Hey, so, uh.. Sorry this took a while, I had to really think about how I wanted to write this. Like I said before, this Is FAR from anything that you'd usually see In a Sonic and RWBY Xover.
SegaSonic X RWBY: Domain Distortion
Chapter 1: Shattering Boundaries
Our story begins on a Cold, Wet, Murky and Stormy Night. The wind was violently kicking up, as It howled loudly with the side of a Torrential Downpour.
BGM: Sonic Megamix V4.0 Metallic Base Act 4 -3 Pitch
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were having significant difficulty trying to maintain their traction on the ground below because of how slippery the terrain became, attempting to bust their way through all of Eggman's defenses as they had pushed themselves harder than ever.
The stakes were so high that the entire world Itself was In peril, and the Trio knew that the time they had In order to save It was extremely limited. What was even worse was the fact that they never had the time to collect Emeralds from any of the Islands they visited. Every second they had was precious, so not even the slightest amount of time could be wasted, even If it was for something that could benefit them.
This was It, the Final showdown with the Rotund Doctor himself. Everything had come down to the wire, all the trials and tribulations they had gone through was naught but a mere taste of what The Doctor had In store for The Three.
Finally, the Trio had broken through every Wall and Gate that stopped their trek through The Flooded Fortress, and made their way Inside. It may seem stressful from the looks of things to even The World's Famous Hedgehog, but he knew that deep down, he and his partners needed to keep going.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles had gone through wave after wave of Badniks.
Robohoods, Armored Blasters, Flying Batbrains, Grabbers, Lance-a-bots, Egg Guards, Uniduses, Bigboms, Jettysyn Gunners, and Crawla Commanders.
Eggman had made positively sure that there wasn't a SINGLE stone or pebble left unturned. With each and every Badnik that was popped open, they knew for a fact that they were getting ever so close to the very Heart of The Fortress where Eggman was waiting.
It was only a matter of time before the three had finally come face to face with their biggest threat yet..
BGM: The Past - Sonic Adventure
Eventually, they stopped at a large mechanical Door. It opened slowly, and vertically until It reached the ceiling, as the Trio had stepped In. They were greeted to what appeared to be a wide, dimly-lit Arena of some sort, one that was big enough for them to go against a Gargantuan Machine, or perhaps The Kai Metal Sonic Model? Honestly could have been anyone's guess, really. Well, It didn't take long before their need for serious speculation had come to an end as the lights had turned on.
On the other side of the room was Eggman, with what was, Indeed, a Monsterous Mech that stood behind him. It appeared to be very heavy duty when It came to armor, having highly complex panelling to accompany It. Sonic had a feeling that Damaging It would be much easier said than done.
This wasn't something that was out of the ordinary for the Three, as they've faced against Large Robots that had dwarfed them several times. Whether It be The Original Death Egg Robo from Sonic 2, The Kyodai Death Egg Robo from S3K, Titan Metal Sonic Kai from Chaotix, or even the Final Weapon from 3D Blast.
The Hedgehog was the very first one to speak, as he gave Eggman a taunt that had radiated with tons Sassiness and Confidence.
"If I didn't know any better, It looks like you're running dry on Ideas, Pops! We busted all those crappy tinkertoys that you've thrown at us, so what's your gameplan?"
Eggman decided to respond with a wide, sinister grin, pulling out a White Jewel from one of the pockets of his tight, black trousers, as he juggled It for a little while before he spoke.
"You have been a thorn on my side for far too long! But now that you're here, let's get down to business, shall we..? Do you remember this Little Gemstone I happened to pick up a while back?"
The doctor reminded, as The Famous Hedgehog's Intrigue had shifted Into a state of urgency. He knew this all too well, as he understood the sheer cataclysmic power that The Legendary Stone in question posessed. He had a deep, sinking feeling In his little round stomach that Eggman had something absolutely diabolical up his brightly colored sleeves that he didn't like at all.
Just then, Tails had piped up, replying to Eggman before Sonic had the chance to say anything else.
