I met Cassius in a compartment, his clothes were worn out. "I'm a bit nervous going so far away from home." Cassius nodded.

"I'm more worried about my siblings. Being the oldest can be a chore."

I chuckled. "Making sure they don't break the rules."

"Comforting them when something goes wrong."

"Making sure they don't hurt themselves."

"Always being the responsible one."

"That's what we get for being born first." We laughed. "What house are you hoping for? I'm between Ravenclaw and Slytherin."

Cassius smiled. "Same, anything other than Gryffindor." I nodded, that house was more suited to Lily than me. "Mother wouldn't tell me how we will be sorted."

"At Diagon Alley, a girl said they made you cut your finger and a drop of your blood into a bowl." Cassius shook his head.

"Most blood magic is banned by the ministry, I hope it's not some test where the score decides your house. Gryffindor house of dunderheads." We both laughed.

"a pair of twins said Slytherin was filled with evil wizards."

Cassius looked annoyed. "That's because all the ambitious people go to Slytherin. My mother said it's how you apply that ambition."

I nodded. "Makes sense, someone seeking knowledge could go evil like Frankenstein or someone too loyal can kill like those crusaders, and courageous people can be stupid. Still, my first choice is Ravenclaw. Blue suits me better."

"Would match your pretty eyes, Petunia." I felt my cheeks heating up.

"What's your wand made of Tobias?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

He looked shocked. "You shouldn't ask a witch or wizard that. It's like asking the codes to their Safe and call me Cassius please."

I was so embarrassed. "I'm so sorry!"

"Don't worry I made the same mistake when I asked my mom." I let out a relieved breath. "Mine's made of Ash wood and a Cerberus claw core."

"Olivender said mine is applewood with unicorn hair. I hope to see a real unicorn!"

We continued to talk about what we would do at Hogwarts then the train stopped.

All the first years were brought onto boats as a giant of a man guided us. Only moments later I saw the majestic Castle above the cloud, it was radiant in the darkness of the night.

We entered the hall and Professor McGonigal met with us. She radiated confidence and power, I wanted to be like her. We continued into the great after the hat song, we were being called one by one. "Bill Adamson" "Gryffindor!" "Wilbert. Aldia" "Hufflepuff!" "Patty Allen." "Gryffindor!" This continued. "Petunia Evans." I walked up and took my seat.

"Hmmm, You're mature for your age, yes. You're headstrong but not eager to jump into the fire, a mind like yours belongs in" I wanted to hold the year as it yelled. "RAVENCLAW!" I smiled and walked past the other first years to The Raven claw table as My robes changed color.

It took a while until Cassius sat on the chair, and unlike me or the other first years, the hat yelled even before touching his head. "SLYTHERIN!" Cassius walked to Slytherin.

I wrote to Lily the moment I got into the dorms, I made friends with my dorm mates. Emily Foster and Elizabeth Tock. Sadly I was the only Muggleborn of the three of us, as tests came and went Cassius was looking worse, though during charms I saw one of his notes.

"You're Tutoring?" We whispered, having finished our charms.

"I will be tutoring my dorm mates, a Sickle an hour. Professor Slughorn said, "I have an entrepreneurial spirit." But I will start at the start of the next semester." I nodded made sense given how his family barely had money and all his robes were secondhand.

"Why didn't you try this at the start of the semester or middle of the semester?" He was smirking and later found out why. A week before Christmas break the headmaster made a list of the ten best students from each year.

"Looks like Elizabeth got first place," I said while she grinned proud of herself. "Don't forget who helped you with Herbology." I reminded her and her grin disappeared.

"Yeah, I can't stand dirt, how do you do it?" She had a posh accent being from a pure blood family.

I gave a simple answer. "I helped my Mother in the garden a lot, so I know my way with plants."

"Come on Petunia, you're second!" Emily said pointing at it, I was so proud and I trusted that I was so happy to make Ravenclaw proud and Emily got way too angry. "WHAT?! WHO IN MERLIN'S BEARD IS TOBIAS SNAPE!?" I looked and Emily was fourth behind Cassius.

"He prefers Cassius." They looked at me. "What? We're from the same town."

Tock decided to place me in one of our romance novels. "Oh really? Two friends in a boarding school, opposite houses."

"Elizabeth we're in Ravenclaw, and I'm pretty sure Cassius would burn Hogwarts down before being stuck in Hufflepuff."

Emily gently slapped my back. "She's just teasing, now can I knock his noggin off because he ruined my hopes of all the first-year Ravenclaw girls having the top spots?" I shrugged though later we found her shoes stuck at the Grand staircase.

