It's My Life
Severus knew his son was right, much that he didn't want to admit it and leave things as they were. "Alright…Alright, I'm sorry, Harry. You're right, bigger things to take care of. But…Just listen to me on this one thing before we go into battle?" Harry sighed and motioned for him to go on. "We both know the possibility that you may have to die with Voldemort, so before we go into this…"
A pause. "Tell Draco you love him. Hug him, kiss him…Just in case that today is the last time you ever get to. If we have to lose you today, it will be hard to accept. But it will be harder on Draco if you don't get to do it one more time. He would probably get through a break up, but your death would be harder. As you said, you're on a break…He believes there's still a chance to fix things." Severus informed gently.
"But if you die, Harry…It's over for good and things would have ended on a very sour and bad note. So, just in case things go the way we believe…Make sure he knows you love him. If this is to be your last day, don't go with regrets and make sure the people you love know you love them. Please, do that for me?" Severus asked.
Harry regarded his father for a moment, but finally, he nodded. "I can do that."
"Thank you." Severus hugged his son tightly and kissed his forehead. "I love you, son."
Harry hugged him back. "I love you too, Dad."
They separated, and Severus left first. Harry took the moment to calm down and get focused. Letting out a breath, and being composed, Harry walked out of his office and already saw the Order assembled.
"I know I'm headmistress…But we're under your leadership, Harry. What do you need from us?" Minerva inquired.
"The whole school is behind you." Alastor added.
"No need to involve the students. I'll open the chamber of secrets, they can hide in there. No one else knows where it is except those I've shown and Voldemort, who will undoubtedly have his focus on me. Students of age and those who were in the army should be the only ones fighting, if they want to take part. The rest, keep them out of it." Harry commanded.
He pulled out his army coin and flicked it into the air before pointing his wand at it, writing out a message along the edges before he tapped it once and the coin began to twist around three times and settle back into his palm. "They'll meet us. How long until his snake-ness arrives?"
"I'd say thirty minutes, taking their time no doubt." Tonks informed.
"Father, head to the manor and get the others. Tell them it's time." Harry informed. Severus nodded and hurried into Harry's office to get to the fireplace.
"I need a group of teachers to stay out of the fight, stay with the students down in the chamber." Harry asked. A group of ten teachers stepped up. "Sal?"
"Right here, Harry." Salazar responded from his portrait. "Though I think I know what you want. I'll guide them down."
"If you wouldn't mind." Harry hoped.
"Not at all." Salazar replied. "Get all the students not participating in the dungeon hallway across from the Slytherin common room entrance." He said.
"Understood." The teachers nodded.
"Harry, got everyone." Severus came down the stairway with his own group of people.
"No time for explanations on who you see before you. Long story short, Death himself granted them back for returning the Deathly Hallows to him." Harry remarked. "Let's go meet up with the others. There isn't going to be time to formulate much of a plan."
"Attack on sight, heard." Tonks, Kingsley, and Alastor said together.
"On my command…" Harry corrected before walking out of the room as his wand came flying into his hand and he caught it without looking. Harry led them to the great hall where the members of the army were waiting, along with those who could fight. Mainly sixth and seventh years.
"Harry, what's happening?" Hermione asked quickly.
"Voldemort has decided today is the day he wants to die, so I say we go grant his wish." Harry informed. "I don't have much of a speech for you. Watch each other's backs and remember that no matter what happens; this war ends today." He paused. "Let's go kick some ass!"
"YEAH!" Everyone cheered.
"Your lead, son." James and Severus said together.
Harry headed outside of the castle with the group that was going to fight and took them to where he knew Voldemort would be waiting. This was it, today it would end. Sure enough, Harry reached the place that Voldemort would show up at.
"I'll keep Tom on me. You just keep the death eaters off me and kill that damned snake." Harry pulled the Basilisk fang from his bag and gave it to Severus. "I don't care who does it, but we don't have the sword…So body-bind it and pierce that through its skull."
"Got it." A few said.
Harry felt his hand get taken and he looked to see Draco as the one doing it. "I-I love you, Harry." Draco said. "I love you and I'm sorry for everything-,"
"Draco…" Harry started.
