Sasuke's Chidori was bright and engulfing. It gave off waves of fiery heat that if you were to ever get close to it you would feel the skin on your hands begin to burn and sizzle painfully.

But Naruto didn't mind. It was bright and beautiful, and he loved it. Naruto loves Sasuke and everything about him, from his quiet nature, to their bickering fights, and his kind nature.

Although it would be surprising to some how kind Sasuke could be, some call him cold-hearted and uncaring, but Naruto knows it's not true. Sasuke comes off that way but once you get to know him, he isn't all that bad.

Sasuke shows his care and affection differently than others and that isn't a crime to do so. Despite his uncaring words to others, if you pay closer attention to Sasuke's tone and words, you will be able to notice the subtle warmth behind them.

So really, he isn't at all uncaring and non-compassionate as his appearance gives off.

Although, Sasuke is known for his subtle and calm demeanor, along with the icy coldness he exudes. The amount of emotions he is freely showing on his face at the moment was surprising, but at the same time, it wasn't. Sasuke is a human who is capable of feeling emotions and expressing them, but these emotions on his face aren't something that Naruto was or could ever be familiar with.

Anguish. Despair. Pain.

Usually, in Sasuke's facial expressions, you would see either anger, annoyance, or just a blank appearance, but these emotions that he showed now, were stunningly surprising.

Of course, Naruto hated the emotions situated on his face but, he felt lighter knowing that Sasuke could express other emotions despite the natural expressions that seem to always be around all the time.

Naruto felt his body dodge a blow from Sasuke before moving again to dodge another.

Sasuke looked so desperate and pained that Naruto felt his heart break at the sight, but there was no use in feeling this way when he could do nothing but watch out of his eyes like a bystander. He is unable to control his body as it does as it pleases.

Almost like he was possessed, or maybe being controlled, well, he is not wrong. His body was no longer his to govern and there was nothing one could do about it. There was nothing anyone could do about it. He watched them try, but it was all futile. And now, they have to do the only thing they have an option left for.

They needed to kill him.

Of course, they could lock him up and keep him alive to figure out how to help him, only if his body hadn't started to wreck Konoha village to damnation and start fighting everybody.

Even Kurama could only watch and accept what it is to be done to him and himself.

It was annoying not being able to do anything but accept it, but, they had tried and their efforts were for not. They weren't able to do anything, no matter how much they tried.

And so, all they could do was watch and wait for their death to finally reach them, which wouldn't be so far away now.

Sasuke dodged a right-hand hook from Naruto and jumped back when a leg was swung in his direction.

Sasuke's Chidori shone brightly and gave off the screams of a thousand birds. It was beautiful and frightening.

Sasuke dashed towards Naruto once again, his hand holding his Chidori stretched out to pierce through him.

But once he was close enough, he hesitated. That hesitation almost cost him his life.

Sasuke was lucky enough to have dodged at the last second because if he hadn't then he would have been pierced in the chest with a kuni.

The winds howled as dark clouds began to thicken and cover the sky. Thunder cracked as the first few drops of water fell to the ground. A few of many that soon chased after them.

The rain pelted Sasuke's and Naruto's figures as they both traded blows with each other.

A punch and then a dodge. A kick that landed painfully. A stab that never connected.

They continued to trade blows. Sasuke's Chidori was close enough to go through Naruto's chest and pierce his heart. A heart that Sasuke loved.

But seeing how Naruto was able to dodge the many other attempts, Sasuke thought that maybe this wasn't gonna be any different. He was wrong.

By some dumb luck, Naruto's foot caught onto some rubble on the ground which prevented him from dodging Sasuke's blow, which connected.

White searing pain engulfed Naruto's chest as he was given back control over his body.

Sticky red hot liquid engulfed Sasuke's hand as it continued to pierce Naruto's chest.

Even though it should have been impossible, Naruto was given some time to speak before finally being able to let go.

"S-Sasuke..." His voice was raspy and it came out as a whisper, but Sasuke heard it.

