Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai
Chapter Two-hundred and forty-one: Alola, concluded
The feeling in the air in the heroes' classroom at trainer school was somber as everyone was breaking for the holidays, and some weren't even planning to come back. But at the same time, everyone was happy for one another and wished one another the best of luck wherever in the world that they go. Some of the students in the class turned to see it when Ash and Kukui walked into the classroom. "So what's the sitch?" Kenny asked.
"Oh, I was just helping Ash with getting all of the Pokémon he had here sent to Oak's Lab in Pallet Town, Kanto," Kukui explained, "Aside from Pikachu, Naganadel, and Melmetal who Ash is keeping on hand with him."
Nodding once, Ash said, "Yeah, I plan to do some traveling around the world after school lets out for the holidays," Ash said, "Learn what all is out there. As it's a new journey for me, I'm bringing Pikachu plus two Pokémon I got during the previous stretch of my journey before the one I'm about to go on."
Dawn saw that Ash had made it a habit of starting in new regions, or in this case journeys, with Pikachu plus two Pokémon he had used in the previous stretch of his journey. In the anime in Dawn's previous life, Ash only brought Pikachu with him, but here he brings some extra muscle. When going from Sinnoh to Unova, Ash brought Pikachu, Infernape, and Gardevoir. When going from Unova to Kalos, Ash brought Pikachu, Charizard, and Steelix. When going from Kalos to Alola, Ash broiught Pikachu, Greninja, and Goodra. And now, Ash when leaving Alola for the next stretch in his journey will be bringing Pikachu, Naganadel, and Melmetal.
Considering what Ash did in the anime AFTER Alola, having Naganadel and Melmetal along for the ride totally ought to help him out here.
Looking to his peers, Ash asked, "What all are you guys gonna do?"
"I plan to travel to Mossdeep City," Sophocles began, "Aside from checking out the Mossdeep Space Center, I heard that there's a store in Mossdeep City that sells special Luvdisc-shaped cookies. I plan to get a box to bring to Misty before I go visit her. I got it from her sisters that Misty is awake now, so I... wanna bring her a nice little something."
Lana nodded once in understanding. "It's real sweet how far you're willing to go for her, Sophocles." Gesturing to herself, Lana said, "I... I have to work on getting used to eating more. I also wanna try and find that Draco boy who moved to Alola from Galar with his family."
"I plan to do more work for my family's restaurant," Mallow said, "We got a boon thanks to the Contest season, and thanks to advertising that Ash and Serena both gave the restaurant their Seal of Approval, business is going to continue looking fine."
"Since when did Ash and I 'give our Seal of Approval' to your family's restaurant?" Serena asked.
Shrugging, Mallow said, "Neither of you guys did. But as you're the first Contest Kahuna, and Ash is the first Champion of Alola, that makes the two of you celebrities here in Alola. As such, I decided to advertise my family's restaurant as saying it has the Seal of Approval from you guys, as a place having celebrity endorsement helps it to bring in customers."
"So you used their likeness without consent from either of them just to boost customer count for your family's restaurant," Trip said.
"I was worried the boom in customer count from the Contest season would die off afterwards," Mallow said, "And that restaurant is my family's livelihood."
Sighing, Ash said, "Mallow, your family's restaurant has good food, and I would have consented anyway. I just wished that you had asked me first." Serena likewise wished that Mallow had asked first before doing anything.
Gesturing to herself, Lillie said, "I plan to keep up on my studies."
Holding up his hand, Kiawe said, "I plan to continue my Island Challenge, and maybe even try to become an Island Kahuna."
"What about you, Serena?" Ash asked.
"Oh, I'm actually going to start being a spokesperson for the Malasada Shop," Serena explained, "I agreed to do a few commercials after getting my mom in on things to help keep an eye on me in case something weird crops up." Looking to Ash, Serena said, "And you plan to see the world, right?"
