Once again, Athena is attempting to destroy everything and has probably brought upon the most sinister plot yet. After covering the entire city underneath dark clouds and have completely blocked out the sun, she has brought upon the largest digimon Davis and the others have ever seen: Nidhoggmon Nidhoggmon's long and slender body has the entire city surrounded. With all of Odaiba surrounded by fear, they must do something at once or everything truly could be destroyed.
"This is insane. I've never seen a digimon this massive before." Davis said as he tried to see all around him and it still wasn't enough to see all of Nidhoggmon.
"Think we can take him?" ExVeemon questioned.
"What are you talking about? Of course we can. Let him have it." Davis said. That was all Ex-Veemon needed to hear.
"V-Laser!"
"Celestial Arrow!" ExVeemon and Angewomon tried attacking together, but their attacks were so small and barely covered any part of Nidhoggmon. They're attacks just bounced right off and had no affect on that giant digimon at all.
"It is futile. None of your digimon could dare compare to the kind of power that Nidhoggmon here has." Athena said. "Nidhoggmon is the embodiment of absolute destruction and demise. Nidhoggmon, start with them." The giant digimon followed through with those orders as it planned to just smash its head right against the two of them.
"Move! Move! Move!" Davis said as the two digimon tried to move out of the way and just barely managed to avoid it. Nidhoggmon's head smashed into the ground and that alone left a large impact in the ground with the nearby buildings trembling from the impact.
"One hit from that and we could be done for." Kari said. "Angewomon, do be careful. This digimon is probably more dangerous than anything we have ever faced before."
"You don't know just how dangerous Nidhoggmon can truly be." Athena said. "Unleash your devastating power and send this city to it's unavoidable oblivion." Nidhoggmon opened up it's mouth and that was when it began to build power to unleashed a devastating attack. Before it could do such a thing, A great ball of energy and a cold blast came over Nidhoggmon and stopped it.
"What was that?" ExVeemon questioned.
"Help." Davis said as he saw WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon, and HerculesKabuterimon showing up to help in the fight.
"Davis, listen. I need to let you down. It's going to be dangerous to get close to that thing, and that might be what we need to do." ExVeemon said. Davis understood and it seemed like Angewomon was thinking the same thing. They both let their partners down and tried to get in the fight.
"Davis! Kari!" Tai called as he, Matt, and Izzy showed up. "Are you two okay?"
"Narrowly, and the fight has only started." Davis said.
"That is one nasty digimon. Izzy, we're going to need all the details we can get on this one and figure out how to beat it." Matt said.
"Already on it." Izzy said as he got to work on his computer. "I'm telling you right now that this digimon is giving off dangerous amounts of energy, and it looks like it can exert it from anywhere on it's body. The kind of energy it's giving off is not one we want released."
"Does it have a weakness?" Tai questioned.
"If it does, I'm still trying to find it." Izzy said. The digimon did their best to attack, but the megas were barely making a dent in Nihoggmon, and Angewomon and ExVeemon weren't doing much better.
"We better come up with something and fast. Three megas are good, but ExVeemon and Angewomon can't take that thing." Davis said.
"Davis! We're here!" That was when they noticed Aquilamon and Stingmon flying in with Ken and Yolei riding on Aquilamon. Aquilamon let them down and they regrouped with the others.
"About time you showed up. We're going to need Imperialdramon for this one." Davis said.
"Where are the others?" Kari questioned.
"That evil Gennai imposter showed up again." Yolei said. "The others didn't want to take the chance that he was going to escape again, so they stayed behind to try and keep him prisoner."
"They can handle him. Let's take care of this one." Ken said. "Let's do it, Davis." Both of them got ready for this as they can't afford to hold back.
"ExVeemon!"
"Stingmon!"
"DNA digivolve to...Paildramon!"
"Paildramon mega digivolve to...Imperialdramon!"
"Imperialdramon mode change to...Fighter Mode!"
