For the next few weeks, Sonic stayed in bed and tried not to exersice too much. Once everyone knew what was going on, they were really supportive. 5 months later, Sonic and Shadow went to the hospital for an appointment to seehoe the baby was doing.
Doctor: Well, congratulations, Sonic. this baby of yours is growing perfectly well. And also, you're having a baby girl.
Sonic: What?! Oh my gosh!
Meanwhile, Shadow was in the waiting area when Sonic came out of the room.
Shadow: So?
Sonic: It's a girl! We're having a baby girl!
Sonic hugged his ebony boyfriend tightly with happy tears in his eyes. Shadow hugged him back being cautious of his stomach. When they got home, they told everyone the news and they were all overjoyed when they heard it was a girl.
Tails: Congratulations, Sonic.
Amy: We're so happy for you.
Sonic: Hehe. Thanks everyone.
Sliver: So, what are you guys gonna name her?
Sonic: Not sure yet. We'll think of something.
Later that day, Tails and Snowflake helped get the baby's new room ready. Tails was building the furniture and Snowflake was painting the walls and closet.
Snowflake: What do you think of the color, Tails?
Tails: I don't know. You could've painted it all pink instead of pink and purple
Snowflake: Well, maybe the baby won't like pink so I only painted the closet like that.
Tails: Mmm...well, fair enough. It looks great.
A few months later, Sonic, Shadow, Tails, And Rouge were watching a movie in the living room when Sonic felt some sharp pains in his stomach. He looked down and was shocked. He quickly tapped Shadow on the shoulder.
Shadow: Hm? What's wrong?
Sonic: My water broke! I think it's time, Shadow!
Without wasting any time, Shadow quickly scooped Sonic up in his arms and rushed to the hospital. The nurses immediately rushed him into the delivery room and asked Shadow to wait outside. After 6 long hours, the doctor finally came out.
Doctor: He's ready to see you now.
Shadow walked passed the doctor and into the room. Sonic had just woken up when he walked up to him.
Shadow: Sonic?
Sonic: Hey, Shads.
Shadow: How do you feel?
Sonic: A little sore. But much better. Thank you.
That's when Shadow noticed the baby blue and black hedgehog next to Sonic and he teared up.
Shadow: She...She looks just like me. She's beautiful.
Sonic: She is, Isn't she? I wanted to name her but I decided to wait for you.
Shadow thought for a moment before he said...
Shadow: Shadic. That's what we should name her.
Sonic: I would have to agree.
