A pair of green orbs stared at me from the reflection of the bathroom mirror, a set of eyes not my own blinking back at me. An unfamiliar face stood in front of me, mimicking the action of my lips parting to gape at me.

My hand went up to feel at the jaw muscles on my face, trailing along my ear to brush againstmy shaved head. It all felt so real, yet…I never remembered having ears so big, or eyes so small, and my head wasn't shaved either…

Also, I definitely don't remember being Asian - fuck remembering, I knew for a fact I wasn't Asian.

At least before I went to bed last night.

Chancing a look down at my naked upper body, I was yet again met with an unfamiliar sight. Muscles I had spent a lifetime of effort on getting were nowhere to be seen. Where before lean muscles would greet me, now there was a flabby body.

"What the hell kinda dream is this…?" My voice trailed off, all the while I stared in shock and wonder at the reflection in the mirror.

Congratulations!

You've been picked as the winner of a multiversal lottery! Henceforth, you are a Gamer!

New Title gained!

'Luck's Chosen' added to the title list!

Boxes filled with words appeared in front of me with rapid succession, obscuring my sight, and thus bringing me out of my trance.

As I stared at the floating boxes, my mind quickly made the connection. A Korean manhwa I had once read popped at the forefront of my mind, my thoughts going a thousand miles, before being stopped by another box.

Prior knowledge of abilities already existing, cancelling tutorial…tutorial cancelled!

Have fun playing The Game!

Large amounts of anxiety detected from the user, Gamer's Mind turned on!

The fear and panic had begun to grow within me the moment I laid my eyes on the mirror, and it only worsened with the appearance of the boxes, finally reaching Its peak when the last box appeared.

But then, it all vanished. As if someone had waved a wand my way and made it go 'poof'. In Its place, a chilling calm took over my mind, allowing me to think properly.

I didn't rule out the chance of this being a very vivid dream, but still, with shaking lips, I muttered a word.

"Quests," Another thing I hadn't noticed before was that my voice was deep, incredibly so. It was strange hearing someone else's voice when I talked, and it being so deep made it even weirder.

That wasn't important, however.

Having acted on my command, another box appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

I looked at the top of the box, focusing on the question marks shining in all the colors of the rainbow.

Rewards: Complete Quest to receive.

With a thought, the box blinked out of existence.

I ran a hand through my hair-err, head, seeing as I was clean-shaven now.

"Stats," Another testing session took place. Another box appeared, defying the forces of gravity as it floated in front of me. I deftly punched at it, my fist harmlessly passing through it.

Suddenly, I had a very strong urge to laugh-

Gamer's Mind Activated!

Taking ahold of my phone, which wasn't anything impressive, I checked what the cause of all the buzzing was.

One by one, I opened the 6 messages from a guy named Issei.

Where the hell are you dude?!

Get here in 5 minutes!

Come on!

The ceremony has started!

Dude, there are so many hot chicks here, you're missing out!

C'mon, you were the one the most excited about going to Ku-

I closed the phone without reading further.

"Status."

Checking the screen that told me my statistics, I read over my name, my blood instantly boiling-

Gamer's Mind activated!

I took a sharp breath, rushing out of the bathroom a moment later. My eyes darted towards the sole sofa in the small apartment, where what I assumed was a school uniform lay sprawled.

My theory of this being a vivid dream returned in full motion. I mean, there were some pretty unbelievable things out there in the world, but getting transported into another universe was far outside the realm of possibilities.

I darted towards the school uniform and began hastily putting it on, the thought of going to school actually seeming like an enjoyable notion. As long as I didn't have to spend time with myself, anything would do.

Along the road I asked for directions to Kuoh Academy, noting that I was fluent in speaking and understanding Japanese.

That's not that important, however, when you compare it to the fact that I was currently in a fictional world, stuck in the body of the protagonist's best friend.

Despite what many might believe, Kuoh Academy was like any other highschool, the only difference being that it was a girl's only highschool a year ago. Something that probably changed to accommodate Rias Gremory's Knight Piece…

A sigh left my lips for the hundredth time that day, Gamer's Mind while keeping me from hyperventilating, did little to ease my nerves. A small part of me was thankful to know that my mind and thoughts weren't affected that much. That meant I was still me. Albeit in a different body.

Tsubaki Shinra Lv27

At the front of Kuoh's gate stood a tall, black-haired beauty. Hourglass figure, big chest, as was common in the DxD Universe.