After Ash nodded once in the affirmative, Kenny said, "Me, Dawn, and Trip plan to do the same. We're even bringing my girlfriend Mina with us." With hands on his hips, Kenny boasted, "The world shall taste the power of cringe!"
"I'm not sure what's worse," Sophocles remarked dryly, "The world experiencing Team Scorn, or the world experiencing Kenny's brand of crazy."
After some time, the classmates left to do their holiday things. This actually saw Ash return home to Pallet Town in the Kanto region. As for the reborn trainers, they as well as their families returned home to Twinleaf Town in the Sinnoh region. Mina, who lost her job because the place she worked at burned down, was allowed to move in with Kenny at his family's place. The return home to Sinnoh gave the houses of Berlitz and Harris time to unwind and relax before they end up getting up to any more business, such as what all laid ahead of the reborn trainers.
Dawn also put up what awards and other symbols of merit she had hearned while in Alola; this included the Island Trial Challenge Amulet she got (given by default as she took the Island Challenge), and the Kantonian Gym Badge she got from the Kantonian Gym tourist attraction. She also considered leaving her Z-Power Ring and her various Z-Crystals, but decided to bring them along just in case. As soon as Dawn was done putting up her trophies and such she had gotten in Alola, she prepared to head out of her room, but when she opened the door she saw Trip was about to knock on it.
"Oh Dawn," Trip said, "Mom wanted to see us. She even asked us to go grab Kenny too."
Dawn, with a curious look on her face, decided to go with Trip to go grab Kenny first, Mina decided to tag along as well, before coming back to see Johanna. She had settled quite well back home, although she still showed signs of being sore in areas of her person hurt in the attack on the Melemele market square back in Alola. Dawn actually was a bit worried that Johanna would freak to learn that Dawn had caught the Pokémon used to carry out said attack, but Johanna was surprisingly chill about it, saying that it wasn't the Pokémon itself but rather the trainer who at the time commanded it.
Regardless, Dawn with Trip, Kenny, and Mina met with Johanna, as all of them sat around in the living room of the Berlitz residence. "So what's the sitch, Mrs. B?" asked Kenny as he and the others all looked to Johanna.
"An older woman living over in Floaroma Town said that she and her husband have a few somethings actually," Johanna began, "Somethings that they fear may be taken by Team Scorn should those evil criminals learn of them. They heard that you Dawn had come back to Sinnoh, and were hoping to entrust said things to you, on the basis that you're the Champion of Sinnoh thus Team Scorn wouldn't wanna try and steal from you." Gently shaking her head, Johanna went on, "What they have... it's rather hard to believe. But I had seen evidence supporting the claim." To Trip and Kenny, Johanna went on, "I was able to convince them to let you boys in on helping to protect the... things... from Team Scorn's potential greed. You boys, similar to Dawn, are strong trainers clearly on the side of good against Team Scorn."
Pumping a fist in the air, Kenny said, "Alright! Let's set a course for adventure!" Johanna giggled in amusement at the ecxcitement of her daughter's friend's excitement over getting to go on a trip. Johanna wished Dawn and the others well before they got ready to head off to Floaroma Town, flying there on Tsukune, Deelia, Black, and Mina's Dragonite. The reborn trainers had no idea what to expect, but if the old couple reached out to Johanna due to hearing that Dawn was back in Sinnoh, then there had to be a good reason for the summons.
...
Over in Floaroma Town, the reborn trainers landed, recalled their dragons, then went to the residence of the older woman who called for Dawn; the reborn trainers were provided with a handwritten note by Johanna that had the address. Dawn knocked on the door, and after a few moments it was opened by an older woman dressed like a Socialite from the Sinnoh games in Dawn's previous life. "Ah, Champion Dawn," the Socialite said, "I'm rather honored that you actually answered my call."
"Well I am curious as to what it was you had told my mom about while saying you fear that Team Scorn may try and take it," Dawn explained as she, Kenny, Trip, and Mina were let in.