"No, please…Let me say this because I might not get another chance…" Draco asked. Harry nodded for him to go ahead. "I'm sorry for everything in the last couple months. I was stupid, afraid, and…" He sighed sadly. "I hurt you. I pushed you away and made you think I didn't want this anymore. That I didn't love you. Didn't trust you…" Now, Draco looked at Harry. "I've made my choice. I don't need anymore time to think about it, to reevaluate or whatever the break was for…"
Silver eyes met green. "I never needed to think about it, I knew my answer after you walked away. But I knew you were upset with me, and hurt…I felt if I stayed longer, we'd fight and break up. I didn't want to risk losing you for good…But these last two weeks have been awful without you and I just couldn't wait any longer to tell you what I evaluated…" Draco paused.
"And what did you discover?" Harry inquired gently.
"That I'm nothing without you. You made me a better person when we ended the rivalry, and became friends. I am who I am today because of you. You are my best friend, and the man I love no matter what. And I know that I would never be as happy as I am with you with anyone else. I know that my life would never be the same if I lost you." Draco admitted.
"Tell me what you want then." Harry urged.
"I want you." Draco said. "I want us. All of us, Harry. Forever and always. I love you. I love you with everything I am and I'm not going to give you up. So you better fight like your life depends on it, and survive like you always do. Because you're really good at it, remember?" Harry ended up shrugging with a small smile tugging at his lips. "I need you in my life. I can't lose you, it would destroy me…Please be safe, and come back to me?"
Harry wrapped an arm behind Draco's back and pulled the teenager in against his figure before leaning in and kissing him deeply. The two broke the action as Harry looked into his lover's eyes. "Though a few weeks ahead of our agreed time to talk about things, it would appear we still want the same thing." Draco smiled, tears brimming his eyes and one slipping as Harry brought a hand up to wipe it away with a finger. "I'm sorry too, for everything and-,"
Harry paused to give the man a smile as he lifted his chin up a bit. "I love you too, Draco. Forever and always, no matter what." Harry told him. "I can't promise you anything more than this; you will be safe and Voldemort will not be part of anyone's future beyond today. But I will do my very best to remain safe and return to you." Harry reminded. "I gave you my word that I wouldn't do the thing unless there is no other choice. And should that come to pass, as I said…You will be safe, and that is something I can die peacefully knowing."
The blond sniffled a bit, hating that he knew it might happen and prayed it didn't. Harry kissed him again. "However, if I survive, we'll finish talking this out and I guarantee you we'll have the best make-up sex of your life." Draco's cheeks burned. "Sound good?"
"Definitely," Draco nodded. "But Harry…There really is something I need to tell you. It has to do with us and our relationship going forward…"
"What's that, love?" Harry questioned.
Harry, I-," Draco started.
He didn't get to finish as Harry's face turned to fear and Draco watched Harry switch their places. Harry's wand slipped into his hand as he turned so his back was to Draco, and he immediately brought up his wand. Confusion was cleared up for everyone on why when a blue shield lit up upon being struck with a large blast of some dark spell that came from seemingly nowhere. But then…Voldemort made his appearance.
"Harry Potter…At last the day has come for our final battle. Today, we shall find out which of us is truly the strongest." Voldemort grinned. "And look, you've assembled your armies…And there are my three traitors." He added seeing Severus, Lucius, and Narcissa. "Oh, look there's-," He stopped. "Wormtail? I thought you had died."
"He did die, my lord. I saw his body!" Bellatrix assured.
"He was brought back by death himself, for saving my life that night. I presume then…You've noticed who else returned." Harry chuckled as he motioned to his parents, Sirius, and the Longbottom's.
"Impossible." Voldemort glared. "You couldn't have summoned death unless you were its master and-,"
"Had the deathly hallows?" Harry said. "I did. The Elder Wand. The Resurrection Stone. The Cloak of Invisibility. I possessed all three not so long ago and used them to summon Death, and give him back those items. My reward for freeing him from a master was to give me back people taken by you far too early and before their time." He explained. "You've been busy, Tom…But so have I."
"I'll kill the traitors!" Voldemort growled as Bellatrix offered her arm to him as he pressed his wand to it. Only his own people suffered. Severus, Lucius, Narcissa, and Peter were completely fine. "Why isn't this working?!"
"Ah, I see you've realized my power…" Harry stated calmly. "You, Tom Riddle, are not the only Parselmouth alive." He hissed as Voldemort's entire face fell. "You're not as powerful as you think you are. I figured out your dark mark, how to disconnect it from you…How to manipulate it. Lucius and Narcissa have not been on your side since August 1995. Peter changed allegiance the night you captured me, and then he selflessly died to protect me. And Severus…Oh, he's never been yours. His loyalty has always been to the Order of the Phoenix and me." Harry continued.
