Taka: We decided to go to the Digital World to try and find out more about Mistymon, joining us were Ken and Wormmon. When we got there, we met Sid and Panmon. They were actually attacking innocent digimon as a way to try and get stronger. Mistymon sent Snimon after us, but Shadowmon made quick work of him. Sid claims that even though he's a digidestined like us, he has no interest in helping the Digital World. It seems like he only cares about himself. Haru also noticed he had the same digivice we have. Why does that jerk have one?

"My Babysitter's Picnic"

"Kari, are you ready to go?" A white cat asked as she was waiting for her partner. "Today's the weekend, so let's try and enjoy it."

"I know, Gatomon. I'm coming." Kari said. Kari Kamiya, probably one of the most caring and compassion woman there is. You won't find anyone who's heart goes out for digimon more than her. "Let's go. I have a feeling today is going to be a good day."

...

Mary

"Here you go, Mary." Her mother said as she finished packing a basket and handed it over to her. "What's all this food for?"

"I told you. My friends and I decided to have a picnic today." Mary said. "Thanks for this, Mom." She was ready to go until she realized she was missing someone. "Oops. I almost forgot." She said as she hurried back to her room and got Kudamon around her neck. "Can't go anywhere without my new scarf."

"It looks nice, but I wish they didn't put that weasel face on the end. Have fun, Mary." Her mother said with Mary on her way out and waited until she was out of the apartment for it be safe for Kudamon.

"A weasel?" Kudamon said as he felt insulted.

"Sorry, but you know my parents aren't fond of digimon." Mary said. "If they find out about you...I don't know what they do."

"I know, and I'm sorry for making you lie to your parents." Kudamon said. "Let's just go and meet with the others." Mary agreed with that with the two of them hurrying off.

...

Ben

Ben had everything for his picnic as well, but he needed to get Swallowmon away from his little sister. That's going to be tough to do since she keeps dancing around with him and thinking he was a stuffed animal.

"Woo. I need a drink." Sally said as she got tired and just dropped Swallowmon with her running off. Ben took the chance as he grabbed Swallowmon and hurried as fast he could to get them out of there.

...

Amanda

"Ooh. I don't know what some of this stuff is, but it looks good." Labramon said as he sniffed around like any dog would at what Amanda was bringing to the picnic as well.

"Down, boy. They're not for you." Amanda claimed. "At least not all of it is." She said as she got him in his leash and the two of them got going. It would seem even she got talked into doing this.

...

The Ramen Shop

"Here you guys go." Davis said as he handed some food he could spare to Haru as he and Taka were waiting for the others just outside the ramen shop. "I hope you guys enjoy your little picnic."

"Thanks for hooking us up with this stuff, Davis." Haru said.

"Haru, are you sure he needed to do this?" Taka asked. "I thought we were all going to bring something from home."

"What? And miss out on having the best noodles in the world?" Haru said with a little teasing towards Davis.

"Hey. Here come the others. I sure hope they all brought some delicious food." Dorumon said as the others came over and was joining them for their departure.

"Hey. Everyone ready to go?" Mary said.

"Sure are. You guys are going to love having a picnic in the Digital World." Davis said. "Still, are you sure you okay with this? You know once Mistymon finds out you're there, you're going to have to answer to him and you're relaxing picnic is going to be ruined."

"We know, but that shouldn't stop us from having some fun." Taka said. "You and your buddies said we should go to the Digital World just for fun and not just for a mission. So, let's go have some fun."

"It would be nice not to try and fight, and just enjoy ourselves." Ponymon said.

"So what are we waiting for? We're all here, so let's get going." Dorumon said as they all seemed ready to go.

"What's going on here?" By sheer chance, all of them looked and saw none other than Kari and Gatomon standing right there and staring at them with some curiosity with most of them wondering who she even was.

"Kari!" Davis and Mary said, but they were both surprised that the other seems to know her.

"You know her?" Davis questioned.

"Davis, who is she?" Haru asked.

"Davis, are these the new digidestined you were telling us about?" Kari said.

"Yeah, this is them, but I had no idea you already knew one of them." Davis said.

