Ch2. An internship in hell isn't the worst.
"Good now that I have your attention. WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU PEOPLE!" exclaimed Blitzo to the three teens that were tied to chairs at the moment. They all looked at the imp with fear and a bit of confusion.
"Who are you? Where are we and why are we tied up in chairs?" Danny asked the imp to try to figure out what was going on but the imp backhanded slapped and got closer to him.
"Hey brat I am asking the questions here and you are going to answer them. Now tell me why an imp like you would think bringing two LIVING humans with you to hell. I mean what kind of reeeally can't say that one anymore, dumbass are you?" Blitz interrogated Danny.
"What are you talking about I am not an imp. Can you not see I am human." Danny confusedly replied.
Danny looked down at his tied-up arms to point out that he was human but when he saw his hands it did not look like it had before. The skin color changed to red with some white spots instead of his normal caucasian color. Danny also had this new feeling around his backside so he made a glance at a tail. So he had a tail now great and why was it slowly getting hotter?
"Well, you are not really convincing anyone of that bullshit lie of you being human. Now start giving me actual answers or the room is going to be painted fucking red real soon." Blitzo threatens the teens as he starts to get annoyed.
"Ok, we will tell you everything just don't hurt my friends. " Danny pleads as his friends were nodding.
Danny told Blitzo from the time he agreed to show his friends his parent's Ghost portal to when he fell unconscious and then ended up here. Both Sam and Tucker spoke their part of the story which included where they thought their friend had just died in front of them to finding the portal that was on the floor and going through it together to find Danny. By the time they were finished Danny started to sweat.
"So to be clear you went inside a machine that could create a portal that can access Purgatory just for a cool photo. Then you think you got infused with a mix of energy as you were getting electrocuted because you tripped on wires and fell into a portal that goes to hell in which your friends also go through that same portal to find you? That is so stupid, that doesn't even really explain how you are not a sinner but instead hellborn! Because I'm pretty sure suicide is a sin!" Blitzo exclaimed.
"Well um, sir from what I have heard of Purgatory it has a very reactive substance called ectoplasm. So maybe when the ectoplasm reacted to the residual hell energy from the portal while Danny here was absorbing the ectoplasm it mutated him into an imp." Moxxie reasoned to his boss.
"That does make some sense to me at least from all the talk my parents do about researching ectoplasm. But how can I change back because I really don't want to stay like this? Hey, can someone please turn on the AC? I feel like I'm getting a heatstroke." Danny asked but he felt like he was being burned alive.
When Danny felt like he was going to pass out because of the heat, he combusted into green flames. The flames were so hot it burned through all of the rope that had tied him down to the chair and the chair itself. When one of the embers sputtered out to land on one of the female imp's arms and gave her a slight burn. When the flames died out Danny had turned back to being human and started to feel better.
"Fuck that stings like hellfire. On the bright side, you don't have to worry about changing back. Honey could you get me somethin for the burn?" Millie asked her husband. The imp walked out of the room at a quick pace.
"So what is going to happen to us now?" Tucker wondered aloud.
"Well, first I need to know that you three won't go talk about this to anyone. Second, is paying damages for the break room." Biltzo said.
"What about getting us home back at Amity Park?" Sam asked Blitzo.
"As I said I need reassurance that you won't snitch at the first chance you get." Blitzo annoyedly told Sam.
"How do we do that?" Tucker asked Blitzo.
As Blitzo was thinking of something Moxxie came back to the room with a type of cream to help with the burns and apply it to his wife. Danny went over to his friends to untie them from the chairs. When Sam and Tucker were freed Blizo came up with an idea for new hires.
"So seeing as how we are your only way back home. So let's make a deal. So in exchange for getting you home, you three will Intern at my company and not say a word about what happened here. If you impress me enough I'll even put you on payroll." Blitzo propositioned to the teens.
The teens huddled together discussing the pros and cons as well as the potential dangers. Sam was really not wanting to make a deal with an actual demon but Tucker and Danny eventually both agreed that they didn't have any better choice. With two against one, they were begrudgingly going to take the deal, and Danny broke from the group to accept the deal.
"There are no extra strings attached right? No fine print in a contract that's a big deal?" Danny questions Blitzo.
"If it is your souls or something like that you are worried about I could not give two shits about it." Blitzo answered Danny.
Danny looked back to his friends and then back to Blitzo. While still a bit unsure Danny accepts the offer with a handshake. With said handshake glowed acid green briefly which did not reassure him of his decision to accept but what real choice was there.
"What will we be doing here as interns anyway?" Tucker asked his new boss.
"Danny here is going to do recreational work with MnM and Me when we get a new client. The rest of the time for you three will be office work. But before that happens the three of you will go through the MnM bootcamp first. I'm not going on the job only for it to get fucked by someone with no experience." Blitzo explained.
"What is the boot camp for?" Tucker asked.
"It will be for learning self-defense and for the best ways to kill people on Earth. It also gives us a chance to test Danny's pyrokinesis of hell fire." Millie responds to Tucker.
"Wait, your company just kills people for profit that's horrible." Sam was appalled at Blitzo.
"Hey, I will have you know that it is a great business." Blitzo replied back at Sam.