"The Distortion Diamond! You're planning on using that to power your Robot so you can exploit Its properties, aren't you?!"
Eggman had answered with a loud cackle.
"AHA, HA, HA, HA! Quite the perceptive one you are, fox! Yes! I have the Intention to use this so that I can finally fufill my dream of Mechanizing all of the Islands! Christmas Island, South Island, Westside Island, Angel Island, Flicky Island, Every single one! With the raw, unadulterated power of the Distortion Diamond, I can convert all of the foliage, grass, and terrain Into a wonderful assortment of factories and Industries!"
At the thought of this, the Trio were all extremely Infuriated by the thought of it all, Knuckles especially. He knew that It'd be a tragedy If his own home, a place that was known for being filled with peace and tranquility... Were to become Infected, tainted and spoiled with Eggman's twisted desire to turn everything Into an overdeveloped mess.
"...YOU SNAKE..."
BGM: Sonic CD JP Metallic Madness (Bad Future)
The Echidna Bellowed.
It seemed that Knuckles clearly wasn't having It, so he decided to go after the Distortion Diamond... Well, that was until he had suddenly been ambushed by two Incredibly fast moving Blurs of light... After being hit by them both simultaneously, The Two Blurs had revealed themselves to be Metal Sonic Kai, and Metal Knuckles.
Sonic, unammused, had commented on the situation.
"...Of course, not only do we have MY faker here, but we HAVE to deal with Knux's fake, too..."
Unbeknownst to our Main Trio, and Eggman... A little Pink Hedgehog, a Yellow Squirrel, and a Crimson, Big Shelled Armadillo, had been spying on them through a Windowsill. They had caught wind of how dangerously dire things have gotten, and decided to get In on the action.
"Not anymore, you don't!"
The Armadillo exclaimed, as the three newcomers broke their way through the window.
"Mighty! Ray! Amy! Am I glad to see you! your timing couldn't have been any better!"
The Hedgehog said with great enthusiasm.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were not only ecstatic to see them, but felt a ton of weight get lifted off of their backs as they VERY easily outnumbered The Doctor 6 to 3. At this point, It seems like the odds have shifted. However... Eggman wasn't giving up juusst yet...
"Alright! Mighty! Knux! You two deal with Metal Knuckles! Ray and Tails, you go after Eggman and swipe the Distortion Diamond off of his hands! Amy, you're with me!"
Sonic ordered, as everyone got Into their positions. Sonic and Amy had went ahead and fought Metal Sonic Kai, Knuckles and Mighty were soon duking It out with Metal Knuckles, and finally... Tails and Ray had gone after Eggman. The doctor tried to make a getaway within the Fortress, opening one door after another. Finally, he came back to where he started, Jumped Into the Mech, placed the Distortion Diamond Into a slot, and powered It on... Unfortunately, things didn't exactly turn out the way Eggman had hoped, as his excitement had Immediately turned Into panic.
BGM: Death Egg's Hangar (Hurry Up) - Sonic the Fighters OST
The Distortion Diamond had started to surge with Immense power, violently pulsating with hot, small sparks of electricity to accompany It. This was more than enough to blow up the Robot that Eggman was controlling.
"W-what's going on?"
Ray fearfully asked
"All I know Is that the robot's about to burst..."
Mighty replied, only for Tails give out a proper explanation after a quick moment of realization.
"The Distortion Diamond Is far too powerful for Eggman to make any use of... It has to be overloading the robot's Internal systems! We have to get out of here before we get caught In the explosion!"
While the 6 heroes talked outside the Mech, Eggman was frantically doing everything he could within his power to prevent his Robot from blowing up...
"NO! NO! COME ON, DON'T COLLAPSE ON ME NOW! I JUST FINISHED BUILDING YOU YESTERDAY!!!"
No matter what Eggman did, every attempt he made to stablize the Distortion Diamond and repair machine were all futile.
After all options had been exhausted, Eggman was left with no other choice but to eject himself from the Mech and make an escape. Eggman, The Metals, and The Heroes seemed to be at a complete loss In terms of what they should do with the Distortion Diamond.