The Socialite led them further into her house and eventually into the living room, where a Gentleman saw sitting on a sofa, sipping from a glass of tea. In front of the sofa that the Gentleman sat on was a Pokémon egg on a cushion. That on it's own wasn't anything special, but the reborn trainers all recognized what kind of egg that it was, as well as knew what would be hatching from the egg. The reborn trainers totally understood why the Socialite was worried that Team Scorn should they learn of the egg would try to steal it.
It was a Manaphy egg.
Gesturing to the Manaphy egg, the Socialite said, "My husband, who you see sitting on the sofa, found that mysterious Pokémon egg while we were vacationing at the resort near Sunyshore City," the Socialite explained, "We looked up all manner of information on Pokémon eggs that we could, but failed to find anything coming even remotely close to this egg here. As such, we have reason to believe that it's something special, and from that we've reasoned that Team Scorn were they to learn of the mysterious Pokémon egg here would try to steal it."
"That's where you come in, Champion Dawn," the Gentleman said, "We're hoping to entrust this mysterious Pokémon egg, as well as the other little ones we fear will be taken by Team Scorn should they learn of them, to you. After all, who's better for the job of protecting precious little ones from evil criminals than the girl who was able to defeat Cynthia and take her place as the Champion of Sinnoh?"
"Other little ones?" Trip asked, "Well who are th-" Trip was cut off when two little Pokémon came flying out from a room in the older couple's home, zooming right in for the Socialite with one of them pawing at her hand like a pet trying to beg for food. The Socialite giggled cutely in amusement and went about preparing lunch for the little Pokémon, although what said Pokémon were caught the reborn trainers by surprise, given that they were Mew and Jirachi, a pair of mythical Pokémon.
Gesturing to where Mew and Jirachi followed the Socialite off to, the Gentleman said, "Those are the little ones right there. They often stay here with my wife and I, I suspect it's due to how our home is somewhat out of the way and seldom ever sees people come over without being asked. We have some awareness that these two are special ones, although we aren't sure how much so. Regardless, we're also fearing that Team Scorn will want to try and take these two, so as such we were also going to ask you, Champion Dawn, to take care of them and protect them from Team Scorn."
Holding up a hand, Trip said, "Two special Pokémon and a mysterious Pokémon egg may be a tad much to ask Dawn alone to take over caring for. If you'll allow it, I think that Kenny and I can help ease Dawn's burden by having her, him, and me each take a different one."
"Yes, Johanna suggest that over the phone," the Gentleman remarked with a nod. After some agreeing, it was settled that Dawn would take Mew, Trip would take the mysterious Pokémon egg, and Kenny would take Jirachi. "Anyway, Champion Dawn and her companion," the Gentleman said as his wife looked on after having fed Mew and Jirachi, "Now that the little ones there are yours, would either of you be interested in nicknaming them?"
Kenny looked down at Jirachi and said, "Yeah, I'm getting vibes that this one here ought to be named Kami."
Looking at Mew who hung over her shoulder like Ash's Pikachu sat on Ash's shoulder, Dawn said, "I'm thinking that I'll name this one here as Froot Loop."
...
The reborn trainers, after thanking the elderly couple for their time, took off. Dawn still couldn't believe that she and the group just got three mythical Pokémon like that; she strongly suspected it was related to how, in the BDSP games in her previous life, there were events to get Mew, Jirachi, and Manaphy in the games. Dawn also wondered how, when Goh starts to get involved as Ash is bound to be running into him soon, things will play out between Goh and Dawn herself, given that she literally has Mew now. She half-worried that Goh may travel cross-region just to harass her for Mew.
"So now what do we do?" Mina asked.
Gesturing to the mysterious Pokémon egg he was carrying, Trip said, "I say we walk around until we get enough steps in to get this mofo to hatch. I think that-"
"Oh, Champion Dawn!" a young adult female voice called out, making Dawn and the others turn to see a Nurse Joy come jogging up to them. "Someone called for you at the Pokémon Center," Nurse Joy explained, "Word got around that you're back in Sinnoh and were seen coming here to Floaroma Town, so a call on the video phone was sent to the Pokémon Center here."
