A couple days after the sports festival ended, classes resumed at UA High. Izuku met up with Danny as they walked to the train they take to get to school. They had umbrellas as it was raining.

"Man," Danny sighed. "This is why I miss school buses. All this walking is so boring."

Izuku said, "Another thing that makes America and Japan different, I guess. So, are you going to tell me what you told Bakugo?"

Danny stopped walking and whispered in Izuku's ear. Izuku turned pale as Danny pulled away. "Yep. That's the exact same face Bakugo had when I told him."

"Whoa," Izuku muttered. "That's terrifying. But what is this power?"

Danny smirked, "Story for another time. Besides, we aren't exactly in private. Anyone could be listening."

Izuku looked around as Danny walked toward the train station. After seeing Danny walk ahead, Izuku ran up to catch him.

On the train, passengers recognized both Izuku and Danny from the sports festival. Before anyone could hound him, Danny turned invisible and intangible, but Izuku wasn't so lucky. He got nervous with all the attention, but everyone was wishing him congrats and to keep fighting. When the train arrived at their station, Danny turned Izuku intangible and pulled him out of the train toward UA High.

After walking for a bit, Danny let go and lifted the intangibility. Izuku shuttered, "That felt weird."

Danny chuckled, "You get used to it after a while. And sorry about that. You know I hate being the center of attention."

"I know," Izuku replied. "Wait! I just remembered. I never said thank you. I know you didn't want to have all the attention at the festival, so I figured that you weren't going to try and win. But All Might told me what you said to him about winning for me. So thank you. I really mean it."

Danny nodded, "You're welcome. You still did well during the tournament. Maybe next time you can go farther. And I can just be in the background."

Izuku replied, "I doubt anyone would let you. Given what you showed off during the festival."

Danny sighed, "True."

Izuku yawned, "I'm still so tired from it, though. I feel like I'm barely awake."

Suddenly Tenya came running and ran past the two boys, "Good morning, Midoriya, Fenton!"

Danny chuckled, "You really went all out with the rain gear, dude."

Tenya looked behind him, "Why on earth are you two walking so slowly? You'll both be late."

Izuku shouted, "Late? But there's still five minutes before the first bell." Izuku ran after him while Danny sighed and decided to float behind them.

Tenya replied, "UA students should always arrive ten minutes early, don't you think?"

Danny then sped flew past them, "If that's the case, then hurry up you two!"

Tenya and Izuku ran fast to the entrance of the school to catch up.

Once inside, they put their umbrellas away and Tenya put his rain gear in his locker.

Izuku said, "So, Iida, um…."

Tenya interrupted, "If it's about my brother, don't be concerned. I'm sorry if I made you worry. Everything'll be fine." He walked away with Izuku feeling unsure.

Danny noticed a certain look in Tenya's eyes. One that he's seen far too often. He hoped that Tenya wouldn't do something stupid in the future.

In their homeroom, everyone was talking about the sports festival.

Mina said, "It's so weird that people recognize us from TV. Everyone wanted to talk to me on the way here."

Kirishima added, "Yeah, me too!"

Toru said, "People on the street were staring at me! It was kind of embarrassing."

Oijiro told her, "Sure, but isn't that pretty normal for you?"

Kaminari sighed, "You won't believe what a bunch of elementary school brats yelled out me."

"Nice try?" Tsuyu guessed.

Kaminari groaned while Momo said, "All it took was one sports festival and suddenly people are treating us like celebrities. Now I have a feeling of what it's like to be my parents."

Danny chuckled, "I'm glad to see that everyone is getting the recognition they deserve."

Momo replied, "What about you, champion? I assume people tried to talk to you about your win."

Danny groaned, "Yeah, but I just turned myself intangible so I could avoid them. I hate paparazzi."

Aizawa opened the door and walked in, "Morning."

Class 1-A replied, "Good morning, Mr. Aizawa."

Tsuyu noted, "Ribbit? Mr. Aizawa, you don't have bandages anymore. That's good news."

Aizawa replied, "The old lady went a little overboard in her treatment. Anyway. We have a big class today on Hero Informatics."

People started to internally freak out. Kaminari was worried that it was a pop quiz, Kirishima thought it was about hero laws.

Aizawa revealed, "You need codenames. Time to pick your hero identities."