"I tried neutralizing Its power output, repairing the damages on my Mech, everything! Nothing worked!"
Eggman cried In a fit of Distress.
"If the Distortion Diamond releases all of Its stored energy, there's no telling what will happen!"
Tails added. However, Sonic wasn't going to sit there and watch his own world crumble because of this silly little Mcguffin. He knew something had to be done, and It needed to be done FAST.
"Then we've got to make something happen ourselves!"
Sonic exclaimed.
He took It upon himself to madly dash Into the same hatch that The Rotund and Oversized Doctor popped out of mere moments ago, removing the confound gem that was In the tiny slot, booked back out of the hatch once again, and chucked It at the ground with tons of force.
"What have you done?!"
Eggman yelled In disbelief and shock.
Unfortunately, that only made matters worse, causing the Disortion Diamond to react to It so negatively that It finally engulfed every person within the room In a blindingly bright flash of light. As soon as this happened, everyone had fallen Into a state of unconsciousness now, as they became completely unaware of their surroundings.

Some time after the very bright light had faded, Sonic had finally gotten up In response to feeling a small droplet of water hitting his nose from above.
BGM: Flyff - Login Soundtrack
The first thing he did was survey the environment he was In. He concluded that he was sitting on a border that abruptly cut off between a giant building that looked like a School/Castle hybrid, and a forest. He felt physically and mentally exhausted after what just happened.
And could anyone blame him for that though? I mean, really... After what he went through, I'm sure any sane and rational person would be tired of that kind of experience.
Then he spent some time recalling every single event that had already played out, Internally monologuing.
*...What In the world Is this place...? The last thing I remember was that we were all trying to stop Eggman from mechanizing all the Islands, mine Included... He overwhelmed the Distortion Diamond, and caused It to go crazy... And now I'm here-*
His Internal Monologuing had been cut a tad short when he heard a feminine voice... One that sounded almost like a Peppy, sort of Girl. Sonic didn't have the foggiest Idea as to where she even was, which seemed weird, so he decided to shrug It off and take his leave... But had then heard It once again, stopping himself so that he could continue to look for the voice. He chose to look around for a little while longer, and managed to find the direct source of where the feminine voice was coming from.
Off In the distance from where Sonic had stood, was a Tall, Blonde, Combat Ready, Lilac-Eyed Human Girl who had appeared to look no older than Sixteen or Seventeen, which was a year or two older than Sonic was.
Eventually, she had stopped and came face to face with Sonic, panting a bit.
"Hey... You... Hah... You look lost... I don't think I've seen you around here before... Are... Are you a new student here at Beacon...? Do... do you have a room at all...? Or..."
The Blonde asked, now feeling MORE exhausted than Sonic did after he managed to achieve consciousness. Sonic had to think carefully about what the Blonde said for several moments, taking all of the context that was provided to him Into account.
*...Okay, so she asked someting about being a student at this place called Beacon, which has to be that building In front of me... It looks like I was right about It being a School... It also has dorm rooms, too...*
After enough thinking, Sonic had somehow managed to come up with a response that didn't make him sound like some sort of Alien, even though he was by technicality...
"...Oh, uh... Yeah, I'm one of the new students at Beacon who they didn't give a room to yet, so... I'm sorta just doing my own thing..."
As Sonic was replying to the Lilac-Eyed Blonde, his Internal monologuing had temporarily returned.
*...Wait, I don't feel as short anymore... I'm talking to a Human Girl... She's asking me If I'm a student at this school... I must have went through a transformation of some sort In this world..*
At this point, It had dawned on Sonic that he had most likely turned into a fullblown Human, but he wasn't entirely sure at the moment. He needed to look Into a mirror, or something else that was just as reflective to know for certain.
While Sonic was deep In thought, the Blonde was trying to snap him back Into reality.
"Hey, you uh... You there, Blue? Hello? Hey, Remnant to Blue..?"
