A small, quiet thank you escaped the woman's lips as Yusei hands her a warm cup of coffee. "Sorry I can't do more. Sector Security is on their way, have you managed to get ahold of your husband?" Rally hid behind the door leading to the kitchen, being the curious little snoop he is.
Quietly he leans his face forward when she nods her head. Just who was this lady? And why did Yusei bring her? Unless it was work related his elder brother never brought people over, especially when he was just supposed to just get groceries.
Rally wasn't the only one puzzled as Crow, Tank and Nervin stood right behind him. All glancing around each other in confusion. Except for Blitz who just rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms. It shouldn't of surprised him but here he was standing, thinking how ridiculous everyone looked.
His friends looks suspicious as hell trying to be sneaky. And in any case this wasn't any of their business. "N-no please-I can't thank you enough for helping me." She looked down then, wiping her eyes with the now slightly damp towel wrapped around her shoulders.
A shiver crawls up her spine, causing her to further pull the towel into her frame. "With how bad the storm is I recommend waiting till at least Trudge shows up to escort you back to New Domino." The red head snorts, it was a faint sound, but Yusei heard it all the same.
He decided it to ignore them for the moment, at least until his newest guest calmed down. Though the trembling refused to leave her limbs, she offered him a sheepish smile. "May I borrow your phone? I apologize if that's an inconvenience, but I really need to get ahold of my husband."
She would use her own, but all it took was her holding it up for him to see the problem. It was completely drenched with a huge crack on the screen from when it got dropped earlier. He offers her a kind smile before giving her his phone.
"If he needs the address, just tell him Saint Martha's Auto Repairs." Her eyes widen for a moment before she eagerly goes about dialing the number. Taking that as his cue, Yusei opens the door leading back into the living room, catching a stumbling Rally in the process.
He gives everyone a stern glare before herding them away. "What's going on Yusei? Who is she?" A sigh escapes as Rally falls onto the couch. Yusei leaned against the wall, shutting his eyes as he breathed.
Eventually getting sick of feeling everyone's intense stares. "I ran into her at the grocery store, Jerry Wheeler was messing with her." Crow's face twisted in anger, practically snarling the thugs' name.
"No surprise there." Jerry Wheeler was well known for his rude, flirtatious behavior and muggings. Just because he was Joey Wheeler's cousin, he thought he was superior and acted like a big shot because of it.
It didn't help that he was someone that always made sure he got his way. No matter how unreasonable the demand could be. They could only imagine how angry Yusei was for finding him harassing a poor woman on the street.
'Well whaddya we have here?' He was getting a bit too close for comfort for her liking as the timid woman took a step back. 'Ain't you a pretty little thing. Good thing too considering I don't tolerate people postin stuff without my permission.' A set of papers clutched to her chest.
Confusion graced her features from his statement. She had already gotten permission from the manager of the store. Who was this guy? 'The name's Jerry Wheeler. Hows about you and me have a little walk? I know a great food joint.'
He gave her an easygoing smile, but despite not being from around here she could feel something was off. The look in his eyes made her uncomfortable. Her smile was tense as she took another uneasy step away.
'I'm sorry sir. But I'm busy. As soon as I put up these posters I'm meeting up with my Husband.' She made sure to emphasize the last word, and Jerry didn't like that at all. Calloused hands reached, grabbing her wrists, forcing her to stay in place.
As well as unintentionally drop the stack of papers in her possession. 'I don't think you understand here missy. I ain't given ya a choice.' Panicking she yelped and struggled. It was no use however, he overpowered her with ease. 'Hey now, there's no need to worry. It'll be a fun time.'
Suddenly the two were engulfed in a bright light. 'Arg!' Yusei dived off his runner, keeping the light on. Easily separating the two in one swift motion as he lands a solid punch in his face. 'Leave her alone, it's obvious she's not interested.' The woman held her purse tightly to her chest, panicking.
She didn't know what was happening, barely able to process what was going on. 'Yusei you bastard!' Jerry was seething at the familiar figure standing in his way. His mouth turning into a predatory snarl as Mr. Hero gave the woman a gentle push towards the store's entrance.
Not wanting her to stay anymore than she already has. 'Quickly go to a manager named Lawton. Tell him Jerry's messing around again and he'll take care of you.' Eager to get away from the intimidating blonde, she takes the kind stranger's advice and dashes in. 'Ey! Get back here!'