Curious, Dawn and the others decided to go see what the call was about. To their surprise when they got to the Pokémon Center, the reborn trainers saw that it was Roark, the Oreburgh City gym leader, who was calling for them. "Oh Roark, what's up?" Dawn asked, "How are you and Maylene getting along?"
"The wedding's actually happening soon," Roark said, "But something happened here in Oreburgh City that..." Roark trailed off, a troubled and resigned look on his face as he let out a likewise sigh. "...That had put a dampener on Maylene's overall mood. She's rather upset. I don't suppose you and your group you're traveling with would like to meet me and my dad in Oreburgh City for a sit and lunch?"
"Ooh, your dad is Byron," Trip said, "He's also a gym leader same as you but he uses steel type Pokémon. Pretty sweet."
"Yes, I remember you from when you challenged my gym a while ago, Trip," Roark said, "You're apparently something of a fan of my dad's due to him being a well-known trainer who uses steel type Pokémon." Dawn told Roark that she, Kenny, Trip, and Mina will see him as soon as they're able to get to Oreburgh City. With a new destination set, the reborn trainers set off to continue their adventure. Dawn felt rather nostalgic as she was adventuring around in Sinnoh once again, even though this adventure was a jaunt from Floaroma Town to Oreburgh City.
As for why the group went on foot, they wanted to let Trip get steps in to help facilitate the hatching of the mysterious Pokémon egg. Surprisingly enough, the egg ended up hatching right as the reborn trainers stepped foot into Oreburgh City (things were real life now so there was a lot more distance), resulting in the mysterious Pokémon egg hatching into a Manaphy, as expected. After considering things for a moment, Trip said, "I think that I'll name Manaphy here as Rikku."
"Well I hope that Rikku there will we willing to behave itself as we meet with Roark and Byron," Dawn said, "Something about part of Roark's tone during the video call has me apprehensive."
"You think Roark and Byron are having a row again?" Kenny asked.
Gently shaking her head, Dawn said, "I don't think it's very likely, given that Roark said that Maylene is personally affected by the thing that happened." Dawn hoped that things weren't too bad, especially as Roark and Maylene are soon to have their wedding. Whatever the bad thing was, hopefully it can be settled well enough so that the happy couple to be could enjoy their wedding and the honeymoon afterwards.
...
The reborn trainers ended up meeting Roark and Byron at a restaurant in Oreburgh City, with Roark saying that it was a lunch meeting to those outside the group when they saw Sinnoh's Champion dining with two of Sinnoh's gym leaders. Roark and Byron also were surprised to meet Mina, who Kenny introduced as his girlfriend. Once things were settled, Roark got down to the business of why they were having the lunch meeting, although what Roark told the reborn trainers had come as something of a shock to them.
"Maylene's first Lucario had died," Roark said, "I say her first Lucario because the Riolu she owns had recently evolved into Lucario."
"Maylene's first Lucario," Dawn said, her expression somber and grim, "That's the one that was brutalized by Paul's Torterra when he came for a rematch against Maylene due to losing to her on his first try."
Roark nodded once in confirmation. "Yes, I remember that. I'm also familiar with the fact that Paul is now working on cleaning up his act." The reborn trainers nodded in confirmation, and even told Roark and Byron about how Paul had helped out in Alola, even going so far as to push a little girl out of the way of some falling debris, getting hit and taking an injury in the little girl's place. "...That is noble, I will admit," Roark said, "But given how upset Maylene is over her first Lucario's passing, I'm not too sure if she'd be willing to hear anything suggesting that Paul is becoming a better person."
Gesturing to Roark, Kenny asked, "Well how did Maylene's first Lucario die?"
Roark, with an unamused scowl on his face, jerked a thumb at Byron. "You can thank my dad here for that."
