Author Notes:

Honestly, I'm not sure if this idea is original or someone else had it, but hey, I haven't seen anyone make a fic about this.

The premise is simple in a universe where the Total Drama producer didn't think the show was going to be a big hit, they gave Chris minimal resources but he still managed to make an interesting show.

Not So Happy Campers

A wooden pier overlooks the crystal clear ocean, reflecting the sun's rays. The peaceful and natural scene is interrupted by a grown man with straight black hair showing a white-toothed smile.

"We are coming all the way from Camp Wawanakwa, located in beautiful Muskoka, Ontario! I'm your host, Chris McLean," he points to himself and then to the camera, "hosting the first season of the hottest new reality TV show of the moment!".

Chris starts walking down the dock toward an old camp. "Here's the deal. We've invited thirteen teenagers to spend the next six weeks at this horrible summer camp. They will have to survive annoying bugs, disgusting food and of course each other."

As Chris makes these mentions, the cameras cut to a shot of each of the following

The scene cuts to Chris at a campfire. "In each episode, they will have to compete against each other in a series of hilariously humiliating challenges. The winners will receive immunity and, perhaps, a fabulous prize for the night. Losers will have to vote one of their own off the island. After eight weeks, the last person left will receive cheesy tabloid fame..." In his left hand, he holds magazines with scandalous headlines to attract attention. In his right hand, he picks up a small treasure chest filled with (presumably fake) gold and diamonds. "...and a small fortune." Chris tosses both behind him. "That they will probably lose both within the week."

"Who caves under pressure!" Chris clenches his fists, clearly a little irritated already. "Who will rise above it all! Find out, right here, right now! On Total! Drama! Island"

Main theme (sing it in your head)

Cameras appear all over the island: from the bushes, from the trees, knocking out families of raccoons and beavers. A clipboard shows us a long tracking shot across the island, past Chris in a director's chair, all the way down a cliff to the water.

Cameron is seen trying to get out of the water as he was drowning. A hook enters the scene and throws it at the boy into the air.

The scene changes to the surface and we see B who was making repairs to his invention.

We see Cameron fly until he falls into Jo's arms, who seemed upset since she was exercising, but the girl's focus changes when she sees Brick running and continues to let go of Cameron and leave him on the ground.

We cut to Dawn who was meditating calmly until a seagull dropped a dead fish, scaring the animals around her, making the girl sad.

The camera zooms out to show Scott laughing at this until he realizes that one of the animals was growling at him and gets scared, running away from it.

The scene changes to show Zoey and Mike in a canoe. They were both smiling at each other but they didn't realize there was a waterfall and they fell.

On a log Lightning exercised with a log. Until Mike and Zoey fall on top and the three of them fall because the old log didn't support the three of them.

The scene changes to show the confessional and how Jo and Brick continued their race.

The camera goes into the main lodge to show Chef tired of listening to Staci and putting on headphones that were in the soup, this annoying man takes a spoon and puts it in the girl's mouth to make her shut up. Right next to her Anne Maria was putting spray on her hair until the camera focused on her and she posed for them.

Now we are on the beach to show Jo beat Brick by coming in first and celebrating while Brick looked tired.

We cut to Sam who was playing video games until a yeti took his console. Sam tried to take it off but the Yeti was too big.

A hand moves the camera and Dakota is focused. She gives the camera a kiss, leaving lipstick on it that an intern cleans. She poses and is photographed by paparazzi until they are bathed by water shot by Chris, who is in focus now. He had a water gun and was flying in a hot air balloon.

A transition shows all the campers gathered together with Zoey and Mike looking away because they were nervous. The camera zooms out to show the others and how they whistle the theme song.

Total Drama Island

/

"Welcome back!" says Chris, still excited. "Our first campers are arriving at the dock right now!" He lowers his voice to say the next line "We told them they were staying at a five-star resort," Chris smiles into the camera, "so, if they seem a little upset, that's why."

A boat passes by leaving the first participant. A teenage girl walks onto the dock. It was a very masculine white girl dressed in a sweatshirt, who threw her luggage, had a frown on her face and had an unfriendly attitude.

"We are going to stay here, I thought it would be a resort not a dump."

"Yes, I know, but it is what it is," the host chuckles. Jo rolled her eyes and grabbed her luggage and walked to the other end of the dock. "Well, at least this will be better for my training." The 'Take-No-Prisoners Jock-ette' says to herself.

Another boat passed, leaving a pale-skinned red-haired teenager in a white T-shirt and with a frown just as frowning as the previous participant. "Scott! how are you"

"Is this the place we are going to stay?" asked. "You can be sure of that," Chris responded with finger guns.

