"Hello everyone! Sorry I disappeared for such a long time but a lot has happened. My computer completely died on me so I had to replace the hard-drive! I lost a lot of important documents including this story and what I had written so far. I also started up school and I have a job now…"
Hey guys, not sure if anyone will see this or if anyone is still interested in this story. I'll admit it's been a LONG time. The above portion in quotations was something I wrote a while back. I started working on writing and finishing this story but things happened. Not to be a downer but life got a little dark for me for awhile, I wasn't in and currently am not, in the best place right now if I'm being 100% honest. Beyond that, a lot of the writers here who inspired me to write have stopped writing themselves so it felt hard to continue. Finally I also literally couldn't log in to this account for ages, but randomly I guessed the password and email to this account correctly soooo…. I would like to try to finish this story, it may not be as long as I originally planned to make the story but I still want to finish it. I think I also might go back and update/edit some of the previous chapters as well. So thank you for your understanding.
Chapter 8
-At the Kendo Club-
Kagome wandered around looking for the Kendo Club as she got off of practice early. Honey had invited her to see his cousin before they headed to the Host Club after hearing about her interest in the sport. Finally finding the club's dojo she settled against a wall and watched as Mori practiced with his club members. 'Wheres Honey?' Kagome thought she hadn't seen him around, so she had to find the club room herself.
Turning her attention back to Mori she watched him closely. He didn't seem to notice her as he led the club activities. Watching him she certainly could see how he had become a national champion in the sport.
"If the girls at this school saw him right now they would be all over him" Kagome mumbled to herself
"he looks good…" Kagome trailed off as she watch Mori practice with his shinai
'He's got good form. Way better than Inuyasha with the Tetsuiga', thinking of her stubborn half demon friend and how he clumsily used his sword at times had her chuckling until a large shadow loomed over her. Looking up she was greeted by Mori's ever stoic face.
"Hey Takashi", Kagome said brightly, not noticing the blush that covered his cheeks in the familiar way she said his name.
"Oh you mind? Since I call most everyone by their first names…" Kagome trailed off, she wasn't sure why she had been referring to Mori by his last name unlike the other. 'It feels different… I dunno…"
Kagome let out a breath she didn't know she was holding when Mori gave her a nod that it was ok.
"You just finish practice?" Kagome said, looking up at the tall boy, hoping to change the subject. Receiving a nod and a small grunt, Kagome replied to Mori's unasked question.
"Honey invited me to come see you practice, so here I am!" Looking around the dojo Kagome examined the place. Noticing that his team members had left to go change.
"You were great out there! Perfect form and everything". Mori's blush deepened at Kagome's words, slightly embarrassed at the smaller boy's praise but he also felt a nice warmth settle in his chest.
Looking back at Mori after a pause in the conversation she saw another questioning look.
"Oh, are you curious about how much I know about kendo?" Kagome received another nod.
"Lets just say I have been around plenty of swords and other weapons in my lifetime" Kagome said in a playful but mysterious tone.
'What does that mean' Mori thought as he looked at Kagome 'There's still a lot I don't know about Kagome'
Seeing the intense stare Mori was giving her, Kagome finally caved in after a few seconds of silence. "If you really want to know, many of my old friends used to know some form of martial arts" sighing she looked around suspiciously before leaning towards Mori
"And I also live on a shrine so we have many ancient artifacts like swords and shakujōs" she whispered.
Seeing the surprised look on Mori's face she tilted her head to the side
"Shrine?" Mori said to Kagome
"Is it really that surprising?" Kagome said jokingly.
Mori studied Kagome, imagining him in a priest's outfit. The thought had Mori's lips upturning in a small smile 'cute'
Ignoring the weird look on Mori's face Kagome spoke out a random thought she had, "If you don't believe me you're welcome to visit my Shrine". Mori's head snapped back to look at Kagome in shock. 'Was he…'
"Yeah, why didn't I think of this before! Here, give me your hand!" Still slightly frozen in shock Mori numbly gave Kagome his hand as the boy quickly shuffled through his bag and pulled out a marker.
"Ok here we go" Kagome said with garbled words while she had the marker cap in her mouth as she wrote on Mori's hand.
"Ok all done" Kagome smiled up at Mori who was still in a daze. Looking down at his hand he stared at the address Kagome wrote on his hand.