A short conversation later and I was following her lead towards my classroom, ignoring the scolding she gave me for being late.

Turns out she was also late to school, so I don't know why she was giving me the lecture.

Before I knew it, we were already at the designated classroom. I thanked the girl for her help before lightly knocking. Not waiting for an answer, I barged right in, an apology already leaving my mouth.

"I'm sorry for being late, some…things came up."

And the teacher asked the question I was expecting.

"What things came up, mister…?" Her voice trailed off, asking for my name. I idly noted that she was level 7, as the letters above her head said.

"My name's Inoue Matsuda, miss...and It's personal." I played the 'its personal' excuse. It was one I used throughout my first year of highschool, sure it led to the students and professors thinking I was a troubled teen, but it served Its job well.

"All right, I won't inquire further, please take a seat." Well, I wasn't one to keep a lady waiting.

Ding!

Through successfully telling a person something that isn't true, you have learned the skill 'LyingLv1'!

I almost chuckled at the pop-up, of course my first skill would be something like that.

I looked around the room, searching for two guys I knew would be there. Before long my eyes settled on Issei Hyoudou, sitting at the back of the class near the window, like your typical shonen protagonist. Right beside him was Motohama, together with Matsuda(now me) these three would make The Perverted Trio. As far as I knew, these two were Matsuda's only friends.

That made things a lot easier.

The seat in front of Issei happened to be free, so I flopped down on it.

"Dude, what took you so long?" Motohama asked in a hushed voice.

"Later," I whispered back as I took the piece of paper he gave me, turning it over and revealing it to be our class schedule.

The rest of the time turned out to be uneventful, just the professor telling us the rules of conduct, and calling me out on not having my shirt fully buttoned up.

I didn't correct the buttoning. Fuck that – I couldn't breathe if it was buttoned up all the way.

"Okay, why the hell were you so late?" Asked the protagonist.

Having already made up something, I told him "There was a lady getting harassed by some goons. I helped her out."

"Bullshit."

"You were probably the one doing the harassing."

I laughed at their response, of course they wouldn't fall for that.

"I mean, obviously I overslept…" I mean, it was true.

"I thought so." Said Glasses.

Having noticed something, Issei decided to change the subject "I see you've stepped up your game, Matsuda…"

I only stared at him, wondering what he was referring to.

"Coming late to class, not fully buttoning up your shirt, the uncaring attitude towards Sensei…" Sensei meant teacher in Japanese, that much I knew, but where was he going with this?

"I get it now!" Glasses added his piece of the cake as well, while I patiently waited for what they were going to say.

"You've chosen the Bad Boy route, well done my comrade!" Issei said as he slung an arm around my shoulder. I was uncomfortable, seeing as I myself didn't know much about him, and yet here he was treating me like his best friend…which I was now. Shit, I don't wanna think about where the original Matsuda went. But It's nagging at the back of my mind.

"Heh, you suckers better move up your game, or else I'll leave you in the dirt." I said, trying not to seem too unnatural by being too quiet.

"Oh, just you wait…" Motohama muttered, "What do you think would suit me more, a Prince Charming or Airhead type?" He asked, probably referring to which role he should try and get girls with.

"A dumbass." I commented without a thought.

"Look at you acting all high and mighty! I'll have you know I can be quite the charmer!" I very much doubted that, but why not give him the benefit of the doubt.

"Sure, I trust that…" was all I said before Issei intertwined.

"Okay guys, I gotta go this way, don't kill each other." He said, extending his hand.

"Wait, Matsuda, you don't believe I can get a girlfriend by the end of the year, do you?" Motohama asked, his eyes glinting with…something.

"Unless you pay some gal a fortune to act as your girlfriend for a day, then no, I don't think so." The glasses wearing pervert seemed to choke on his own spit before he retorted.

"Oh yeah, well I bet you can't get a girlfriend either!"

"Bet?"

"Bet."

"I'll join in on the action as well!" Issei yelled enthusiastically.

"Allright, let's shake on it." And so we did just that.

The screen appeared as soon as I stepped foot in the small apartment building, startling me.

Upon taking a look at the quest, I stared disbelievingly at it.

This…except for the run, it was unbelievably easy.

And also, wasn't this Highschool DxD? Since when did One Punch Man mix into this?

Whatever.
