Elizabeth walked into the kitchen and saw Chuck sitting with Ella looking at papers. She kissed his cheek and Ella's head then sat down.
"How's it going?" she asked
"Lily's information is useless" he said
"Is there anything I can do to help?" she asked.
"I wish I could say yes and there is but unfortunately no. And don't you have an album to launch."
"#8 on iTunes" she replied. "It hits stores today and critics are raving about it"
"Ella, your mother is gonna rule the world" he said then put his hand on her belly "You two are gonna have the coolest mom in the world"
"Not quite yet but I'm getting there" she said taking Ella from him. "I was gonna bring her to see Serena to cheer her up after the whole thing with Dan"
"Are you sure that's a good idea. She might not want to see you"
"I think I'm the perfect person" she replied "Dan may have posted the chapter about Serena, but he hurt me too. Basically, implied that my whole romantic life in the last 5 years was a lie. I know it wasn't and you know but it still hurt that he thought that less of me to think I couldn't get these relationships on my own."
"I'll keep you updated on my end" he replied then kissed her.
"Same" she smiled. "Come on Ella, let's go see Aunt Serena"
She took Ella and they headed out. She got over to Lily's and walked into Serena's room to see her packing.
"Going somewhere?" she asked.
"I…I need to go somewhere a way from here"
"I get it" she replied. "I'm not patiently waiting to see what he says about me. Cause he could write a whole book"
"You're his sister, even in 'Inside' he was nice to you"
"He attacked my dad" she said "And yes, he said that he didn't write one on me but he was probably playing me to get me to forgive him. I hate fighting with him but what he did this time is huge. And I can't be Cassandra and forgive Dylan every time"
"What brings you by?"
"I wanted to say I was sorry for his actions. For some reason I felt the need…"
"It's not your fault Lizzie. He hurt you too. I could tell on your face when you walked back out that he had broken your heart. What did he say to you exactly?"
"That none of you would have talked to me if he hadn't of dated you"
"I met you and Jenny first" Serena said. "Blair already couldn't stand you because you were tied with her for top of class so I kinda already knew you through that. You sought out Nate and didn't you lie to the front desk and say you were pregnant to get to Chuck's suite to talk to Nate.
"Yeah" she smiled.
"See. Plus, Chuck has had his eye on you a very long time"
"That's what he told me." she replied.
"So, we would've eventually became your friend without Dan being involved."
"Dan had nothing to do with Chuck and I" she replied "That developed all on its own. Maybe a little help from Nate"
"Well, you two are happy and have a beautiful little girl and another baby on the way, so don't let your brother's words take that from you"
"Babies"
"Really!?"
"Yeah"
"That is so exciting"
"Thank You." she replied then looked around "Since you're obviously packing to move somewhere. This doesn't look like vacation packing"
"I gotta get out of New York, whether for good or vacation. I just need to go" she replied.
Elizabeth nodded.
"Then let me…"
"Serena!" Blair said walking in Chuck behind her. "Oh. It is a mess in here."
"Oh. Yeah, I'm just purging my closet" Serena said and glanced at Elizabeth to not say anything.
"Ah. A post-Dan cleanses. It's just what the doctor ordered, and a little distraction"
"Which is exactly what we have for you" Chuck said
"Is this about Bart? Yeah, my mom called and told me everything. It sounds like it's gotten pretty scary" Serena asked.
"Which is why we need to stop him." Chuck replied as Ella reached out for him and he grabbed her. "For the sake of my family"
"But in order to do that we to elicit a confession" Blair said.
"And make him believe we have proof for his crimes"
"Okay but how can I help?" Serena asked.
"Well, the last person to be seen with that microfilm in her grimy little paw was Ivy Dickens"
"I hate what she did to my father" Elizabeth replied.
"Her cell's been disconnected, and she hasn't been spotted on 'Gossip Girl' for weeks."
"She's probably at Cece's Hamptons house. That's the place she went the last time she disappeared." Serena said.
"Why don't we um get her back here?" Chuck said.
Serena picked up her phone and called.