"You speak the ancient tongue?" Voldemort replied. "No, I am Salazar's descendant!"
"You were…Until you lost to me over and over again, Tom." Harry stated.
"Don't call me that! I am Lord Voldemort!" The dark lord snapped.
"Which is just your actual name rearranged, you idiot." Harry sassed. "Looks like some of your followers are confused…Should I show them who you really are? How about with the same trick you showed me four years ago, down in the chamber of secrets?"
"You wouldn't dare…"
"Is that a challenge?" Harry grinned. "Oh, I love rising to those…Because I never lose."
"Boy, I'm warning you…"
Harry wordlessly cast a spell and started writing in the air, letters appearing as flames. It was written out as I am Lord Voldemort. "I heard your warning…I just don't care. I'm not afraid of you." Harry smirked at Tom as the man realized what Harry was doing. Harry swiped the wand across the letters as they rearranged to Tom Marvolo Riddle.
"And everyone knows that the Riddle's were a muggle family. You changed your name, you didn't change who you were. You can't change who you are any more than I can change the fact I became the boy who lived." Harry stated. "You're a half-blood, Tom. Just like me. You say we're a lot alike, or did last year and I get the comparison."
"Do you? I don't think so, or you would have done what I did and embraced the power and had control over your life." The man scoffed.
"We were both orphans. Both grew up being bullied and called freaks for accidental magic. Both found a home in Hogwarts. Both ended up under Dumbledore's manipulations. I get it…Truly I do…However, there's one difference between us." Harry paused.
"And what's that?" Tom glared.
"Despite everything that happened to me, I didn't turn to the dark side. I didn't gallivant around pretending to be something I'm not. See, you followed power over to what you believed was the strongest of our kind. Pure-bloods." Harry stared at him. "You think you're all powerful…Then why do you keep losing to a goddamn kid?" More than a few snorts of laughter and chuckles resonated from the light side of the battlegrounds. "A child, who I might remind you, is a half-blood." Harry paused.
"Remember this, Tom, while you keep supporting that pureblood shit…" He paused with a grin. "You thought pure-bloods were stronger than half-bloods? So why didn't you go after Neville Longbottom all those years ago?"
"The prophecy spoke of a child being born at the end of July!" Tom remarked. "That's you, Potter."
"The prophecy said the one with the power to defeat the Dark Lord would be born as the seventh month dies as in towards the when the months end, not last day of." Harry remarked. "Neville was born the day before me on the 30th, and he's a pure-blood."
"What is your point!?" The Dark Lord scoffed.
"So…if you were aiming to prove that you were stronger than a pure-blood, why didn't you go after the pure-blood child born as July ends?" Harry inquired casually. Voldemort was going to answer, then stopped as if realizing the reality of what the teenager pointed out. "You went after me because I'm a half-blood. And so are you, Tom. You decided that if you, as a half-blood, could rise to the power you did then it obviously stood to reason that the child born with the power to destroy you was also a half-blood."
Tom stared at him. "You chose me because of what we are. And yes…Your decision led to me having a similar upbringing. Except that unlike you, I didn't let what I suffered change me. I survived and thrived. I am prophesied to defeat you because I am stronger than you. I have everything you don't." Harry told him. I have friends and family. I have true supporters, followers, and allies…I am a leader, Tom. Not you."
"A leader puts their own life on the line to defend their people. A leader inspires. You fight to win. I fight to protect. You don't care who dies because you don't care about anything. I care about everyone. You're selfish. I'm selfless." Harry remarked. "I have people I care about, people I love. I have everything to lose and you have nothing to fight for but your biased ass pure-blood supremacy."
"It's not stronger than me, the half-blooded child who was protected by his mother's love and left you without a body for thirteen years. The half-blood who carried that love as a weapon to beat you at eleven years old by burning the body you temporarily inhabited. The half-blood who took on a Basilisk and stopped you from returning at twelve." Harry reminded.
"The half-blood who fought back and escaped at fourteen. The half-blood who actually kicked your ass in a duel at fifteen…" Harry paused with a grin. "The Half-Blood who escaped a house full of Death Eaters on his own at sixteen. And that same half-blood, Tom…Is me. And I am going to send you straight to hell where you belong." He said. "Remember this, Riddle…I am strong as I am because of everything you set into motion when you decided to come after a baby."