"Come on over any time and see for yourself that I really do live in a shrine! Just don't give anyone else in the host club my address. Especially Kyoya or Tamaki". Kagome shuddered at the thought of either one or both finding out her address. 'Oh the horror'.
"Honey or Haruhi are exceptions of course though" smiling to herself Kagome frowned at the familiar feeling of her hunger pains.
"Anyways I'll let you get cleaned up, I'll be up at the Host Club". Mori nodded numbly at Kagome as she left, still staring at the address she had given him. Walking to the Kendo Clubs' changing room he continued to look at the writing on his hand.
"Hey you ok Captain?" Said a voice to his right, questions followed from his other team members all asking if he was ok after noticing his odd behavior.
"Whoa is that a phone number?! Did some girl give you her number!" Said a voice and then his hand was grabbed and examined by several of his club members. Mori's face turned red and steam came off his head at the assumptions his teammates were making. 'It's an address not a phone number… and it's also from a boy!'
"Crap he got a phone number and a home address! Although I don't recognize the address…"
"Who cares! Who knew that Morinozuka had it in him!". Mori ignored the cheers and whistles his teammates gave him as examined his hand puzzled at what they just said
'Phone number? Where?' Turning his hand over he tensed up at the numbers sprawled across his palm.
'Kagome gave me his phone number!' Mori was frozen in place at the discovery.
"You ok captain? You don't look so good"
-Host Club Room-
Kagome lounged in one of the chairs sluggishly eating and staring off into the distance as she ate a plate Honey had brought over to her a while ago. She looked over at the table for her cup of tea leaving her now empty plate stacked on top of the others.
Taking a sip Kagome sighed in pleasure,'It really pays to squat- I mean to hang out with the Host Club'. Looking over towards the door she waited as she felt a presence on the other side of the door.
'I have a feeling today is somehow going to be tiring, hysterical, and perverted all at the same time…'
Her gaze wandered over seeing the Host Club all get into their special positions to greet the guest.
"How did they know they have a guest?" Her eyebrow twitched. They all got in position around Tamaki who of course was sprawled out over an ornate couch, all dressed up in what she knew Tamaki had deemed "exotic" garbs. The clothes looked good albeit over the top.
"Takashi looks good…" Kagome's face heated up, seeing how provocatively he was dressed compared to his compatriots. Basically only wearing loose pants, a head wrap of some kind, and decorative short sword with jewelry.
.
.
.
Mori looked over at her and she whipped her gaze away so she wouldn't get caught staring.
'?', Mori looked at Kagome, 'what's up with him?'
"Welcome to the Ouran Host Club" the group said together in unison. The boy fell back in shock at the greeting.
"Oh it's just a kid" Kaoru said
"Not only that, it's just a boy", Hikaru commented.
"What's wrong little boy? Did you come to my palace in search of something?" Tamaki said while lounging in his position on the floor
"Ugh, are you the king of this place?" Tamaki's eyes widened at the unknown boy's words and then he sighed. Kagome groaned knowing that the blonde idiot's ego most likely had received a boost.
"Well are you?" the boy asked unsure
"come closer lost one. What was it you just called me, little boy?"
"The King?"
"OHH the King" Tamaki stood up at the boy's words and spun around in joy "Yes I am the king of the Ouran Host Club. Long live the host king" Tamaki finished excitedly
'Tch so annoying! At least he can't get any worse', Kagome thought to herself while rolling her eyes. Tamaki was just too much sometimes.
"I'm an elementary 5th year student, Shiro Takaoji!" Pausing a second Shiro lifted his hand and pointed at the Host Club, "I want the host club king to take me on as an apprentice".
"Jinxed it", Mori looked over at Kagome who now was standing next to him as she gave a disapproving look at Shiro and Tamaki. Sensing his gaze Kagome shook her head at his questioning look. However before he could turn his attention back to Shiro Kagome's next words had him blushing.
"You look good" Staring at Kagome with a heated face. He waited for him to say something else, as he was used to Kagome's teasing.
"You look good with earrings and the sword" Kagome said honestly, "Unlike Tamaki you actually look nice"
"Hey!" Mori heard Tamaki yell at Kagome but he didn't bother looking away from the boy, too stunned to do anything.
