Chapter 90
"You cheating bastard, why won't you love me?" She proclaims in a heartfelt exclamation at his uncaring back. "I gave you my heart. How can you betray me like this?" Ryoko calls out to him. "I was so scared and alone last night without you. I need you to come back to me. I love you." She hovers about with her arms open to welcome him back to her. "I hope that whore chokes on your dick. You won't even look at me any-more. She's twisting you into something cruel. It hurts to see you being manipulated and fooled by her." Her golden eyes are narrow with an evil glint, mischief curls her mouth into a smile. "You said I was beautiful. You gave me hope, you gave me a future. My life is nothing without you. Can I not have just one final kiss from you?"
"Ryoko. Are you going to annoy me like this all day? I haven't even set off with Ayeka yet..." Vegeta is doing his best to ignore her.
The Saiyan trains. Ryoko floats around inside his training room keeping her body non-corporeal and safe. Vegeta's storm of ki no longer endangers her like this, Kaia is an effective limiter to him. The Juraian has not appeared yet but if he were to suddenly be Super Saiyan 3 beside her then quite the political incident would occur between Jurai and himself. His hair is black. She is having fun teasing him and provoking him and annoying him mercilessly for this great betrayal of his date with Ayeka.
A little over 2 hours of sleep is all Vegeta managed. This worked well for Ryoko. Rather than having to rely on his kid for her night light she instead has managed to use the wide awake Vegeta. There is little light from his body, the room is lit and as long as there is some light the source matters little to her. She wakes, she visits him then goes back with her own balls of ki to light her bed. Ayeka never stipulated visiting him like this. Neither are asleep in the same room as the other. The princess will be loath to find out how she wormed her way into having a somewhat sleepless night with Vegeta.
"Good, there's still time. Time to choose, to change your mind. Oh my beloved, my darling prince, love me. Turn away from that harlot and embrace me like you used to. She's just a disease ridden nymph lusting for her brother's cock." Her veil of eloquence swiftly dissolves when she runs out of insults. Ryoko is having fun with this, snickering all the while.
She floats around in front of him and he turns about to keep his back to her. He has expressly told her to leave. Though he stopped telling her that a few hours ago since she will not listen and he cannot force her to move. Vegeta trains and she watches. Lounging in the air in her blue and yellow stripped dress she enjoys the display of his physique.
"I think I'll use my previous challenge for this. Draw my blood and I shall accept your offer. Come now Ryoko, show me the power of your emotions." Vegeta barks through exerted breaths.
"Eh, fuck that." Ryoko scoffs.
Two blasts explode off of Vegeta's shoulder. Ryoko did not surprise him, nor manage to draw any blood with her half-hearted attack. She cannot wound him to that degree, not unless he trains for a lot longer and weakens himself. Every several seconds she fires another blast at him. She giggles to herself. His concentration will not be broken by her efforts. He wishes that Kaia would awake soon so that she can take the attention of Ryoko from himself. Vegeta has an evil thought of his own. Ryoko readies a blast and lazily holds her arm out aiming it. Purple envelops all around her. A shield contains her. She dissipates the blast quickly and motions for escape, the shield vanishes. Ryoko charges another blast and the same happens. She growls at him. This is an effective muzzle.
Washu finishes explaining to the two Juraians. She crosses her legs on her floating cushion and yawns. On a monitor with a silhouette of Kaia's body outlined she circles two areas on it and brings up detailed scans of those parts of her anatomy. With a careful administering of molecule specific radiation therapy she can burn out and clean a few organs of their dead and detritus cells from Kaia's digestive tract. By her own hand she also claims that she can perform delicate keyhole surgery within both her ears. Washu warns Kaia that her degenerative disorder will bring mutations and disease through her hopefully long Juraian lifespan and the first thing she will lose if any more parts of her body get hit by her defective genes is her hearing. The sensitive components of her ear are at risk of denaturing and breaking down within 30 years at Washu's estimates, Kaia's body does not fend well against infection or disease and any catalyst could spark further illness within her.
