Lee woke up surrounded by nurses and doctors, two Shinobi standing in the corner, watching him. Lee blind twice, quickly. He looked around to see the baffled look on doctors.
"Is something wrong? I was just in for a checkup, right?" The doctor waved outside the door, the group of nurses and doctors left, with two different ones coming in.
"Lee, I'm glad to see you awake. Do you feel better?" Lee nodded with a smile on his face.
"I did doctor-."
"Iryo."
"I did, Dr. Iryo. What's going on, I know it was just a checkup." Iryo sighed before sitting on the edge of the hospital bed.
"Lee, I want you to listen closely. Don't interrupt and don't trail off into your own mind, alright?" Lee gave a nod. "Your coils have a defect. Luckily it's not life threatening. We did discover that the traditional Ninjutsu and Genjutsu will be impossible for you. I'm sorry Lee."
Lee gave a deep sigh before looking up to the doctors. "What's wrong exactly?" Iryo nodded and pulled out a diagram.
"So these are what normal chakra coils look like, you see here?" Iryo pointed to the bottom point of the coils. Lee nodded. "That's where a special limiter for chakra is. It limits how much chakra your body produces, along with how much it expels. Yours isn't just damaged, but missing entirely. We saw some evidence of injury in that area of the coil, and have decided based on that evidence, that your injury was most likely an accident during birth. Why the doctor didn't report the injury is unknown." Lee heaved a sigh, deeply annoyed.
"I swear…" Lee trailed off before taking a deep breath. "What should I expect in the future? Can I still use chakra?" Iryo nodded.
"Well, there's quite a lot of good news with the bad. The bad news is that you only have 3 branches for a specialty that you can truly master, as compared to the countless normal shinobi. The good news is that the chances of you mastering these arts is significant." Lee's eyes shone with hope. "After consulting Might Guy and getting confirmation from Jiraiya-sama, we can confirm that your chakra system is perfect for three arts."
Lee pulled a notepad and pen from seemingly thin air, causing everyone in the room to grow exasperated, all but one of course.
'He's even taking notes! How YOUTHFUL!'
"Right now, Taijutsu is the field with the most potential for you. Your chakra pathways and tenketsu are far stronger than should be possible at your age, and with further training, they will only get stronger. It's part of the reason you channel chakra into your muscles so naturally, something Guy has told us is quite advanced to use actively." Lee quickly nodded, writing down something in his notepad.
"Your next two options are Fuinjutsu and Senjutsu. I promised Hokage-sama I wouldn't tell you anything other than what they are. These techniques are very dangerous. Both require near perfect control of your internal chakra, and finesse that most Jonin do not possess. Fuinjutsu is the art of sealing, and is an ancient foundation of Konoha's strength. Senjutsu is the art of Sage Techniques, many of Konoha's greatest protectors have been sages." Lee wrote furiously, getting a small laugh out of one of the Jonin in the corner.
"What's so funny?" The woman looked up, holding back laughter.
"Nothing, just- carry on." She continued to shake with laughter. Lee shrugged his shoulders and continued listening.
"Anyway-" Iryo sent a pointed look to the two distracting Jonin. "-These two will be able to train you in preparation for these fields. Gai-san-" Gai waved at Lee, with Lee waving back. "-Will be preparing you for body enhancement and taijutsu."
"Wait… Gai!? As in Might Gai!?" Iryo nodded as Lee shot out of his hospital bed. "GAI SENSEI!"
Gai's eye's shined. "YOUTH!"
Something in Lee's brain, perhaps snapped at the word. Lee's pupils dilated, his breathing grew tight. Gai was concerned for a moment before he recognised something.
"Y-!" The other Jonin began to sweat. "Yo-!" Iryo was biting his nails, preparing for the worst.
"COME LEE! SAY IT!" Gai was practically vibrating with excitement.
"YOUTH!" Iryo fainted on the spot, the Jonin was having a panic attack while elsewhere, the Hokage was flipping tables.
"Kami, why are there two of them!?" Lee sensed the power in the word…
"It's…"
Gai and Lee ran towards each other.
"Gai-Sensei!"
"Lee!"
"Gai-Sensei!"
"Lee!" The two had tears streaming down their faces.
Everyone was looking on in horor, attempting to dispel the genjutsu of a sunset lit beach behind them.
"How youthful!" The two said in sinc. The Jonin drew a kunai, before pointing it at the two.
"I swear to Kami if you ever do that around me again, I will destroy your jumpsuit!" Gai flinched, before a grim look crossed his face.
"Lee, it seems we must dim our flames of youth when we aren't together…" Lee gasped before tears flowed form his face.
"But Gai-sensei-!"
"I know Lee! It's terrible… but it seems we have no choice."Gai and Lee looked down as a nurse woke Iryo.
"Was it a nightmare?" Iryo looked up seeing the pair down trotten. "Oh Kami it wasn't…" Iryo shook his head, shaking off the horror. "Moving on from… that. Anko will be preparing you for Senjutsu." Anko sighed before walking over to Lee.
"Rule #1: If you show up to my class in a jumpsuit, I'll have to murder you."
Lee began to sweat, for some strange reason he could tell the woman was serious.
"Rule #2: Don't try to do something on your own unless it's an emergency."
Lee nodded, thinking to himself of the obvious nature of the rule.
"Lastly Rule #3: If you do something perverted, it better be the fun kind."
Lee grew rapidly confused before Iryo hit the top of the woman's head.
"Oi! Don't say things like that to a child!" Anko seemingly pouted as she rubbed her head.
"Whatever…" Anko continued to mumble profanities outside of the ears of Lee.
"Lastly, I personally will be teaching and preparing the basics of Fuinjutsu. A different teacher will take over for me and Anko should you progress far enough." Lee nodded with a smile. "And I have the same first two rules as Anko." Lee looked like a kicked puppy as he wrote down rules in his notebook.
Lee shook off his disappointment. "When do we start?"
"You'll be starting during your stay in the academy. You will unfortunately need to stay an extra year however, it will most likely seem like you failed to others. However when your class graduates, you won't have that option. We will be taking you into private tutoring for your last year, and enter you into a Genin team should you graduate our Academy Test for you." Lee nodded, a small weight on his shoulders.
"Don't worry Lee! We'll take on this task with hard work, and the power of YOUTH!"
"Gai-sensei!"
"Lee!"
Iryo's eyes widened. "Hit the deck, close your eyes, fast!" Everyone hit the deck as the sounds of a beach echoed through the room.