Turning to look right at Byron, Trip with a mildly disappointed expression said, "What did you do, Byron-senpai?"
"Err, umm, well," Byron began, clearly unsure how to proceed as he was put on the spot, "I came here when I heard that there was a huge fossil found in Oreburgh Mine, and that it needed to be dug out. Excited to dig out a huge fossil, I immediately came over. When it came time to work, I eagerly started to dig in order to get the large fossil out. I..." Letting out an embarrassed whistle, Byron said, "I... in my hastiness to get that fossil out, had caused a cave in at the mine. The mine was recently cleared out of its rubble from the cave in, but eight humans workers and twelve Pokémon helping them in the mine, one of which being my soon to be daughter-in-law's Lucario, were killed in the cave in."
"According to the team that cleared out all of the rubble from the mine," Roark explained, "Maylene's first Lucario was far enough in the mine helping out that, even if it were in peek condition, it still most likely wouldn't be able to escape the cave in, meaning it most likely would have been killed anyway."
Arching a wry eyebrow, Dawn said, "For a man who caused a cave in that claimed twenty lives, I'm surprised Byron isn't being harassed for it right now."
"That's... because no-one outside of the six of us are aware the cave in at Oreburgh Mine was caused by a human," Roark said, "Public belief is that it was a random natural occurrence. Anyway, during the clearing out of the rubble, after the bodies of those who died were recovered, I was able to get out the fossil my dad was digging out, and as such I got credit for its excavation."
Gesturing to Byron, Mina said, "Even though your dad did a lot of the work?"
"I... can't reveal my role in the removal of that awesome fossil," Byron said, "Not without also revealing that I'm the one who caused the cave in at Oreburgh Mine due to my excited recklessness. I guess my son getting the credit and glory for getting that fossil if part of the karma coming my way."
"And speaking of," Roark said to the reborn trainers, "Were you guys aware that my dad here has so graciously offered to pay the expenses for the wedding ceremony for me and Maylene, as well as pay for me and Maylene's honeymoon?" Byron looked shocked when Roark said that, a kind of shock one only expresses when they realize that they were caught with their metaphorical balls in a vice-grip. The reborn trainers could tell that Roark was blackmailing his dad, and given what he had on Byron, the blackmail was quite powerful and secure.
"...Yeah, only the six of us here knows the truth about the cave in," Roark said, "So if it could be kept that way..."
"No need to worry," Dawn said, "You can count on us."
"I'm actually looking forward to the wedding," Kenny said, "Assuming of course that I'm invited." Roark nodded once in agreement, and said that he'd send invites to the wedding to Kenny, Dawn, Trip, and Mina. Roark also said he'd send invites to the wedding to Ash and Brock, as they traveled with Dawn and Kenny while the two of them were going through the Sinnoh stretch of their journey. After talk of wedding invites was settled, the reborn trainers did some catching up with Roark and Byron, capping off with tales from their time in the Alola region.
"You're kidding!" Byron said, "Alola's got a Pokémon League now?"
"Yeah, and Ash is the first Champion of Alola," Dawn said.
Roark gave an amused smirk. "I always figured that Ash was destined for greatness. I just didn't expect it to be him becoming a region's Champion!" Gently shaking his head, Roark said, "I wonder how Maylene will react to it when she hears that Ash is now a region's Champion."
"And speaking of Maylene," Dawn said, "I actually kind of wanna see her, check up on her to see how she's doing. She did, after all, lose one of her Pokémon, and I bet that it cannot be good for a trainer to go through."
"Like how the Pokémon of that Katsuku boy you mentioned lost their trainer?" Byron said.
Nodding onced, Dawn said, "Yeah, and after they were handed over to Ideku's custody, he prioritized making sure they were given the help they need to come to terms with losing their first trainer, even though said first trainer was Ideku's older brother." The reborn trainers actually haven't seen Ideku since before Katsuku had died over in the Alola region, they only heard how he's doing. They made it a point to check up on Ideku the next time they're able to get in contact with him, but for now they had to check up on Maylene, hoping that she wasn't too bad off.