Given a year she should have the machine she promised Ryoko rebuilt. That has the power to alter Kaia's genes, and Washu hopes with other medical aids the power for her to survive it. For now these two operations are what she can offer to prevent further deterioration and with her digestive tract stop any sepsis from forming and hopefully improve her metabolism. Kaia rests her forehead against Ayeka's. Being blind there is nothing that frightens her more than losing her hearing. All operations involved come with a risk. The risk is as minimal as it possibly can be with her surgeon being Washu. The esteemed scientist adds that it would be unwise but if there is any cosmetic surgery or modifications she desires then these would also be possible. Kaia shakes her head at this, her hand tightly gripping her dear friend's.
"Before I agree to any operation, I wish to talk to my parents and let them know." Kaia quietly speaks.
"Sure, sure. I will not force anything on you. It's earlier on Jurai so they won't be awake now. I'm sorry that I'm behind schedule in this, your case is complex but not impossible for me to cure." Washu is completely professional in her handling of this. She is being delicate with her patient. Her eyes are heavy. Washu returned with Yamcha after midnight, and the call to work got her up early.
"Please, do not apologise. All you have offered me is … words cannot describe how grateful I am for all you have done. I would not want for you to suffer at my expense. If you require a longer break then by all means take it, hoping that Lord Vegeta continues my stay for a similar amount of time." The red head wobbles as she stands and then performs a deep curtsy to the kind woman wishing to perform medical miracles as charity. Even if an exorbitant sum were asked of her Kaia would pay to not become blind and deaf.
"Vegeta will. You've got both Ayeka and Ryoko wanting you here, and he likes his peace while training. If he wanted you gone you would be. I can provide a full report outlining and detailing both operations, the timescales, the recovery periods and the aftercare in Braille or audio format. Your previous doctors did some good work in saving you. To ensure you maintained all mental faculties - surgeries that take that long and on newborns - I will ensure their hard work is continued and bettered by myself." No humility comes from her. Washu looks at the equally nervous Ayeka and nods her head at the princess in reassurance.
Pages upon pages are handed over, all printed in Juraian Braille. Kaia has a fairly high understanding of medicines and biology saying her occupation is sculptor, even so a good chunk of this report goes well beyond what she can understand. Washu includes it for thoroughness and for the psychological value of Kaia having a physical representation of Washu's compacted knowledge on this. She explains a few terms when questioned. For now Kaia is as healthy as she can be and Washu will aim to keep her that way. If all goes to plan she might even have a chance to introduce weakened immunisations to Kaia and bolster her weak natural defences.
Holding a pair of gloves in one hand Kaia holds her borrowed cane and excuses herself with Ayeka keeping a light touch on her arm so she knows that she is there. Mihoshi's make-shift plan of propping open her door partially worked. It kept a constant link between Washu's realm and the natural world, however within Washu's lab are many fluctuations so the relative position of where the room with the fixed door does vary. Washu presses a few buttons so that navigating to it is simpler for the Juraians.
They leave. She rests her heads in her hands. Work. A lot of work. Gohan cleared a fair bit, not nearly enough to make up for her absence. She cracks on. Yamcha is sleeping, she cannot when so many rely on her. A day break was nice. It has not been long enough to close that wound opened. If she does not work hard to corner and destroy Kagato then she can never realise her dream of becoming a mother again. She pauses in her work and opens up a small document. All it has are two lists with a dozen or so entries in them. She removes a few names and types in a new one. One day she hopes that she gets to use these names.
"If ya thought showing your dick won't have me talking about sex then you're wrong. Vegey, can I have Washu give you a lesson on what my biology is so you know what to do?" Ryoko fires another blast at Vegeta's bare back. She grins and giggles as she continues her mischief.
"You are insufferable." The Saiyan grumbles as he exercises and focuses his ki.
"Pay attention to me all day and I might stop. Y'see I'm not keen on the technique you showed during your mating season-"
"Excuse me, I have not been with a woman of such elder years before." Vegeta throws a quick insult back at Ryoko in hope of shutting her up.
"No. You don't know how to treat a lady like myself properly. And y'seem to have some really borderline tastes. C'mon Vegey, Ayeka's barely legal. Saiyan Princes nowadays, pervert."
