Settling:

When I awoke, it was still dark outside and I checked the time on my phone. It was 3AM. Max was crying so I got up and quickly grabbed him. I took off my hoodie and lifted my shirt. He latched on quickly and I sighed. He slept really good tonight. We have good nights and bad nights but for a two month old he slept good.

I put his blanket over him and covered myself and heard my stomach growl. I needed to eat. I quietly walked over to the kitchen. I looked in the fridge and found a leftover burger from dinner that I assumed Charlie made. It had a sticky note with my name on it. I smiled and pulled it out of the fridge. I struggled to open it and put it in the microwave while I was holding Max but I managed.

I sat down to eat at the table and scarfed the food down. I don't think I realized how hungry I was. I quickly finished and washed my dish and put it away. I grabbed a glass of water and headed back to my room. I burped Max and changed his diaper and put him back in his crib. I put his blanket back over him and rubbed his tummy. I got back in bed and turned the tv off. I tried to fall back asleep. I didn't until an hour later.

In the morning

The light was bright in my eyes and I rubbed them. I slowly got up and checked my phone. It was 7:30. I heard someone in the kitchen and quietly walked out of my room. Charlie heard me and turned and smiled. He was making coffee and he offered the pot. I declined because I didn't want the caffeine to affect my breastmilk. I smiled back and whispered a good morning As I was pouring a cup of juice Bella came down and she said good morning to both of us.

"So dad when are me and Kat enrolling in school?" Bella asked over breakfast (that she made for us because she knew Charlie couldn't cook). It was bacon and pancakes and it was delicious.

"Today we will head to the school and get you guys enrolled. Me and Kat need to discuss Max and how that's going to work and we need to set everything up." Charlie spoke as he washed his dish and me and Bella finished quickly and he washed those too. Me and Bella decided to get dressed and be ready to leave.

By this time we went to get ready it was 8:15 and Max was ready for his feeding. I took off my hoodie again and lifted my shirt. I looked for clothes while he fed and I made sure to switch him so he can get the same feeding on both boobs.

I still had a bit of my baby fat from having Max but it wasn't a lot. I was 110 before I had him but now I was 115. Before I had left Phoenix, the doctor cleared me for exercise so I was going to ask Charlie where the nearest gym was. I used to be able to fit Into a size 0 but now I was a size 3, which I wasn't embarrassed about Im very lucky to have Max, no matter the terrible circumstances that he was conceived in..

I shook my head to get those thoughts out of my head before I started crying. I grabbed a pair of baggy jeans and a long sleeve thermal. It was January 18th and the snow had fell last night. And Forks was also always raining and cloudy and the sun doesn't come out very often. I also pulled out a thin zip up jacket and my zip up coat to put on top.

After Max was done I did the usual and changed his diaper and burped him. I gave him his pacifier and grabbed his boppy to let him do tummy time. I made sure that he was stable and wasn't going to fall and I started to get dressed. He was in the middle of the bed and I was watching him the whole time. Tummy time was only recommended for 3-5 minutes for each session so I only let him do that for 5 minutes, and it all helped him practice lifting his head too.

I grabbed him and dressed him in a onesie that said 'momma's boy' and baby jeans. I put a thick coat on him and a cream colored beanie. I put socks and tiny converse on him. I grabbed my matching converse and we walked out to the living room. Charlie was talking with Emily Clearwater and they were sitting on the couch. Bella wasn't downstairs yet.

Emily gave me a hug and she welcomed me home. I smiled and thanked her. She asked to hold Max and I agreed so that I could put on my shoes. She cradled him and his little hand grabbed her finger and she laughed. I put on my black converse and sat down with Charlie and Emily.

"Me and Emily were just talking about you and school. I called the school before you came and they agreed to let you do dual school. Which means you're going to be going to school 2 days a week and online school the rest of the week. You have to go Mondays and Fridays and later when Max gets older we will add more school days. While you are at school, Emily has volunteered to babysit Max." Charlie said making sure I understood what he was saying. I nodded and made sure it was okay with Emily. A two month old is a lot of work.

"It's alright dear, I need the practice anyway for the future." She winked and I laughed. Charlie asked if that worked and if I was okay with leaving Max. I had never left him alone since he was born and I know it would suck but I do need to be at school. I nodded. I told Emily that I would pump for her tonight and put it in the fridge. I had used a bottle on Max and he didn't like it better than breastfeeding but he would still take it so I was grateful for that. She agreed and said she would be over at 7:00 on Monday, two days form now.

"Alright, Emily thanks for your help we got to get going, I'll see you on Monday." Charlie gave Emily a hug and Emily handed Max back to me. Charlie walked her out and I went upstairs to grab Bella. I knocked and she came out ready to go. We went and got in the car and waited for Emily to leave.

Charlie drove us to Forks high school and school had just started; it was 8:45. I got out and strapped Max to me in the baby sling. All four of us walked up to the office and was greeted by a lady sitting at the front desk. She knew already who we were. She gave Charlie a small stack of papers and he sat down and went to sign them. Charlie finished signing them after a bit and handed them to us to fill out the information that we needed too. It was just simple questions and I had filled it out in no time. I went and handed mine to the lady.

Bella is a senior, and she was going to be finishing the rest of her year in all different classes because of the different requirements to graduate but it would be easy for her because they were part of what she had learned. For me, I was still a sophomore, but in Phoenix I had taken all advanced classes and was taking classes for a grade above me. I hope that they put me in advanced classes because on the track that I was on in Arizona, I was set to graduate by the end of my junior year.

The lady looked over our papers and asked us to follow her to the Principal. The principal was a tall black man and he was really sweet. He was really understanding of my situation and made sure we were all accommodated and comfortable. He personally gave us both of our schedules and made sure to give us both maps. When we walked out, Charlie said that he liked the man.

After registration, Charlie took us to lunch at Bella's favorite diner and I sat in the car for the first 10 minutes feeding max. After lunch we decided to do our separate things. Charlie had taken off work for us and decided to go over to Harry's. I said that I would go too but I asked him if he could take me to the gym so I could get a membership as well. Bella wanted to stay at home so we dropped her off and he took me to the gym. It was easy to get my membership and I was out in 10 minutes.

As we arrived at the reservation, Jacob rolled Harry out and he greeted us. I gave Harry and Jacob a hug and Jacob immediately asked if he could hold Max. I laughed and he ran to the house to wash his hands. Charlie and Harry laughed and Charlie wheeled Harry inside. I saw Sue wave at me and I waved back. Jacob came back out and took Max. He said come on and he took me down to the beach.

There was a big box with towels in it and grabbed two big ones. We walked down close to the water but not as close as to where we could get wet. I grabbed the towels since I wasn't holding Max and put them next to each other to where they were touching. Jacob carefully sat down and I sat down next to him.

"I have a few questions if that's okay?" Jacob turned toward me and looked down at Max then back up at me. I was hesitant because I didn't know if I wanted to bring that up but I finally took a deep breath and nodded.

"Easy question first. What's Max's full name?" He asked and bounced Max as he started to get fussy. I grabbed his little hand and he squeezed it tight.

"Maxian Charlie Dwyer. Maxian was my dads middle name and the rest is obvious" I laughed and Jacob chuckled. He nodded in thought.

"Okay.. this one might be a little sensitive. Charlie didn't really tell anyone about what happened with you and said that it's up to you who you want to know."Jacob was looking me in the eye. I froze a little and didn't look back; I stared at Max as he was sleeping. He continued, "So I wanted to ask about Max's dad..."

I waited a long time before I answered. I wasn't sure if I should bring this up or not. I took a deep breathe and told him everything.
