"Young man. You, too, can become a hero."

For years, Izuku Midoriya had dreamed of becoming a hero but was told time and again that it was an impossible dream. Despite being so discouraged, he never gave up and he remained determined to reach his goal. There was only one person who had ever believed in him, his childhood friend Itsuki Emiya. Itsuki's words of encouragement kept Midoriya motivated and reminded him that even when everyone else said no, he still had someone in his corner.

Years later, Midoriya's dreams were finally realized when his own idol, All Might, offered to make him his successor. Hearing All Might's words of approval and acknowledgment meant so much to him, and it was a dream come true for Midoriya. After all these years, someone finally believed in him and saw the potential he had to become a hero. All Might's words of affirmation were a powerful reminder to Midoriya that even when the odds seemed insurmountable, there was still someone who believed in him and his dream of becoming a hero.

"You really did it, I'm proud of you."

Itsuki said, kneeling down to Midoriya's level and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. Itsuki gently smiled and gave him a warm hug, letting Midoriya know that it was okay to let out all the emotions he had been suppressing.

Midoriya's tears began to flow freely as he let out all the feelings that had been building up inside of him. All the fear, doubt, and insecurity that had been weighing him down for so long were melting away, replaced by the newfound confidence in himself and his abilities. Itsuki continued to hold him tightly, encouraging him and letting him know that she was proud of him and that he could do anything he set his mind to.

Midoriya eventually pulled away, his cheeks still wet with tears, but his eyes now shining with a newfound strength. Itsuki smiled and gave him a reassuring pat on the back, a silent gesture of support that was all it took for Midoriya to finally understand how far he had come and how proud he should be of himself.

"I deem you worthy of my power. My Quirk is yours to inherit."

Both youngsters were in awe of the No. 1 Hero, standing before them. They stood there, looking at him in bewilderment, unsure of what he was trying to tell them.

"Uh?"

"Huh?"

Fouuuu???

"Wait. What do you mean inherit? Inherit what?" Midoriya asked in awe.

"You should see your face right now. Don't worry, I'm not gonna force this thing on you." All Might started laughing at them. "Listen well, young man. This is your choice. Do you wanna accept my awesome power or not? — *BLEUGHH*" He coughed blood after shouting so hard.

Both youngsters were wondering what the No. 1 Hero trying to say.

"I wasn't born with this power. It's a sacred torch that was passed on to me from someone else." All Might decided to tell them the truth about his Quirk, something he had kept hidden until now. He began by explaining that his Quirk was not something he was born with, but something he had acquired by a transfer of power. He went on to explain that he had received this power from the previous wielder of the Quirk.

"Someone gave you this Quirk? No way." Midoriya commented.

"Yes, way. And you're next. I can give you my abilities."

"Wait. Hold on, this is a lot to process. It's true that there's a lot of debate as to what your Quirk actually is. Nobody's ever figured it out. It's one of the world's greatest mysteries. People are constantly talking about it online. But, well, the idea of passing on a Quirk or inheriting it just doesn't make any sense to me." The green-haired boy started mumbling. Itsuki couldn't help but stare at him while Fou was confused about what the boy is doing.

"I've never heard anything like that before. Powers are supposed to be unique to each individual. I mean, since the first superpowers, no one's ever been able to just give someone else their power like a present. That's crazy. If this is true, it would cause us to rethink everything we know about Quirks, to begin with. All bets are off the table."

"Uh, sounds like you're overthinking this whole "inheriting" thing." All Might commented at him.

"He does that all the time," Itsuki explained. "Zuzu snap out of it." She yelled at Midoriya which startled the boy.

"You'll have to adjust your reality and accept this new truth! I can transfer my Quirk to someone else. And that's just one facet of my secret abilities."

"The true name of my power is One For All."

"One... For... All." Midoriya mumbled.

'One For All?' Itsuki thought.

"Yes. One person improves the power, then hands it off to another person. It continues to grow as it's passed along. It is this cultivated power that allows me to save those who are in need of a hero. The truth behind my strength."

"But why would you choose to give me a gift like that? What if I can't live up to it?"

"I was on a long hunt for a worthy successor. And then, I watched you jump into action as the rest of us stood idly by. You may just be a Quirkless fanboy. But you tried to save that kid. You acted like a hero."

Midoriya was about to cry again.

"Seriously! You gotta stop cryin' so much if you want my Quirk. Come on, kid." All Might joked.

"Sir All Might you shouldn't joke about that. I mean it's a lot a process to take in." Itsuki convinced him.

Midoriya wiped his tears away and stood up.

"Okay, I'll do it. Yes!" He wholeheartedly accepted the No. 1 offer.

"Are you sure about this, Izu?" Itsuki asked him and the boy nodded.

"No reluctance. That's exactly how I figured you'd respond." All Might said.