"Her body may be younger but in terms of mental age-"
"She's also vastly inferior. Thanks for agreeing, Vegey. You shouldn't tease little kids like her. You've got a big girl here who needs you to show her some love."
"Pumpkin."
"I'm not fat!" Her anger rises at that hated nickname. She shouts and three more blasts are fired, none hit their mark.
Vegeta turns to face her as he keeps practising his martial arts.
"My late wife had a child and breastfed, and hers didn't sag half as much as-"
A glowing sword is levelled to his throat.
"Vegey, darling, dear, my little-monkey-love-slave, you're not some 5 year old kid so being mean to the girl you like doesn't work. No need to be mean. I'll forgive you if you go on a date with me today instead. That … or I keep talking about sex to piss you off... Oh. Oh-ho-ho. Vegey, guess what I just remembered. Are you saying mean things to me? Are you hurting me? We wouldn't want to do that now." Ryoko speaks in a low voice.
"... The rules stipulated are no provocation." Vegeta flicks away her sword.
"Yeah well I wasn't there when you made those rules 'cos I was upset that some bastard didn't know how to get me in the right mood before trying to fuck me, so I think that one doesn't count for me. Play nice with me." Coyly holding up one finger she wags it at Vegeta as Ryoko tries to take control.
"How does this endear yourself to me?" With all her efforts today pissing him off he can only ask as to her reason for doing so.
"Dunno what you mean. I'm just happy you care for me so much. You're a weirdo who loves his training, and guess where I am and that you haven't forced me out. It's fate. It's our eternal love burning ever brighter." She claps her hands together and sticks her tongue out.
Her reason is that she can be in his training room. Her reason is that he has not forcefully removed her and in that she finds great amusement and comfort. Vegeta can only force her out with telekinesis. The Saiyan knows that he cannot permanently keep her out with her powers and phasing, and is aware that taking any such action will mean he then has to handle an angry Ryoko with a vendetta against him. Unfortunately for him this is the lesser of two evils. Kaia is a distraction required to remove her. Training is about endurance and this he shall endure.
Kaia and Ayeka emerge from the depths of Washu's lab and Kaia's cane taps its way over to the sofa where she sits down. She glances warily over her shoulder to the direction of the training room. Before she mistook most of his emotions through ki as a dark anger. Now Kaia can see what some of his anger truly feels like. That Vegeta in there is annoyed and it does scare her. She would speak to Ayeka about his anger, however she has made a vow to herself to not disclose this private information that she can sneakily obtain without the consent of the owner of those emotions. Ryo-Ohki hops onto Kaia's lap, she pets it and the cabbit settles down whilst Ayeka offers to make some tea for them both. Her friend has a lot of thinking to do.
"Kai-Kai, you're awake. Great, good, super, now … something worrying you? You getting unnerved 'cos you can sense all the sensual excitement that my Vegey holds for me?" Ryoko teleports from the training room to be next to Kaia on the sofa. She quickly sees that Kaia is troubled.
Fiddling with the cane in her hand and the gloves she is not wearing Kaia briefly explains that she has a few major topics of thought about her health that Washu has brought to her attention. She can have two operations. They come with risks. Ryoko looks at the papers but Braille is not a language she ever cared for. Ayeka comes out of the kitchen with two mugs of tea and gives a wary glance to the pirate. She sets a cup down in front of Kaia and stands watching Ryoko to ensure she behaves.
Kaia lost one of her lungs due to complications during surgery. After being born with several parts of her body undeveloped or festering the doctors were prepared to act as she was diagnosed in the womb. Anaesthesia and her weak new born body did not mix but action had to be taken to save her life. Cardiac arrest cut the operation short and with that it was all they could do to take her lung instead of save it before they had to stitch her back up. Throughout most of her infancy and teenage years she has known operating rooms. It always scares her. So far her roll of the dice has been favourable yet all it takes is one bit of bad luck and she might not wake. She will have Washu perform these complex surgeries on her. And she will be hopeful that those small probabilities of failure do not come about.
