He smiles and he looks cool—he's just like any other at my school.
For one moment I think this, and even when I look up to him. For as bad as he has been, he has changed.
He asks about my hand, and it's as if he really cares. I'm no reincarnation of Kikyo—I'm Kagome to him. Surely I am something different.
Could he look at me as he once looked at Kikyo? I want him to see me differently, in his own way. Could I ever be the only woman on his mind?
It's a feudal fairy tale, and I don't mind playing the princess.
He still isn't the prince I had in mind, but day by day, I realize that he'll do. Perhaps more—could he become my ideal?
