Chapter five:
The three are chilling out in the living room, especially since morning patrol and training are canceled today.
Leo is laying on his stomach on the couch, his legs draped over Raphs lap as the other is sitting beside him on the couch, his head resting on his folded arms on the cushion. He has a soft blanket on him that Raph got before they had settled down. His eyes closed currently.
Raph is giving loving rubs on Leo's shell through the blanket. He's more focused on Leo than what Mikey is doing.
On the other hand Mikey is sitting on the floor in front of the TV, making sure to not be too close as he is further back towards the couch area, playing a video game quite focused on it.
Raph can't help a smile at how beautiful Leo is even just laying here enjoying shell rubs. He feels so lucky to have been able to get a mate such as Leo. His heart so full of love for the other turtle that his whole chest feels warm. He can't bring his gaze away from his wonderful mate.
"I'm going to get something to drink!" Mikey announces pausing his game with a slight sigh.
"Okay." Raph responds not really caring as his eyes don't even shift away from Leo.
Mikey heads off to the kitchen with that.
Raph shifts his shell rubs a little upwards instead of just in the middle of Leo's shell. He rubs the spot that would be between the shoulder blades on humans.
Leo lets out a barely audible churr at the sensation getting a slight chuckle from Raph. He doesn't pay mind to that as his churr continues as does Raph's rubs.
Raph is happy to be able to give his mate some comfort. He keeps going slightly glancing up as Mikey returns. He turns away back to focus on his mate as the youngest starts his video games again.
Elsewhere...
Donnie's walk is certainly not straight however he does manage to keep up a good pace.
Angie is walking beside him making sure that he is indeed okay as they go.
Donnie gasps as he can see the familiar city appearing into view. "New York!" He picks up the pace not really feeling the soreness in his excitement. He hears Angie following after at about the same pace. He does glance back to ensure that Angie isn't falling behind.
The two slow to a stop at the city edge to slightly catch their breaths.
Donnie can't help noticing Angie looks into the city nervously. "Angie?" His inquiry gets his mate to turn to him. "It'll be okay. My family will love you." He hopes that this will help the other feel better. His heart hurts a little seeing Angie like this.
"It just feels weird." Angie breathes out looking to the city once more. "After all this time avoiding the city I am suddenly entering it. It's just old instincts wondering what I'm doing." He turns to a worried Donnie giving him a smile. "I'll be okay. I just will need to get used to it."
"You sure?" Donnie gets a nod to his question. "Alright then." He reaches over gently taking Angie's hand into his own.
Angie interlaces their fingers.
"Let us go. Just follow my lead." Donnie instructs getting a nod of understanding. He leads the way with Angie right at his side. He feels good stepping into the city once more. He takes it at a slightly slower pace than he'd like to do so for Angie's sake. He keeps a slight eye on the other while he leads him through the city. He stops at a manhole cover letting go of Angie in order to lift it out of the way. "Down here. It's okay. I'll be right behind you. I just need to make sure that it's closed behind us."
Angie nods and approaches the open manhole cover. He follows Donnie's instructions to be able to get down the ladder.
Donnie makes sure he gets down safely before following. He makes sure to close the manhole cover on his way down. He lands beside Angie in the sewers. "I know it doesn't smell the best." He mentions with a chuckle at Angie's slight nose wrinkle. He is used to it however he is aware how it ca be unpleasant to some. "It'll smell a lot better when we reach the lair. Come." He leads the way along the paths as Angie follows right behind him. His heart beating faster in excitement the closer they get to the lair. He hopes that his siblings are home and not on a mission or something. He briefly pauses at the front entrance to the lair. He glances to Angie who seems to be doing better as this area does smell better than the rest of the sewer.
Angie glances to him getting an assuring smile. He smiles softly back before moving closer to Donnies back.
Donnie turns back to the door and opens the door heading inside after opening it. He sees all three of his brothers hurry to their feet looking to the entryway expecting an enemy. He takes a few steps further into the lair towards them in the living room.
All of their eyes widen upon seeing him before rushing over towards him.
Donnie is quickly embraced in a hug with Mikey being the one loudly sobbing. His arms are pinned so he can't hug them back. "Hey. Sorry about worrying you all." He greets them with himself feeling happy to be home.
It takes a long few moments before the three pull away.
Raph and Leo wipe away any remaining tears.
Mikey sniffles before hurriedly doing the same.
"How did you survive?" Raph inquires looking Donnie over from where he stands. "We thought you were dead."
"When that cave in happened I was only knocked out. Luckily I managed to not get crushed by it all." Donnie really does feel lucky that he had avoided that from happening. "But I wouldn't have gotten out of those dark tunnels if I didn't have some help." He turns back to Angie before putting an arm around him bringing him to his side. "This is Angie."
"Hi." Angie waves with a slightly nervous smile.
Leo approaches Angie first. He gives him a smile. "You helped Donnie to get out of those caves. You have our gratitude. Thank you." He offers a hand to Angie who takes it giving a slight shake.
"It's no problem. We really helped each other to get out of there." Angie responds to Leo as they let go of each other's hands.
"His family left. Thinking he is dead. They lived outside of the city in a makeshift home in nature." Donnie explains to his brothers. "He doesn't have anywhere else to go. And I am not going to leave him out there all alone."
"He is free to live with us." Leo agrees with the other two showing their approval for this.
"Thank you. And you don't need to worry about where I'll sleep. I can sleep with my mate." Angie leans closer to Donnie.
"That's great!" Raph mentions as the three quickly catch on that Donnie and Angie decided to start dating.