Ryoko looks at the gloves in her hands that are not on her hands. Continuing with her curiosity she asks why she still has her walking stick when her gloves are back. Kaia's grip on them tightens. She looks unsure of how to answer or what to say.
"... They … I mean my gloves have been radically upgraded by Dr. Hakubi. … I do not think that I can use them properly. She- she added-" Kaia is both nervous and happy as she cannot restrain the tentative smile on her face. "-my gloves now have basic monochromatic sensors."
"Black and white, huh? That's nice. Now you can see me even better. How's that work? You did it by touch and I don't know how you can touch brightness."
"Miss Washu explained to us that Kaia's gloves will have the normal feedback for distance and shape of an object, though utilising light not sound now, and that temperature variations will indicate how bright or dim a light is." Ayeka explains on her friend's behalf.
It is a wondrous gift for her to have this added dimension bringing her closer to natural sight. Ayeka is however aware of the drawback and why Kaia is not wearing them. It is the same reason she still refuses cybernetic implanted eyes. Kaia does not want the first things she 'sees' in her life to be the things currently around her. She holds romantic views of the first person she sees being the one she loves. It is not practical for her but this is a personal quirk of hers. Even if she could not infer what the gloves tell her for a long while she wants that moment to be special.
"Kaia. I know what you are thinking on this. Is only using that borrowed cane really that pragmatic an option until you feel the time is right for those gloves?" It is wrong to force her friend so Ayeka will only offer this suggestion. The cane will not be suitable for long term use and will hamper Kaia's quality of life. Ayeka's proof in this is that Kaia is making no attempt to drink as without the gloves she is not too sure where the mug is.
"I work without using my gloves. I can make-do." An excuse is given. Her livelihood and career will not suffer a primary impact. Her reasons are her own and she has kept this principle for her whole life.
"My mother was centuries old, my grandmother millennia. How long will you be willing to wait before you ever use your gloves again?" Ayeka details the randomness of the timescale that Kaia is waiting upon. She should not live the majority of her life handicapping herself. If Kaia already had a lover that she was waiting for then she would allow this, but as her friend Ayeka is concerned.
"... But, I have waited 30 years of my life for this moment. I want it to be right, to be perfect." Kaia shakes her head. This is important. She does not want her first sight through light to be of some Saiyan dwelling, some strange place, it has to be a sight she will want to remember forever.
"We talking 'bout Kaia finding a lover? Are you being an idiot and not wanting to see with those damn gloves unless you're walking down the aisle with them?" The rogue picks up on what the conversation is about. Kaia seems uneasy and Ayeka's only reply is a look. Ryoko pokes at Kaia. "What about me, Kaia? Don't I mean anything to you?"
"My heart belongs to you as much as yours belongs to me." Flirting and fun do not equal her wanting to break this vow to herself. Ryoko cannot argue back against this. They both know what their interactions with the other are.
"Harsh. Does it have to be a person? What about like seeing a sunset or some nature crap you Juraians like?" Off-handedly Ryoko offers a suggestion to maybe get Kaia to see a more feasible compromise.
Kaia pauses in thought. Her hands on the gloves feel the great temptation there. By putting these on she shall be sensing light for the first time in her life. A world of more than simple geometry. Of course she wishes to see. She wishes however to see something worthwhile and landscapes for her are hard to picture.
"True … I have never seen a Sun or a moon. No doubt you will try and trick me. At the very least I would like to … to see my parents. But-but, I must ask for forgiveness from Dr. Hakubi. She has done this for me, thought around the issue of my blindness to give me this gift and I am rejecting it so thoughtlessly. … I am not even sure if I can understand what 'brightness' is ..." There is that fear. She might have this sight and not even be able to use it, to comprehend what light is. Brightness is as foreign a concept to Kaia as is colour. Perceptions that cannot be described to a blind woman. She has a workaround of temperature, and no way she can think of visualising this stimuli.
"I hear ya. Taste was what I didn't have before, so yeah I've been there at not knowing what a sense is. I can try something. I learnt taste first by reading Vegey's mind, that only works one way and I don't think we can teach you that. Give me a while and see if I can make a reverse technique." Understanding comes from Ryoko, as does a possible solution. She smiles at her friend.
