Shenanigans
Later that same night, Lizzie and myself had returned back to the house with the fruits of our labor. Lizzie giggling the whole time. I just shook my head and laughed. I went and let my pups out while Lizzie set up. I come back into the house and see Lizzie with a red balloon between her lips being deflated as she inhales the helium we stole. I grab a blue balloon, fill it up from the helium tank, and inhale.
After a few minutes of helium induced conversations and laughter, there is a knock on the door. Lizzie ran downstairs to answer. She inhaled some helium then opened the door, "Yes?" Lizzie was hiding half-way behind the door since she had no pants on. Before anybody could answer, I came downstairs, "Lizzie, you can't be answering the door like that." She looked back at me offended, "What? On helium?" I got closer to her, "No, without pants." Lizzie whined, "But I just took them off."
I roll my eyes as I point to the stairs, indicating for her to go put some pants on. I turned to the four guys standing at my door, snickering when I noticed Paul and Marko trying to peek over my shoulder at Lizzie. I call back to her, "And slow down on the helium. Your lips are blue." She inhaled more helium, "No they're not." Then she saw her reflection in a mirror hung on the wall near the stairs, "Yes they are." I heard her coughing as she went up the stairs.
Paying attention to the Lost Boys, "Evening gentlemen, how can I help you?" David spoke for them, "We are trying to understand something. May we come in?" I sigh, "Are you going to behave?" Paul and Marko shook their heads, "No." I snorted, "At least you're honest. Let me try that again. Are you going to hurt me or my friend?" All four shook their heads, so I invited them in.
I guided them to the sitting room upstairs. Lizzie had rejoined us wearing boy shorts and sat down on one of the armchairs. I crossed my arms, "We're listening." David seemed irritated, "When the four of us saw you both earlier tonight we felt like we knew you." He pointed to me, "You mostly. But we don't remember meeting you." I bit my lower lip and nodded, "Ok, this may be hard to believe. But you do know me, you only met Lizzie a couple days ago."
"Explain. Because we seriously don't remember that," David was getting annoyed. I had to hold in my laugh while Lizzie scolded me, "Not the time for name puns." I knew she was right so I continued, "The reason you feel like you know us but don't remember meeting us is because we're stuck in a time loop. This is the third time we have repeated the span of time."
None of the vampires believed me. "Yeah, right," Paul scoffed. I rolled my eyes, "Have you met Michael yet? Or has Star made googly eyes at him?" They just stare at me. "How do you know that?" Marko asked. "Like I said. We have lived through this already. We're stuck at this point. Lizzie and I are trying to figure out how to stop the rewinding, so to speak," I uncross my arms.
The whole time, Dwayne has stayed quiet until now, "What has happened before? What's different?" I explain as much as I can, "The original timeline, you four die at the hands of the Emersons and Frog brothers. The past couple of times, the Emersons and Frogs have died, along with Star. Then we wake up and the timeline has started over again with the Emersons moving in next door." I point in the direction of the house next door. Then I asked, "How did you find us?"
"We may have followed your scents. They're very unique," David answered. I file that away for later and ask, "So, what else do you want to know?" Paul pointed to the entertainment center, "What's all this? I don't think any of us have seen anything like this stuff."
I smile, "That's the other thing. Lizzie and I are not even from this year, let alone this dimension." I point out each thing, "This is my TV, surround sound, and gaming systems. Basically video games can be played at home in the future. Wanna see?" Three of them nod enthusiastically, David just barely nods. I turn to Lizzie, "Mortal Kombat." She scoffs, "Like you have to ask." The two of us proceed to play several rounds of Mortal Kombat 11. The vampires were totally engrossed and occasionally applauded during Fatalities.
They left before the night was over so as not to burn in the sun. Lizzie and I talked about working on the movie's coding. We were determined to get out of this loop. She had brought up an off-the-wall idea, "What if we created a code to transport us to another dimension? Maybe TVDU or TeenWolf?" I snorted at the idea but didn't shoot it down, "Let's get out of this loop first." We went to sleep with the thought of the Lost Boys causing mayhem in other universes.
The next night, Lizzie, Sirius, Regulus, and I went to the boardwalk to hang out. We were walking to the area where the Lost Boys normally park their bikes. I had felt off the whole day. Lizzie gave me a 'I'm concerned' look. I can see we are close enough to the Lost Boys they'd be able to hear us talk. I sigh, "You know it's gonna be one of those days when the voices in my head are arguing, my imaginary friend is running with scissors." I look up and down the walkway like I'm following someone running then continue, "And one of my personalities has wandered off."
Both Lizzie and I could hear Paul and Marko laughing hysterically. David raised an eyebrow as we stood near them. I roll my eyes, "We're less likely to be bothered if they think we're with you guys." As soon as I said that, a group of punks moved past us. One of them whistled and said, Damn, baby. Why don't you lose the chumps and come hang out with some real men?" Lizzie scoffs, "Dude, your entire group shares two brain cells and they're both fighting for third place."
The vampires lost it, they were laughing so hard. We could all tell the insult flew over their heads but they can still tell they were insulted. The only woman with them popped her gum as she sneered, "Listen bitch." I cut her off, "Oh no, honey. Let me make this as monosyllabic as possible." The big words stump the punks as I continue, "We don't care. So, move along." I wave them off and then ignore whatever they were going to say next.
The Lost Boys stood in front of Lizzie and I as a way to, not only intimidate them but to show they will fight them. Sirius and Regulus also stand guard, growling at the punks. The group took the hint and walked off but not without one of them saying, "This isn't over you dumb bitch." The vampires made a note to eat them later.
The rest of the night went pretty smoothly. Until Star and Laddie joined us. The girl couldn't stop staring at myself and Lizzie in pity. Like we didn't know that we could be prey to the vampires. Lizzie and I said our goodbyes and watched them ride off the boardwalk. I saw Michael watching all of us, "He really creeps me out." Lizzie knew who I was talking about, "If he keeps it up, I'm going to gouge his eyes out." We laugh as we also leave the boardwalk and go home. Time to work on the code.
Over the next few nights, Lizzie and I worked on turning The Lost Boys movie into code using various programs like C++, HTML, Java, and the such. Once the code was written, we ran it through Bootstrap to find mistakes, or glitches that would show up as red lines. Over 1 million lines of code to sift through. Luckily, we only had to concentrate on the ones that turned red, which was a little over 150,000. We look at each other, "Going to be a long night. Need coffee."
Myself and Lizzie went to an all night diner and got some much needed hot coffee. Coming back home to the vampires waiting inside the sitting room was unexpected. Especially with the risk of the sun rising. "You guys alright?" I asked as I sipped my coffee. David was rubbing his gloved hands together, "How long does Star deny to feed?" "She never does. She convinces Mikey to kill you all. They never figure out Max is the one they need to kill to be freed. Not until they've already killed you guys. However, we know of the timeline in which everything happens so it gives us an edge. So far, everything has played out the same," I tell the group.
Noticing the night is coming to an end, "You guys are welcome to stay here since the sun will be up soon. All of the bedrooms have black out curtains to keep sunlight out. Unless you don't want to and have enough time to make it back," I suggest. David nods, "We'll stay. Too risky trying to beat the sun." I nod and then show them to the guest rooms. We all head to bed afterwards.
AN: This story is about done. I may have hinted at how it is going to end. We shall see.
