"Hey Will, what's up?" Emily had just received his call as she walked into her apartment after returning from a case.
"Hey Emily, kind of a weird request- JJ is not really doing to great at the moment, and she has asked if you can come over to help comfort her. She hasn't really told me what's wrong, but I'm worried." Will confessed.
"Absolutely I'll be right over, I just need to feed the cat. I can be there in 20 minutes." She quickly ended the call and busied herself setting out food for Sergio and changing into slightly more comfortable clothes. Once she was ready she headed back down to her car and set off towards JJ's house. Only on the road did she stop to think about what could be worrying her best friend so much that she need her, as well as Will- her partner and baby daddy.
After knocking on their front door she was let in by Will, who was looking slightly flustered. "Hey, how is she?"
"She still hasn't told me what it is. But I just got her settled in bed with some tea." He replied.
He led the way down the hall to the master bedroom. Upon entering Emily went straight to her friends side, hugging her as close as their seated position allowed.
"Hi Jen. what is it? Is it the baby?" She questioned, sitting back to look her friend in the face.
"No, it's just a lot of things. I don't even know specifically, I feel like everything is just happening all at once. And I think I really need some comfort right now." Her eyes were full of unshed tears as she tried to read if Emily was willing to stay.
"I get it, I have days like that too. I'm here for whatever you need."
"Cher, what can we do for you?" Will questioned, desperately wanting to make his girlfriend feel better but not knowing how.
"Maybe we could put on a movie and just cuddle in bed for awhile, is that okay?"
"Absolutely"
"Of course!" They both chimed simultaneously.
JJ shuffled to the center of the bed, and after kicking off her shoes Emily slid in next to her. Will crossed to the other side, picking up the television remote from his bedside table as he too slid under the covers. He surfed through the channels to see if any thing good was playing and paused when JJ called out "Wait stop! I like this one." He settled in reading the info at the bottom of the screen: 'Age of Adeline'.
They got comfortable to watch, JJ sipped her tea, eventually handing the empty mug to Will as she snuggled into Emily's body. Will switched off the TV, and began rubbing JJ's back as he spoke softly to her, "It's alright love, just let it all out. You're okay. You'll be okay. You're safe here."
Emily held her tight, gently pulling the hair back from her face with one hand, and continuing to rake her fingers through the soft tresses to help soothe her. "It's okay Emily." JJ reassured her, "Will and I have talked about this before."
In no way reassured, and now even more confused she threw a look to Will begging him to explain.