-Later-
Kagome watched in mild discomfort at the way Tamaki interacted with one of his clients and as Shiro stared at them.
"Don't you think it's weird he's making the kid observe him up close like that?" Haruhi said, watching the strange interaction before her.
"Right! It's beyond creepy" Kagome piped in, grimacing as she watched.
"There is a theory that people are considered more beautiful the closer they are viewed" Haruhi and Kagome stared at Tamaki with blank eyes as Kyoya continued to talk.
"Tamaki seems to live by that theory, well let's leave them alone".
Kagome could only make a face of disgust as Tamaki sweet talked to the girl, calling her a mermaid. 'How do these girls not find him a creeper!'
"You look more like the Carp that swim in my pond at home, I would never give false compliments like that", Kagome choked at the comment the kid made.
"Carp!" The girl fell over in tears at Shiro's words.
"Oh don't listen to him, he's just a kid, you know how kids are, they can't help but be honest" Tamaki said hurriedly.
"Honest!" The girl screamed out,
"But that's just his opinion that you look like a Carp, and even if you did look like a Carp you would be the most beautiful Carp of them all" Tamaki hurriedly said,
"So I am a Carp!",
"Uh, that's not what I meant…"
Kagome laughed at Tamaki as he made the situation worse. Sensing Mori's disapproving look Kagome looked up at the tall boy
"Come on you got to admit it's funny" she whispered as she turned her attention back to the scene unfolding before her.
"Tamaki you're an idiot!" The girl ran out leaving a shocked Tamaki, "No wait! Mermaid princess!"
"Man what a crybaby" Turning around Tamaki glared at Shiro.
"So how's it going boss" Karou said laughing
"That's an adorable little apprentice you got there" Hikaru finished
"Hikaru do you wish you had a little brother like Shiro?" Kaoru asked, looking at his brother, teary eyed. Kagome upon realizing what they were doing made a face, 'not again…' she was still completely mystified at how the girls at this school found the twins act so appealing.
Hugging his brother Hikaru continued the act "Don't be silly, I could search the globe and I'd never find a better brother then you Kaoru"
"Ahhh Hikaru" Kaoru whispered, gaining the attention of the girls as they squealed at the display
Shiro upon seeing the interaction stepped back, "Ugh, they're homos, and they're brothers so that makes this totally inceptious"
"I think what you meant to say is incestuous" Tamaki corrected.
"Not the point", Kagome said offhandedly, still standing next to Mori and Honey.
"Hey Shiro-chan do you want to have a piece of cake with me?" Honey latched onto to Shiro's back
"We got three kinds of chocolate, strawberry, and lime", Honey finished excitedly.
"Hey back off!", Shiro threw Honey off his back "What grade are you in anyway! Why are you wearing a high school uniform!?" Mori interrupted the two when his shadow fell over them.
"Something wrong Mitskuni?" Mori chimed in.
"That's not fair, a little kid like isn't supposed to have a cool older friend like him" Shiro yelled as Honey climbed up onto Mori's back in order to get away from Shiro.
"You ok Honey, you want some cake?" Kagome said while leaning on Mori's shoulder looking up at Honey. "Really!" Honey said stars in his eyes, forgetting his previous fear before getting down from his position around Mori's shoulders. Mori nodded to Kagome in thanks to the black haired boy's successful attempt at distracting his cousin.
Before Honey could drag her off however Shiro turned his attention to Kagome after her sudden interruption.
"Who are you! And why do you have such long hair for a guy?". Unsure of what to say, Kagome could only look at the young boy from where she stood, standing next to Mori, one of her hands still gripping Mori's sleeve. Shiro paused in his tirade for a few seconds only to come to a new conclusion after noticing Kagome's position
"More homos!" Shiro said before backing away from a very confused Kagome and a blushing Mori.
'What does he mean by homo?… Wait, does he mean me and Mori?!' Kagome thought
"You brat, what did you say!?" Kagome took a step forward ready to teach the kid a lesson. Shiro upon seeing this backed into Haruhi as she carried a tray with a tea-set.
"Are you all right?" Haruhi asked the boy after noticing how disgruntled he was "I know, it's hard getting used to all the weirdo's around here. It took me a while to get adjusted to all the craziness, so don't freak out, I'm sure you'll get used to it". Kagome watched as Shiro stared at Haruhi for a little bit.