"It's nice to meet all of you." Kari said. "Davis told me a little about you guys, and I'm glad I finally get to meet all of you. What I didn't know was that you were one, Mary. Look at how big you've gotten."

"She's right. You look great." Gatomon said with Mary feeling flattered.

"It's great to see you both." Mary said.

"Mary, how do you know her? Who is she?" Haru asked.

"Everyone, this is Kari Kamiya. Kari used to live in the same building as me. She even babysat me when I was a little kid." Mary admitted. This was a surprise. One of the new generation knows about the old generation. Not even Davis knew about that. "This cat is also Kari's digimon partner, Gatomon. I thought Gatomon was just a normal cat, but I was amazed when I found out Gatomon was actually a digimon."

"And I take it this one here is your digimon partner." Kari said as she noticed Kudamon and petted his head.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Kudamon."

"Guys, Kari is an old friend of mine. She's probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She was part of the team just like Cody, T.K., and Ken." Davis said. "The truth is that she's been a digidestined longer than any of us have."

"This is actually perfect." Mary said. "Kari, we were all planning to have a picnic in the Digital World. Since I haven't seen you for a long time, and you're here, how about you come and join us? It would be great if you could tag along."

"Really? That would be great. What do you say, Gatomon?" Kari asked.

"Sure. It does sound like it could be fun, and we haven't been in the Digital World for a long time." Gatomon said.

"Darn. Now I really wish I could have gone." Davis said.

"Do we even have enough food for everyone?" Ben questioned.

"I'm sure we can work something out. Let's just go." Haru said with the others agreeing with that. Now that Kari and Gatomon are tagging along, this could be great. Especially for Mary since it seems like the two of them were real close.

"Have fun." Davis said as he saw them off with a portal opening up and they arrived in the Digital World within seconds.

...

The Digital World

"Here we are." Taka said as they stepped into the Digital World with Kari and Gatomon loving that they were back in the Digital World.

"Wow. So this is what T.K. was talking about. Sure wish we had this back when we were kids." Kari said. "It would have made things a lot easier."

"Come on. Let's go find a good spot." Ben said as they all started to hike through the forest to find a good spot, but their lovely picnic might turn into a nightmare. There was something else in that forest that was eyeing them like a predator stalking their prey. As they were walking through the forest, they were filling Kari in on what's been going on so far.

"Mistymon?" Kari said.

"Yeah. He's got a problem with humans coming to the Digital World, so if he knows we're here, we might be in trouble." Taka said.

"Gatomon, have you ever heard of him?" Mary asked.

"I'm afraid not." Gatomon said. "From what you've told us about this Sid as well, it sounds like he's got every right to be upset with humans. With all of that in mind, why come to the Digital World for a picnic?"

"Well, we have every right to come here if we want, so we figured to try and have some fun with it." Haru said. "We're not going to let someone like Mistymon or that Sid ruin our time here."

"This looks like a good spot, and I'm hungry. Let's eat!" Dorumon said as he was eager to get some food in his stomach. Thinking it was good enough, they all set up their little picnic for them to have. Once everything was set, everyone was enjoying themselves and having a nice time.

"You know what, I take back what I said, Haru." Taka said as he ate some of the food Davis gave him. "Davis really knows how to make good noodles. You were smart to bring this along."

"I'm sure he'll appreciate that. He says he wants to make the best noodles in the world." Kari said with a laugh.

"Amanda, what are you doing over there?" Labramon said as Amanda cut herself off from the others. "Come over here and join the rest of us."

"No thanks. I didn't really want to go on a stupid picnic in the first place." Amanda said as she tried to keep acting like she didn't care.

"You say that and yet you still came." Labramon said. "I think you like it more than you care to admit." He said with her getting annoyed.

"What about you, Kudamon? What will you have?" Mary asked.

"I'm not really sure. Everything looks rather good." Kudamon said being a little indecisive.

"Here! You've got to try this rice ball!" Dorumon said as he had one for him and threw it right at Kudamon.

"No! You're not suppose to throw food!" Gatomon said, and she was right. The rice ball ended up passing over Kudamon and started to roll away.

"I'll get it!" Kudamon said as he chased after it.