"If it helps clear your conscience even a bit. Most of the hits we receive from our clients are revenge kills for a proportional responsibility for their deaths or were most likely already going to hell when they died so we expedited that process." Moxxie explains to Sam.
"Uh kinda? But that still does not mean I agree with or like it." Sam said as she crossed her arms.
Blitzo decided that they were working on a cover story now. So when the teens returned to earth they would not have contradictions between each other and slip up and ruin the lie or have to come up with a lie in the moment that will bite them back in the ass. The cover story that they decided to go with was that they got jobs in pest control on the far side of Elmerton where the reception is bad. That will explain where they were and why no one could contact anyone at that time. If someone asks about the company like the name they answer ' Insect. Menace. Preventers LLC.' or 'I.M.P LLC.' for short or why no one heard of them they answered it was a recent startup.
"So you kids memorized the story, right? It takes one fuck up for everyone to get screwed over." Blitzo questioned his newest hires.
"Yes sir. We have it memorized." Danny answered Blitzo.
"Alright the portal will be sending you to the end of the alleyway so no one sees you." Blitzo told the teens as he opened the portal to an alleyway.
"Come on guys let's go already we made our parents worry enough and I don't want to know are mine are doing." Sam told her friends and was the first to go into the portal.
Danny and Tucker follow Sam's lead to go through the portal as the three of them are on the other side of the portal closed. After the portal closed Moxxie turned to look at Blitzo and spoke his mind.
"Sir, are you sure this is a good idea because we could get in more trouble than we are now if we get caught?" Moxxie asked Blitzo.
"Of fucking course not Moxxie but having humans working for us is going to make it at least a bit easier for knowing more about what the human world is like so there are fewer fuck ups that happen. If they try to backstab us then we will kill them before Stollas can find out about this." Blitzo answered.
Danny, Sam, and Tucker are now back on Earth from Hell. They are now getting confused, worried, and angry text messages from their parents about how much trouble they are in for just disappearing to who knows where to worry them. The group decided to stay together to drop off at each other's homes one by one if something else happened to them tonight. They stopped at Sam's place first.
"At least my parents didn't call an investigator to find me this time." Sam commented then sighed and waved to her friends before going inside to face the music.
The boys continued their way to Tucker's home. When they arrived at Tucker's house they could see both of Tucker's parent were at the front door waiting for him to come home with angry looks on their faces. Mr. Foley spoke with authority to Tucker to tell his parents about what had happened inside the house and that he was grounded from his tech devices for personal use for a month. After the father and son went inside Mrs. Foley told Danny to be safe going back home before joining her husband and son inside.
Luckily Tucker's home was not that far off from Danny's home. When Danny got to the door he thought about this conversation with his parents and dreaded it but he opened the door to get it over with. In the living room Danny's parents were sitting on the couch and they looked very disappointed.
"What do you have to say for your self young man?" Maddie spoke disappointedly to her son.
"Well, you see I have a very reasonable explanation for that. " Danny told his parents.
"If you have one then give us one Danny." Jack demanded from Danny.
"I wanted it to be a surprise, but I got a job. " Danny technically told the truth to his parents.
"What kind of job is it?" Jack asked Danny.
"It is in pest control." Danny lied to his parents.
"Where is your new job located?" Maddie asked Danny.
"It's on the far side of Elmerton. That is one of the reasons why I could not call or text you because of the terrible reception there." Danny lied again to his parents.
"What is the company called?" Jack asked Danny.
" 'Insect. Menace. Preventers LLC.'." Danny kept lying to his parents.
"How come we never heard of them until now?" Maddie asked Danny.
"They just started up and have not gotten their name around yet. The owner thought he had enough employees but was understaffed so he took a chance with me and hired me while including my friends too." Danny partially lied to his parents.
"Well, I'm glad you are trying to be more responsible for your age but do not scare us like that Danny you had us worried about you. " Maddie told her son.
"OK, Mom and I'm sorry about making both of you worry about me." Danny said apologetically.
"Danny it is a parent's job to worry about their kid. You are still going be grounded when you are not at school or work for two weeks though." Jack informed Danny.
"Dang It." Danny remarked.
After Danny's discussion with his parents, he went to his room. There he read the book Mr. Lancer told him to go over before taking a test over it on Monday. Danny gave up doing that fifteen minutes in and lay on his bed. Danny was thinking about his life up until now and how weird it was.
"Why did my life have to get so much weirder now." Danny talked to himself before going to sleep.
Author's Notes
I decided to give Danny fire powers or to be specific, control over Hellfire which can even hurt and kill lower demons with the bonus of injuring demon royalty(not sure on that last part but I figured that it could do harm but not kill). I thought it would go well since regular Imps can control fire instead of ice and it will make Danny fight more aggressively not as defensively. Danny only has pyrokinesis for now but will rack up a few more later on. You gotta build them up ya know. The Ghost Zone is going to be called Purgatory by all the beings of the afterlife because the Ghost Zone existed long before Jack Fenton named it that. The next chapter is going to be a more original chapter where Team Phantom training to actually know how to fight and only a little bit of murder if desperate enough. This is for Sam and Tucker to be in the fights while not being helpless sidekicks ghost helpers 1# and 2#. Mostly because I like both Sam and Tucker as characters. Wished that they could have done more. By frequent updates, I really meant a regular update schedule. Hope you like it.