"Hey Ivy. It' Serena…You know, I've doing some thinking, and-and I realized that my family treated you horribly…I don't know I guess since Dan humiliated me, I have a new appreciation for friendship. So why don't we meet at the Oak Room around noon and we can chat over lunch?" Serena said and listened to the last thing "Great Bye"
She hung up and turned to the three.
"She's in"
"I need to drop off Ella with Courtney" Elizabeth said. "She is taking her to see the tree at The Rockefeller Center. They're both really excited about it. Ella more than Courtney of course."
"Tree" Ella said.
"We will see you at The Oak Room?" Chuck asked then kissed Ella's head then kissed Elizabeth. She grabbed Ella from him.
"I'll be there" she replied.
She dropped off Ella with Courtney and spotted Drew downstairs behind the counter.
"You're working today?"
"Matt's running late. As soon as he is here, I'm going over to the rink to skate"
"Review day"
"Yeah. Have you read any of them?"
"A few but I have something else going on right now. Which is why I am so happy Courtney said she wanted to watch Ella today"
"She loves that little girl, and it will be good practice"
"Why?"
"Courtney is pregnant" Drew said.
"Oh my god Drew!" she said hugging him "I am so happy for you."
"Thank you" he said, "I am so excited."
"I bet. I mean I was so nervous, but I had no idea how Chuck was gonna take it and I didn't know how Nate was gonna handle it and…"
"You're now married to Chuck" he said.
"And we are expecting too" she replied, and he hugged her then made a face.
"What?" she asked.
"Well, I'm excited to be a dad and I'm excited to be an uncle again but I just realized that my girlfriend and my best friend are now both really hormonal"
"Well, you can always go skate" she replied, and he nodded.
"Good advice" he said.
"You're welcome" she replied. "I need to go. I am already late"
"One thing though before you go"
"Okay?"
"Courtney and I were wondering if you would be godmother to our child when he or she gets here"
"I would be so honored" she said and hugged him. "I love you both so much, but I really have to go"
"Thank you. See you later" he said.
"My dad is gonna pick up Ella later. He wants to spend the evening with her. He is kinda lonely so I told him that she would be here"
"Okay I will have her already to go with him"
"Thank you"
She headed out and arrived at the Oak Room as Nate was being arrested. She saw Chuck and walked over to him.
"What happened?"
"Bart found out Nate was playing him" Blair said.
"He thinks having Nate arrested will force me to go to him to make a deal" Chuck replied.
"And?"
"I'm not about to let Nate rot in jail" Chuck said
She nodded then hugged him.
"Do everything in your power Chuck."
"I will" he replied
"I'm gonna call Sage and Howard" she replied and stepped away. She got out her phone and dialed Sage's number.
"Hello" Sage said.
"Hey Sage, this is Elizabeth"
"Liz, hey"
"Nate needs you. He was just arrested."
"Oh my god I'm on my way" Sage replied "Do I need to call his…"
"I'll call the Captain; I'll think about calling Anne."
"I'll keep you updated if you keep me updated" Sage replied.
"Of course," she replied and she hung up. She got to Howards number and hit dial.
"Liz, hey" Howard replied.
"Hey, um Nate needs you. Bart just had him arrested. Sage, his girlfriend is already headed that way. She will meet you there. I was gonna call Anne but you and I both know that she hates me so maybe best if you did"
"I see what Nate says about your rambling" he joked.
"Thanks"
"Also, congrats on your and Chuck's marriage"
"Thank you" she replied "Please keep me updated on Nate. I know Chuck's lawyers are doing everything in their power as is Chuck. We both love Nate so much."
"He loves you both too" he replied. "Talk to you late Liz"
"You too"
She hung up and spotted Blair and Ivy.
"Where did Chuck and Serena go?"
"To make a deal with the Devil" Blair replied.
*Chuck and Bart*
"Okay I'm here. I know that's why you had Nate arrested so tell me, what it gonna take to get you to drop the charges?"
"It's quite simple actually. Stop your witch hunt and leave New York for Moscow tonight…alone"
"Moscow? As in Russia?" Chuck asked
"It's a lovely place. Real Estate market is booming. Lots of opportunity for a young Entrepreneur like yourself"
"And how long do you expect me to live in exile? Till Ella is 10, 18, 25?