"Kari, let's get in on this! Silphymon might not be able to become a mega, but that doesn't mean we're completely useless!" Yolei said.
"I'm with you." Kari said as Angewomon became Gatomon again.
"Aquilamon!"
"Gatomon!"
"DNA digivolve to...Silphymon!"
"Digivolving..." Athena said as she dared down at what could be their best forms. "Normally, a process that digimon could obtain on their own. It normally takes a digimon centuries to reach the kind of power I'm seeing now. The bond you share with your digimon is what helps them by sharing your own power with them."
"And what you be your point, witch?!" Yolei called.
"It's still not enough. No matter how powerful your bonds are, it is all for naught." Athena said. Nidhoggmon was gathering power to unleashed another powerful attack through its mouth. As the power for the attack was building, Izzy's computer was giving off all kinds of alerts.
"Don't let him unleash that!" Izzy shouted as it sounded like it was all kinds of bad. The digimon attacked Nidhoggmon as best as they could to prevent Nidhoggmon from attacking, but it looks like nothing was really working. "Do something before it's too late! Try and get it away from the city!"
"Imperialdramon!" Ken called. "Strike from below!" Imperialdramon went through with the order. He flew under Nidhoggmon and flew straight up as hard as he could. He smashed right under Nidhoggmon's jaw and tried to put in all the power he could and caused Nidhoggmon to aim straight up. Nidhoggmon couldn't contain the blast and Nidhoggmon unleashed a powerful beam that barely missed a few buildings. It went right through the clouds and they could tell that blast truly would have been devastating if it made impact. They could even feel the heat and force of the attack as it flew over with some buildings still taking damage.
"That was way too close." Izzy said as they were all dazed by what just happened. Even that beam didn't cut through the dark clouds, but the shockwaves alone were immense.
"I've never seen a digimon do something like that before." Yolei said.
"If Imperialdramon hadn't deflected it like he did, a good portion of Odaiba would have been destroyed from that single attack." Izzy said.
"Izzy... How bad did you say the energy that digimon is letting out is again?" Davis questioned as he didn't like how things were unfolding.
"Very." Izzy said. "The sort of energy that is building inside of Nidhoggmon is similar to...radiation." A power similar to radiation alone sounds dangerous. If they don't do something, this digimon could do much more harm than they thought. "We can't let Nidhoggmon unleash something like that again. If it does... Well, do you guys know what happens when something like a nuclear power plant would explode?" None of them liked how that sounded. Not only is this the largest digimon they have ever faced, but it is probably the most dangerous as well. Anything it does could end up destroying the entire city. This digimon is dangerous on all kinds of levels.
"Okay! We get it! It's all kinds of bad and we can't let that think unleash that power on the city!" Matt said as Nidhoggmon continued to attack. It began firing a series of miniature lasers and tried blasting the digimon, but all of them kept flying around and tried their best to avoid the attacks. As some flew by and were about to hit the city, WarGreymon stepped in and used his shield to try and block the attacks.
"At least we got WarGreymon's shield." Tai said.
"But that won't be enough." Izzy said.
"Izzy, isn't there a weakness or something?" Matt questioned.
"I still haven't found it." Izzy said. This wasn't getting any better for them.
"In that case, we need to end this fast. Tai, we need Omnimon for this one." Matt said.
"Right. WarGreymon, let's do it!" Tai called.
"MetalGarurumon, it's time for Omnimon!" Matt called. Both of them went and did that as WarGreymon and Metalgarurumon turned into shining lights and mixed together for them to become Omnimon.
"Omnimon..." Athena said as even she appeared to be amazed with Omnimon's presence. "Truly a magnificent and glorious digimon, but even that shall not save you. This fate is one that is inevitable."
"Attack together! Let that big freak and her pet snake have it!" Davis called.
"Static Force!"
"Positron Laser!"
"Supreme Cannon!"