He instantly looked up to peer into cerulean eyes that were fogged and glassy. It gave Naruto an unnatural appearance.

His tan skin looked so pale, he looked sickly.

"..Naruto..." Sasuke spoke with wide eyes as he pulled his hand out of Naruto's chest before quickly wrapping his arms around him.

He lowered himself onto his knees as he held Naruto in his arms.

"*Cough Cough*, hnn, ha...S-Sasuke, i... i-it's ok-ay, 't's not your fault..." Naruto spoke shakily as blood spilled out of the corners of his lips, leaking down his cheeks before dropping onto the ground only to be washed away by the rain.

Sasuke felt his eyes burn as he shook his head.

"I-I'm so sorry Naruto, I didn't- I wanted-" He couldn't seem to get the words out before he flinched at feeling a cold hand press against his cheek, caressing it softly.

He looked down to see Naruto wearing a small smile with half-lidded tired eyes.

"'ts okay...no-t your fault..." It was getting harder for Naruto to breathe. His chest ached and throbbed, and he felt so cold. He could barely feel his limbs.

Sasuke gripped the hand on his cheek tightly. He felt tears fall down his cheeks but he was unsure if they were tears or just the rain.

He leaned his forehead on Naruto's as he caressed the hand on his palm.

Naruto's breathing became more desperate and short as more blood leaked out of his mouth.

"...Sasuke...I have to-...t-tell you something..." Naruto spoke in a tired whisper as he tried to get his breathing under control.

Sasuke didn't speak for a moment which made Naruto think that he didn't hear him. As he opened his mouth to repeat his words, Sasuke cut him off.

"..okay...what is it Naruto..."

Naruto smiled as he whispered his words to Sasuke.

"I...I-I love you..."

He finally said it, and though it wasn't in a setting or circumstance that he would have wanted, he said it nonetheless.

Sasuke sighed heavily before he lifted his head to stare at Naruto. He raised a hand to cup Naruto's cheek before caressing away the tears that continued to fill his eyes.

"You're crying, dobe.." Sasuke joked, but it lacked anything a joke is supposed to have.

Naruto only smiled sadly as he felt his body lose feeling. His eyes felt too tired to flinch whenever droplets of rain hit them. So he lay there, unblinking as tears continued to be wiped away before more took their place.

Sasuke felt warm on Naruto's cold skin. It was nice. This moment felt serene to Naruto, despite the circumstances.

Naruto felt like sobbing. Why...Why did fate have to be this way?

"I-*Sob* I'm so sorry, *Sob* I shouldn't have-" Naruto spoke through broken sobs as his body trembled and shook.

He ached all over.

Sasuke shook his head.

"It's not your fault Naruto. I'm glad you told me okay? Save your breath." Sasuke spoke his voice giving off a bit of sternness.

Naruto only sobbed as he nodded. Sasuke held Naruto tightly as he felt the teen shake and sob in his arms. Soon the sobs turned into soft breaths before finally going quiet.

Sasuke raised his head to look at Naruto's face. He noticed the slack look, the half-lidded eyes, his fogged-over cerulean colors. The tint of blue and purple that colored his lips. The blood that was previously flowing out of his mouth stopped trickling.

The lack of trembling.

Sasuke shook his head before breathing out a word of denial. He picked up one of Naruto's hands in his, squeezing it and waiting for a type of response. He got none.

"..no...no..no no no" He repeated as he gently shook and squeezed Naruto, trying to get some sort of response out of him because this couldn't be real. The blood that coated his hand that had pierced through the chest of his best friend was real. It was all real and he hated it.

The hand that Sasuke gripped, slipped out of his hold and onto the owner's stomach, limply. The body that was in his arms felt limp, like dead weight.

"No, No No No! Naruto wake up! Get up! Naruto!" Sasuke yelled as he shook the body in his arms. He got no reaction.

Sasuke soon started to sob as he pressed his forehead on Naruto's. He spoke under his breath, hoping Naruto heard him.

"I love you...please don't leave me here..."

He got no answer.