"Forever" Bart replied "You can never come back to New York"
"That's not a deal because I don't get to watch my daughter grow up with that. I don't get to see my unborn children grow either. I would be leaving my wife to raise our children on her own and I'm not about to do that to her. That's a different kind of prison sentence. I will find another way to get Nate out of Jail."
"There is no other way. Don't you get it? I'm very close friends with the police commissioner. The only person who can get Nate out of Jail is me"
"We'll see how powerful you are" Chuck said "When you are locked inside with him"
Elizabeth walked into the Empire when her phone rang.
"Hello" she answered.
"Hey it's Drew"
"What's up?"
"The car that Courtney and Ella were in going over to the Rockefeller center was hit by a hit and run. They are at the hospital just right there…"
"On my way" she and ran back outside hailing a cab. She hit dial to Chuck's name before he could say hello she shouted, "Ella and Courtney were in an accident."
"Be right there" he said, and they hung up. She texted him where realizing she didn't say.
She got to the hospital and ran right in.
"Ma'am can I help you"
"My daughter was just brought here. Ella Bass. She's only…"
"This way" a lady said. They walked into a room, and she saw Ella sitting on Courtney's lap. Courtney's head had a scrape And Ella just looked bruised from the straps.
"I'm so sorry Liz, you trusted me with her and then…"
"This isn't your fault" she replied then turned to the doctor "Will they be okay?"
"Both perfectly fine" the doctor said. "Just some bumps and bruises"
The doctor left the room.
"Were you hit or did the driver hit someone"
"The driver hit another vehicle" Courtney replied.
Elizabeth stared pacing.
"I'm so…"
"Stop apologizing. It is honestly not your fault" Elizabeth replied.
"I had Drew call your dad too."
"Thank you" she replied
*Chuck and Bart*
Chuck ran up to the doors of the hospital.
"Looking for me?" Bart asked.
"Where's Elizabeth? She called and said Ella was in an accident"
"Ella is fine, okay? She's fine because I decided she could be fine. I hope her babysitter is fine though. Seemed she hit her head on the window. Maybe next time I make a different decision. So perhaps you'd like to reconsider my earlier offer"
"Are you threating Ella with physical harm? She could have gotten seriously hurt today"
"But she didn't"
"This fight is between me and you. Leave everyone else out of it especially my daughter. She is innocent."
"If you want your best friend to get out of jail, your stepmother to enjoy her happy marriage, your wife to continue making her music career, your children to have long lives. Then a new life on the other side of the world is your only option. You do everything in consideration of your children right? So do this for them. Next time it won't be her that's in harm's way, it might be Elizabeth. She likes taking the subway sometimes, right? Especially to Brooklyn."
The doctor cleared them and they headed home. She walked into the bedroom to see a suitcase on the bed with clothes in it but just Chuck's. She didn't like the looks of it.
"What's going on?" she asked. Chuck grabbed Ella from her and held her close kissing the top of her head. Elizabeth glanced at him then the suitcase. "I'm gonna ask you again and the answer better be were going to the Hamptons to stay a while"
He looked at her and just held Ella closer.
"You're not allowed to leave us Chuck" she said starting to cry. "You can't leave us"
"I don't want to but it the only way"
"Find another one" she shouted tears falling "because you are not allowed to leave us."
"My father is responsible for the accident today. It was to teach me a lesson"
"Are you serious!" she shouted. "He put our child in harm's way to prove a point. Is he insane? He could've killed her. He could've killed Courtney and her unborn child. Three lives were put at risk today Chuck. Not just Ella's"
"Which is why I have to do this"
"No!" she said.
"Elizabeth" he said putting a hand on her cheek.
"Let us come with. We can move to London. We love London. We can buy the house that we stayed at on our wedding night. We can live out the rest of our lives there. No Bart, No Dan. Just us and our children."
"You can't. That's the deal I made with Bart"
"I forbid you" she cried and he pulled her close and she cried into his chest.
"I love you, and I love Ella. And I'm gonna love all of our other children, but right now I gotta go but I'm not letting you go without a fight okay"
She pulled away and looked at him.
