"Stop bouncing your leg, you will be fine." Ace puts her hand on Graham's leg.
"How do you know that," Graham is getting more nervous while waiting to be called back.
"Because I have faith. I also go over your whole body regularly with my eyes, hands and lips. You do the same with me." Graham covers Ace's hand with his own.
"Can we please not talk about that here." Cheeks growing crimson Graham asks Ace.
"What? Our very active and mind blowing sex life." Ace needles him.
"ACE," Graham tries to moan quietly as he throws his head back.
"See your leg isn't bouncing anymore." Ace turns her hand around wrapping her fingers in Graham's.
"You did that to distract me, didn't you?"
"I did," Ace leans over to kiss his cheek. "It worked didn't it?"
"It did." Graham hears his name being called. "That's me, I gotta go. I love you." After giving Ace a quick kiss he lets go of her hand and walks back with his nurse.
"I love you too." After 5 minutes Ace's phone rings. "Finally Donut." Ace walks out of the building to have some privacy in her phone call with Mel.
"Still on that nickname Ace. You eat better than I do now." Ace can feel the distaste for the nickname through the phone.
"I know, but I called you two months ago."
"I was at UNIT Moonbase doing some work for Kate."
"Ok, umm when is the next time you are free."
"What's wrong Ace?"
"What do you mean?"
"You used the word um." Mel knows that Ace has trained herself to not say that word.
"I have something to ask you, and I don't want to do it over the phone."
"I'm free right now."
"I'm not, I am currently waiting for Graham."
"Graham? How's that going?"
"Amazing, better than I could hope."
"Good, good. Why are you waiting for Graham?"
"He just needed me with him."
"What for?"
"Mel, I am not telling you. There are some things that will remain between Graham and I."
"Fine. Even though we all are family."
"Graham and I are different though. He and I are a couple."
"So."
"Mel can we change the subject, how long are you staying on earth?"
"A few months."
"Good, let's meet up. I need to ask you a few things about your time with Glitz."
"Why?"
"I need to know something and it isn't something that should be talked about over the phone."
"Ok, I will let you know when I am free. Are you ok Ace."
"I am. Thank you for making sure I didn't travel with that man."
"No need. I will let you go." They hang up and Ace walks back into the office to see Graham walking out of the hallway.
"How did it go?"
"Ok, I should know in a few weeks." Ace takes his hand as someone runs up to him.
"Graham," the woman who has dark hair says.
"Hello Patty, this is Ace. My partner, or as the kids and her brother would say, my girlfriend." Ace watches as the smile on Patty's face dim at the last word.
"How did the two of you meet?"
"Through an old friend. When I met Ace, I became happy again." Graham smiles at Ace who tries to tell him to stop with her eyes.
"Oh."
"Graham?" Asks Ace who is right next to him.
"Yes Ace."
"Well' I'll let you two be. Remember you need to do this appointment at least once a year."
"I will. I just got a little distracted. See you later Patty." Graham and Ace walk out.
"Graham, that woman likes you."
"What?"
"Are you that oblivious?"
"I must be. Though I only have eyes for one person. That person is you," Graham lifts her hand and brings it to his lips. "What did you do to keep yourself occupied when I was there?"
"I got a call back from Mel."
"Didn't you call her a few weeks ago?"
"I did, the morning after we had dinner with Liam and Cat."
"I did enjoy that night."
"Especially right before Cat showed up and after it was just the two of us." Graham laughs at that.
"What was the call about?"
"I have a few questions about her time with Glitz."
"Glitz, you have said his name in your sleep a few times."
"I have?"
"Yes, you know you can tell me anything."
"I do, I just need to ask Mel a few questions."
"Ok." Ace runs her hand down Graham's cheek.
"I promise you, I will tell you everything my love."
"I know. I am just concerned about you."
"Thank you, but it's about something that happened shortly before traveling with the Doctor."
"What?"
"I will tell you soon I promise. I think the reason I have been thinking about it is because I am ready for the next step."
"The next step?"
"When we get home." Ace smiles at him. The rest of the ride home is done in silence. Graham wondering what the next step is and Ace wondering how the conversation with Mel will go. A little while they get home Ace goes upstairs and grabs a small box.
"Graham," he turns to face her and she directs the both of them to the couch.
"What is that," Graham spies the small box.
"Graham, we spend every night together, and it seems that I sleep easier in your arms."
"I feel the same." Ace makes sure the box is easy to open.
"What I said about the next step is true, would you like to move in with me?"
"I would." Ace opens the box to reveal a new house key. Graham takes the key from Ace, gets up from the bowel where the keys are kept and adds it to his. As he moves back to Ace who stands up the two share a kiss.