...
Maylene when the reborn trainers had met her was not sad or crying, she had gotten that out of her system. But she was still resigned over the death of her first Lucario. They were also a tad surprised by Maylene's appearance; they remembered her hair was now combed and brushed straight without the bits curving up, and she now wore glasses. However, what really surprised the reborn trainers was the fact that the former gym leader was now, with all due respect, very obese; she looked as plump and fat as Dawn does when she wears the fat suit that Kenny got for the Kenny Harris Studios movies.
"Yeah, fuck Paul," Maylene said, her tone and expression resentful and bitter.
"I... understand that you're upset with the death of your first Lucario, who was permanently cripplingly injured by Paul throwing a hissy-fit a while ago," Kenny said, "But the report confirmed that your first Lucario was deep enough in Oreburgh Mine at the time of the cave in that, even IF it weren't crippled, it wouldn't have been able to escape in time to avoid being trapped by the cave in. We can't really assign any blame here to Paul."
Scowling, the now very obese Maylene said, "Lucario would have been healthy enough to survive being trapped long enough to be rescued if it weren't for that jackass being a sore loser." Looking to the reborn trainers, Maylene went on, "And now he's trying to 'redeem himself'? Acting like he's some kind of friggin' saint or whatever? Just where does he get off at?" It was obvious that Maylene was by no means happy with Paul, was so unamused with him that she most likely will never forgive him for his transgressions against her.
...But then again, she HAD been hurt pretty badly by pre-redemption arc Paul. Sometimes, people can be so hurt by another's actions that the person who was hurt may simply be unable to find it in them to ever forgive the person who hurt them, or at least show them any leniency. It's a hard truth that sometime people who were hurt can't find it in them to forgive those who had hurt them, even if the person who had hurt them is truly regretful over what they had done and is working to try to make amends for what they had done.
Dawn was able to tell Maylene wasn't amused to talk about Paul, so she decided on a change of subject. "So Maylene, I was wondering about what all you were wanting for the wedding you and Roark are going to have," Dawn said.
"Oh," Maylene began, instantly lighting up and getting into a better mood, "I was hoping for a simple, traditional wedding. Nothing too big or extravagant. Although I was planning to make sure the wedding buffet was well stocked."
"Yeah, you're as fat as Dawn looks when she's wearing the fat suit for Kenny's movies," Mina remarked.
"Oh, I have seen those movies and I got to say I like the Poké Sphere P movie," Maylene said, "Even though Paul is in it. Seriously, why did you add Paul to the cast?"
"We were short handed," Kenny said, "And I would like to think how you'd be amused to see Paul's character screwed over by Ash's character and to a lesser extent Ideku's character."
Giggling in amusement, Maylene said, "Yeah, it was funny seeing Paul's character get beaten by Ash's character, and then haunted by the ghost of Ideku's character."
Gesturing to Maylene, Kenny said, "If you don't mind me asking, how is it you got so big? I remember that you were quite the slender person a while ago."
"Actually, I've always been a big eater," Maylene admitted, "Even when I was thin. But my constant working out while I was a gym leader made up for it. After I stepped down from being a gym leader, I saw that I was starting to put on weight as my appetite was still the same as always but I stopped being as active as I had once been." Shrugging, Maylene said, "At least Roark doesn't mind that I've put on weight since I stepped down as a gym leader." Dawn nodded in understanding, as she had heard similar stories of former athletes going to seed after they cease being active. Maylene here was just another case of that.
Clapping her hands together, Dawn said, "Well regardless, I'm looking forward to the wedding."
"Me too," Kenny said, "I bet it'll be one swinging party." Trip and Mina also nodded in agreement, and Maylene said that she was looking forward to seeing Dawn and the others at her and Roark's wedding when it happens. Kenny also said, after he confirmed that neither Ash nor Brock are aware that Maylene had put on weight, that he wanted to keep word of Maylene's newfound size secret as he wants to see the reactions of Ash and Brock when they see Maylene again. Maylene, as well as Dawn and Trip, gave Kenny an assortment of dry looks.