"Wait, Kudamon! You shouldn't eat it now! Plus, we've got plenty!" Mary called as she chased after him.

"Nice, Dorumon. Don't you know you never waste a good rice ball like that?" Ponymon said.

"I'll be right back. I don't like that they're going off on their own like this." Kari said as she went after them with Gatomon following. "Mary! Kudamon! Where are you?!" She called as she searched around for them, but their was no sign of them. It was like the two of them just vanished. "I don't like this."

"I'm sure they're fine. You're not Mary's babysitter anymore, so you don't need to worry." Gatomon said. "Besides, Kudamon is with her. He's not going to let anything happen to her."

"I know, but I'm still worried that something might have..." Suddenly, Kari stepped to close to a steep slope and lost her footing with her sliding down and Gatomon chased after her. This picnic started out like a good idea, but now it's starting to quickly go wrong.

...

Kari

"Kari? Kari, can you hear me?" Kari began to woke up and saw that Mary was right over her. "Oh good. You're starting to wake up. That looked like one nasty slide."

"Mary? What happened?" Kari said as she sat up and saw she was with her and the digimon in a different forest. "What's going on? How did you get here?"

"While I was chasing that riceball, something came out of nowhere and attacked us." Kudamon said as he remembered something just flew over them with incredible speed. "I couldn't quite see what was attacking us, but we had to retreat."

"We just kept running until we found ourselves here and soon found you." Mary said.

"We should hurry back to the others. They might get worried about us if we're gone for so long." Gatomon said. All of them thought that was a good idea, but that's going to have to wait. Suddenly, they heard a shrieking sound with something flying right over them. Whatever attacked Kudamon and Mary earlier isn't done yet. They followed what was flying right over them until it landed down on a tree with it being a cross between a bird and a dragon.

"No one is going anywhere!"

"Who is that digimon?! I've never seen one like that one before!" Kari said.

Digimon Analyzer (Kudamon): That would be Galemon. He can be as fierce as the wind. Beware his Hurricane Slicer. It makes gale-force winds seem like a gentle breeze.

"By order of Mistymon, I am here to eliminate you humans. You think you can come into our world like it is your own, but you can't as long as I'm here." Galemon said.

"Did he say he's working for Mistymon?!" Mary said.

"Not good. This is exactly what we were hoping to avoid." Kudamon said, but now it looks like they might have to fight.

"Galemon, wait! You got the wrong idea! We didn't come here to cause any trouble!" Kari said as she tried to reason with him, but it seemed like Galemon wasn't going to listen as he flew up in the air and was getting ready to attack.

"Hurricane Slicer!" Galemon unleashed a razor-sharp wind right at them. They all ducked out of the way and avoided the attack, and then Gatomon charged right at Galemon.

"Lightning Paw!" Gatomon jumped right at Galemon and smashed her paw right against him with him being knocked through some trees.

"Wow. Gatomon packs a bigger punch than I thought." Mary said as she was amazed Gatomon could do something like that.

"Come one. We need to go." Kari said as she grabbed a hold of Gatomon and ran off with Mary following. Of course, Galemon isn't going to let them escape so easily.

"Why are we running?" Kudamon questioned. "If Gatomon and I combine our powers, we can take Galemon."

"We can't fight Galemon. Galemon believes we're the enemies." Kari said. "He thinks we're the ones here to cause some trouble. If that's how it is, we can't fight, but instead try to reason with him."

"I'm afraid that it might not be that simple." Kudamon said. "Mistymon is convicted in his cause. If Galemon shares that same conviction, he won't listen. Galemon won't let us go so easily."

"Kudamon might be right. If Galemon attacks, we need to at least defend ourselves." Gatomon said, but Kari didn't really like the idea that they had to fight when Galemon is just doing what he thinks is right.

'That's Kari for you. She always seemed compassionate and caring for others.' Mary thought as she always admired Kari for that. Remembering back to when Kari was just her babysitter, she remembered how much fun they had together and how she always put Mary first. Even when she was introduced to Gatomon as an actual digimon, Kari was careful and considerate to how she Mary was afraid. That's why she knows Kari so well. She doesn't want to hurt anyone, but they might not have a choice. Just then, they heard Galemon chasing after them and he seemed mad.