"Aw man!" Mikey lets out a sigh getting everyone to turn to him. "I'm happy for you two!" He is grinning which does show his happiness that Donnie found a mate. "It's just now I'm the only one who doesn't have a mate yet."
"You'll find someone." Leo tells Mikey and Donnie blinks at him. He leans against Raph who proudly puts an arm around his waist.
Donnie smiles at this. He really thinks that the two of them do make a good couple together. "I'm glad that you two can be happy together." He mentions to them who look appreciatively at him for it. "I want to show Angie around then take a nap. All that walking has gotten me really tired."
"We can do a tour later." Angie mentions clearly worried about his mate. "Let's get you some rest."
"Yes. As much as I'm sure we all want to hang out together with you back, it is important to get the rest you need." Leo nods his agreement so Donnie takes Angie to his room.
Angie looks around a little in wonder as they enter his mates room. He looks at the bed Donnie crawls onto before joining him. "Huh. It feels different to the nest but still nice." He lays beside Donnie snuggling into his side as Donnie lays on his back.
"It is a nice bed." Donnie yawns and Angie gently uses his hand to shut the genius's eyes. He chuckles warmly. "Okay, okay. I'll get some rest." He finds sleep comes to him easily as his tiredness really catches up to him. He hears Angie give a soft good night before he passes out.
The next day...
They are all gathered in the living room as the others listen to Donnies tale.
Donnie of course leaves out the sex part with Angie. He doesn't think that his family needs to know about that.
"You can really glow?!" Mikey gasps leaning slightly forward in excitement after Donnie finishes his story.
Angie nods his head and closes his eyes glowing for a few moments to show them. He opens his eyes after letting his glow fade.
"That's so cool!" Mikey mentions what the three are currently thinking.
"It's nothing really." Angie chuckles a little embarrassed at how cool he seems for being able to glow.
"We sure have a lot to learn about you. Even so we welcome you into our family." Leo mentions causing Angie's eyes to shine in happiness at him.
"Thank you so much." Angie dips his head in his thanks before raising it to share a smile with his mate.
"Have you ever seen a skateboard?" Mikey's question brings Angie's attention to him.
"A what?" Angie tilts his head causing Mikey's eyes to widen.
"What's a..." Mikey stops himself as if reminding himself that Angie came from the wild not the city. "You have to see it! Come on! I'll even teach you to ride it!" He hurries off and after Donnie nudges Angie encouragingly said other goes too.
Donnie watches them hurry off. He is glad to see the two of them be able to match each others energy so well. He knows that they'll get along great.
"Donnie." Raph speaking up gets Donnie to turn back to him. "I know you just got home. However there is something we were hoping you could look into at some point. It's not a rush."
"What is it?" Donnie slightly tilts his head in curiosity at what it could be.
"Would you be okay with researching into a way for us to be able to have kids?" Raph question does take Donnie a little off guard.
"Maybe it's too soon." Leo mentions worriedly as he glances to his mate.
"No. It's okay." Donnie assures Leo bringing attention back to him. "I think it is a worthy thing to look into. Who knows. It could be something me and Angie eventually will want. Researching it for you two will save me time if that time comes further down the road." He sees them glad to hear that he will look into it. "For this to work one will need to be a mother like part. Whether I find a way for us to get pregnant or if I manage to find a way to make eggs in a tube, we will need one I can use as a mother and one more like a father."
"I'll take the mother role. We've talked about it a bit before." Leo admits so Donnie nods his head to this.
"Both of you come to my lab." Donnie gets up. "I'll start with some samples of a few things to get things started."
...
Leo is in the bathroom in the morning before anyone else is awake. He's been feeling a bit off and is hopeful. It's been four months since Donnie came home, and two months since he found a way for Leo to be able to get pregnant by changing his genes a little; Which will make his body adapt for half a month in order to be able to reproduce with another male. He silently admits he only listened to about half of the whole science thing Donnie went on before doing it.
Angie has settled in pretty well becoming like another younger brother to the family. He and Donnie's relationship is quite sweet as they hang out together a lot. He sometimes even distracts Mikey if Donnie has important work to do, and Mikey wants to go in to distract him.
Leo feels his heart skip a beat at the pregnancy test, one Donnie made to suit their differences from humans, which reads as confirmation. He is pregnant by two weeks. He stays sitting on the floor still not able to believe that it actually happened. He lets the news fully sink before he gets up. He hurries to his room where Raph is still asleep on his mattress. He sits next to the other on the bed gently shaking him. "Raph. Raph, wake up."
Raph groans before slightly blinking an eye open. "Leo?" He groans closing his eyes tiredly. "Is everything okay?"
"Get up. You have to see this."
Raph lets out a small sigh as his mind takes a moment to wake up. He finally sits up taking the test Leo hands to him. "Alright. Let's see what you want me to check out." He looks to it reading what it says. "So this says positive, two weeks." He is quiet for a moment as his brain processes what that means.
Leo waits for Raph mind to catch up. His tail wagging excitedly.
Raph suddenly looks more awake and his eyes widen. He turns to a grinning Leo. "You mean it?" He hugs his mate as soon as the other nods his head. "We did it! We're going to be parents!"
Leo hugs Raph back with a happy chirp.
Their family was going to grow and they'll have little ones to train like Splinter did them.
The two couldn't be happier, and know that their family will be happy of the news.

Yeah this was the planned ending to this story. So I decided to stick with it. I could do a follow up of adventures with Angie in the family if I come up with enough for it.
