At Devon's home, Rose was eating a sandwich when Devon entered and said,"Rose, I have a bit of a problem."
Rose turned to Devon, swallowing her food, then she asked,"What is the problem?"
"Well I just met a new voice in my head.",Devon said while sitting next to Rose. Rose raised an eyebrow then said,"You too?"
"What do you mean you too?",Devon questioned.
"Another version of me is in my head and I've been arguing with her all day.",Rose explained, the other Rose appearing beside her. The other Rose walked up to Devon and said with sincerity,"My goodness, our boyfriend is fine. Look at how his shirt clings to his muscles."
"She's next to you right now, eyeing you like a dog in heat.",Rose said, annoyed with her other self. Devon nodded hesitantly then said,"It's odd how I believe you about this when usually I'd think you were crazy."
Rose grinned smugly then she said,"So, did this other voice say anything to you?"
"Yeah it said that it wishes to be unshackled by the holy one and once that happens, it will come forth and grant me true strength.",Devon explained rather hastily. Rose's eyes widened then she said,"Okay, that's very ominous yet intriguing."
"You say intriguing, I say freaking terrifying. I don't know what this thing is or how I even got it. Not even the angel knows who or what is and he usually knows everything about this supernatural shit."
"Language."The angel commented from Devon's head.
Devon and Rose sighed, both being frustrated by their personal problems. Rose looked at Devon then she moved so she was now sitting on Devon's lap. Rose then hugged Devon and kissed his forehead. Devon hugged Rose back then he said,"It's funny how you're always so eager to get on me."
"You make me feel safe."Rose bluntly said in a caring tone. Devon smirked, then he said,"You make me feel safe too babe."
Rose and Devon then kissed each other lovingly before they moved to the couch and held each other.
In a restaurant, Adonis, Voria, and Rufus sat at a table together. Adonis looked at his two friends then he said,"Greetings Voria, Rufus."
"Hey Adonis. Why did you call us here?",Voria asked.
"I asked because I want to know something. Have either of you felt weaker since your battle with Rose?",Adonis asked in a whisper. Voria and Rufus looked embarrassed then Voria said,"Yeah, I have."
"So have I. I've tried to use my powers over lighting and I have to actually put some thought into it. Not to mention, the wounds I sustained aren't healing as fast they would.",Adonis explained.
"Same here. I can't heal as fast and I can't even sleep long enough to feel rested anymore.",Rufus explained.
"I actually feel full sometimes which is weird. I'm Gluttony, I'm never supposed to be full.",Voria said. Adonis, Rufus, and Voria gained worried expressions while thinking about how this could be happening.
Back with Rose, she and Devon were now sleeping on the couch with Rose laying her head on Devon's chest. Holly entered the home and saw the two. She closed the door then she went to the kitchen and got a pot and spoon. Holly came back into the living room before hitting the pot with the spoon several times. Rose and Devon were startled awake by this and Rose stood up while summoning her scythe. Holly put the pot and spoon down before saying,"You guys have a good nap?"
"Holly, how did you get in here?",Devon said, calming down.
"I used the spare key,"Holly casually said.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you.",Rose said, keeping her scythe ready.
"Because I came to check up on you guys and I had to wake you up in order to give you some… news,''Holly said. Rose gritted her teeth but Devon made her put her scythe away. Devon then held Rose as she tried to hit Holly.
"What news do you have for us, Holly?",Devon asked, struggling a bit to keep Rose in his grip.
"The news I have is that Mom and Dad will be visiting you soon and they'll want to spend the day with you.",Holly said, looking away from her brother. Devon's eyes widened and he yelled,"WHAT?!"
"I tried to tell them they don't need to but they didn't listen,"Holly said.
"How could they not listen? They listen to you more than they do me!",Devon said with some frustration.
"I don't know. They just told me that in two days, they're going to visit you."Holly said. Devon ran his hand through his hair while saying,"Ah man," and sitting on the couch. Rose looked at Devon then at Holly before saying,"So does this mean I have to meet you guys' parents?"
Devon immediately turned his gaze to Rose and he said,"No, no you don't need to."
"I say you do."Holly said.
"Why?!",Devon asked, turning to his sister.
"Because she's your girlfriend and you guys have been living together for a good while now.",Holly explained. Devon thought about it then he said,"Okay, while that's a good point, I think that Rose does not need to meet mom and dad."
"But I want to meet them though.",Rose said.
"No, no you don't. My parents would flip if they met you."Devon said, turning to Rose.
"Why?"Rose asked.
"Because you're basically the opposite of what our parents would consider the perfect girl for my brother. No offense to you.",Holly chimed in.
"Some taken.",Rose said while beginning to clean her nails and looking slightly offended by what Holly said. Devon stood up and he said,"Look, mom and dad don't need to visit right now. We're dealing with a lot of crazy shit currently and I don't want them getting involved in any way."
"This is Mom and Dad, they're gonna think something sooner or later dude.",Holly reasoned.
Devon groaned into his hands then he said,"Okay, I can fix this. I can make this work so I don't get killed by my folks."
Rose had a confused expression on her face then she asked,"So, is there anything I can do?"
"Eh, maybe on the day my parents come visit you guys; you wear shoes,"Holly said.
"Say that again and I will break your arm.",Rose immediately said while glaring at Holly. Holly stepped away from Rose then she looked at Devon and said,"She really hates shoes."
"She hates anything on her feet that aren't sandals or her suit.",Devon said in a deadpan tone. Holly sighed before she began smiling and saying,"Wait a second, I just thought of something."
Devon and Rose turned to Holly with inquisitive looks.
"If Rose is meeting Mom and Dad then I can give her another makeover. Ah! This is fantastic!",Holly said with excitement while jumping to her feet. She then looked at Rose,"But you need new clothes, I am certain you only have like seven outfits in there and none of them are appropriate for meeting your future in-laws."
"Wait what?"Devon questioned.
"What's an in-law?"Rose asked before Holly hauled her to her feet.
"No time to explain, we must go to the mall and get you some fashion. Come on brother! Ha ha ha!"Holly exclaimed before she made her way out the door, dragging Rose behind her. Rose looked at Devon and said with apprehension,"Devon, help me. Help me please."
Devon grimaced, then he trudged outside, picking up Rose's flip-flops and saying,"This is going to be a long day."
"That is a sad truth, my friend."The angel commented from Devon's mind as Devon exited his home and locked the door.