'I know that look' Kagome thought.
"Something wrong?" Haruhi asked after noticing Shiro's intense look.
"Are you a crossdresser?" Shiro asked
'How can he recognize that Haruhi is a girl and not me?' Kagome thought a little peeved.
"Ok, that's enough, I think Shiro should take care of the tea for us, don't you?" Tamaki covered Shiro's eyes with his hand, hoping to stop him from looking at Haruhi.
"Wow Haruhi your looking extra manly today" Hikaru said,
"Better do what the boss says and let Shiro take that tea-set, it's part of his training, you're too macho for tea-sets". The three all laughed nervously as Haruhi sighed
"Now be careful with it, it's pretty heavy" Haruhi handed the trey over to Shiro only to have him drop it instantly.
"It's not my fault I dropped it, it's your fault because you made me take it in the first place". Shiro deadpanned with no remorse.
"Say what?" Haruhi replied.
"Haruhi that's another 100,000 yen" Kyoya said making Haruhi spin around towards him out of shock
"Hey you should make the crossdresser do all your stupid chores!" Shiro turned to look at Tamaki, "I'm not here to carry tea-sets, I'm here to learn how to make women happy!"
Kagome looked up from Haruhi as she tried to console the girl about her increasing debt
"Put this brat in isolation!" Tamaki shouted as he pointed at Shiro. Kagome raised an eyebrow at his statement, wondering what he meant.
"You got it boss!" The twins said. A cage suddenly lowered from the ceiling trapping Shiro. Taking a few seconds to register what happened Kagome stepped back out of shock.
"Oh my god! So I was right, Tamaki really is a perv!" Kagome shouted after recovering from her shock. Making a show of studying the cage with apprehension, Kagome continued, "He's more of a freak than I thought…"
"WHAT I'm not a pervert or a freak!" Tamaki yelled while waving his arms back and forth.
"Then why do you have a cage?" Kagome replied with a bland tone looking at Tamaki over her shoulder.
"Yeah where did it come from? This is supposed to be a music room right?" Haruhi said as she looked at the cage with blank eyes.
"Not you too Haruhi! You must know daddy isn't a pervert right?!" Tamaki said as he teleported before Haruhi and shook her back and forth. Haruhi grimaced at Tamaki's actions.
"Wow not only are you a perv but it seems like anyone will do, right Shiro?~" Tamaki looked up at Kagome then at Shiro before finally turning her gaze to Haruhi, the heavy implication clear.
"What no!" he yelled out loud "I don't like guys!"
"I bet he's the uke", Kagome whispered loudly, riling Tamaki up even more.
"Hmh", Kagome turned around to see where the noise came from. Seeing Mori standing right behind her, she looked at him, 'Did he just laugh?'. Pulling him down slightly by his jacket she looked at him, she could clearly see the mirth in his eyes. She leaned in a little more,
"Hah, that's what finally got you to laugh, calling Tamaki and uke?~"
Mori's face flushed at the effeminate boy's teasing.
"This is no way to treat your loyal apprentice, now let me out of this cage!" Shiro said as he began banging on the cage, interrupting Kagome's teasing of Mori.
"Not until you've learned your lesson. I made you my apprentice because I thought you were serious about becoming a host, but I guess I was wrong", Tamaki sipped on some tea as he replied to Shiro's yelling.
"Well he recovers quickly", Kagome whispered to Mori, who nodded in agreement as Tamaki presented himself elegantly as ever.
"I am serious! Totally serious!" Shiro clutched the bars of the cage, "I want you to teach me how to make a woman happy", Shiro finished before falling to his knees. "I'm gonna run out of time. Please won't you teach me?"
Kagome perked up at Shiro's words, 'Sounds like he's talking about a particular person. A particular girl more like it' Kagome watched on as Shiro continued to beg Tamaki to teach him, only to facepalm when Shiro called Tamaki a genius during his plea.
Pleased with Shiro's praise Tamaki excitedly got up, "Well you may be a brat, but I admire your desire to become a host, so I'll teach you".
"You know Shiro, you and I are so much alike", Tamaki continued, sparkles appearing around him.