"Oh, what happened?" Elizabeth asked as Emily pulled at her legs.

"I just said "hey Tobias!" he gave me a death glare, blew my wand out of my hand, and used the sticking charm on my feet!"

I used the counter charm and Emily got free. "I told you he prefers Cassius."

"Yes, you did, why did he react this way?" I shrugged. I only knew he preferred Cassius.

"I'm not messing with him, that glare scared me." I nodded.

"I will talk to him tomorrow. He's usually so nice."

Elizabeth spoke up. "Don't worry Petunia, Emily was going through the motions."

Emily nodded. "Yea, and I don't that gits Apology."

We got back to the tower, and the next morning during breakfast an Origami bird came flying to our area and landed next to Emily. "Lizy read it for me, my hands are full."

Elizabeth took it and read it out loud. "Dear Emily, I Apologize for my behavior yesterday. I was in a bad mood because of one of the seventh Years. Bellatrix called me a mudblood" I was confused, but Emily almost choked on her egg. "and I Apologize for lashing out against you. My deepest apology if I caused you any inconvenience. T. Cassius Snape."

Cassius looked Away when we turned to him at the Slytherin table. "What does mudblood mean?" Then laughter came from the Slytherin table as one of the seventh year girl's hair turned red and gold. He ran screaming to the washroom.

Elizabeth explained. "Is a derogatory term for muggle-borns and half-bloods. My parents say I should never say it because it's disgusting. It means anyone with muggle relatives is lesser than wizards and witches who are pure blood." I nodded as disgust spread across my face.

"If that girl was Bellatrix we know who turned her into a Gryffindor." We laughed.

When Easter came we hugged and said our goodbyes but then noticed Cassius and I were the only ones there waiting. "Looks like they forgot us." He chuckled.

"My parents are arguing too much to realize I'm coming home."

"Knowing my parents, Dad will panic once Mom starts breakfast and sees the calendar."

He chuckled. "At Least they care." I turned to him, did his parents not care about them or his siblings?

"If it gets dark I will use the night bus. I got a few galleons from Professor Slughorn, for helping restock the medical wing."

"What was your grade? I got most Os but transfiguration I got an E and Dada was really hard and only got acceptable."

Cassius shrugged. "I got all the Outstanding. Except history of magic and Astrology. I kept getting bored or tired from those classes, an older housemate gave me his notes for history and I just slept through it."

I laughed. "Professor Binns sucks the magic out of that class! He's like anti-magic! I only got an O because Elizabeth had this recording shell she got from Italy."

Cassius was impressed. "No wonder she got to the top of the first years, with something like that you would make writing essays easier!"

I nodded. "Do you have friends in Slytherin?" He sighed.

"My fellow Slytherin are all tossers. Except for Lucius he talks to me and keeps the rest from me jinxing me in my bed." I felt sorry for Cassius. "I got better with some Ravenclaws during study hours. Lucas Anderson, he was the one who showed me the charm to make that origami bird fly."

"Sounds like you better be in a different house." He shakes his head.

"I got invited to the slug club, and got to speak with a lot of famous people during the Christmas party." I was surprised, Elizabeth was invited too and she said she got to meet the captain of the Holyhead Harpies. "He invited me to the next one in December before Christmas break."

"That's amazing! It must have been exciting." He smiled.

"I thought he didn't like me, because I didn't follow the recipes and always changed the recipe when I felt like it but now, I mean I got to meet a potioneer who was researching a cure for lycanthropy!" I nodded, I about to ask until father came yelling.

"Petunia!" We turned to look at my dad running and hugging me close to death. "Oh Princess I missed you so much. Your sister won't stop talking about her big sister and your mom was so angry we forgot, I'm so sorry princess" he picked up my trunk and then saw Cassius. "Are you Cassius?"

"Yes, I am."

"Good you can come along, Severus said you would be coming home, I can drop you on the way back." He smiled and Placed a charm on my bag and his bag. "Did you make it weightless?" He nodded and Father smiled with amazement. "Magic I tell ya!" He said before taking Cassius' bag.

We drove back home and made a stop at spinner's end. "Bye Petunia, Thank you Mr. Evans." he stepped out of the Pontiac Chieftain.

Dad looked at the House and I could tell by his voice that he was worried. "If anything happens there Cassius, our doors are always open Julia and Severus are such nice children." Cassius smiled.

"Thank you, Mr. Evans." he picked up his Trunk and walked into the rundown house.