"We won't be able to outrun him on foot!" Gatomon said.

"We won't have to. Mary, I think it's time." Kudamon said.

"Right." Mary said as she grabbed her digivice.

"Kudamon digivolve to...Reppamon!"

"Quick, climb on!" Reppamon said. All three of them climbed on Reppamon and he started running as fast as he could.

"There's no escape from me!" Galemon said as he chased after them. Reppamon ran with great speed and was pulling out ahead of Galemon, but Galemon was still on their tail.

"Kari, I know you don't want to fight, but we need to do something." Mary said as they've got to lose Galemon or else Galemon might tear them to shreds. She looked around and saw something that could help. "Reppamon, up ahead!" Reppamon followed her directions and dived inside a set of thick trees.

"You think you can hide from me in there?!" Galemon said as he chased after them, but he ended up getting his wings tangled in the branches.

"Spinning Tackle!" Reppamon came back at him as he spun around and smashed himself against Galemon in a fierce attack that knocked him down and it looks like he was down for the count now. Once they saw Galemon go down, the girls hurried out and saw what was done.

"That should be enough. At least now he'll have to listen." Mary said. "Maybe you can talk to him now and try to reason with him." Kari certainly liked the sound of that as she moved over to Galemon. However, Galemon still had a strong fighting spirit.

"Calm down, Galemon. I just want to talk." Kari said as she tried to show she was trying to be peaceful. "We didn't come here to cause trouble. In fact, I'm hoping for a future where humans and digimon can live together without someone trying to ruin it. I swear, we don't want to cause any trouble. We don't have to be your enemies. Just give us a chance and we can be friends."

"Never!" Galemon shouted as he got back up and was going to unleash his fury on Kari.

"Kari!" Mary shouted as she and Gatomon were scared on what might happen to her. Galemon was actually going to attack him, but he didn't get the chance. Reppamon attacked Galemon with his bladed tail and he completely burst into data.

"You destroyed him..." Kari said as she was shocked to see that. "He was just fighting for what he believed in. He wasn't evil, but you..." This was what Kari was hoping to avoid. She never really did like seeing digimon be destroyed like that and hoped there was another way.

"You have to understand that I had to." Reppamon said. "If I hadn't, he would have hurt you...or worst."

"Kari, I know it was hard, but he's right." Gatomon said with Mary feeling so bad for Kari. "Yes, digimon are alive like you humans, but we have to do what we must or else someone is going to get hurt." Mary never thought of it like that, but it does make sense.

"Try not to worry too much about it." Reppamon comforted. "He might come back one day."

"What do you mean, Reppamon?" Mary questioned.

"Digimon don't really die. There are times where our data gets reconfigured and we are reborn." Reppamon said. "Take comfort knowing that will happen one day." Kari understood that, and she does. She just wishes it didn't have to come to that.

"Hey! There you are!" Taka said as they showed where the others are were able to find them.

"You all okay!" Haru asked.

"Yeah! We're good!" Mary said as she really did hope Kari was, but she will be. In fact, Kari is quite pleased with what Mary has done today.

...

The Real World

"I'm sorry, Kari." Mary said. After their picnic was over, they returned to the real world with Mary feeling bad. She wanted Kari to have a good time, but it looks like she got the opposite. "I guess things didn't go how we expected. I wanted you to come along and have a good time, but it looks like things went a little downhill."

"Don't be sorry, Mary." Kari said. "I still had a great time."

"Yeah, and I have to say that you've really grown." Gatomon said.

"Well, I actually had a great role-model." Mary said. "I always looked up to you and admired you, Kari. You were always such a caring person. In fact it was form meeting you and Gatomon that I found the digimon interesting. That's why I want to believe what you believe. I want to believe a time will come where humans and digimon can live together." Kari was pleased and flattered that Mary thinks that way about her. The others liked that way of thinking as well.

"Thanks, Mary." Kari said. "In fact, it sounds like you already are handling things better than I did. That's why I'm sure you and your friends will prove to this Mistymon that he's wrong about humans." Kari certainly was proud of Mary. She's handling things rather well and trusts that Mary and her friends have everything under control. It ended up being a good day after all.