"I waited 4 years to finally get you and I'm not letting that be it for us. I'm gonna find my way back to you. Just trust me okay"
"Always" she replied. He closed the suitcase. He handed Ella to her and kissed the top of Ella's head then kissed Elizabeth and left. Elizabeth sank to the floor with Ella and cried. A few moments later Blair walked in.
"She's in here" Blair yelled then her dad appeared too. He took Ella from her and Blair helped her up.
"I'm gonna go put her down. She's had a long day" her dad said.
"Wait" Elizabeth said and stood up and gave Ella a kiss on her forehead. "I love you baby girl. Mommy will be okay, you just have fun with grandpa okay."
"You want me to take her to the loft?"
"I'll stay with Liz" Blair replied to Rufus. "Brooklyn might be the safest place for Ella right now"
"Thank you Blair" her dad said.
"Bye baby" Elizabeth said and her dad and daughter left the room. Blair turned to her.
"Talk to me Liz" she replied.
"Bart made Chuck leave to protect us. Ella was in an accident today with Courtney and it could have been a lot worse. And the whole time I was waiting in the hospital for them to be released I kept thinking about the accident and everything that happened around it and…"
"Chuck's gone?"
"He had to and I don't want him to be" she cried.
Blair grabbed some tissues and wiped Elizabeth's eyes.
"Take a shower and dress up in the best cocktail dress you can find"
"Blair I don't want to go to a party"
"I have an idea. Meet at my place in an hour. If you don't come I will have Serena escort you personally" Blair said then thought about it "Actually give me one second. She went into the closet and found a dress then went through Elizabeth's stuff and found other things and put them in a bag.
"What are you doing?" Elizabeth asked wiping her tears.
"Well I don't exactly trust you to show up on your own. I know that the minute I leave you are gonna ball of on that bed holding" Blair said and picked up the picture of Elizabeth and Chuck next to the nightstand. "This photo. When you need to fight for your family"
"Let's go" Elizabeth replied standing up and grabbing the bag.
Later she finished getting dressed at Blair's and went down to they foyer to see Sage, Ivy, Georgina, Serena and of course Blair.
"Are we starting a club?" Elizabeth asked and Blair handed her something. "Is this like when you did your bridesmaid competition?"
"That's the Liz I know and love. Did the shower help?"
"Yeah, thank you" she replied.
"I have called you all here because you are the most conniving group of scammers and schemers I know. And Serena you are my best friend"
"I don't think I am a schemer" Elizabeth replied.
"Oh but you are. How did you get Chuck's suite number during Lost Weekend Junior year" Blair said
"Right, that." She said.
"And you have the biggest stake in this."
"I don't get why Georgina is here?" Serena asked.
"You can't have an evil cabal without the 'Queen of Con' and frankly I should've been given more notice"
"You lost your royal status when I took your phone at Cotillion" Sage replied.
"Phone stealing? Seriously?" Georgina asked "That's the training bra of treachery"
"Enough!" Blair said "If I wanted fighting I would have called my minions. Now I need her here. I need you all here"
"Are you sure Chuck would want you involved in his war?" Serena asked.
"It's not his choice. Bart did something that resulted in my god daughter getting hurt. And then turned around and took her daddy away. This is for Ella." Blair said and Elizabeth smiled "Now I want you all to get Bart talking and record him on your phones. Bart Bass may have been able to fool the FBI. But he has never had to face off against Blair Waldorf and her bitches"
They all started to leave and Elizabeth grabbed Blair's arm and she turned to her.
"Thank you" she replied. "Growing up I never really had a best girlfriend. There was Jenny who was my sister and sometimes I wanted to pull her hair out and then there was Vanessa and well most of the time she was super judgmental. So thank you for being mine, even if it took a school academic rivalry and a few boyfriends in common for us to get here. Which is why I don't want you to just be Ella's god mother, I want you to be these babies as well."
"I'd be honored" Blair replied and they hugged.
They all walked in together. They all went their separate ways. She watched everyone doing their part.
"Hey" Serena said standing next to her.
"Hey" she replied back
"Have you heard anything about Nate?"
"I told his dad to give me updates. I haven't heard from him so I'm hoping that's good. I've just been so focused on Ella and Chuck"
"How are you with the party?"