"The prophecy-," Tom started.
"Wouldn't have been a thing if you had left well enough alone! You started this whole mess, and you ultimately put your own destruction into motion!" Harry cut him off. "If you hadn't come after me, my mother wouldn't have had to sacrifice herself for me. That love wouldn't have reactivated after she was dead and rebounded your own curse back at you, ya damn fool!" Tom's eyes widened. "You gave me the power to destroy you. It's your own fault."
"If you hadn't come after me, I wouldn't have ended up the boy who lived. I wouldn't have suffered the way I did. I wouldn't have grown up alone with no one caring about me for ten years in a house where my family hated magic. I wouldn't have fallen in love with the Wizarding World when I was told I was a wizard. I wouldn't have found out the truth that some insane idiotic fool obsessed with power killed my parents to try to snuff out a baby over a prophecy that wouldn't have come to pass if the dumbass had just ignored it!" Harry stated. "I wouldn't have cherished everything I gained because I would have grown up like every other magical child. I'd be an entirely different person if you had just ignored it…"
"Prophecies are just one outcome in hundreds, maybe thousands or millions of possibilities. They are created based on the decisions made at the time. Dark Lord rising, well there's gotta be an outcome where he's defeated. His whole thing is killing muggles. Let's have it be a half-blood like himself with the power to defeat him. Obviously, this power-obsessed half-blood is going to go after him and then that kid will survive and grow up surviving everything he's thrown in order to bring this insane fool down." Harry informed.
"You did this, Tom. You are responsible for this, me, becoming as strong as I am. You gave me this power, and now…You're going to die by the very same power you gave me." The teenager said calmly. "You marked me as your equal. That's what this is," He showed his scar. "You're right…This is a battle to see which of us is truly the strongest. However…Before we start, I just wanna show you something before we begin…Before you get cocky that you're going to win and it has to do with the power you gave me, so I think you're going to want to see this…"
"Show me what." Voldemort remarked slowly.
Harry pulled five objects from what appeared to be thin air and chucked them forward at Voldemort's feet. The dark lord looked down to find a ring, diary, locket, diadem, and cup. It was new to see fear on the dark lord's face, but it was there as he realized what the objects were. "Though I hate Dumbledore for his manipulations, without his discovery of your horcruxes, you might have had an advantage. I know there were six, and I know where the last one is."
"Then you would have destroyed it already!" Voldemort glared.
"Right you are! I say we do that…" Harry pointed his wand at Voldemort, then down quickly to be at Nagini, who he stunned and grabbed with a tendril of his powers expelling from his hand as he yanked Nagini over to him.
"NO!" Voldemort yelled as Draco grabbed the fang from Severus and brought it down over Nagini's head. The serpent turned to a black dust and faded away.
"Now, we're equals." Harry's eyes narrowed. "Come on, Tom…Let's see which of us is the strongest." He grinned before flicking his wand forward and shooting a spell at Voldemort to send him flying back into a tree. "Game on. ATTACK!" Harry called.
Just like that, it started. The war between light and dark began.
Nobody was keeping track of the time spent battling and all Harry could be grateful for was that no one had been killed. Injured, sure, and they were tucked away safely in the castle under the protective watch of Poppy Pomfrey. Harry and Voldemort stayed fighting one another, but if Harry saw someone about to strike down a friend; he turned his attention to them to help. Somehow, Harry hadn't been surprised to see Narcissa taking on her sister, Bellatrix.
Lucius and Severus were teamed up back to back to handle others. The Marauders, totally not surprising, were working together to fight. Lily was handling herself, so was everyone else, but like Harry told them to; they were watching each other's backs. One thing that rang odd was Draco staying close to Severus, and the two seemed to be arguing about something. Harry wasn't close enough to hear it, but felt it was something to do with whatever Draco was telling him earlier.
"I'm going to kill you nice and slow, Potter, in front of all your friends and family." Voldemort seethed. "Death Eaters! No more dueling, killing curses all around!" Voldemort shouted.
"No!" Harry blasted Voldemort back before he rushed over to them.
"Harry, we'll never be able to handle killing curses with nothing to hide behind!" Draco said quickly.
"You shouldn't even be here, Draco!" Severus glared. "You're in far too delicate condition."