"You would do that for me?" Kaia is surprised at this honest and earnest effort from her new friend. The mysteries of ki elude her but this sounds like a lot of work to aid her in this small way.
"I know, I know, I'm just too kind and nice is all. Just don't go peeking around too much if I open all my mind to you. Some nasty places in there. If it don't work then you got ki sense which losers like Ayeka don't, so you can try and use that for thinking of 'brightness."
Ayeka was about to say something positive to Ryoko for her kindness towards Kaia and that ship has now sailed past. She sips from her tea and places it down on the table. A deep yawn comes from Ryoko and she slouches down on the sofa near Kaia. A growl comes from the training room, Ryoko makes a sly comment that Vegeta is already missing her as Kaia's head warily turns in that direction. The metal bulkhead opens. Out steps Vegeta. He questions the women as to the current time. None of them are wearing a watch however Ayeka saw what the time was within Washu's lab a while ago and repeats that it will be a few minutes past that.
"Hey Vegeta, Ayeka says she really loves you." Ryoko mockingly calls out to the Saiyan to continue her spate of annoyance.
Vegeta is choosing to not listen to any word spoken by Ryoko after hours of her toying with him. The Juraian Princess is blushing heavily at her emotions being called out. She awkwardly looks at Vegeta, he is paying little mind to Ryoko's words and even if he were those emotions he is already aware of. He walks off upstairs. Ryoko watches. Kaia quietly warns that she should not antagonise him.
"Don't know what you're scared of. Isn't this good proof for ya that he's nice? I've been doing my best to rile him up for a good lot of hours now, and he hasn't done a thing to me. No violence, no touching, only a few mean words that he'll apologise for later. I've got him well trained in how to be nice to his darling Ryoko." Ryoko gloats unabashed and uncaring for Kaia's insight into Vegeta's anger.
"... Hours you say? I was unaware that you were so fond of mornings." A venomous hiss come from Ayeka at the confident words of Ryoko. Kaia cannot sense her friend's feelings, she can hear them just fine – and she surpasses Vegeta in those terms.
"Not mornings, more continuation of night. Didn't I say to ya that if you go to bed early like a good little girl then you don't know what I'm up to?" She feigns a deep yawn to emphasise how she has been up for a long time in Vegeta's company. Ryoko sticks her tongue out and winks.
"Lord Vegeta would not betray me like that." The princess is stern with this statement.
"I mean he never said or agreed to your bitchy complaints." Ryoko shrugs and smiles contently at her mischief stirring up the intended trouble.
Groans come from upstairs. Authoritative barks sound out. A single set of heavy footsteps descend the stairs. Vegeta carries his son down by the scruff of his neck. Sleepy, Trunks is not wanting to be woken up and immediately brought into training. He complains about being constantly woken up by Ryoko and at that Vegeta simply nods and agrees as he was awake during those times as well and had the pleasure of her company then. Ayeka is hearing holes being poked in the story woven by Ryoko. She glares at the pirate for such a bare faced lie, she was with Trunks this night and not sleeping with Vegeta.
"Yoohoo, Vegey, Ayeka's not believing me that we spent almost all of last night together." The rogue teleports into the air between prince and princess.
"I've spent more refreshing hours in Hell. Don't disrupt my training further." Vegeta is not playing nor allowing any mistakes with her word games.
The Saiyan father and son leave into the training room to the complaints of Trunks. Ryoko smiles and then several second later her smile becomes a frown and she groans. Vegeta is no idiot. Now she has voluntarily exited his training room he is constantly keeping up a barrier of ki to prevent her teleporting or phasing inside. Her fun has been cut off.
"When you off? Go on and scram and leave Kai-Kai to enjoy herself with me a little." The playfulness drops from Ryoko. She growls out this question. There lies the reason she is wanting to annoy Vegeta; to punish him for this planned date with Ayeka.
"The well-being and health of my friend takes precedence." Ayeka shall not be taunted nor intimidated. Her plans are her own, she shall not be over eager in this when Kaia is in a delicate position.
