pout at him before she grabbed his hand and started pulling him away. "Come on. Kaasan can help!"

Still confused, the boy could do nothing but let the girl lead the way.

Jirou Mika hummed to herself as she sat on the park bench; going over some sheet music she had been working on. She had brought her daughter to the park, thinking it would help Kyouka break out of her shell and make some new friends. At least, she hoped that was what she was doing. Kyouka was a shy little thing and it worried Mika that she wouldn't be able to make friends so easily. Luckily, Mika's enhanced hearing allowed her to keep track of her sweetie.

"Kaasan!"

Speaking of which. Mika looked up at her little one's call, only to raise an eyebrow when she saw Kyouka dragging a green-haired boy behind her and from the looks of it, the boy was pretty beat up. Quickly packing up her things, a concerned Mika then stood and made her way over to the children.

"What happened?" asked the mother.

Kyouka quickly squeaked out an explanation to her mother about what she saw, about how the greenie was trying to protect another boy from being bullied, only to get beat up in the process. She even mentioned how the boy the greenie was trying to protect was also mean to him in the end.

"And all because he's Quirkless!" finished Kyouka with a pout, causing the greenie to tense up in fear when Mika frowned.

"Quirkless? Well that's not right," started Mika, shaking her head slightly. "Just because someone is Quirkless doesn't make them any less of a person. Shame on that boy who did this to you."

The greenie's eyes widened upon hearing this before he started to tear up. The only person who has ever been nice to him despite him being Quirkless was his Kaachan, so this was all new to him. "Th-Thank you."

"You're welcome," replied Mika, giving the boy a comforting smile. "Now then, would you be willing to tell me your name?"

She raised an eyebrow in question when the boy suddenly shirked back a little with a slight blush on his face.

"K-Kaachan said to n-never t-talk to strangers," stuttered out the boy, suddenly remembering his mother's words.

This earned him a few giggles from Mika. "Your Kaachan is very smart, but seeing that you are friends with my little Kyouka, it's only fair that I know your name."

"F-Friends?" questioned the boy in confusion. He then turned to meet the little girl that had helped him, only to find that she was still holding his hand. Upon noticing this, both children quickly turned away from each other with blush, causing Mika to let out more giggles. The greenie fidgeted a bit before he answered. "M-My n-name is M-Midoriya I-Izuku."

"Pleased to meet you, Izuku-kun," said Mika with a smile that calmed Izuku. "Now why don't we get you patched up and then we can call your Kaachan about this."

Izuku nodded as Mika led him and Kyouka out of the park and to the Jirou residence.

Kyoutoku was highly confused. He had just gotten home after running some quick errands to find his little girl playing with another child, more importantly a BOY, who had bandages wrapped around his arms, legs, and face. Seeking out his wife for answers, he found her in the kitchen talking to someone on the phone.

"Of course, Midoriya-san. See you soon!"

"Mika, who is that boy with Kyouka?" asked the blond as his wife hung up the phone.

"That's Midoriya Izuku. He's Kyouka's new friend!" chirped Mika with a beaming smile.

"…But he's a boy."

"I can see that, Kyoutoku. He's also five-years-old," added the spectacled woman, knowing how protective her husband was of their daughter.

"That's how it starts!"

Mika just rolled her eyes at her husband's behavior. "Oh shush. What's important right now is that Kyouka has made a friend! Don't you want Kyouka to have friends?"

"I'd rather they be girls," mumbled out Kyoutoku with a slight pout. He glanced back to where the children were playing before looking back at his wife. "Why's he covered in bandages?"

He raised an eyebrow when Mika gave off a frown.

"From what Kyouka told me, Izuku-kun was beat up at the park after he tried to protect another child from a bully," explained Mika.

Kyoutoku let out a low whistle. "Seriously? Impressive, considering the kid doesn't look like he could hold his own to begin with."

Mika's frown turned into a slight scowl. "Unfortunately, the REAL reason the bully attacked Izuku-kun is because Izuku-kun is Quirkless."

Upon hearing this, Kyoutoku let out a huff. "I will never understand how Quirkism can be a thing. It's not the Quirk that makes a person who they are."

Mika's smile returned as she stood on her tiptoes to give her husband a kiss. "I think Izuku-kun would like to hear that. Why don't you go get to know him since he IS Kyouka's new friend, after all?"

"Do I have to?" asked Kyoutoku with a slight whine, although Mika could tell it was fake.

"Yes you do, especially since his mother will be here soon to pick him up."

Not arguing with his wife, Kyoutoku headed into the living room where his daughter and her new friend were playing with a toy xylophone.

"Hey, kids," he greeted, catching the little ones' attention.

"Otousan!" squeaked out Kyouka as she hopped up and hugged her father's leg. She then gave him a beaming smile. "I made a friend today!"

This caused the blond to let out a chuckle. "I can see that."