The words hit Harry. Delicate condition? The illness, no. It couldn't be that because Draco had said earlier there was something he needed to tell Harry that involved them and their future, as in eventual to come. Harry's eyes widened as he realized what it meant. Draco was pregnant. That's what Draco was going to tell him.
Harry grabbed Draco's arm to make the teen face him. "You're pregnant?" The fighting died down a bit, the news being heard by everyone that Draco was pregnant with Harry's baby. "Answer me. Is that what you were going to tell me before the Dark Dumbass showed up…Are you pregnant, Draco?"
Draco's eyes widened a bit. Harry figured it out based on what Severus said. Well, he couldn't lie. "U-Um…Surprise?" He smiled nervously.
"The hell do you think you're doing, fighting in a war while you're pregnant, Draco!?" Harry scolded him. "Of all the stupid, irresponsible-,"
"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort cast as Harry whipped around and shot a red stream to hold it off.
"No you." Harry remarked as he forced the connected blasts to shoot off somewhere else and then break off. "Do you mind? I'm in the middle of something!" He glared at Voldemort. "And you," He looked back at Draco. "Get your ass inside, now!"
"No, I can fight!" Draco argued. "I'm fine."
"I will not take chances with you or our child, Draco Lucius Malfoy! Now, go!" Harry demanded. "We'll talk about this later!"
"New target…Kill that boy and the baby." Voldemort smirked.
"Oh no you don't!" Harry used his hand to channel a stunner at an incoming death eater. "We are not doing this!" Harry put a barrier up and cut the connection to Voldemort's spell as it shot off to the side. "All of you stay back. I'll not risk anyone's life for this fight between me and him."
"Harry, you can't fight them alone!" Lily screeched.
"I won't have to." Harry held his wand up and walked in a small circle as black flames rose up around the Light fighters. "But you'll be safe, and that's all I care about."
"Harry…I-Is this spell what I think it is?" Hermione asked.
One death eater tried to cross the flames and instantly burnt to nothing. "Yes, Hermione…It's exactly what you think it is." Harry replied. "As long as you stay within that circle, they can't touch you."
"What spell is this?..." Draco asked.
"It's Protego Diabolica. Harry told us about it in his class, Draco. Remember?" Pansy informed. "Only those loyal to Harry's cause can cross safely. The rest die instantly."
"Using a dark charm, Potter? I didn't think you had it in you…" Bellatrix smirked.
"Yeah, bet you didn't think I had this in me either…" Harry thrust the wand forward as Bellatrix sort of froze in place, appearing to go gray and then Harry shot a blasting curse at her as she literally exploded into nothing but dust. "Anyone else?"
"My, my…Harry Potter, capable of murder?" Voldemort laughed.
"You have no idea what I'm capable of when you threaten my family…" Harry warned. "This is your last warning… You've seen he does nothing to protect his own as I've done for mine. I offer you sanctuary behind those flames."
"You really think you can get my followers to listen to you, Potter?" The dark lord taunted.
"I don't think…" Harry chuckled as he pointed to a few leaving the group of death eaters and walking towards the raging flames. "I know." Harry saw Sorrel and Aletha Parkinson safely cross the flames and get to their daughter, Pansy. Next was Theodore Nott Sr and his wife, Blair cross and stand with their son, Theodore Jr. After them was Lydia Zabini, Blaise's mom.
And then Francis Crabbe with his wife, Lorena along with Gregory Goyle Sr and his wife, Viola. "They know what family means and their deaths for your cause are not worth losing them. Love will always be stronger than hate, Tom. I told you before that I pity you because you'll never know love or friendship."
"I'll kill you, Potter!" Voldemort raised his wand.
"I am Harry James Potter-Snape-Black." Harry raised his wand up as a circle of black flames appeared around the remaining death eaters. "Cross that fire and you die. Try to fly out and the fire will stretch to get you…" Harry told them. "Now, it's just you and me, Tom…" He paused.
Once more, Harry and Voldemort dueled it out on their own. Spells flying left and right, but none of his side got hit because Harry had put a barrier over them, plus the defense of the fire. Voldemort and Harry were all over the place, dodging and casting. Harry knew using his wand was kind of useless; his and Voldemort's wands wouldn't let them kill one another. The two fired spells back and forth, trying to duck or step aside to miss being hit, or use a shield. It went on another fifteen minutes before Voldemort managed to disarm Harry, and snap his wand in half, now holding his own on Harry's figure.
