"CRAP, I OVERSLEPT!" Megumi shouted as she looked at her alarm clock, which read 7:46.

She had to get ready, and get to class in less than 14 minutes. At break-neck speed she got dressed and sprinted out the door.

Megumi ran to the small building where her new class would take place, threw oren the door and dashed down the hallway until she reached Room 2-E, her new homeroom.

Megumi couldn't believe that she was actually going to be late to her first class, fortunately, her first period was an auxiliary class, meaning that she had somehow wound up with a gap in her schedule during the first period of the day, an incredibly rare occurrence. However she wanted to make a good first impression and being late was not the way to do that.

Exploding into the little cooking room she yelled "I'M HERE, I'M HERE, Please don't mark me late sir"

She was met with a surprised glance from her new teacher Chef Montoya.

"Ay ay ay relajarse chica( relax girl), there's still a whole minute and a half before this period officially starts you know"

Letting out a sigh of relief she looked around the room to see who else was in her class only to lock eyes with her sole classmate, Ryo Kurokiba. Of all the people to share this class with her, it had to be him. The boy was dressed in his regular uniform sporting his signature red bandana on his wrist. Though it wasn't the clothes she was looking at, it was his shape. She was focused on his toned upper body, which embarrassingly made more than its fair share of appearances in her "less than ladylike dreams".

"Take your seats please" Chef Montoya's voice snapped Megumi out of her trance-like state

"Today's challenge is to make me a perfect Paella" The famous chef, who had instructed his student to call him "Monty", announced to his new students.

"However, you are gonna have to tie up your hair," Monty said pointing at Megumi.

" What do you mea-" she froze when she saw herself in the polished metal counter, only then did it dawn on her that she hadn't had time to do her hair this morning.

Fortunately, Megumi was able to use one of her bracelets as a hair-tie, putting her hair up into a bun. But it was still somewhat embarrassing to be seen with her hair down.

"You guys have 5 minutes to talk strategy, i'll give you the recipe i want you to use then" the teacher remarked.

Fortunately, Megumi had made paella before, and from her knowledge of her new partner, she assumed he had made it too.

"Have you made this dish before?" Ryo's intimidating yet gentle voice inquired.

"Yes, It's actually one of my favorite non-Japanese dishes," Megumi responded, trying to hide her nervousness around Ryo.

"Oh good" he responded, "Do you wanna work on the rice or the shellfish? I'd prefer to work with the shellfish, but if you want me to I'll do the rice.

"You can do the shellfish portion, leave the rice to me." She was somewhat surprised by the fact that Ryo had offered to let her cook the shellfish, it was actually kind of sweet.

"Sounds good," Ryo replied. The boy then addressed the teacher "Were ready Chef"

"Perfecto" Monty said as he handed the pair a paper with the recipe printed on it.
