Harper went into town later that day after she got done her chores. She wanted to get something to wear for the dinner tomorrow. Getting out of the truck, she saw Angelina and Cayden, holding hands as they walked through town.

"Hey guys!" She called running over to them. The couple smiled, happy to see her. Which was still so strange to her, having people happy to see her.

"Hey Cayden... I was going to call you later. I have something to tell you..." She told her friend. Cayden tilted his head slightly. "What's up?" He asked. She blushed and looked down nervously. "Um. Your dad came by the farm today... and he asked me out on a date for tomorrow." She told him.

Harper looked up at her friend.

His and Angelina's eyes widened. They gave each other a fearful look.

That worried Harper a bit. Was he mad that his dad asked his younger friend out? Sure, there was a huge age gap... something she never use to agree about. But there was something inside her. Something that told her to both run away and to run into his arms.

The couple freed their hands and lead Harper away to a private area.

"Look Harper... You need to stay away from him... He isn't good for you. I'm not saying that cause of the age difference. I'm saying this because I know him. He is nothing but danger. I don't want you hurt, and that's all you will get when with him." Cayden told her.

He took her shoulders softly.

"I know his past and I know him as a person." He continued. He then looked at Angelina for a moment before looking back at Harper. "He tried to take Angelina from me. He hurt her. He wants pretty things." He told her.

"I don't want you catching feelings, and then he breaks your heart when someone else comes into town." He said. "Just trust us Harper. Don't do this. It won't be good on your mental health. And I know how your mental health is important to you." Angelina told her.

Harper bit her lip, and looked down.

Was he really just using her? Wouldn't be a surprise.

Angelina, sensing her friends sadness, hugged her. "I'm sorry sweetie. I just can't let you go do this without warning you...If you want, why don't you hang out with me instead? We can go to the movies." She told her.

Harper shrugged. "I guess." The couple gave each other looks. They couldn't really explain things better. As they didn't think she could understand all of it. Of what they really were. What Connor really was.

"It'll be ok hun. Don't worry we will make everything better." Angelina said giving Harper a smile. "It'll be a great day." She promised. Harper gave a small smile.

"I should let you two get back to your date... I'll see you guys tomorrow." Harper said and stepped away.

They looked at her sadly but nodded. "I'll be there in the morning." Cayden said. Harper nodded and walked back to the truck.

She drove off thinking about things. Maybe they were right. There was a huge age difference. She was younger than his son for Christ's sakes.

She was confused and sad. But she understood their concerns and understood their want for her to cancel the date. Which she would. She was still a little down about it.

She would just have fun with her friends tomorrow.