"You poor kid" Haruhi said at Tamaki's statement
"Not the kind of person you want to be compared to kid" Kagome said to Shiro looking at him from her position next to Mori "I pray everyday that Tamaki may be fixed but it has yet to work". Kagome sighed disheartedly, "Oh well, I guess even the gods couldn't fix that walking mistake" Kagome finished in a very cheery tone. Silence ensued after Kagome's comment.
'Maybe that was too harsh, even for me'
"What I am not! I'm perfect! Right Haruhi?" Tamaki asked Haruhi with water gushing out of his eyes. Haruhi in reply just gave a tired sigh and looked away from Tamaki. Tamaki promptly fled underneath one of the tables as a dark aura of depression emanated from him.
"Haha nice", the twins said as they wrapped their arms around Kagome's shoulder.
"Thanks…" Kagome said, letting her words trail off. Noticing the suspicious behavior the twin leaned in closer as they examined Kagome's side profile more closely.
"Wait, do you actually pray about that?" Kaoru asked
"…Of course not! …Don't be stupid", Kagome said defensively, trying to keep a poker face as best she could. Seeing the curious looks she was getting, Kagome did her best to turn the attention away from herself. "So are you going to let Shiro join the Host Club?"
"Of course! He just needs to learn how to use the materials he already has" Tamaki stated as he recovered from his gloomy mood
"What does that mean" Shiro asked
"You see, here at the Ouran Host Club our policy is to use our individual personality traits to meet the needs of our guests, for example theirs Tamaki who is our princely type" Tamaki posed as he was mentioned
"Theirs the strong silent type" Mori looked up as Kyoya said this, Kagome elbowed him gently in a teasing manner throwing off his pose slightly.
"The boy Lolita type, the little devil type, and the cool type", each host gave a slight pose at the mention of their type
"It's all about variety. And now our group is complete with the addition of Haruhi, the natural". Haruhi pointed to herself unsure about being the "natural type"
"What about him?" Shiro asked, pointing to Kagome after she didn't receive any introduction.
"Oh him" Kyoya said "he's-" Kyoya stopped after noticing Kagome's fearsome glare.
"I'm…" Kagome waited a few seconds trying to think of something good, looking around a little bit she got a idea
Kagome grabbed Mori's sleeve and leaned on him slightly, "I'm just… Takashi's lovvverrr~". At her statement somehow all the hosts manage to spit up water despite not drinking any.
'Huh I wonder how they did that', Kagome thought as she laughed out loud.
Seeing Mori blushing heavily and also giving her a slight glare, gave a satisfied smirk, Tamaki wasn't the only one she teased. Shiro had backed up a little and was also blushing heavily at Kagome's words.
"Nah kid I'm just joking, I'm friends with Haruhi"
Kyoya continued "It would seem that right now that we have a perfect blend of characteristics, so it's going to be difficult to find a new type for Shiro"
"If you go by his age he should be the boy Lolita type" Hikaru said thoughtfully
"But Honey-sempai has already got that covered" Kaoru chimed in.
"Is he going to replace me?" Honey asked the group as he clung to Kagome's legs, teary eyed. Kagome patted his head to comfort him.
"Oh come on. is that all you've got" Kagome looked around at the sudden intrusion of the voice.
Hearing a sudden whirring of what sounded like motors, Kagome looked around until she saw a podium rising from the floor with Renge in the center of it.
"What the BLEEP!" Kagome shouted
"What? It's just Renge" Hikaru said nonchalantly to Kagome
Kagome looked around at the other hosts hoping that one of them would give her an answer, or at least look just as weirded out as her but all she got was an apathetic looking Haruhi.
'Where in the world did that come from?!'
"Sorry to interrupt gentlemen but what's with the lackluster character analysis?" Renge said from her position on top of the podium "I must say I'm quite disappointed, I thought I taught you better"
"Alright then, miss manager, how would you work Shiro into our collection of characters? He can't be the boy Lolita type because Honey has already got that covered" Tamaki lifted up the still crying Honey to emphasize his statement.
"You just don't get it do you. Now listen up, there are plenty of girls out there who have a thing for younger boys or boys with baby faces. These girls would be considered shota fans. Now shota can be a fairly broad category, so it's important to know…"
Kagome stopped paying attention as Renge continued to give the Host Club a lecture. Look at the group she rolled her eyes at how closely the boys were paying attention to Renge's speech
'Maybe I should talk to Shiro and see what's really going on. Before Tamaki makes the problem worse' Kagome thought as she watched from the sidelines.
