Chapter 11

Luffy, her crew as well as her two brothers. Slip out of Vivi's home in the dead of the night. Before they could leave though, Luffy stops to turn to her new friend, her new nakama. "Vivi if you ever would like to come and join us. Please let me know." She tells the girl as she moves up to her and gives her a hug.

As Vivi pulls back from Luffy she gives her a watery smile. "So, you knew I couldn't join you?" She questions.

"Yeah, I knew when I saw how you reacted with your friends and family. You truly need this time to rebuild your bounds and strengthen yourself. I do expect to see you when I do get married." Luffy tells her as she looks back towards Shanks with a gentle smile on her face.

Vivi nods her head to her new friend, Nakama. "Alright. Thank you very much Luffy-chan." She tells her as she clasped her hands together. "I'll be there on your big day. Just give me a heads up. So I'll be able to be on time." She added grinning back at the ravenette.

"I will." Luffy tells her as she spins on her heel as she runs down the steps and reaches out for Shanks's hand and tugs him along as she begins running towards the desert leading to their ships.

Shanks chuckles as his hand tightens around Luffy's as she turns back to grin at him. "I'll never leave." He tells her as they come up to several groups of Ducks. That appears to have been waiting for them. .

Luffy beams up at him. "I hope you never do. For I would be lost without you." She told him with a slight blush. Shanks pulls her onto the duck he had gotten on. "Then I shall hold you until we have to part." He tells her to lean into her to give her a soft kiss on the cheek, As he doesn't want to push her. Luffy nods her head as she is now glowing bright red.

Leaning her head back Luffy smiles at him. "So, are you going to deliver me to my ship personally?" She questions him with a cheeky grin on her face.

Shanks matches her own grin. "Yup, I don't want to trust you to anyone at the moment. For I want to spend just a little more time with you before I have to return to the New World." He told her as he leans down and places a soft kiss on her forehead.

Luffy giggles some more. This hadn't gone unnoticed by her two brothers as well as Zoro as Sanji was in his own little world flirting with Nami. Ace thighs his fist as flames begin licking around his fist.

Sabo lets out a long sigh. As this caught Ace's attention. "Let them be. For you know Luffy will kill you if you try to hurt him. She has already made that clear." He told his eldest brother and a frown upon his face.

"I know. But, stil I can be upset and try to put the fear of Kami into him." Ace told Sabo with his own frown.

Zoro shakes his head at the antics of the two riding alongside him. "Just drop it you two. They will not be seeing each other much. Shanks and his crew are returning back to the New World as we are going to have our fun here in the Grand Line." He told them as he knew now he was going to have his hands full with Luffy and her two brothers.

Two Hours later

They are able to see the two ships waiting for them. "Well guys we made it." Sanji said as he pulled a drag from his cigarette.

Shanks frowns as he knows this will be good-bye for the time being. He kisses Luffy upon her head. "I will miss you my dear." He told her as he kept his lips upon the top of her head.

Leaning back into his chest and his single arm wrapped around her now. She huffs. "I know. I will miss you. But, we will meet once more in the new world." She told him as she leaned her head back to look up at him with a soft sad smile.

"I know. I shall count the days until we meet once more." Shanks tells her with one of his goofy smiles to put her at ease.

"I shall keep you to that promise as I will mark down the days until we meet once more." Luffy told him with her famous D grin upon her face.

Upon unmounting from the ducks. The two crews along with Luffy's two brothers part ways. "We shall meet once more." Shanks calls out from his ship over to the Captain of the Strawhat Pirates.

"Have fun in the New World. I shall see you soon." Luffy calls out to Shanks grinning like a mad woman.

WIth that said the two ships parted ways in the middle of the night. Two hearts being pulled away from each other. For one holds a powerful dream to become the New Pirate King. As the old loses his greatest dream once more. Once more he will have to wait to have her by his side once more.

Several days later

Shanks and his crew had returned to the New World. They had found an island to rest at. Footsteps could be heard making their way towards The Red-Hair Pirates. Looking up from the newspaper, as his knees hold up the newspaper as he had been reading. He arches a brow as he sees Mihawk walking into the clearing they have been resting in as a steaming hot cup of coffee resting at his side as well. "Hey Hawkie, what brings you to my humble little island?" He questions with a smile.

Gold eyes meet with silver eyes. "I have a question for you." He begins as he stands before Shanks looking down at him.

Tilting his head to the left he studies the face of his oldest friend. "What would that be, Hawkie?" He questions him.

"Is it true? Is it true you are my half brother?" Mihawk questions with a deadpan expression held upon his face.

Shanks pales several shades as he looks away from his eldest brother. Trying to figure out how he had found out. Turning back to meet his brother's eyes, he sighs. "You know I have been waiting for the day when that old bastard would tell you or your sister about myself." Shanks began to tell him. "Yes, I am your brother. My mother was also a Dragon. Making myself one of those bubbleheaded fools. But, that isn't a life for me. I will have my revenge one day and kill the fucker that had murdered my mother for the little money she held with her." He told his brother as he looked away as tears threatened to break.

Mihawk stood there silently. His golden eyes studying his little brother before him. A man he had seen his friend since the day they had met. A man he has also seen as his rival from when Shanks was 17 years old and he was only 23 years old. "Why hadn't you ever told me?" He questions as you could hear slight hurt mixed into his voice.

Shanks hangs his head low. "I am sorry. I had been told once from my mother not to breathe a word I was his son. For it would cause more trouble than it was worth." He told the older man standing before him as he looked up at him. "I had wanted to tell you several times. But, that one night we had been drinking and how you spoke of our father and the bastard child he has out there. I feared to tell you. For at the time I hadn't wanted to lose you as a friend. For you're the only other person besides Benn who knows all my secrets. Well but for one." He said with a humorless chuckle.

Mihawk moves his right hand up to the bridge of his nose. Pinching it he closes his eyes as he tries to wrap his mind around. What he had been told from his asshole father and his newly found out younger brother. This was going to be a shit show once he informed his sister. Something he has been putting off until he was able to speak with Shanks.

"It isn't your fault. Your late mother wanted to protect you. She hadn't wanted anyone who was pissed off at the bastard to come and hurt you or try to kidnap you." Mihawk tells the red-head.

Blanching for a moment Shanks looks up at his newly minted brother. "Have you told her?" He questions as he doesn't want to have another run in with his half sister. For the last run they had had, it hadn't ended very well for him as she tried to cut off what makes him a man.

"Yes, I will have to allow her to know." Mihawk tells him as he hadn't even wanted to deal with his dear sister as well.