People cheered, excited to finally be picking their hero names. But Danny just silently chuckled, as he already had his codename.

Aizawa activated his Quirk and everyone quieted down. He released it and continued, "This is related to the pro hero draft picks that I mentioned the last time we were in class together. Normally, students don't have to worry about the draft yet. Not until their second or third year actually, but your class is different. In fact, by extending offers to first years like you, pros are essentially investing in your potential. Any offers can be rescinded if their interest in you dies down before graduation, though."

Toru said, "So what you are saying is, we'll still have to prove ourselves after we've gotten recruited."

Aizawa nodded, "Correct. Now. Here are the totals for those of you who got offers."

He pressed a button and names of students appeared on the screen behind him. Danny got the most offers with 5032 offers. Todoroki was in second with just over 4000 while Bakugo was in third with just over 3000. Next was Tokoyami with 360, followed by Iida, Kaminari, Momo, Kirishima, and Ochaco. Izuku got none along with Aoyama and Mina.

Aizawa explained, "In past years, it's been more spread out. But there's a pretty big gap this time."

Kaminari sighed, "Gah! That's no fair."

Aoyama and Mina were pissed.

Jiro was confused, "Todoroki got more than Bakugo?"

Kirishima agreed, "Yeah, it's the opposite of how they placed in the festival."

Sero said, "They probably weren't excited about working with the guy who had to be chained up in the end."

Bakugo growled, "If I scared a pro, they're just weak!"

Momo was at least happy she got some offers. She leaned forward, "Congrats, Danny. You got the most offers."

Danny sighed, "Great. I decided to show off for someone else and this is the consequence of it." He looked over at Shoto, "You got a lot of offers too, dude. Congrats."

Momo agreed, "That's amazing. You must be proud."

Shoto mumbled, "These offers are probably because of my father."

Danny chuckled, "True. Again, what a fruit loop."

That statement made Shoto smile a little. Momo was confused.

Ochaco shook Tenya in excitement, "People want us!"

Danny leaned forward and whispered, "Sorry that you didn't get any offers, Izuku. I wish I could just give you all of mine." Izuku sighed.

Aizawa continued, "Despite these results, you'll all be interning with pros. Got it? Even those of you who didn't get any offers."

Izuku asked, "Oh, so we're all interning?"

Aizawa nodded, "Yes. You already got to experience combat with real villains during the attack on the USJ facility. But it'll still be helpful to see pros at work. Up close and personal, in the field. Firsthand."

Sato shouted, "And for that, we need hero names!"

Ochaco added, "Things are suddenly getting a lot more fun!"

Aizawa continued, "These hero names will likely be temporary, but take them seriously or…"

Midnight suddenly burst into the room, "You'll have hell to pay later! What you pick today could be your codename for life. You better be careful, or you'll be stuck with something utterly indecent."

Aizawa sighed, "Yeah, she's got a good point. Midnight is going to have final approval over your names. It's not my forte. The name you give yourself is important. It helps reinforce your image and shows what kind of hero you wanna be in the future. A codename tells people exactly what you represent. Take All Might for example."

Midnight passed out white boards so everyone could write the codename they were thinking of. Aizawa got out his sleeping bag and took a nap.

Midnight asked, "Now, students, who among you is ready to share?"

Aoyama volunteered to go first. He walked up to the podium, "Hold your breath. The Shining Hero. My name is "I can not stop twinkling!" Mon amis. You can't deny my sparkle."

Class 1-A was horrified, "Come on!" Danny chuckled under his breath.

Midnight told Aoyama, "It'll be better this way. Take out the "I" and shorten the "cannot" to "can't"."

Aoyama smiled, "It's stunning, mademoiselle."

Class 1-A groaned, "She likes it?"

Sato asked, "Also, you're not really French, are you? That's just an act."

Mina was next, "Okie dokie, lemme go next. My code name: Alien Queen!"

Midnight protested, "Hold on. Like that alien monster with the acidic blood? I don't think so."

Mina sighed, "Dang it."

Tsuyu raised her hand, "Ribbit. I think I've got one. OK if I go next?"

Midnight nodded, "Come on up."

Tsuyu walked up to the podium, "I've had this name in mind since grade school. Rainy Season Hero: Froppy!"

Midnight beamed, "That's delightful! It makes you sound approachable. What a great example of a name everyone will love!"