She observed with a blank face as the twins and Renge helped Shiro become the naughty boy type. Things quickly fell apart soon after his supposed transformation.
"I've had enough of you people! This is so stupid, none of this is ever going to help me make her happy!" Shiro yelled.
Kagome watched as Shiro ran out of the room, 'Poor kid'.
"I can't believe he ditched us just because he didn't like the lesson. What a selfish little brat" Tuning back Kagome looked over at Tamaki ignoring as Renge sank bank into the floor
"There's aren't many people who would enjoy that kind of lesson" Haruhi said to Tamaki "But never mind were you listening to what he said", "He said he was going to run out of time, what do you think he means by that?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Kagome looked around at the Host Club members "He's talking about a particular girl"
-At the Elementary School Grounds-
"Why did we bother with disguises, we stick out like a sore thumb" Haruhi grumbled as she peeked around a corner of a wall,
"Oh there's a reason, a damn good reason" Tamaki said ominously.
"Isn't she the cutest?" The twins said together as Honey pulled Haruhi with him.
"Oh look at her in that mini skirt". Tamaki's face turned a deep red as he peered around the corner of a door to look at Haruhi. "Haruhi looks like a little doll!" he finished.
"So basically you just wanted to see her dressed up like that", Kyoya said, making Tamaki twitch.
"Ok that's just a whole new level of creepy" Kagome said making a repulsed face as she lowered a can of soda that magically appeared in her hand. "are you even allowed to be within a 50 meters of any school children?"
Tamaki choked at Kagome's comment but she continued "What is it with you and costumes anyways? You're the type of perv who likes to BLEEP with BLEEP and BLEEPING BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP in BLEEP BLEEPING, huh and mfhm…"
Mori's hand covered Kagome's mouth as the rest of the Host Club froze at Kagome's foul words. Tamaki proceeded to melt while the twins, unfrozen from their shock, looked at each other unsure of what to say.
"No more sugar", Mori said, attempting to take away Kagome's drink which Kagome dodged away from.
"moving on from that… Honey and Haruhi are not here anymore" Kyoya finally said after recovering from Kagome's harsh comment
The group turned back to where Honey and Haruhi were, only to see the flashing outline of where they once were.
"Let's follow them!" Tamaki said recovering from his melted state.
The group moved forward after waiting for several small students to pass their hiding spot.
'They're so cute and tiny' Kagome thought as she looked at the small students before the group hurried to catch up to Honey and Haruhi.
"I wonder what Takashi looked like as an elementary student…" Mori looked back at Kagome after heard her comment. However the image of a full sized Mori in an elementary school uniform had Kagome spitting out the contents of her drink on Tamaki as she burst out laughing making Tamaki yelp in surprise.
"Shut him up or he'll blow our cover". The twins tried to follow Tamaki's orders but Kagome was practically convulsing with laughter.
"Oh god he got his drink all over me! What is this anyways!…". Meanwhile Mori was staring at Kagome which made her laugh even more.
.
.
.
"There's nobody here" Haruhi said as she looked around the empty classroom
"So the kids' classroom is empty is it?" Tamaki said as the boys walked in following Honey and Haruhi.
"This sure takes me back" the twins said in unison
"I wonder if doodles are still on my desk" Kaoru said offhandedly,
"Doubtful, the school changes out the desks every year" Kyoya answered flatly.
Haruhi shook as she heard the conversation behind her "Hey, if you're gonna barge in here like that then Why'd we wear these stupid… wait, where's Kagome?". The grouped paused before looking around,
"When did he…" Tamaki began to say before they heard footsteps approaching the classroom.
"Hide!" Haruhi whispered as the entire group ducked down.
'Where did Kagome go?!' Mori thought worriedly as he had an arm around Honey.
Honey looked at Mori as he felt how tightly Mori had wrapped his arm around him, 'Is Takashi worried about Kagome?'
-Somewhere Else-
Kagome sighed as when she finally found Shiro, he was about to walk into what she assumed was a music class or club. Not noticing her as she approached she grabbed him by the shoulder, ignoring his yelp of surprise. Turning him around to face her she opened her mouth to speak,
"Wai… it's the homo, what ar…" Kagome smacked him on the back of the head for that, "ow what was that for?!" Shiro looked up at Kagome but froze.