"Good," the redhead smiled to the surprise of the host. Scott walked and stopped next to the Jockette.

"Stay out of my way if you value your kiwis."

"Right back atcha." The 'Devious' answered before sniffing one of his armpits.

The third boat passed, leaving a contestant who seemed friendlier than the other two. "Zoey, nice to see you" The girl had her hair dyed with an unnatural red along with a red top and as a highlight she had a flower in her hair.

"Oh thanks, nice to meet you, I liked your ice skating program"

"Thanks. I knew I rocked that show." Chris says happily.

Zoey grabs her luggage and joins the other two.

"Hi!, nice to meet you both." The 'Indie Chick' said excitedly but neither of the two who were there responded to her. Her spirit fell and he just stayed next to them.

The next participant arrives at the dock, his outfit was simple, he wore a blue shirt and a pair of jeans. "Welcome, Mike!"

"Hello everyone," the boy greeted.

"Hi! I'm Zoey, pleased to meet you." Mike approached the girl to shake hands. "Nice to meet you too" The 'Romantic Guy' smiled at her.

The next boat arrived and a boy jumped out of it "Sha-YEAH! Lightning is here, you can leave because here is the winner"

"Lightning, nice to see you dude"

The 'Athletic Overachiever' joins in with the others while kissing his biceps. Jo rolls her eyes at this.

Next boat shows up with a guy wearing cadet clothes in it as he grabs his luggage and heads to where Chris is standing.

"Brick, good to see you."

"Thank you sir, I plan on winning this game sir." Brick said, saluting.

"Calm down dude, go with the others," the host pointed out.

The next boat arrived with a teenager who was quite tall, wearing a vest along with a cap on the back.

"B my friend, The Beast" Chris said excitedly pointing at B.

The 'Strong Silent Genius' just returned gun fingers to the host and joined in with the group.

"Hm weird, another ship was supposed to come right now," Chris said to himself.

"Unfortunately it couldn't be like that," a voice coming from the group of boys intervened. Everyone was scared when they saw a pale, blonde girl, she was the smallest of the group.

"Dawn? but what? Where is your boat?" Chris asked, scared.

"Oh yes I told him not to worry and he could take the day off, his aura was too stressed."

"But how did you get here?" Jo asked, trying to hide her fear.

"Oh…. I take a shortcut," the girl said without waiting for a response. The others moved away from her with caution and terror on their faces, The 'Moonchild' did not seem attentive to that.

"Well let's continue…Dakota like-" before he can speak, Dakota interrupts him.

"Hello friends, here is the one and only Dakota." The blonde girl in a pink outfit greets the camera and poses for it. The girl walks along the dock as if it were a catwalk until she joins the others. Her attitude changes when she notices the camp.

"Wait! But it was supposed to be a resort, I can't stay here" the blonde complains.

"Oh yes you can, your contract says so," said the host, taking out the contract papers. The 'Fame-Monger' crossed her shoulders and complained in a low voice.

Soon another boat shows up with a tan girl with large poofy hair on it. "Aw, yeah, three more coats oughta do it." she was spraying her hair but once she took a look at the island, she was disgusted. "Wait, where is the resort?!" The girl asked angrily.

"Not here that's for sure, Welcome Anne Maria," Chris laughed to himself.

The 'Jersey Shore Reject' only joined the others with a scowl.

After that, a pudgy girl was next to arrive on a boat and when she stepped on the boat, she smiled at Chris. "Did you know my great great great Uncle Rupert invented summer camps before that people didn't know what to do in the forest."

"Welcome Staci," Chris said with a bit of annoyance.

The 'Compulsive Liar' walks down to the end of the dock and another boat shows up carrying the scrawny teenage boy in a red hoodie. "Cameron, what's good?"

"Fresh air, a lake, birds." Cameron said happily.

Jo and Scott snickered. "Cameron, you seem to be quite enthusiastic." Chris said with a raised eyebrow.

"I spent most of my life in a bubble." Cameron explained, "I don't get out much."

"So a bubble boy? That's great" Jo intervened.

The 'Wide-Eyed Bubble-Boy' walked to the end of the dock ashamed.

Soon another boat shows up with a man in glasses and curly hair "Hey, nice island" he said excitedly when he looked up from his console.

"Thanks Sam." Chris smirked pridefully, "Alright campers. Now that all of you are here, it's time to head to the camp." The 'Nice-Guy Gamer' se junto con los demás.

"First thing's first!" Chris explained, happy to get back on track. "We need a group photo for the promos. Everyone, on the end of the dock!" He waved the thirteen campers over before taking out a camera and jumping up to the bow of the ship.