"Piss off. Go on your date before I attack you over it." Her feet touch down in front of the princess. Ryoko is not playing. She hates this. With no Vegeta to vent against another target will do.
Danger exists in the form of a jealous pirate. Her exhaust of Vegeta has been sealed. She snorts through her nose. Ayeka is confident that no harm can come to her thanks to the two Saiyans in the next room. The princess shakes her head and declines rushing off. A low rumbling comes from Ryoko. Kaia knocks her cane against the table and calls for Ryoko to calm herself. Ryoko's head lolls in her direction. With cyan hair falling over her face she clearly states that she does not like her man going out with another woman. Ayeka calmly repeats Ryoko's promise of allowing her this in gratitude for saving her from herself so many times, and she receives feline eyes locked onto her. Ryoko hovers up onto a beams. She says with a growl that Ayeka has half an hour to make herself scarce. Ryo-Ohki meows from Kaia's lap, and then settles again with the Juraian instead of her mistress.
"So, young Ayeka has herself a date with the Saiyan Prince? I care not for if Ryoko gets annoyed, she can be annoyed by herself if that is her attitude. At what point did you become brave enough to indulge in these kind of relationships?" Kaia is curious. She retired for the night before Vegeta asked, this is news to her. She smiles at her friend.
There have been a few partners that Kaia has previously dated during her adult life on Jurai. The modest and prim princess has told Kaia prior on her opinion of not following proper courtship protocols. It is fun to turn it back on her friend whom is residing in the house of a man. Ayeka blushes. Upon hearing some teasing of Ayeka, Ryoko goes to speak and Kaia quickly cuts her off and speaks over her. If the rogue is not going to behave properly she shall not be part of this friendly conversation, emphasis on friendly. Kaia tells Ryoko that she can be the one to inform Vegeta of the half an hour timescale imposed.
Close to two hours later the ki barrier surrounding the training room drops upon the sound of knocking. Ryoko's perch is vacated. She sits, sullen, sulking next to Kaia. Leaning against the blind lady as she grumbles to herself with her jealousy still reigning over her mind. His son has woken up now after a gruelling morning of exercise and sparring. With Trunks' lesser control over his ki neither with Saiyan blood transformed. Vegeta opens the metal bulkhead, his mood having marginally brightened without the constant pestering of an annoyed and envious Ryoko. Sweating and panting he stands before the pristine and pampered princess.
"If-if you are still so greatly insisting for my companionship today, then you will do well to remember that due to recent behaviour you shall be kept on a short leash." Ayeka says in a haughty manner.
"Sure, a short leash so that I am closer to you, like you prefer." Vegeta jokes back. The princess can try and keep a disinterested air but Vegeta has made no move for the date today, only her.
The other Juraian chuckles at this as red enters her friend's face. A grumble from Ryoko receives a soft pat on her head. Kaia spent so many years where the only man on Ayeka's mind was her betrothed brother and her fear over the incestuous arranged marriage, it is refreshing and novel to hear her pursuing a relationship out of her own wants – her judgement of the mass murderer Vegeta notwithstanding.
Ayeka is all prepared and ready for her date. An itinerary has been produced after much labour. Times, places, events are all neatly scheduled on her first date she has planned herself, with some minor help from Ryoko. These last few hours she has not been idle. Vanity and pride and nerves have cost her a long time whilst she fussed over her appearance. Her lustrous and long purple hair is swept to the right and then arranged in a French plait. The tiara beneath her fringe has been painstakingly polished. One line of solid light blue a few millimetres thick traces the top of her eyes and ends in a small flick. The olfactory senses of Vegeta are invaded by the sweet nectar of her perfume. Her robe for today is a dark and deep chocolatey brown which lightens to alabaster on her shoulders, collar, breast and the tops of her arms. As with most Juraian fashion there are greens and reds dancing in floral patterns and leaves entwining their way up her robe; dancing up her left hand side, curling around her right hip before weaving up her sternum and down her left arm. A golden sash with a white rope ties about her waist. Tucked into the sash is one pair of translation glasses to aid her when out and about on Earth.