"Mega Electro Shocker!" All of the digimon tried attacking together and tried to do some damage. Their attacks did little damage against Nidhoggmon, but at least they were having a little effect. Despite that, Nidhoggmon fought back and fired a series of lasers once again. All the digimon did their best to avoid the attacks and cause minimal damage to the city, but it was like nothing could really stop this thing.
"Fight as much as you like, but it won't do you any good." Athena said. "It is time to go back to the void of nothingness you came from! It is time for all of you to return to the darkness of nothingness!" Athena thinks this is the finally the time of judgement upon humans. With a digimon like Nidhoggmon, this really could be the end. "It's time! It's time! It's time!" She shouted as it seemed like she was beginning to lose control of herself.
"She is losing it up there!" Yolei said.
"She'll do anything if it means we face our demise." Ken said.
"Where are the others? What's taking them so long?" Matt said.
"We'll just have to handle this without them." Tai said.
"There is nothing any of you can do! Nidhoggmon, the time has finally come! Destroy this entire city and send them all to oblivion! Unleash Meltdown!" Athena ordered as she felt like this was her time. Nidhoggmon was gathering as much power as it could. Once that started, Izzy's computer was giving off all kinds of alerts once again.
"Now what's going on?!" Davis said.
"Oh no..." Izzy said as he didn't like how this looked at all. "Nidhoggmon is planning to release all that dangerous power from every opening in it's body. If he unleashes that, everything really could be destroyed. It will be a complete catastrophic disaster."
"Isn't there a way we can stop it?!" Matt said.
"Imperialdramon could generate a force field, but Nidhoggmon might be too large to contain all of it." Ken said. It seemed like there was nothing they could do to stop it. It seemed hopeless, but Davis wasn't willing to give up.
"I'm not giving up yet! Imperialdramon, do whatever you can to put a stop to it!" Davis said. "Fight until you can't fight anymore!" That's exactly what Imperialdramon tried to do as he fired a powerful blast at Nidhoggmon. Imperialdramon certainly isn't going to go down without a fight, and was just going to keep attacking.
"It's pointless. Just give up. It is the inevitable fate for all to be destroyed." Athena said. "We all shall meet our end and their demise. Why do you resist? Why do you refuse to accept your fate?"
"Maybe all things come to an end at some point, but that doesn't mean we're just going to keep waiting around and let it happen!" Davis said. "We'll just keep fighting for all the time we do have and you are not taking that away!" Imperialdramon kept trying to blast Nidhoggmon, responding to Davis' strong will and refusal to accept the end like this. However, not one attack has stopped Nidhoggmon and it looked like the power was about to be released. He kept the attacks going until something happened. When one blast actually landed right in Nidhogg's mouth by chance, it caused a small explosion to go off right inside.
"What was that?!" Athena questioned as it seems that explosion has caused some sort of disturbance.
"Did you see that?!" Ken said. "All that power Nidhoggmon was building caused an explosion to go off and caused some of the energy to setback.
"That's it! All that condensed energy isn't good for the user if it doesn't release it! When it doesn't release it, it backfires on them!" Izzy said. "That must be it's weakness!"
"I think we found our opening!" Tai said. "Aim right for Nidhoggmon's mouth!" All of the digimon kept the attacks going and tried blasting Nidhoggmon's mouth. It appeared to be working. A series of explosions was going off and it was causing the energy to fade from Nidhoggmon.
"No. No!" Athena shouted. "Accept the inevitable! Accept your fate! Return to the nothingness where all of existence came from!"
"Not going to happen. Imperialdramon, go for the big one!" Davis called.
"Omnimon, finish it!" Tai called. Both of their digimon took aim and was going to end it with their most powerful attacks.
"Stay back... This is your fate. This is the fate of all things." Athena said. "Accept your fate!" She shouted as both digimon unleashed their best attacks. Once they both made contact, light finally shined in the darkness. The two attacks caused a grand explosion of light that shined over the entire city. Davis and the others tried to endure the shockwave that came from the blast, but it was an immense and nearly knocked them all over. If this blast doesn't stop Nidhoggmon and end Athena's terror, nothing will.
