Thank you .7, SleepyHeather and YanaW for following this story.

Anyway this is a sequel to my other story Simple Yet Paradoxical. You don't have to read the other one but it will mention characters from the previous story. This will also be short chapters because it's all I can manage for now.

As always I don't proofread my chapters. If anyone wants to do it for me let me know by DM.

Disclaimer: I DON'T OWN XMEN. JUST MY OWN CHARACTERS.

Maya had always knew Will and Gwen would have a mutations, ever since the school had been attack over 50 years ago when she had still been pregnant with them. It wasn't until they had been born they figure Gwen mutation had been the one that saved her from the falling ceiling. Will's was physically noticeable he had been almost a carbon copy of Hank blue fur and all. As for Emma they hadn't known but they had a feeling she would develop one at a later age. There had been signs that weren't normal for a toddler. She showed habits that closely resembling Hank when he let Beast take over for a bit to bond with their cubs. Emma tended to purred when happy or content and hissed whenever she was upset and growl when she was angry. She liked to take naps while sunbathing near a window and made nests out of pillows and blankets. She liked to run and climb on anything she could, it was worse than Will when he had been at that age. But it wasn't until Emma was 9 years old that they had seen her healing factor. Her poor daughter had fallen and broken her wrist. It had healed so quickly they had to re-break it and pop it back into its proper place. It was then Hank had confirmed with her their suspicions about Emma's mutation. She had the feral gene and it was almost on par with Logan's, at least the healing factor was. Emma wasn't able to grow her claws like Logan but her other senses and her physical capabilities that went beyond Hank's and Will's.

"I'm 41 and I still look like I'm barely turned 25, my body feels like it too" Emma said in a soft voice and her eyes began to water up "Jacob is 2 years younger than me and already he's complaining about body aches like Gwen and Will"

Maya had never noticed that Emma wasn't aging. Truth be told she saw all her children as well kids despite their age. They were her babies in her eyes but now that Emma had pointed out, Maya looked past it and now noticed that she indeed looked young. Younger than she should have. She lacked the they greying hairs her other three kids were starting to show and she didn't seem to have any wrinkles not even small ones.

"I don't want to watch everyone I care about died around me. How long am I going to keep outliving everyone I meet? I can't died because my wounds heal too quickly" Emma continued, her voice cracking as a whimper escaped causing the tears in her eyes to finally fall free.

It all made sense now. Why Emma had moved so far away. Why she only visited on thanksgiving and Christmas. Why her friend groups kept getting smaller over the years. She didn't want to get too attached to anyone to lessen the pain for when they passed. Maya's heart clenched in pain for her youngest daughter, she didn't know the answer to her questions and it killer her. Maya didn't even know what to say, all she could do was hug Emma tightly as she sobbed in her arms. Her own eyes began to water but she blinked back the tears that threatened to fall. She had to stay strong for her daughter right now.

The sound of the back sliding door open made Maya turn her head to see Hank frowning as he stepped out the house.

"What's wrong?" He asked softly.