Vegeta is perspiring heavily in dirty clothes scuffed up by battling his son and a fresh bruise is on his neck. His tail scratches an itch on his back. He looks her up and down like he knows she wants him to even as she blushes. Simply he tells her she overdid the perfume and his sensitive nose is not that forgiving of such an scent that blinds it to all else, making a joke that normally a woman wants him to look at no other not be unable to smell no others. He splits a multi-form then walks past her to shower and get dressed himself. Ryoko sits up with an idea. She can use cigarette smoke to annoy the main multi-form of Vegeta here. A finger pokes her and Kaia warns her to not do whatever mischief she is thinking. Ryoko pokes back.
5 minutes later Vegeta idles down the stairs. Another pair of trousers has a hole poked through its rear. Blue trousers and a white shirt is what he wears, nothing extravagant. One hand is in a trouser pocket. As soon as he is in sight he sees Ayeka's eyes are drawn to this pocket as her imagination pictures its contents. He lifts out a handkerchief and places it back to show it is not the desired item he has promised her. Himself he does not know what Ayeka has planned or of the timescales. Vegeta asks her if they shall be using flight or Instant Transmission to get wherever they need to. Ayeka explains that even though they have plenty of time to arrive at their first destination flying would severely mess up her apparel and hair so the choice is Instant Transmission. Vegeta shrugs and then asks where, as he cannot just teleport to a random place he does not know. Ayeka's plan finds its first flaw.
The princess gives the name of the city, Vegeta shakes his head as he does not know it. Ayeka knows the time difference of this city, that is it as far as it goes concerning geographical details. The Saiyan crosses his arms and thinks. He estimates it will take him 10 to 15 minutes to find the city and flies off immediately. The form of Ryoko vanishes from the sofa. A loud bark comes from the training room. Ayeka peers through the porthole and a purple wall of ki hems in Ryoko and shepherds her out. She teleports annoyed to Kaia again and complains that Vegeta is being mean to her. Kaia is not sympathetic. She turns her head about and wishes her friend good luck, which annoys Ryoko more. Kaia promises to Ayeka that she will keep Ryoko in check here.
"You can try. What if I make 5 of me? You can't sense me. I can do what I want with you, have some dating fun of my own." Ryoko snickers with impish intent. She will not be bound by Juraians. She moves her face close to Kaia, the blind lady can tell where she is and places a palm on Ryoko's face to stop her.
"I am holding you to your word about the special technique. It would be most appreciated if this was completed sooner rather than later." Kaia reminds Ryoko of the possible constructive activities she could be undertaking instead of being a pest. She pushes with her palm and then removes it.
Ayeka takes out a small piece of paper from the inside of one of her sleeves and skim reads it. Locations should not prove a continued issue once they arrive at their first destination. She checks there are no other oversights. Kaia calls out from the sofa to her friend that she is overthinking and it will ruin her fun if she keeps worrying. Ryoko then chides that she expects her back well before her bed time. Kaia pauses and does not silence Ryoko immediately. She thinks. The friend questions Ayeka whether she should be taking a chaperone to escort her considering her station and status. Ryoko smiles, for as much as Ayeka lives by her principles they do bend when it comes to getting what she wants.
"... Vegeta is not a man who enjoys his privacy being invaded." The excuse comes from the maiden's lips as she pretends to be busy still reading her list. She should have a chaperone by all accounts. She does not want a chaperone to interfere. Ayeka adds a further complaint. "If my father is that untrusting of me then it is about time he spoke to myself and not those around me."
12 and a half minutes later and a windswept Vegeta lands and marches back into his house. That city is not the easiest to find with only a time-zone to work with, and after that he had to remain there for a while to acclimatise to the ki of the spot and memorise where to teleport to. Kaia lets out a smile to herself to which Ryoko notices and frowns at, she is sensing Vegeta's ki and this is not a reaction the pirate wants. Vegeta turns to Ryoko and barks a warning to not disturb either variations of himself. A middle finger is stuck up in reply. The prince places a hand on the princess' shoulder and they vanish.
