Chapter 3: Every Dog Has His Day:
Gou's POV:
Let me tell you why I'm in this race. I was living with my family. A couple with their child. One night, we were robbed and... I was too busy playing with the kid to notice. I failed, but I feel this race is my chance to regain my honor!
. . .
We were all racing. I have this one advantage, I'm energetic! Ma was ahead of me, but I ran right under her. "See ya at the finish line," I said.
"This is gonna be fun," says Ma.
I know I can do this!
. . .
I was far from the others, but then I stopped at a cliff. I looked and it was a long way down. I then saw the others. "STOP," I shouted.
They all stopped. "What's the hold up," asks Tuzi.
"That," I said.
We then all took a look. "Wow, it's a long way down," says Shu.
"Too bad none of you have wings," says Long. He then starts flying.
"I have wings," says Gongji, "it's just I can't fly."
As Long starts flying, I get an idea. "Long wait," I said, "if we can't cross, then you would have to be in the zodiac all alone!"
Long thinks about it. "You're right," says Long, "that wouldn't be fair. Alright, I'll carry you all!"
. . .
Long then carried us to the other side. "Thanks," says Mu Laohu.
"My pleasure," says Long.
I then noticed the two looking at each other.
"Maybe we can get back to the race," says Mao.
"You're right," I said, "let's go!"
We then got back to racing.
To Be Continued