The teens arranged themselves in a half circle, from right to left was Anne Maria posing for the camera. Mike, with his hand on Zoey's shoulder, waved nervously at the camera, Lightning stood in a victory pose, ahead was Dawn who was smiling at the camera while she had her hands in the position of meditating, she also raised her feet to not to look so small, B just looked at the camera while hugging those next to him, Cameron was on B's back waving at the camera, Sam still had his console in hand but looked at the camera giving him a smile. Brick gave a salute while Scott put two fingers above his head, Jo still frowned.

On the ground was Dakota posing for the camera, Staci was on the left waving at the camera.

"Okay!" Chris called out. "One! Two! Thre-," he paused a moment, "oops!" The group's smiles faded. "Okay, forgot the lens cap!" the host explained, pressing the button to remove said cap. "Okay, hold that pose! One, tw-" The campers kept their smiles on through the second interruption. "Oh! No wait! Card's full! Hang on..."

"Hurry up, Mclean!" Jo shouted. "We don't have all day."

"Got it!" Chris announced at last. "Okay! Everyone says, Wawanakwa!"

"Wawanakwa!" The campers cried like one. Chris took the photo and the campers relaxed.

"Alright campers. it's time to head to the camp." The host announced.

/

"This is Camp Wawanakwa, your home for the next eight weeks!" Chris began. "The campers sitting around you will be your cabin mates, your competition, and maybe even your friends, ya dig?" The camera cut to shots of a few groups of campers during the exposition. "The camper who manages to stay on 'Total Drama Island' the longest, without getting voted off, will win one-hundred-thousand dollars!" The music became triumphant for just a moment while the prize was announced.

"Wait, I won't have my own room?" Dakota asked terrified.

"No! Girls get one side of each cabin, and dudes get the other."

""Here's the deal!" Chris said, drawing the attention of both camera and cast. "We're gonna split you into two teams. If I call your name out, go stand over there." He pointed to a spot off-camera.

Before he said a name, Cameron raised his arm. "Yes? Cameron."

"Well, we are an odd number of participants, so a team will have one more member, wouldn't that be a bit unfair?"

"Yes, it would be but unfortunately participant 14 could not get here due to health problems. So we will have to make do with what we have."

"Ahora como decía, Staci, Jo, Mike, Lightning, Sam, Anne Maria y Scott. From this moment on, you are officially known as," a guitar riff was played as the banner unfurled, revealing the silhouette of a gopher in a fighting stance. "The 'Screaming Gophers'!"

"Sha-Sweet," Lightning exclaimed.

"The rest of you, over here!" Chris beckoned the remaining campers. Once again, the camera cut to each camper as they were named. "Cameron, Zoey, Dawn, Dakota, Brick y B."

As the camera focused on the new team, Chris threw a salmon-colored banner to B." You guys will officially be known as," a more orchestral riff was played for the second unveiling, showing the emblem of an angry fish. "The 'Killer Bass'!"

"That is nice… I guess" says Zoey.

"Alright campers!" The music picked up as the camera switched back to the host. "You and your team will be on camera in all public areas during this competition." The scene transitioned via static to Chris sitting in what appeared to be a large outhouse. There was a skull and crossbones carved into the back wall, and a few flies buzzing around. "You will also be able to share your innermost thoughts on tape with video diaries, anytime you want. Let the audience know what you're really thinking." He winked. "Or, just get something off your chest!"

BZZZZT

Zoey was in the confessional "Wow, I can't believe I'm here." Zoey began excitedly before growing nervous, "I hope they all like me, I could use a few friends, or friends period. Am I trying too hard? You like me right?" She ended her confession with a desperate smile.

BZZZZT

Mike found himself in the confessional playing with toilet paper "So um... Zoey… Nice girl… Okay, super nice. I wonder if she'll go out with a guy like me. I know it's a bit quick but I think I got a crush. I just hope my condition doesn't ruin everything for me again." the boy let out a sad sigh.

BZZZZT

"Wow this seems awesome dude" It was Sam's turn in the confessional. "I just hope I don't get cut first, that would be lame." After this he returned to paying attention to his game. But if I stick it out long enough to get cut sixth or even seventh, how cool would that be, huh?

BZZZZT

"All right. Any questions? Cool. Let's find your cabins. Gophers, you're in the east cabin. Bass, you're in the west." Chris said happily before directing the cast to their new sleeping arrangements.

The Gopher girls enter the cabin. "Arhg!" Anne Maria complained. "This is not a place for me."

"Move poofhead" Jo pushed Anne Maria.

"Hey watch it blondie!"

"My great great great Uncle Victor invented cabins before him, People got wet from the rain." Staci said entering the cabin, the other two girls looked at her with tedious faces.