"…Don't be mean to him," added Kyouka, giving her father a pouty glare.

"What makes you think I would be?" asked Kyoutoku in confusion.

"Kaasan said you would try to scare Izuku-kun," replied the purplette as she went to sit back down next to a now fearful Izuku.

Kyoutoku turned to cast a glare towards the kitchen, only to be met by the teasing smirk of his wife. Turning back to the children, he sat himself on the floor so he could talk to the greenie.

"So, Midoriya-kun, I heard you protected a kid from a bully today. Pretty impressive."

Izuku just looked down in disappointment. "I didn't really help anyone. Kacchan hit me because I'm Quirkless."

"So? If anything, it's more impressive that you stood up to a bully even though you're Quirkless. Shows that no matter what that you're a good person and the world will always need good people."

The greenie stared at the man in awe. This was the third time today that someone didn't care that he was Quirkless and it was still a shock to the little fluffy-haired boy. It was because of this that he asked the one question he wanted an answer for.

"D-Do you think I can b-be a h-hero, even th-though I'm Quirkless?"

Kyoutoku wasn't sure how to answer that, since he didn't want to hurt the kid's feelings. While he didn't have a problem with the Quirkless, he knew realistically that they couldn't be heroes. Being a hero was a dangerous profession with even experienced heroes sometimes getting put into the hospital by villains, so what chances would a Quirkless hero have? Before Kyoutoku could say anything though, his daughter spoke up.

"I think you could be a hero, Izuku-kun!" squeaked out the shy little musician, looking at the boy in awe. "You protected that one boy from the mean blond boy, just like a real hero would!"

Hearing the words he's always wanted to hear, Izuku couldn't hold the tears in anymore. Seeing her new friend crying, Kyouka immediately gave Izuku a hug in hopes that she could make him feel better.

Seeing the hug, it took all of Kyoutoku's self-control to not snatch his daughter away and keep her away from the boy. Overprotective of his daughter he may be, but Kyoutoku could see that Midoriya needed this hug and wouldn't dare stop it.

It was at this moment that a knock sounded at the door.

"Oh! That must be Midoriya-san," stated Mika as she made her way over to answer it.

Opening the door, Mika was greeted by a green-haired, slightly chubby woman who looked to be her height. Upon seeing the woman, Izuku perked up.

"Kaachan!" exclaimed the small greenie as he ran over to his mother.

Seeing her child wrapped in bandages, Inko's worry grew as she scooped him into her arms and hugged him close. "Izuku! What happened?!"

The boy fidgeted a little. Despite what Kacchan did to him, he didn't want to tell his Kaachan about it since he knew that she and Mitsuki-obachan were friends and he didn't want Kaachan to be mad at Obachan. Unfortunately for him, his new friend wanted to help.

"A mean blond boy with boom hands beat him up!" exclaimed Kyouka as she came over. She then turned to her Kaasan, raising her arms, wanting to be picked up. Once she was in Mika's arms, the little purplette told about what she saw at the park, including how Izuku tried to protect another boy from the bully.

After hearing all of this, Inko tensed slightly before turning to look at her baby boy.

"Izuku, did Katsuki do this to you?" she asked. Inko had thought Izuku and Katsuki were friends, but this was the only thing that made sense as to why Izuku always came home injured. When Izuku hesitantly nodded, Inko teared up slightly and held her baby in a tight embrace. "Why didn't you tell me about this, baby?"

"I d-didn't want you to be m-mad at M-Mitsuki-obachan," stuttered out Izuku as he hugged his mom back.

"Baby, you know Mitsuki wouldn't have allowed Katsuki to do this," replied Inko with a frown. "I'm going to have a talk with her when we get home. She needs to know about this, Izuku."

"But Kacchan will be mad!" squeaked the little greenie, afraid that his former friend will be even worse to him.

"Mitsuki and I won't let Katsuki do anything to you ever again, Izuku. I promise," said Inko, giving her child another comforting hug. She would protect her baby. Inko then turned to Mika. "Thank you for helping Izuku."

Mika just gave off a smile. "The thanks should go to Kyouka. She was the one who helped him first."

"Can Izuku-kun come over and play tomorrow?" blurted out Kyouka with a squeak. "Please?"

"Can I, Kaachan?! Jirou-chan is my new friend now!" chirped the little greenie, happy that he had a friend who wouldn't hurt him.

Hearing that he baby had a friend and one that didn't care that he was Quirkless, Inko felt tears of happiness come to her eyes, although it took everything not to flood the Jirou's' home. "As long as it's okay with Jirou-san, Izuku."

"Of course it would be okay!" replied Mika with a smile, wanting to keep this new friendship between the children solid. "Izuku-kun is more than welcome over here anytime!"

As the mothers discussed and set up future play dates for their little ones, said little ones looked at each other in happiness, unable to wait until tomorrow to see each other again.