"Now you have nothing to fight with." Voldemort told him.
"I think you forgot about one little thing," Harry said.
"What's that?" Voldemort growled.
Harry raised his hands together and fired a stream of fire at the dark lord. "I don't need a wand to channel my magic." Voldemort had dodged, but Harry was right on him by firing a blue blast at the wall they were near. "Reducto!" The wall exploded as pieces of the wall landed on Voldemort and he blasted them away with a deadly glare in his eyes. I do need to end this, though. My magic won't last forever…If I drain my core, I end up a squib or dead. I suppose that's the reality though…What we said might happen. The only way to end this. Kill him…We both have to die. Harry looked back at the people he would be leaving behind, giving them both a loving and apologetic look.
"No…" Draco whispered. "No…No! NO! Harry, don't you dare!"
"What? What's happening?" James asked.
"He's gonna sacrifice himself!" Draco slammed his hand on the barrier.
"Harry! You don't have to do this!" Sirius begged. "Please?!"
"Cub…We just got you back, all of us back together…" Remus teared up.
"Sweetheart…Let us out, we can help." Lily pleaded.
"Please?..." James stood beside his wife.
"Son…We can find another way. Don't do this…We love you too much to let you go." Severus tried. "Please? Please don't do it…"
"It has to be me." Harry told them with a soft smile. "It has to be me and you all know that deep down. It's always been me. Let me do my part…"
"Harry! Harry, you promised! You gave me your word!" Draco cried.
"That I wouldn't do this until we were out of options and we've reached that point." Harry told him gently. "I figured out what the ability was, the one he doesn't know about…It's been right in front of me the whole time. It's the one thing I have that Voldemort doesn't because he isn't capable of feeling or understanding it because he never got it. It's all of you. I've had it all along. It's family. It's friends. It's love. You are the power I have that the dark lord knows not."
At this, everyone did understand and only moved most to tears. "Neither can live while the other survives. We've always known what it would come to and I accepted that as soon as I realized it. I have to do this, it has to be me for all of you to live in peace, safe and sound." He informed then faced Voldemort now as the man was walking closer. Harry closed his eyes as he let his energy surround him. It was white and blinding as Voldemort pressed his wand to Harry's chest.
"This is the end for you." Voldemort said.
"It's the end…" Harry agreed. "For us both." Voldemort stared as Harry snatched the man's wand away and broke it in half before wrapping his arms around the man's neck.
"Wh-What are you doing?!" Voldemort yelled. "No!"
"Let's finish this how we started, Tom…" Harry paused. "Together!" The energy around Harry burst, wrapping around himself and Voldemort. The light pulsed and finally exploded as the only thing anyone heard was Voldemort screaming out before they had to shield their eyes and look away.
After a few moments, the barrier around the Light side faded, so did the flames. When the flames around the other death eaters faded too, the adults were quick to hold them in place. Looking at the place where Harry and Voldemort had been, the dark lord was indeed gone. Not even a trace of him but dark ashes fluttering away and burning into nothing. However, there was a figure on the ground, lying completely motionless and it was Harry himself.
"Son…" James and Severus said together.
"My baby…" Lily cried.
Sirius, Remus, and Peter were grouped together, bowing their heads. Sirius was the one crying, and Remus wasn't that far off from starting too. Hermione hid her face into Ron's shoulder as Luna stood with Neville and Ginny, not far from them were Hannah, Dean, Seamus, Angelina, and Alicia. Pansy was sandwiched for comfort between Blaise and Theodore while Vincent and Gregory just stood side by side, arms over each other's shoulders. Everyone stood in silence at the sight. Harry literally gave his life for theirs. The wizarding savior had died to save the world from Voldemort.
"Harry…" Draco dropped to his knees by his lover's body, trying to shake him. "Harry…Harry, come on! Wake up!" He demanded.
"Draco…" Lucius said softly. "He's gone."
"Lucius!" Narcissa snapped at her husband before going to her son's side and holding him, kissing his forehead. Draco held Harry's limp hand in his before he turned his head into his mother's shoulder and sobbed, another hand on his belly. It wasn't supposed to be like this; they were supposed to be together with a family! "Ssh, sweetheart. It's going to be alright. I promise…We'll get through this. We all will." Narcissa tried to console her distraught son.
Severus and James were both now holding Lily, who'd fallen to her knees in mourning of her son. The truth was setting in, Harry was gone.