Mina, for her part, giggled in amusement, clearly on board with Kenny's idea.
The reborn trainers soon returned to Twinleaf Town, where they relaxed the rest of the night. The following morning, they proceeded to make arrangements to head on over to the Galar region; Dawn, Kenny, and Trip would continue their gym challenge tour while Mina went along to watch. They also wanted to be ready for when what all shenanigans with the World Coronation Series finally kicked off. The furthest any of the reborn trainers got into the anime was Trip who passed in his previous life in late May of 2022, with the episode of the Spiritomb train.
They had no idea what would occur after that point, so they had to be ready to roll with the punches. But they felt that they could handle what all may come their way; after all, they had been through so much, had experienced so much, had grown so much. Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and even Mina would be ready to take the Tauros by the horns here and rush right into unknown territory. It would be the start of a true adventure for them, an adventure that would see them experience things that they had never truly experienced/were familiar with before.
After the rest period and packing what all they figured they'd need, the reborn trainers got ready to head out to the Galar region. They got their plane tickets, got onto the plane, and flew off for a new region to go through. They also contemplated giving the World Coronation Series a go, although they hoped it wouldn't interfere with their wanting to challenge the gyms of the Galar region. They also suspected that their arrival in Galar will attract the attention of Leon, who they actually first met back in the Kalos region during that special Showcase that Serena won.
Remembering Serena, the reborn trainers marveled at how she had come along as much as she did; she was now the Alola equivalent of a Top Coordinator, and speaking of Alola, Ash is now the Champion of Alola. Both of them had come so far, and the reborn trainers, thanks to past life knowledge of the anime, knew that Ash would be going even further. It would be especially easy for him here, given he's starting off his Journeys adventure with Naganadel and Melmetal in addition to the always there Pikachu. They had no doubt that Ash will do well.
They weren't sure how well, especially since none of them lived long enough in their previous lives to see the conclusion of the Journeys anime; Trip liked to think that Ash ended up winning the World Coronation Series and became the strongest trainer in the world. Dawn was amused by that idea, thinking that it would be very grand indeed if Ash here was able to rise to such a height. But assuming he gets along far enough here to do so, he's going to be facing some rather serious competition to get to the spot of strongest trainer in the world.
...Especially considering how Dawn was considering throwing her hat into the ring as well.
END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND FORTY-ONE
Author's notes;
This chapter sees the Alola classmates break for holiday, although Ash and the reborn trainers leave Alola. The reborn trainers go back to Sinnoh (Mina moves there) and take care of a few things there before continuing the next stretch of their adventure in Galar. Among the things that Dawn and the others do are go to Floaroma town to get Mew, Jirachi, and Manaphy which I based off of the events in BDSP; in truth, it's actually the bestowing of Manaphy that will be playing a very significant part, similar to how Dawn caught Shaymin. Being legends/mythicals from Sinnoh, Shaymin and Manaphy will be needed for a very important role later.
The reborn trainers also meet with Roark and Byron, and learn that Byron is responsible for a screw up that cost twenty lives; his role is being kept secret, but Roark's using it as blackmail so Byron isn't exactly getting off the hook scot free. They also meet Maylene who's now very obese due to ceasing her working as a gym leader but not ceasing her eating habits, although it doesn't bother Roark. After it's confirmed the reborn trainers are invited to the wedding, they go back home to prep to head off to Galar to continue their adventure, with thoughts of entering the World Coronation Sereis going through their minds as they fly to Galar.
The next chapter will begin the Galar saga of this story, where things will be getting even more interesting, especially as Team Scorn will be making moves for the true plans that Team Scorn Boss Pariah has in store. Additionally, as Ash is no longer actively traveling with the reborn trainers, his current on-hand team won't be covered, but Mina's will be. Until then, take care.