"You're gonna explain everything or else you little brat" Kagome said as she clapped her hands down tightly on his shoulders, a twisted smile appearing on her face.
.
.
.
"You finally arrived", Kagome said, coming around the corner with her arms crossed, surprising the host club as they finally made it to the elementary music room.
"We thought you had wandered off and got lost", Kyoya said smugly, not scared like the others were, besides Mori, by Kagome's sudden appearance.
"As if, I was trying to take care of our little problem faster", looking over her shoulder Kagome nodded for Shiro to come out as well. Walking towards the group, Kagome said out loud to Shiro "explain the situation, I'm tired from this already", Kagome sighed after her statement, choosing to start heading out as she continued walking past the group.
'This is gonna give me a headache'. Kagome passed and looked behind herself upon feeling eyes on her. Seeing Mori and his questioning look she gave a small smile, and walked back a bit, leaning over towards him she whispered, "I'm gonna head home, don't think this is gonna get solved today. See you tomorrow". Mori straightened himself, surprised by how close Kagome was, he gave a small nod to her. He watched as Kagome gave a small wave and walked away.
Ignoring Shiro as he explained his situation he watched as Kagome walked away, a blush still on his face from when Kagome had whispered to him up close. 'He's something else', Mori scratched the back of his neck unsure 'Is this normal?'. He looked down and touched his stomach a little, 'I feel strange…'
-One Day Later-
Kagome watched as the host club got ready to greet their incoming guest, she assumed the girl whom little Shiro had gotten so worked up about. She hadn't arrived too long before and she really looked at how all the hosts had dressed up in suits.
'Interesting color choice' Kagome observed the suites closer, 'they all look good in it though, not that I would ever tell Tamaki that though'. Kagome looked around the room waiting for then 'main event' to unfold; she had wanted to see what conclusion would come of Shiro's plea of the host club.
"Wait when did you guys get a piano in here?" Kagome spoke aloud after seeing it in the corner. 'There's two of them….'
"This is a music room" Hikaru mentioned,
"Or did you forget?" The twins said in amusement with smug grins. Kagome's eye twitched at the comment but upon seeing the look on Haruhi's face, she knew that the girl had probably been thinking the same thing.
"Welcome princess, we've been waiting" the host club said in unison, making Kagome look over towards the door, 'the guest has arrived' Kagome thought as she saw the young girl walk into the club room. She got up and walked over to watch as the two elementary students talked and got ready to play.
"Your tie is crooked", Kagome said standing next to Mori. He looked down "ahh" he let out a little sound.
"You mind" Kagome said to Mori, nodding to his necktie. Mori shook his head and turned towards Kagome. As Kagome began to fix the necktie piano music began to play making all of the host club go quiet and begin to watch.
'They're good', Kagome thought while watching the two cute kids. 'This is Tamaki's doing?'. She had seen how he had been talking to the boy when she had arrived and the way he was watching the performance made her think so.
"We did a good thing" Tamaki said quietly to the group
"He loves with all his heart, so I guess that's one more way Shiro takes after you, huh" Haruhi said looking up at the blond boy standing next to her.
"wh…", "Looks like the blond idiot isn't completely useless all the time" Kagome interrupted Tamaki. Said blond boy had a blood vessel pop on his head "good work though" Kagome paused "there's nothing worse than not getting the chance to say what's in your heart to the ones you love before it's too late". Kagome looked down 'I miss you guys so much' Kagome thought as she clenched her hands
Kagome startled a little, feeling a hand on hers. She looked up seeing Mori's concerned look. Blushing she realized she had never let go of his necktie "erhm" she proceeded to quickly finish adjusting his tie and let go, trying her best to ignore the look she was receiving from the entire host club.
'So embarrassing' she thought to herself as she pretended to pay attention to the piano duet. Steam came off her head when she felt Mori place a hand on her shoulder. Out of the corner of her eye she could see he was watching the duet as well.
'He's… a really good guy huh' Kagome thought to herself as she listened to the music fill the room.
-Days Later-
"What's he upset about now?" Hikaru asked as he and his brother came upon the scene of Tamaki sitting in a chair in a corner of the room, a dark aura emanating from him.
