Day 7 Dahlia, Rita/Veridia, 229 words, Rated G
The second Veridia came into Rita's vision she found herself tackled by the Mermaid throwing her arms around her in a hug before pulling her into a kiss.
"I got you a present!" Rita happily exclaimed the second she broke off from Veridia's lips.
"I do happen to be fond of presents," Veridia didn't let her hands come off the other Mermaid all the way, still wanting to keep some part of Rita under her just in case the Mermaid slipped away again.
It didn't work as Rita vanished from under her touch again, disappearing around the corner into the kitchen.
"I know you're not super big on land people things, but I got you these," Rita held out a bunch of flowers, wrapped in pink tissue paper and sparkling cellophane.
Coral pink and soft peach flowers were mingled in with fuzzy green leaves and tiny white flowers, many heads coming from the same stem.
"The main ones are Dahlia's, to represent a new beginning. Like us, we're starting again right?"
"That we are," Veridia took her gaze off the flowers, in particular the largest Dahlia with it's ombre pink petals made brighter by the green leaves around it. She leaned in and kissed Rita again. Each kiss felt bright and new, but also had the feeling of coming home.
"To our new beginning," Veridia whispered against Rita's lips.