- TWO DAYS LATER- EARLY MORNING –

We can hear Midoriya grunting from afar. He was pulling an old fridge with All Might sitting on it which is too heavy for the young man. Itsuki was watching on the sidelines with Fou sitting on her lap.

"Hey, hey, hey. It's pretty comfy up on this fridge, how are you doing down there?" All Might's delighted yell soared through the air.

Midoriya couldn't take it anymore and stumbled on the ground.

"People move these every day, y'know. And most of them don't evenhave any super strength." All Might commented.

"Well, yeah, but... There's an extra 600 pounds with you sitting on top of it." Midoriya replied.

"Nah, I've lost weight, so I'm down to 560 these days. In this form, at least."

"Great, much better." Midoriya sarcastically replied. "Itsuki-chan, won't you convince him?" He looked at her begging for her help.

"I'm sorry, Zuzu. Do your best! Fighting!" She cheered for him while punching in the air.

FOUUU!!!

"See? Even Fou is cheering for you." Midoriya groaned. "And don't forget we still have to deal with your combat skills remember."

"That's overkill..." He looked back at All Might. "Why do you have medragging trash across the beach, anyway?" He asked.

"HAHAHA. Take a look at yourself. You're not ready for my power."

"But I thought you said that I was worthy!" Midoriya gasped and started screaming.

"He was talking about your body shape." Itsuki tries to explain. "Isn't that right All Might?"

"Yeah that's right, it's because of your weak body."

Midoriya looked back at him.

"My Quirk, One For All, is a whole lot to handle. The combined physicalabilities of everyone who's ever used it creates a hurricane of pure force. An unprepared body can't fully inherit it. Your arms and legs would shoot off if you tried to." All Might explains.

"Seriously? Okay. So this whole trash thing is really some kind of hardcore gym workout. And... you're my trainer."

All Might explains the state of the place they are training.

"It really is a shame this place was once beautiful, but looking at it now it's kinda sad," Itsuki commented.

"Young Emiya is right. Back then, Heroes with those who helped the community. Even if it was kinda boring." All Might continues to explain while squashing the old fridge. "You'll restore the coastline for this entire section of the beach that is the first step on your path Young man towards being a hero."

"Um... All this? But... There's so much. That's impossible!" Midoriya exclaimed.

"Young Midoriya, you wanna go to UA, right?"

"Well, yeah. Of course! You went there. So it must be the best school around, right? It's a long shot. But still. I'm gonna shoot for the moon. UA... A-And also I promised Itsuki-chan that we will enroll there together." He mumbled the last sentence while a light blush started to appear on his face which All Might took notice of.

"You've got a lot of spirit, fanboy! But, as I've mentioned before, hero‐ing isn't easy to do without a Quirk. It's not fair, but that's the reality. And UA is the hardest hero course to get into."

"So that means...that I have to prepare my body for your Quirk really fast. UA's exam is in ten months!"

All Might handed the "Daily Schedule" to Midoriya.

"Even my sleep is scheduled," Midoriya commented. "Um, this 'Combat Training' is yours right, Itsuki-chan?"

"Yeah," Itsuki replied. "But you can do it right?"

"Yeah, sure I am. I have to work way harder than anyone else to get in. So what choice do I have, right?"

And just like that Midoriya started his gruesome training. He has to wake up every morning to train, then go back to school and train again until night.

- THREE MONTHS LATER -

"What is this I heard about you overworking yourself?!" Itsuki questioned her childhood friend after hearing from All Might that Midoriya is overexceeding his body from training. Itsuki was staring down at her friend while Midoriya was on his knees.

Midoriya sighed, "It's true. I have been pushing myself too hard and All Might noticed. I know I shouldn't, but I can't help it. I want to be the best hero I can possibly be, and I want to exceed my own expectations. I know that overworking myself won't get me there, but it's the only way I know how to get better. I'm sorry for worrying you, Itsuki-chan. I promise that I won't overwork myself again."

Itsuki smiled and knelt down beside him. She placed a hand on his shoulder and said, "Izu, I understand why you feel like you have to, but please don't overwork yourself. You don't have to prove anything to anyone. You already have the potential to be a great hero, and I don't want to see you get hurt. Please, take it easy and take care of yourself."

Midoriya looked up at her with a grateful expression. He nodded and said, "Thanks, Itsuki-chan. I'll be more mindful of my body and take better care of myself. I promise."

Itsuki smiled and gave him a hug. She said, "I'm here for you if you ever need help. Just remember that you don't have to do it all alone. We're friends and we'll help each other out."

Midoriya smiled back and said, "Thanks, Itsuki-chan. I really appreciate it."' He stood up and brushed off his pants. He sighed and said, "Let's go, I'm sure All Might is waiting for us."

Itsuki nodded and they walked back to the training grounds. As they walked, she thought to herself, "Zuzu is so determined to become a great hero. I just hope he remembers to take it one step at a time and take care of his body."

- TWO MONTHS LATER –