"Haru-Chan is helping Kagome with homework", looking over, the twins saw what Honey was saying as the two were sitting on a couch together with textbooks on the coffee table in front of them.
"Oh?" they said in unison
"She's probably helping him with math", Honey responded, seeing the curious look on the twins' faces.
"Kagome sucks at math?" Hikaru snickered out.
"Really?" Kyoya pulled out his notepad and quickly jotted down the little tidbit of information he just got before all attention was drawn away from their conversation.
"ughhhhh!"
Haruhi looked up at the sound of a bang, turning her attention away from the textbook in front of her to look at her companion who continued to repeatedly bang their head on the table.
"I don't get it", Kagome said finally as she turned to look at Haruhi, her head still laying on the table.
"Here we'll go over it again" Haruhi pulled out a new sheet of paper only to have Kagome swipe the paper out of her hand. Pausing for a second Haruhi looked at Kagome with blank eyes,
"You're the one who asked for help. If you don't study you'll just have a harder time"
Kagome's cheeks puffed up in protest, "don't wanna…"
.
.
.
"No!" Kagome protested seeing the look in Haruhi's eyes. 'He's acting like a little kid' Collectively the host club thought
"Maybe they could help", Haruhi sighed indicating the others in the room, Kagome looked at the group and pondered the thought.
"No" Kagome pointed to the twins, they had blank looks in their eyes at her response, looking at Kyoya "don't want to receive a bill in my mail" Kyoya twitched. Looking at Tamaki, Kagome paused to seriously think about it, his eyes slowly becoming sparkly at the thought of his underclassmen asking for his help.
"Ewww", Kagome finally said. Her simple rejection seemed to slap Tamaki across the face.
Kagome looked at Honey and Mori with an unsure face, Honey was beaming and Mori's face was stoic as ever. Sighing again Kagome relented, "if you're willing I could use the help…" Kagome looked away, her face was red with embarrassment and a little shame. Honey gave an excited yell before running over and sitting across from Haruhi. Mori calmly walked over and looked over Kagome's shoulder to see what they were studying.
"Well I guess he is a meathead" Hikaru said
"That's why he got a sports scholarship and not an-" Kaoru chimed in
"-academic one" they said in unison, giving mischievous smirks.
Kagome paused at hearing this. Suddenly she stood and nearly lunged across the table, textbook in hand ready to beat the twins. Tamaki along with the twins gave girly screams and stumbled back, hiding behind Kyoya. Mori managed to grab Kagome around the waist and stop her from actually beating the twins to death.
'He's strong!' Mori thought as he struggled to hold back the smaller 'boy'. Struggling a little longer Kagome gave up, not wanting to hurt Mori just to go after the twins. 'I'll make them regret that!' Kagome continued to give the twins a glare, before finally looking down at her workbook and the various papers she had scattered in front of her.
'This is so frustrating! I never struggled with my classes before! I just fell behind my schoolwork when I was traveling into the past'. She could feel her face get hotter and she could feel a familiar sting in her eyes.
Mori looked at Kagome with concern. Although Kagome was trying to hide it he could see the slight trembling and the way 'he' was clutching his fists. Taking a moment to think, Mori grabbed Kagome's hand and bent down to look at Kagome at eye level.
"Let's take a look", he said, moving a workbook over closer, plopping down on the couch and dragging Kagome down to sit next to him. Kagome sighed and discreetly looked around, seemed like no one noticed she had almost let out a few tears of frustration out, 'well except for…' Kagome looked at Mori.
"I used to be good in math…" Kagome said sullenly. Eyes turned back to her and she felt on the spot. She had let her comment slip out louder then she wanted, she had mainly just not wanted Mori to think less of her.
"I was forced to take off a lot of time in middle school, it set me behind in all my studies… I actually use to be the top student at my old school"
"Really?" The host club said in unison excluding Mori.
"Why's that so hard to believe!" Kagome said bitterly. Mori patted Kagome's head "it's not" he said quietly enough that only Kagome heard. Before she could say anything Honey interrupted
"Then let's get you back on top Kagome!" Honey giggled.
Kagome smiled at the cheery boy and nodded before turning her gaze back to Mori, passing him a look. Mori seeing this gave a small smile. He didn't need Kagome to say anything to know what message the raven haired 'boy' was trying to say
'Thank you Takashi'.