"And my great great great Aunt Jennifer invented bunk beds. Before her, people used to sleep on the floor." Staci said happily. Anne Maria sprayed her with her spray making her fall. Jo just smiled at this.

With the Bass girls, Zoey seemed a little nervous. "Well, this seems comfortable."

"Comfortable? This is just" Dakota couldn't find the words and just groaned in frustration and left the room.

"Being here will be good for her, I just hope it doesn't have to be the hard route," Dawn mentioned. Zoey looked at her curiously.

"Where are the outlets? I need to fix my make up" Dakota asked when she left the cabin.

"There are some in the communal bathrooms. Just across the way." Chris explains.

"Commu- are we going to wash together!" the blonde exclaimed in disgust. Chris just nodded with an evil smile.

Dakota just let out a sigh and returned to the cabin.

On the boys' side, Bass Cameron was pulling his luggage with quite some difficulty. "Would you like help, teammate?" Brick asked him.

"Oh yes, thank you very much." Brick took the luggage and threw it on Cameron's bed but he didn't realize that the boy still had his luggage making it fly.

"Oh sorry, that wasn't my intention."

"Don't worry, I'm fine, I've never jumped on a bed before," said the bubble boy excitedly.

A scream is heard on the Bass girls' side, several came out to see what was happening.

A cockroach was walking through the cabin, Dakota screamed clinging to Zoey who looked bewildered.

"This is serious?" Jo asked with annoyance.

"Just step on it" said Anne Maria, the girl tried to step on the cockroach but couldn't hit it.

"Wait!" Dawn shouted, "Come here little creature" the girl crouched down and put her hands out for the cockroach to climb on. The cockroach listened to the moonchild. "Oh don't worry, you'll be fine with me," Dawn calmed the cockroach by cuddling it.

"Weirdo," Anne Maria blurted out before leaving the cabin with Jo.

The thirteen contestants stand in single file inside a ramshackle cabin. A burly man with popped veins in his neck was giving them orders. He looks more suited for the army than for a summer camp kitchen.

"Listen! I serve it three times a day and you will eat it three times a day!" he looks sideways at the teenagers. "Take your tray, get your food and sit down now!" The kitchen rumbles with the volume of his voice.

"Excuse me, I have a specific diet so-" Before Dakota continued, Zoey grabbed her shoulder to stop her from talking because of the chef's angry face. "I… just" Dakota and Zoey quickly walked away and sat together at one of the tables.

"Sha-Protein" Lightning shouted excitedly.

"Eh, excuse me, but I think this food doesn't look good to eat, I think with a little more cooking" Cameron is interrupted by the Chef, the chef places more food on the boy's plate. "Go to your table dwarf! and eat, you need it" He shouted, scaring Cameron. The boy ran to his table in terror.

Summoned by the delicious sound of tortured teenagers, Chris entered the lodge. "Welcome to the main lodge!"

"Campers! The time has almost come! Your first challenge will begin… Tomorrow!" The Host announces. Many campers let out sighs of relief.

As Chris leaves the lodge, everyone talks among themselves, speculating what their first challenge will be.

"What do you think will be our first challenge?" Zoey asked.

"I guess it will be something simple, it's the first one" Brick comments.

"Yes... I don't think that's going to happen, his aura tells me that it won't be something tiring." Dawn interjected. Half the table looked worried at this. "Like what?" Cameron asked terrified. "Well I don't know that, but the fatigue is clear." the girl replied calmly.

"Hey, don't worry, I'm sure that with teamwork we can get through this," Chris encouraged the others.

Zoey and Cameron smiled back along with B and Dawn while Dakota looked more worried than the rest.

/

It was night and everyone was already in their respective cabins.

Chris stands in front of the camera "And with that ends the first episode of Total Drama Island, which team will be the winner, who will be the first eliminated. All your answers will be answered in the next episode of Total Drama Island!"

Author's Notes:

Well, here is the first episode of this series.

I'm going to explain some things.

The challenges were chosen for those that I believe are least expensive.

I decided to use the smallest cast because it seemed best to me, I had planned to use Molly but it wouldn't make sense to use the revenge cast since there would be 14 like Action (that's why I made a reference to her).

I already have the elimination order. And by the way, the Teams were randomized since it was not the same method used in ROTI, and I don't have a clear way of knowing how Chris ordered the teams. I decided to leave it random for more variety. They may have been somewhat unbalanced but I will make it work.

Well that's all I hope you liked it and please review I love reading your opinions.

Killer Bass: B, Brick, Cameron, Dakota, Dawn, Zoey.

Screaming Gophers: Anne Maria, Jo, Lightning, Mike, Sam, Scott, Staci.