The class started to chant, "Froppy! Froppy! Froppy!"

Kirishima was next, "I've got mine, too. The Sturdy Hero. My name is Red Riot!"

Midnight commented, "Red Riot? Interesting. You're paying homage to the Chivalrous Hero, Crimson Riot, yes?"

Kirishima nodded, "That's right. He may be kind of old school, but someday, I wanna be just like he was. Crimson is my idol."

Midnight replied, "If you're bearing the name of someone you admire, you have that much more to live up to."

Kirishima grinned, "I accept your challenge."

Izuku was having a hard time coming up with a name. He remembered that his mom went through a list he came up with as a kid, all rifts from All Might. But now that he has been given All Might's power, he can't use a name like his. He still has a lot to leave up to.

Danny kept his board face down so no one could see it. He had his name written down in less than 5 seconds and was just curious and what everyone else came up with.

Kaminari sighed, "Man. I still haven't been able to think of anything that's cool enough."

Jiro tapped Kaminari on the shoulder, "Hey, I've got one. How does "Jamming-yay" sound to you?"

Kaminari replied, "Oh, it's like Hemingway, who wrote A Farewell to Arms, right? Real clever. I like it."

Jiro giggled, "No. It's because even though you're powerful, you always jam your brain."

Kaminari growled, "Come on, Jiro! Quit messing with me!"

Jiro ran up to the podium, "The Hearing Hero. I'm Earphone Jack."

Midnight commented, "Now that's a good one!"

Shoji was next, "The Tentacle Hero, Tentacole."

Midnight commented, "Oh, I like what you're doing with that. A nice portmanteau."

Sero said, "The Taping Hero, Cellophane!"

Midnight commented, "That's on the nose. Good work!"

Oijiro said, "Martial Arts Hero: Tailman."

Midnight commented, "No surprise with that one, I guess."

Sato said, "I'm the Sweets Hero: Sugarman!"

"Perfect," Midnight praised.

"Pinky!" Mina shouted.

Midnight cheered, "Make those looks work for you, girl!"

Kaminari said, "Stun Gun Hero, I am Chargebolt. Electric, don't you think?"

Midnight praised, "Makes me all tingly!"

Toru said, "The Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl!"

Midnight commented, "That really suits you. Now come on, who's gonna step up next?"

Momo stood up, "I hope I can live up to this name. The Everything Hero, I'm Creati!"

"Creative!" Midnight praised.

Shoto just said, "Shoto."

Midnight asked, "Just your name? That's it?" Shoto nodded.

Tokoyami said, "Jet Black Hero: Tsukuyomi."

Midnight commented, "Ah, God of the Night."

Koji just held up his sign that read "Petting Hero: Anima".

Midnight commented, "Yep. All about it."

Bakugo revealed, "King Explosion Murder."

Midnight said, "I'm gonna say that one's a little too violent."

Bakugo shouted, "Huh, what do you mean?"

Kirishima suggested, "Why don't you be Explosion Boy?"

Bakugo growled, "You shut up, weird hair!"

Ochaco went next, "This is the name I thought of: Uravity!"

Midnight praised, "I just love that!" She then looked at the clock, "To be honest, choosing names is going faster than I thought it would. All we have left is young Bakugo, who needs to rethink his, and Iida. Oh, yes, and Midoriya, too. Wait, add Fenton to that list."

"Oh," Danny replied. "I've already got my name."

Everyone looked at him, "What?"

Danny shrugged, "I've had this hero name picked out a long time ago. I just wanted to hear everyone else's."

Midnight said, "You still have to share yours. But I'll let you share yours last."

Tenya was facing a dilemma. His brother told him at the hospital that he had to retire because he was now paralyzed from the waist down. So he wanted Tenya to take on the name Ingenium. But Tenya couldn't. He just held up a sign that read his own name.

Midnight asked, "You're using your real name, too?" Tenya nodded. Midnight looked over at Izuku, "Are you ready, Midoriya?"

Izuku nodded and made his way to the podium. He showed the class his sign, and everyone was shocked.

"You sure about that?" Kaminari asked.

Kirishima added, "Yeah, man, remember, this could be your name forever."

