Hanging On The Edge-Ch 23
The next morning came and by the time Penelope came downstairs Derek and the others were already there waiting on her, she smiled as she stepped into the dining room, she walked over and kissed hiim gently on the cheek and said, "gooddddddddd morning hotstuff". He wrapped his arms around her and said, "and good morning to you to angel, how did you sleep lastnight?", she said, "I didn't think I was ever gonna get to sleep, kept thinking about today".
Derek rested his forehead against hers and said, "yeah, same here buttttt we won't have to wait much longer, because in another couple of hours you will be Mrs, Derek Morgan", she grinned and said, "I can't tell you how good that sounds", he winked at her and said, "so true sweetness, so true". Dave looked up at Penelope and said, "kitten I swung by the courthouse and picked up your marriage license, it's over on the table", Penelope said, "thanks papa bear, I appreciate that", he grinned and said, "no problem, I was already on that side of town so it wasn't any problem at all".
Penelope looked down at her two handsome nephews who were already dressed for the wedding, she said, "wow, don't the two of you look so so handsome?", Henry said, "fank you aunt Nelope", she tapped the end of his little nose and he giggled. Jack said, "thanks aunt P", she said, "anytime Jackers, anytime", they then enjoyed a delicious breakfast, it wasn't too heavy but it would be enough to get them through the morning and afternoon without any problems.
The little group was sitting around talking for a few minutes when Penelope looked at her husband to be and said, "are any of your friends from work coming?", he said, "yep, they're on call but they will be here", he glanced down at his watch and said, "as a matter of fact they should be pulling in anytime now". JJ looked at Penelope and said, "come on Garcie, let's get you upstairs and get you ready, it's not long till you walk down that flower petal path to your groom".
Penelope said, "this is all feeling so real right now and I gotta tell ya the butterflies are definitely in my stomach right now", Henry and Jack looked at each other and then ran over and put their little hands on her tummy and Henry said, "wowwww, weally, how day det in dere?", she said, "honey not really butterflies". The two little boys looked up at her and she said, "it's more like a feeling of something in my tummy fluttering like butterfly wings but nooooooo actual butterflies are inside my tummy, I promise".
The two little buys hugged her and in unison said, "we lub you", she said, "awwwww, I love you guys too and I can't thank you enough for being a part of my big day today", the boys grinned at her as she said, "carrying the rings is a very important job and I am so glad that the two of you agreed to take that position for me". Jack looked at Henry and smiled, Henry giggled and said, "anyfang for you aunt Nelope, we lub you soooooooooo much" as he opened his little arms as wide as he could", Penelope said, "and I love you both sooooooo very very much, you're my little angels", both boys laughed and then ran back over to their mothers.
JJ and Emily then stood up and helped the bride to be off of the couch, JJ said, "you two stay downstairs with your fathers and help keep uncle Derek in line", the little boys nodded their heads yes and said, "kayyyyyyyy" as they ran over to stand with their fathers. Penelope smiled at Fran and the others and said, "I want to thank all of you so much for everything that you've done for me, I know that the last few months have had their ups and downs but we never would have made it if we hadn't stuck together, so thank you, thank you all".
Derek said, "I second that, you are all a group of amazing people and I am so glad that I met you", Dave said, "we're glad that we got to meet you too son, maybe not the way it happened but we are definitely glad that we met you and that today we will be here with you and Penelpoe as you start your married lives together". Derek nodded his head and said, "thanks, me too", he was pulled from the conversation when they heard a knock at the door, Derek said, "ohhh that must be my friends from work", they watched as he disappeared out of the room to go answer the door.
Penelope was getting ready to head upstairs when Derek called her name, she looked around and said, "yes my vision?", Derek grinned and said, "I want you to meet my friends before you go up to get ready, is that okay?", she said, "sure, I would love to meet your friends". Derek pointed to each man and said, "this is Chris, Todd, Andy, Fredrick, Toby and last but not least, this is Archie", Penelope grinned and said, "it's nice to finally meet all of you, Derek has told me so much about you all that I already feel like I know you".
The men all nodded their heads and Chris said,"same here, Derek has told us a lot about the two of you too and might I say that it's nice to meet the woman that was able to tame this wild man", Derek said, "wild man, what are you talking about dude, I'm not a wild man at all". The other men rolled their eyes and Derek said, "stop saying things like that before baby girl changes her mind about marrying me", the men laughed and held up their hands in submission, Penelope grinned at the men and said, "it was nice to meet you and before I head upstairs to get dressed I would like to introduce to you my team/family".
Dereks friends looked at everybody as she said, "this is David Rossi, this is Aaron Hotchner and his beautiful wife Emily, this is Spencer Reid and his amazing wife Jennifer but everybody calls her JJ", the men all nodded and said, "nice to meet you", the team returned the gesture by saying, "nice to meet you too". Penelope gave Derek a quick kiss and then headed upstairs with JJ and Emily to get dressed for her big day and as she disappeared out of sight Archie said, "mannnnnnn, you lucked out, she's an amazing woman, you have hit the motherlode my friend", Derek nodded his head in agreement and said, "don't I know it man, don't I know it".