This had Instantly caught Sonic's attention, as well as the strange term 'Remnant', which must have been the name of the Planet he was on. This was something else he also had a hunch about, given the fact that he doesn't recognize a single thing here.
"Huh? Oh, my bad... I spaced out back there. I'm usually more focused on things, but I guess today's not my day."
The blonde had brushed It off, as she could relate to that sort of feeling.
"Hey, don't worry about It! I know what Its like, believe me! ...Anyway, I don't think I got your name yet... You mind telling me what It Is..?"
Sonic thought about this for a moment, since his full name Is 'Sonic the Hedgehog'. He knew that If he said his whole name In this situation, the blonde would probably look at him funny, since he just figured out that he's a human now.
"Right, uh... Its Sonic..."
He paused, trying to come up with a proper last name that sounded more human-like so he could blend In.
"...Sonic... uh... Sonic Nomad! Yeah, that's It!"
The blonde had raised an eyebrow a bit.
"...Nomad, huh? ...Interesting. Little odd, but I can kinda see It working for a last name. Maybe It'll grow on me after a while, who knows?"
She shrugged, only for her to realize that she nearly forgot to make her own Introduction.
"OH! Speaking of names, that reminds me, actually... My name Is Yang, Yang Xiao Long. Sorry for not Introducing myself sooner!"
Sonic had then thought of the many countries on Earth for a minute and accidentally muttered.
"...I swear that sounds Chinese..."
Yang tilted her head In confusion after hearing that comment.
"...What?"
Sonic, Immediately realizing his mistake, had swiftly made an effort to cover It up.
"Uh, nevermind! Don't mind me, like I said, I'm kind of out of It today!"
Yang had shook her head, trying to forget how weird that seemed to her.
"Alright, whatever. Since you don't really have a room, you wanna stay In My Team's Room until you get one of your very own? It'd be pretty sucky for you stay out here all day and night."
Sonic had thought about Yang's offer for a moment, thinking about his situation very carefully.
*Well... Its not like I've got anywhere else to go, and I don't think I'll be gettin' back to earth anytime soon at the rate I'm going. Sure, I like being that one fast tourist, using my speed to see the world and all, but... 'Remnant', Yang said It was? Isn't a place I'm exactly familiar with...*
"You know what? Sure, I don't see why not. Besides, It beats having to Indefinitely wait for one."
Sonic could definitely appreciate how this Blonde had a seemingly strong Hospitality, despite having just met her about a minute ago.
"Well then let's go!"
And with a nod from Sonic, Yang had lead him Into Beacon. While they were walking, a question that Sonic had been meaning to ask earlier, quickly resurfaced.
"Hey, Yang... How'd you figure out I was between the Forest and Beacon?"
Without having to think about It, Yang casually responded.
"Oh, well... I was pretty much minding my own business In my room until I saw you falling out of the sky through my own window. At the time, I didn't know who you were... But I felt like It was a good Idea to check you out... Y'know, Just to see If you were the same person."
Sonic had started thinking again, and based on every one of his deductions so far... It all start falling Into place.
*...This definitely has to be the work of the Distortion Diamond... I don't think any of The Chaos Emeralds, Time Stones, or Chaos Rings could pull this off... Maybe the Master Emerald, but that's about It...*
BGM: Remaining Time (Nokosareta Toki) Mahoromatic: Automatic Maiden (2001)
After talking to Yang for a bit, the two had finally arrived to The Team Dorm that she mentioned. Despite It being small, It was surpisingly roomy.
One detail about It all In particular had caught Sonic's eye, and It was the fact that there were shoddily crafted make-shift bunkbeds...
Which were actually just normal beds that were stacked on top of eachother In a way that wasn't too structurely sound. On one side, there was a bed that was being held In the air by four ropes which had sat above a more traditional looking bed... Then, on the other, you had two more beds that were DIRECTLY stacked on top of each other, mind you, with their only means of support being a set of books keeping the entire thing together.
He had to admit, regardless of the glaring Issues, this was still quite the Impressive sight.