Izuku said, "Right. I used to hate it. But then, something changed. I guess….Someone taught me that it could have a different meaning. And that had a huge impact on how I felt. So, now I really like it. Deku. That has to be my codename!"

Everyone smiled at that, except Bakugo, who stood up and shouted, "Lord Explosion Murder!"

Midnight sighed, "That's basically the same thing. You are going to need time after this class to think about your name. But for now, let's end this with Fenton."

Danny stood up and walked up to the podium. He held up his sign, "Like I said, this is a name that I chose long ago. But I did make a little tweak. I used to put my first name in front of this, but now I decided to shorten it. I am the Ghost Hero: Phantom!"

Everyone, minus Bakugo, cheered.

Over in the teacher's lounge, Cementoss was looking over at the offers coming in, "Huh. Offers for the first years are still coming in. Looky here, All Might."

All Might asked, "Who's that one for?"

"For two, actually," Cementoss revealed. "This hero specifically requested both Midoriya and Fenton.

All Might asked, "Really? Who's after him?" But when he saw who the hero was, he shouted, "What? Are you kidding me?"

Back in Class 1-A, Aizawa woke up and stood up, "Now that everyone's decided on their hero names, we can go back to talking about upcoming internships. They'll last for one week. As for who you'll be working with. Those of you who were on the board will choose from among your offers, everyone else will have a different list. You have a lot to think about. There are around 40 agencies across the country who've agreed to take on interns from your class. Each agency has a different specialty that its heroes focus on. Keep that in mind."

Midnight added, "Imagine you were Thirteen. You'd want to choose a place that focuses on rescuing people, not fighting villains. Understand?"

Aizawa said, "Think carefully before you decide."

"Yes, sir," Class 1-A replied.

As the bell rang, Aizawa passed out the lists for everyone.

Kirishima said, "I want to fight crime and bad guys in a big city."

Tsuyu added, "I just hope I can intern someplace where there's a lot of flooding. Maybe a lake."

Aizawa said, "Turn in your choices before the weekend."

Sero asked, "We only got two days?"

Aizawa said, "Yeah, so you should start now. You're dismissed." He and Midnight walked out of the classroom.

Shoto looked at his list and saw that his father's agency was on it. He knew right away he would not be choosing that one.

During lunch, people were still in the classroom. Mina sighed, "So, guys, have you decided what pro agency you wanna go for?"

Oijiro told her, "You made it pretty far in the tournament. It's weird you didn't get any offers."

Mina replied, "I know."

Ochaco asked, "Hey, Deku, who's on your list?"

But Izuku was mumbling to himself, "There are only 40 heroes who will take us, so after looking up their specialities and splitting them into groups, I can start narrowing…"

Danny smacked Izuku on the head, "Dude, Ochaco just asked you a question."

Izuku said, "Huh? Oh sorry. What did you say?"

Tsuyu walked over to him, "You're really thinking hard about this, aren't you?"

Ochaco reassured Izuku, "It'll all work out. I've settled on my pick."

"Already?" Mina was amazed.

"What agency?" Oijiro asked.

Ochaco answered, "The one that the Battle Hero, Gunhead, runs."

Izuku was confused, "Huh? Gunhead's a big brawler, though. Are you sure you wanna intern there, Uraraka?"

Ochaco nodded, "Yep. He sent me an offer."

Izuku was surprised, "Whoa, really? But, I thought you were trying to be a hero kinda like Thirteen, more into rescuing than fighting."

Ochaco said, "Ultimately, that's the plan. But I've been thinking ever since the festival, well, at least since I faced off against Bakugo. The stronger I am, the more possibilities I'll have. Plus, learning from a battle hero will give me a different perspective, right?"

Izuku agreed, "Yeah, totally."

Ochaco then said, "More importantly, there's something I've been meaning to ask you all day. Why are you trembling?"

Izuku asked, "Oh, this? It's exercise."

"Exercise?" Ochaco asked. "Were you doing that the whole class?"

Oijiro added, "A smart way to train. The isometric muscle contraction that's needed to hold your body above your seat makes it an easy way to work out without moving.'

"Idiots," Bakugo mumbled.

Tokoyami added, "Tis skill not strength that governs a ship."

Momo asked, "Hey Danny, what agency are you thinking of?"

Danny sighed, "I don't know. So many made offers and I don't know most of them. I guess I have to do a lot of research in order to pick one."