"Well if I don't fall to the floor than were doing okay. I just wish Chuck was here. I'd settle for Nate."
"Well I don't know your tells but if you need anything I'm here"
"Thank you." She replied "I just wish now I could drink"
"Yeah they frown upon pregnant women drinking. Do you know the sex yet?"
"Too early, but I'm thinking boys" she replied.
"I bet Chuck would be excited" Serena said then looked at her
"He would be happy with either sex really" she smiled. "But Ella is his princess so…"
"Serena" Dan said "There you are"
"Dan what are you doing here?" Elizabeth asked.
"He's honoring his new mentor Bart Bass. If you'll excuse me I need to be anywhere but here. If you need me find okay" Serena said to Elizabeth walking away.
"Seriously Dan? He's your mentor now?"
"I'm sorry Lizzie. I really am. I am an ass if you want you can punch me a thousand times over. I would deserve it. Especially from you"
"As tempting as that is I have a part I have to play" she replied then walked away.
*Dan and Chuck*
After talking to his sister and then talking to Serena, he stepped out for just a second when he saw Chuck walking toward him.
"Humphrey" Chuck said. "If you love your sister, then you will help me"
"Lizzie is my favorite person on this planet" Dan replied. "But she's not happy with me right now, especially since your father chose me to introduce him tonight"
"Don't" Chuck replied. "Bart Bass purposely had a cab driver that was carrying Ella and Courtney, Drew's girlfriend, crash into another vehicle. Thankfully it was just some bruises from the car seat and Courtney bumped her head. The point is he did it to prove that he can reach me or my family anywhere."
"He hurt Ella?"
"He did then he threaten Elizabeth's life and right now it isn't just her life. She is carrying twins and if anything happened to the three of them I would be devastated."
"Why didn't she tell me?"
"Like you said, she's not happy with your right now. Which hurts her. You and I may not have always been on the same side when it came to things but you and I have always both loved Elizabeth. And I put her and my children's wellbeing before all others so I need you to instead introduce me. Because the thing I didn't tell you is that he forced me to leave town to keep them safe and tried to kill me."
"I'm in" Dan replied
"Another thing" Chuck asked. "I need your phone"
"Why?"
"He is gonna have me taken somewhere and its gonna be to get rid of me. He will expect me to have my phone to record"
"When mine will be in your jacket pocket recording?"
"Exactly"
Dan handed it over and then walked back inside.
"Hey" Sage said to her
"How is Nate?" she asked.
"His dad hasn't updated me so hopefully good"
"How's the calling going?"
"Good?" Sage replied.
"I'm gonna check on Blair" Elizabeth said and walked that way. She saw Iman "Have you seen Blair?"
"That way" she pointed. She walked that way.
"…I hope that wasn't the one Chuck was on?" Bart said.
The news kept going about the accident. Elizabeth grabbed Blair's hand as Bart walked away from them. Serena joined them.
"…Mr. Daniel Humphrey" the man said.
They walked out to watch. Both holding one of Elizabeth's hands.
"I would like to introduce an icon of New York Real Estate and a pillar of our community. He is the center of the Bass family and he's a personal inspiration to me" Dan said looking at them. "Please welcome my brother in law Charles Bass"
Chuck came out on stage.
"Thank you. Thank you. My father is being honored here as a Humanitarian, but the last time I checked Humanitarians value human life and he just tried to have his own son killed after earlier almost having his granddaughter killed" He said and looked at Bart "Isn't that why you look so surprised? You put me on that plane to die?"
Security took him away as Dan walked over to them.
"At least you guys know Chuck's okay" Dan said
"Thank you Dan" Blair replied "You did the right thing. For Ella and for Liz"
She turned to Elizabeth.
"I'm gonna leave you two. I'm gonna go find Serena and I will call you to check in. If I don't hear from you I will send a search party"
"Thank you B" she said hugging her.
Blair walked away and she turned to Dan.
"That was brave of you Dan" she said "Thank you for doing the right thing for me and my family"
"He's Ella's father, he is your family. So in a way that makes him my family. I love you Lizzie. You're my favorite person on this planet"
"Besides Ella of course"
"Of course" he replied "I would do anything for you Lizzie and I know that what I said was wrong. I was in the moment and I wanted you to hurt 'cause I hurt."