"So you and your friends put this together?"
Sonic asked, curiously.
Yang gave Sonic a very proud reply, as she fondly reminisced the assembly of their bunkbeds like It was yesterday.
"Yeah! We weren't really sure what to do with It first... Buut then, my little sister, Ruby, had come up with the Idea that we turn these Into a set of bunkbeds! Yeah, I won't deny that It looks unstable at first glance, but... Shockingly, It wound up being perfect for all of us!"
After Yang had mentioned her sister, Ruby... Sonic had wondered If other people were In the room, besides her.
"With what you've told me, I gotta admit that It all sounds pretty neat! That does make me wonder though... Since there's 3 beds here, where's everyone else?"
Yang had thought about Sonic's question for a moment.
"...I think Ruby's still In bed... She stayed up all night trying to get all of her studies done. Weiss was getting on her case about how she won't learn anything If she Isn't paying attention to her assignments. Pretty sure she that didn't fall asleep till 1 In the morning."
Sonic couldn't help but feel a little bad for whoever this 'Ruby' girl was.
"...What time Is It now?"
He asked curiously.
"...Quarter past 8, but I'm pretty sure she's gotten enough sleep at this point."
Yang answered, looking at her scroll.
"Should we wake her up?"
Sonic wondered aloud.
"Yeah. I mean, If she sleeps In for any longer, we might miss our classes."
So with that, Sonic and Yang made their way over to Ruby's bed. The Blonde, choosing to be delicate, had gently jerked her awake with her arm. She didn't want to put her In a bad mood by being rude, especially after what she supposedly went through.
"...Mnnhhhnnn... Five moorreee mihnnuttesss..."
Ruby said, still asleep.
Before Yang could answer, two girls In Black and White had walked In.
"Ruby! Get up, we need to get to class!"
The White one yelled, knowing that they were all running out of time.
"...Ughhh... Okay! Okay! Fine, I'm... I'm up, okay?! Jeez... You don't have to be so snippy about It, Weiss..."
Ruby replied, hastily springing up from her bed after hearing Weiss raise her voice.
"Um, yes, I kind of do! Its 8:30, we have to get going! Otherwise we'll be late! You don't want to be late, do you?!"
Weiss said, very clearly losing every ounce of her patience at this point... Though, that didn't last very long because she noticed a newcomer.
"...Also, Yang... Who Is this?"
She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, him? That's Sonic-"
Sonic Instantly Interjected, cutting Yang off.
"Sonic, Sonic Nomad!"
The Black One spoke up, quietly repeating Sonic's name.
"...Sonic...Nomad..."
Yang explained to the two about how she felt about Sonic's name as well.
"...Yeah, I thought It was a little strange too. Like I said to Sonic before, we'll probably get used to It."
Ruby had jumped out of her bed, and chimed In.
"...Well I think It sounds cool! Quick question though... Is he like, I dunno... Staying? Orrr..."
Yang quickly gave Ruby and the others a rundown for his sudden appearance.
"He's here because he's supposed to be a student, but doesn't have a dorm. I found him standing on the border between the Emrerald Forest, and Beacon Academy, looking lost."
"...That's odd, they usually get that settled first thing..."
The Black One said, thinking aloud In regards to Sonic's situation.
"Well, If he doesn't have a place to stay... Why don't we Introduce ourselves? Make him feel at home!"
The other three girls had nodded In agreement with Ruby. While Sonic already knew Yang, she didn't mind telling him who she was for a second time. After all, It'd be a bit weird If she was the only one who remained silent.
"Since I'm the leader, I'll go first! I'm Ruby, Ruby Rose! Nice to meet you, Sonic!"
She said cheerfully. Her last name had reminded her of Amy Rose, which was one of the 5 people he needed to seek.
"I'm Weiss, Weiss Schnee, Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company."
"Blake, Blake Belladonna."
"...And you already know me, but I'll say my name again anyway. I'm Yang, Yang Xiao Long."