Later that day, Izuku and Danny were packing up to head home when Ochaco and Momo walked over. Ochaco asked, "Do you two wanna walk together?"

"We were going to ask Iida," Momo added. "But he left already."

Izuku said, "I bet he already decided where he wants to do his internship. My guess he's off turning his forms in right now."

When Izuku opened the door, All Might appeared in his hero form, "I am here in a bizarre position!"

Izuku asked, "Yeah, what's that about, and why are you here in such a hurry?"

All Might answered, "You and Fenton need to come with me for a sec."

Danny answered, "OK, sure. Ochaco, Momo, we'll meet up with you in a little bit."

All Might guided them near the restrooms then said, "I'll get straight to the point. You two have received offers from a hero who'd like to take both of you on."

Izuku gasped, "Wait, seriously, who?"

All Might answered, "The hero's name is Gran Torino. He taught at this school back in my day, but only for one year. In fact, the man was my homeroom teacher. He knows about One For All, as well. Actually, I suspect that's the reason he asked for you, Midoriya."

Izuku gasped, "This guy sounds totally awesome! Wait, so he knows how your Quirk works, too? But how?"

All Might answered, "Gran Torino was the sworn friend of my predecessor. He retired a long time ago, so I forget to count him among the people who know. This is probably because I wrote about you in the letter I sent him. Or maybe he watched the festival and thinks that my teaching is inadequate. If he went so far as to use his old hero name when making the offer….it's scary. Too scary. Damn it legs, stop shaking."

Danny said, "This guy must be really interesting if he's got you scared. But why would he want me as well?"

All Might answered while still shaking, "I told him about you in my letter as well. He must be very curious about how your Quirk works and wants to see what you can do for himself. Anyway, it is my duty to train both of you. But, since you two got an offer, you both should work with him this week if that's what your hearts say. Anyway, here's the address."

Danny and Izuku took the piece of paper All Might offered.

Over in the teacher's lounge, Aizawa was looking over all the internships and offers. Snipe was looking over his shoulder, "Internships, huh?"

Aizawa nodded, "Yeah. A few students already chose theirs."

Snipe said, "It's an important time for them. Make sure they do it right. Plenty of third years here still regret their picks."

He walked away while Aizawa noticed that Tenya only picked one place, which he found strange as he got better offers than the place he chose, a hero agency in Hosu.

Izuku and Danny met back up with Ochaco and Momo, telling them about the offer they just got.

Ochaco said, "Deku, congrats that you got an offer. That's awesome!"

Momo asked, "So, Danny, are you going to accept this offer?"

Danny nodded, "Yeah. I mean, if this hero was the one who trained All Might, then he sounds like a good pick."

The four walked home, although Izuku was worried about Tenya.

On the first day of internships, Aizawa was with Class 1-A at the train station, "Everyone has their costumes, right? Remember, you don't have permission to wear them out in public yet, and don't lose them or anything."

Mina shouted, "Gotcha!"

Kirishima added, "Fenton's lucky, he's practically already wearing his."

Aizawa continued, "Make sure you mind your manners with the other heroes during your internships. Now get to it."

"Yes, sir!" Class 1-A replied.

Tenya walked away, but Izuku ran up to him, "Iida, wait! If you ever want to talk or anything, just let any of us know. We're friends, right?"

Tenya nodded, then walked away. Danny, Shoto, Ochaco, and Momo saw all of this.

Danny and Izuku got on the train heading to the city where Gran Torino was. Izuku said, "So this hero is someone All Might seems to be afraid of."

"Personally," Danny added. "I've never heard of Gran Torino before. I guess he's well before All Might's time as a hero."

"Same here," Izuku agreed. "But he must be incredible!"

They arrived at the address, a run down building. Danny said, "Well, this is the place. Surprised his agency is here. Shall we?"

Izuku knocked, no one answered. He opened the door, "Hello, we're here from UA High. I'm Izuku Midoriya, Danny Fenton is here too. We're really looking forward to….."

But Izuku and Danny found Gran Torino lying face down on the floor, in a pool of what looked like blood, not moving.

Izuku screamed, "Holy whoa, he's dead!"

Danny chuckled, "I don't think that's blood."

Gran Torino popped his head up, "I'm alive."

Izuku screamed, "He's alive!"