"I had a very smart husband remind me that I was the one who got his attention all on my own. Way before you and Serena were together."
"It's because of him that I did this for you guys. He found me outside and told me everything." He said "Twins?"
"Yeah" she replied as Bart walked over. "I don't want to be here for this. Good luck"
She hugged him then walked away. She went looking for Chuck
*Chuck and Bart*
Chuck stood outside on the rooftop he heard the door opened and turned to see his father.
"Thank you for waiting" Bart replied.
"I had no choice, your security guards locked me out."
"I wanted for us to have a chance to talk privately"
Chuck turned on the recording on his phone.
"You know, I knew you were cold and ruthless but I never thought you'd try to kill your own son, but then again you did cause an accident today that could have hurt your granddaughter more than you did."
"We had a deal" Bart said. "Your friend is out of jail. You were supposed to be on a plane to Russia."
"You never intended for me to make it to Moscow. You arranged for the pilot to parachute to safety while I was left to die on the plane."
"You have always had a wonderfully vivid imagination. No wonder you fell for an artist from Brooklyn" Bart said taking the phone out of his hand and throwing it. "But I warned you earlier…accidents can happen. You wouldn't want anything to happen to your artist, now would you? Especially since she is carrying twins."
Elizabeth looked everywhere to see if she could find Chuck or at least a way to find Chuck. She was already almost to her freak out point which was not helping her look. She spotted Sage, Ivy and Georgina standing around and walked over to them.
"Have you seen Chuck?" she asked.
"He hasn't left the building." Georgina said.
"How do you know?" Ivy said.
"The security guards at the exits are under strict instructions to inform us of all Bass departures. I have my ways of insuring their loyalty."
"So he's still here" she replied and started taking deep breaths
"Are you okay?" Sage asked and grabbed a water and handed it to her. She drank it and nodded.
"Thank you" she replied "If the Bass' are all here then where is Bart?"
"Last time I saw him, he was getting on the elevator." Sage said.
"Thanks, Sage." she said "For the water"
"When I told Nate what we were doing tonight and that you would be here, he told me to keep an eye on you. Said that you would definitely need it tonight"
"I wasn't sure about for him, when we first met. But you're a keeper. I'm glad he has you" Elizabeth said and hugged her then walked away. She saw the line at the elevator then looked down at her belly.
"I am so sorry kids but momma has some stairs to climb. We all know where Daddy is at"
*Chuck and Bart*
Chuck looked at his father.
"Tell me…did you try to have me killed because you hate me so much or because I know too much?"
"You know, no matter how hard I tried to turn you into a man, it still remains the one big failure of my life" Bart replied.
"You're not a man. A man accepts responsibility for his actions. A man takes care of his family. A man doesn't pay a mother to abandon her child and then tell that child his mother is dead. A man doesn't try to have his own son killed! But you can tell the police what kind of a man you are."
"Your naiveté is adorable. Even if I didn't have the police commissioner in my pocket, who do you think they're gonna believe? Huh? The man of the year or some sad, pathetic, little boy?!" Bart said backing Chuck closer to the ledge. Chuck threw a punch and hit him right in the face. Bart swung back and Chuck ducked and Bart went over the ledge right as the roof door opened.
Elizabeth walked out onto the roof tired from climbing those stairs to see Chuck duck and Bart go over the side.
"Oh my god" she shouted and Chuck turned to her. He ran over to her.
"Are you okay?" he asked
"The question is are you?" she asked.
"I'm fine"
"Your father just went over the side of the roof of a New York Skyscraper."
"It will be okay" he replied.
"Chuck, what if you get arrested?"
"Self-defence" he replied "And you are the only witness because he had the cameras shut off"
"What?"
"His intentions tonight were for me to go over that roof." He replied. "He caught me recording on my phone, what he didn't know is that I had your brothers phone recording in my other pocket."
"You conspired with Dan?" she smiled and he nodded and she kissed him.
"We do need to get out of here though."
"We shouldn't run" she replied.
"I will go to the precinct tomorrow" he replied "Right now I just want to be with you"
"Ella is in Brooklyn"
"Let's go"