Ruby then finally finished everything off with a proud cheer.
"Together, we form Team RWBY!"
After the Introductions, Weiss checks her scroll again, seeing If they all still have enough time to get to class.
"...We HAVE to go, Its 8:35! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not someone who's Interested In getting punished for being tardy, so let's go!"
So with that, the four girls had scrambled to get themselves ready In time, grabbing everything they needed for their upcoming session. As they walked out the door, Yang told Sonic to stay behind for the time being.
"Sonic, can you chill In here for a while until we get back? Last thing we want Is for things to get messy, so you don't mind waiting... Right?"
Sonic had pondered the request for moment, finally letting out a sigh of Irritation.
"...While I'm generally NOT a fan of 'waiting'... I CAN give It a try, If Its to make things easier for you all..."
Feeling thankful, Yang had lowered her head.
"Thank you, I appreciate It. Maybe once we get back, I'll try to make It up to-"
Yang was Interrupted by Weiss before she could finish.
"Yang! Let's go!"
"Whoops, gotta book It! See ya In a bit!"
After everything was pretty much said and done, the four girls left Sonic In the room to relax and think again.
While Yang was making a mad dash to Class with the rest of her team, she had only one thing on her mind...
And that, was Sonic... Despite the little time the two have already spent with eachother, there was a certain way that Sonic carried himself In which The Blonde was fond of...
*...Why... Why can't I stop thinking about him?! ...Why do I like him so much already?! I don't even have the time to get Into all that sappy romance crap! ...D-do I...? I-I mean... I.. I do like how cool and confident he is, and I'd be lying If I said he wasn't... He's got a certain attitude to him that I've never expereinced before... L-like a sass! Y-yeah! ...That blue, spikey hair, the dark blue tank top, the pants that go down to his ankles, the super soft white gloves, the... Um... Shoes? They look like they're made of rubber and nylon though, so they can't be shoes... Ughhh, whatever! Point Is that he's just SO COOL! He like... He like... I-I don't knooowww, he just... embodies the word! Ohh, I just wanna see him In action soooooo freakin' bad! D-damn It! Pull It together, Yang! Class Is coming up... You gotta focus!*

Author's note: I'm sure Its pretty long for a first chapter, but... I tried my best. ALSO, feel free to critique the EVER LIVING HELL out of my writing. Don't worry, I won't get mad. As a matter of fact, I actively encourage criticism. So please, be honest with me here. Also If the alignment seems off, that might potentially have something to do with the fact that this was entirely made on mobile. Anyway, there were a TON of small references to JP continuity related things, fangames, and other forms of Sonic related media. Dialogue Is Inspired by the Sonic OVA, The 30th Anniversary Seasons of Chaos IDW Comic, and other things. Story Beats are Inspired by "The New Heartbeats" that was made by Sonicfan32567, The Official JP Sonic Lore that was written all the way back In the 90's, Seasons of Chaos (AGAIN), Sonic Fangames and how they always generally have some new Mcguffin to go along with the story, Volume 1 of RWBY, Uhh... Actually, I think that's It with the plot elements... Oh, and the whole Yang having a crush on Sonic Is Inspired by "The New Heartbeats" as well. Difference Is that It may take a VERY LONG time before Sonic even notices It because of what he's experiencing. There's also a reference to Sonic Robo Blast 2's Badniks because of the good memories I've had of the game for well over 10 years now. Before you bring up the fact that they're not canon to the JP Continuity In ANY WAY, I would just like to remind people that this still takes place well after the events of 3D Blast, Fighters, or Chaotix. All three of which can be viewed as the end of the JP timeline for the most part, so... As far as I'm aware, anything beyond that Is fair game, and doesn't ruin what's already been written. On top of It, I don't have any plans to fully Incorporate Sonic Robo Blast 2 Into the Story, as this Is will most likely continue to have small nods. If anyone happened to enjoy the references to Sonic Robo Blast 2, I'm very pleased to Inform you that the badniks aren't the last you'll see! There's some more stuff I have In store!