She doesn't hear anything else after, already far from the entrance. 'Please! Is there a Mr. Lawton?!' Within a sea of people a concerned face approaches, taking in her disheveled appearance. 'What seems to be the problem miss? Are you alright?' It takes her a few minutes to compose herself.
But she's relieved to see this Lawton character was the same gentleman she was conversing with earlier when she asked to put her posters up. She inhales and exhales, trying to calm her frantic heart.
'A man named Jerry was trying to hurt me. Another individual came to my aid and told me to get you. He needs help!'
There were several times Crow had butted heads with him over his attitude, but this time he was seriously lucky the ginger wasn't there. Otherwise he would've had more issues then trying to catch a date. "Did you beat him up?" Rally's eyes were sparkling at the thought.
Man would he have paid to see the dirty blonde get his ass kicked. "No, of course not." Immediately the red head deflated, only to yelp while holding his aching scalp as Nervin gave him a light smack.
"There's nothing good getting into a fight Rally, let alone with Jerry." Crow met Yusei's eyes for a minute, the pair holding a silent conversation while the rest of their little group bickered. Even after not seeing his old friend in so long Crow could read him like a book.
His dark gray eyes moving down towards the taller teen's left leg, specifically his ankle. He was hiding it well enough, but...it was only a matter of time before Blitz or one of the others took notice that he wasn't putting his full weight on it.
Even though Yusei stated he didn't beat up Jerry, that doesn't mean a fight between the two didn't break out. It had to at least be a sprain, if not worse. So immediately the shorter of the two changes the subject with a little observation he found, grabbing everyone's attention.
"She doesn't seem like she lives in the Satellite." The clothes she was wearing was way too nice, and the necklace around her neck looked valuable. Whether it was fake or not, the gold looking chain would fetch a mighty fine price here.
Jerry Had to have been flirting with her if she still had that and her purse on her without so much as a ruffle in her clothes. "That's because she doesn't. She lives in New Domino." The ginger whistled, his suspicions confirmed.
Blitz scrunched his face in distaste as he glares at their old classmate. "What are you still doing here Crow?" He had enough of the birdbrain being here. Having no qualms of making sure he knew he was unwelcomed.
Yusei sighed, too tired for this. He still had to grab the groceries that were in the duel runner's side car. "I came to chat and play catch up. But I guess I came at a bad time." Even worse off is that Crow was nonchalant about the whole thing.
Shrugging his shoulders which pissed off the bandanna wearing factory worker more than he already was. "Any time would've been bad if it means you crawling back here!" He could really use a nap right about now.
Before a fist fight between the two could begin a few gurgling sounds reached their ears. The loudest came from Rally who gave a nervous chuckle. "Hey where are the groceries?" Yusei could only sigh again as he pushed himself off the wall.
"They're still outside. I'll go grab them." Crow stopped him then, placing a firm hand on his arm. Preventing him from taking a single step forward. "I got the goods. You go take a shower and change before you get sick." He may not be a doctor, but there was no way he was going to just stand there like an idiot.
Let alone watching awkwardly as the owner of those pained blue eyes potentially make his injury worse. So he gives the group a grin as he moves towards the door. Blinking in surprise when his old friend gives him a grateful nod. "If you're sure."
All Crow does is give him a thumbs up. Blitz and the others shared glances as the ginger made his way outside into the pouring rain. At least he had a rain jacket giving him the much needed protection from the storm while Yusei makes good on his offer.
Holding back a grimace he rushes towards his bedroom. Within ten minutes Crow managed to bring everything in, with Rally sorting through the groceries. "Hey where's my pastries?!" He was ready to cry as he searched high and low in the bags.
Breaking the tension without realizing it as the adults around him laughed at his childish whines. Yusei screams from the shower, easily hearing his brother's complaints. "Secret compartment of my runner." Cursing the teen rushes for the door.
He was one that tended to avoid the cold, especially rain, but his donuts needed him. "I'm coming my babies!" For his delicious treats he would go through the fiery pits in hell. They were Zora specials after all. Although it was obvious to everyone as he stepped back in...he was going to need a shower too.
Hopefully his brother will save him some hot water.
